i hav got imate jam with bootloader 1.02 i can read my highspeed sd card on it but when i use that sd card on T mobile mda compact or orange spv m500 (bootloader v1.0) it doesnt recognise i hav tried all the ways so i think we should update the bootloader to v1.02 to read highspeed cards. i dont know how to update bootloader. will anyone help me in copying imate bootloader and copying it on orange spv m500. i hav updated roms on t and m500 to imates latest rom but no difference this means the problem is with old bootloader.

My PPC is in bootloader mode due to wrong upgrade.

you can use the updater from bootloader, I did without activesync
My Bootloader is Corrupt.
Actually My PPC has a G3 DOC and SPL is of Now G4 DOC.
It is connecting in bootloader mode but not allowing any upgrade.
The only option is "r2sd backup of SPL"
Can u help me?

Please remember that the prophet ROM is NOT compatible with the charmer !

Sorry to bother you,but I see you have a prophet too
Could you be so kind to create an SD image of the prophet too (including ipl&spl) so I can restore one of my broken Prophet and upload it here so other people who have this problem can be helped ?

My prophet is G4, so it can only cause more damage to your phone. but i will look for someone with a G3 prophet, to backup his rom with SD. if i will find, i will let you know.

today I got a 256MB MMC Card because SD Card was not available.
I tried it but nothing happend.
Can it be that the card must be SD and model and manufacturer must be same or something wrong with the backup image.
I then tried making SPL image from shiped ROM by typhoneNBFtools.pl on the same card but the message was "Update Not Allowed"
Please help.

did u CID ulock your phone? you must do that before flashing with SD.
I used Lokiwiz to unlock it, but I dont know it worked or not.
After this wrong update (Prophet Custom Rom for G4) the SPL is now of G4.
I am now facing the same proble as Jester (G4 SPL on G3 DOC).
As G3 & G4 DOC structure is different so its not booting to OS and even not allowing any G3 SPL to load.
I even tried Wizard Roms, Prophet Recent Roms and even Jester's ROM but my IPL & SPL stayes same as.

I've investigated deeper, and if you have a G3 with an G4 SPL you are screwed, the only way to recover is to do a hardware level fix, that is to move the flash chip to a good G3 with the correct SPL still in memory and then flash it, then move the chip back into your phone.
in short:
NEVER, EVER MIX the IPL/SPL of ANY G3 or G4 device, you will brick your phone !

Not yet, untill I get my SMD tools here, I might be able to do it
but it's very hard.
P.S.
SMD tools = hardware soldering tool, you can't fix your phone with software only.
please let us know the procedure.

i try with Cheeta unlocker and MAGIC Unlocker, both not work.
it this because of the new SPL0.24??

i had same problems with my treo. first like oli says in his first post about hard spl make sure you have net compact framework 2.0 on your computer. what worked for me was in your c drive there is a folder called tempche. delete that file then run unlocker again. i only did first step on my treo just so it would be hard spl'd. never did step 2 and so on cause i didnt feel a need too.

im not sure about what spl means but i do know that you need to have it done in order to install a cooked rom. it basically unlocks your phone so you can flash different roms that the chefs cook. there really isnt to many people cooking roms for the treo. theres only about 3 or 4. i think everybody got different phones so thats why your not getting responded too very quickly. i too have a tilt and a treo and i like to bounce back and forth between phones. i have the wm 6.1 lite rom on my treo. if your looking at just upgrading from wm 5 to wm 6 you dont need to do a hard spl. stock roms allow you to flash without unlocking your phone. im not a computer genious here but i will try and assist you however i can. ive been in your shoes before trying to figure all this stuff out.
i forgot to answer your question about where to find the spl. it shows up in your bootloader screen. you can see it by pressing down the lower left side button and pushing soft reset which is located on the other side where you put your mini sd in. there is a small whole that you use your stylus to push in. you can just soft reset again to get out of the bootloader screen.

Hello, i was able to upgrade my I-Mate upgrade with a cooked rom (some kind of WM6.1 with All Languages but it's really unstable...). In short, i'm tired of this WM6.1 so I decide to downgrade the phone to WM5, it's was stable and fast but without spanish. After reading the post Imate SPL 6.1 ROM i found the RUU for the original version of I-mate SPL with WM5, but after running the RUU application an error message apper just before flashing "ERROR: Invalid IPL File blah blah blah".
I've also tried the SD method, but the screen goes White and nothing happens. Is there a way to downgrade from WM6.1 to WM5 using the RUU? or can I override the IPL and "force" the flashing?
