Now that Verizon is supposed to be getting the "amazing" iPhone it seems that at&t really is stepping their game up in their lineup of android devices. Wish I would have waited a little longer haha.

I will be buying the atrix off contract at release been saving my pennies for a while and now I have something to want.
Atrix seems great, but it could take a while to root. Every carrier and manufacturer has their problems IMO.
The Atrix does seem good, but i want to see a nice HTC device on AT&T. I've heard we might be getting the Desire HD.

Personally... im not really impressed with the HTC Inspire 4G... Will be a while before i can afford to upgrade off contract, so for me, ill just wait and see what other candy is available in the coming months
as much as the captivate sucks. we are still like the nexus s which means we might get a fully working cm7 sense the software is so bad.

I love every htc ive had, just the inspire, spec wise doesn't seem to be much better then mine now. Think I prefer hummingbird with it's gaming support over snapdragon. At least moto seems to be stepping its game up. But I am also worried about locked boot loader. Wish htc would come out with a similar device. I would give it a few months to see if the Atrix has any issues and how easy it is to root/put custom roms on.
I mean look at the Captivate, aside from some phones having GPS problems and small issues it really is a great phone.
And if ya look at the Atrix, hell the CPU might just break once maximized to the full potential. You NEVER know!

I can guarantee that the Rep doesn't have access to that information. At&t gives reps very limited info on future releases. Besides they're always testing new devices and they're deffinitely keeping an eye on the competition. With that said, if a manufacturer plans on launching a device that Att wants they will do everything they can to add it to their lineup.

Why is AT&T rolling out so many 4g units? Isn't their 4g network still about two years away? If so, these units will be obsolete before you can take full advantage of their capabilities.

Hello everybody
It has not even been 6 months since the HTC One x release.
I have bought a HTC One x last week in the hope that it would be the flagship product for HTC for next 6 months.
Alas all my hopes was shattered few days back by HTC One x+.
I have seen the rumors even before I purchase the one x.
But at that time it was said as a direct competitor for Samsung galaxy note product.
So I assumed it may not supersede HTC One x.
But recent reports are terming the one x+ as more of a successor to one x than competitor Samsung galaxy note.
In that case our mobile phone would soon become a step child for HTC from a flagship product position that too merely within 6 month of a product life cycle.
I.think nowadays mobile phone product got a short span of life cycle.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
That's how it goes. Thank Apple and their yearly release cycle.
I could be dead wrong, but a)aren't the specs of the X+ on marginally better (same RAM, same battery, same form essentially... with a slightly better CPU?) and b)isn't the X+ looking like T-Mobile, which would make it like the Evo for Sprint. Not a "successor," just another version.
Honestly, it doesn't matter to me. I love the One X and don't image it will be difficult to stick with it for 2 years.
...no matter how tempting the Lumia 920's PureView camera may be...

Contrary to popular belief, when a newer phone is released, your devices specs DO NOT change. They will remain the same thru its entire life span
I don't care about new phones. I just want this one to get root!
Remember, there is still the Evitaire info from early august. The One X+ is codenamed Endeavor C2, that one should be for T-Mobile. Considering the AT&T One X is codenamed Evita, I'm sure the the Evitaire is for AT&T and is the One X+. We will know for sure on the 19th.

Thanks everybody for your clarifications on the One X+.
Moreover many of you have not understood my concern correctly.
I am not such an immature person to think that the mobile phone i have, would never get a successor.
Not only Apple offers a one year window before releasing a successor to it's products, But it also offers 3+ year support for it's existing products.
Expecting our investment (valuation) to be secured at least for one year is wrong?
I think, people should not complain about product support for more than one year if they didn't buy an Apple or Google Experience device.
Anyway let us hope the HTC One X+ be a T-Mobile centric mobile phone.
In Android phone arena, a phone can barely hold on to its status within 3 months of release. By 6-month time, it is defintely last gen. If you always want the latest and greatest, be prepared to buy a new phone every 6 months or so. HTC has no choice. If it didn't refresh its hardware in 6-month time frame, other manufacturers will leave it way behind. There is no such concern from Apple because no one else get to release another iPhone.

Using latest and greatest mobile phone is not my point.
I want the mobile phone i purchased should receive first hand treatment from the company at least for one year.
Apple, Google and Samsung does that.
How many Samsung phones you owned in the past? Samsung NEVER treat its current released phone as 1st class. Typically you only get important updates after new phone releases. That's why I switched over to HTC after so many years dealing with Samsung. And I don't regret it at all.

Wasn't Samsung Galaxy S2 a successful and well supported mobile phone on it's times than HTC Sensation ?
And would HTC Sensation receive a Jelly Bean update ?
Samsung Galaxy S2 going to receive it.
Moreover Samsung Galaxy S2 had never received a successor on any of the operator within a full one year gap.

HTC Sensation XE and XL been released merely within few months after the release of HTC Sensation.
I am not trying to cause issues with this post but to point something out and ponder WTF is different.
This new X, is just a slight upgrade we know, but in this picture at the Verge, it seems to have either new vent holes or a speaker outlet by the redesigned camera bezel.. IF, this is a picture of it and not something else.

My wife's 2 year old HTC Inspire got an update last month. Will it ever see ICS? I doubt it.
With Google going to a yearly software release schedule like apple I suspect my One X will see Jelly Bean but not Key Lime Pie, or Karmel Korn, or whatever they decide to call it.
You buy a phone for what it can do TODAY. Since you're on a site which is all about developing custom roms and tweaks and such, a company's official software release schedule shouldn't matter all that much anyway.
If by some bizarre chance I still have this phone in two years I'm sure CM11 or CM 12 or whatever will run on it just fine.
The dual core S4 is already capable of running everything except the hardcore games like a hot knife through butter. Android apps are a long way off from maxxing out what our SoC is capable of.
In a nutshell chasing the latest and greatest is expensive, there will always be something better on the horizon. Always buy the flagship and if you can, buy the unsubsidized unlocked version. That will keep the average XDA user happy for at least a year.

My Samsung Galaxy S2 (AT&T version) only received ICS updates after I purchased HTC OneX and dumped my S2.
In US, AT&T received Galaxy S2 in Oct. 2011, then a newer version of Galaxy S2 with LTE radio called Galaxy S2 SkyRocket and Galaxy Note showed up in Nov. 2011. Afterwards, AT&T is also scheduled to release Galaxy S2 SkyRocket HD in March or April 2012 but later cancelled due to incoming Galaxy S3 which released in June 2012. The SkyRocket HD did get released in Korea however. So, in about eight months, Samsung released or intend to release 5 different Android phones on the same carrrier.
This is the first time i am writing a post against an innovation, first of all i would like to mention that i like HTC ONE X that i own since May 2012 from AT&T, so this is not a hate post its more of an really upset post. HTC according to its promises during launch of one series was supposed to provide constant updates and bug fix for a group of satisfied customers, but it started making them unhappy once again when they were not releasing issues related to Wifi and calls with One X. After the release of Samsung S3 and Iphone 5 the company forgot its promises and stepped back and again changed their primary focus from Android to Windows, releasing a few window phones in Oct 2012 after iphone. Then they made a very huge mistake by releasing the HTC ONE X+ last week, where the specs of the phone are amazing for US market, but forgot to think about the 4 milllion users currently using the HTC One X. Did HTC really think we would be happy with the new phone or sad as the phones we use now are outdated within 6 months and are being sold at $29.99 and has no value of carriying it, which we bought for $149.99 or for some $199.99. And now we will have to see other people using the HTC One X at the cost of us as we tried the phone trusting the brand to keep it exclusive.
Less Battery Life, Slower CPU, Less Space, previous andrioid OS @ a higher Price. Welcome to HTC family of testers. I will make sure any product i buy next is not from HTC or its affiliates. I will buy a Samsung or an Iphone for sure, confident about them not releasing a similar product within 6 months.
Thanks HTC for making me a tester, i will make sure i don't become again. Same for AT&T for releasing it in US. You just lost a cusomter for sure.
Name one company didn't do what HTC does. Let's face it, any Android phones can only have 3 to 6 months of shielf life.
I don't have any issues with WiFi or calling. I have no doubt you have a legitimate issue, but I also don't think its that widespread. HTC is a great phone company. I've stuck with them through 5 devices, since the old Windows Mobile days. The only beef I have with them, is their anti-development posture (despite their claims to the contrary) with the locked bootloaders, and their decision to cavort with AT&T to not allow a bootloader unlock for the One X. I'm willing to bet that future HTC devices on AT&T will be similarly locked down, and that if anything will prevent me from buying their devices in the future.
The One X is an amazing piece of hardware. Them offering an update to the device is logical business sense, and doesn't degrade the real value of my phone (how I use it every day). All Android devices drop in retail value. I don't resell my devices, so I can care less. The X+ is not even out yet. So the One X is still by far the best phone out there. The GS3 has a crappy cheap feel. The iPhone 5 has a dinky screen, and a funny candy bar shape, its a joke to me. The One X is the best there is.

I think he was talking more about how long a phone stays the flagship, how fast the price drops, when it gets superceded by a new phone. HTC has a bit to be desired for updates, for sure. But all the Android manufacturers have a major hardware release every several months. GS3 is newer than the One X, and Samsung already has the Note 2 coming, and I think a smaller version of the GS3, as well.
htc could keep the bootloader how it is but allow htcdev for unlock on at&t, that would let use flash on all firmwares and still keep people from bricking their phones with tegra roms. i think that should be an acceptable compromise for the time being.

Which ones: there are three different versions of GS2: Original GS2, GS2 LTE/Skyrocket and GS2 LTE with HD screen (Korean only). All released within 2 or 3 months of each other. Not to mention GS3 was released soon after that. As far as I know, other than ICS update, there is no other updates for AT&T versions.

I'm not happy with the fact that the CEO of the company, Peter Chou said out his own mouth that an official bootloader unlock solution would be provided for every phone after late 2011. One word: Nexus.
No wifi issues, No dropped calls here...
sure HTC falls behind a little on the update department but the HOX+ is not a mistake, the new flagship comes with JB which will be available a couple of weeks after the official release on the HOX and HOS, and every phone manufacturer releases an updated/better/newer version every 6 months or so.
About Samsung... 4 diferent types of S2 or something... maybe more on other carriers (who knows), Skyrocket couple of months after the release of the S2, then the Galaxy Note... Samsung made the same thing and considering the crazy amount of phones HTC released last year... this is an improvement... sort of xD
Hopefully JB will come out soon (if is not out alredy...havent look into it), and all your bugs will go away

You're right they're not. Process of unlocking them isnt an issue though.
By HTC releasing a new, upgraded version of their flagship device during the same year, customers really feel like they have made a bad decision...
But....you could argue the one x plus is necessary, because the one x, one s, each sgs3 variant and countless others all are essentially the same device, with an s4 soc and at least a gig of ram.
the only variance is screen size, storage, and the materials used to build each device.
Nice to see a unique device on the market. Its not the same thing as every other phone out there.

If you must have the latest and greatest phones as they release quit buying carrier subsidized phones. I could care less if the price drops $0.99 subsidized, I guarantee I'm still going to get $400 for mine and will have upgrade for a couple hundred dollars. In 5-6 months, I will do it again.
That's how it is
In Android world if your phone stays on top for 6 months...consider yourself lucky...new phones launch every week...and samsung is no different...Galaxy S (Vibrant) was awful...no updates except from 2.1 to 2.2 and it had very bad firmware...thanks to CM...I am running 4.1 on it now

Yup, I got the email. As mentioned above, its for the unveiling of the new HTC flagship device. Code named M7, and rumor says it will be simply called the "One".
For those that didn't get the email, it links to this webpage: http://www.htc.com/www/?cid=email_promo_HTCTeaser_body_img_HTC
The webpage shows a blurry glimpse of the phone whenever the clock's seconds digit hits "1" second (51, 41, etc.). And the "1" turns green, further indicating that the new device will be carry the "One" branding.

I'll probably be looking for an upgrade to my One X in the next few months. So in terms of that, I don't think it will disappoint. Of course the DNA is very recent, so the new flagship wont be a huge leap forward in comparison. But the DNA isn't an option for me anyway.
Not sure I'm crazy about the looks of the new phone in the leaked photos (if they turn out to be true). But specs wise, I think I'll be happy.
I'm excited but disappointed with HTC not getting with AT&T to push Jelly Bean to our HTC One X... This will probably be my last HTC device, spent $549 on this phone to find it obsolete 9 months later while every other manufacturer is pushing JB to their devices. The issue is with HTC & AT&T, both are coming close to being on the same level in my opinion. This is the best phone I've ever owned and it's camera proved itself next to a Canon ELPH 320 HS & Canon T3 --- but if a company wants to purposely outdate their phones, they will lose customers such as myself.

Kinda naive to think HTC can tell AT&T what to do.....
2月19号,新产品要来了,不过手上XL还能用,坚持不换,可能下一代手机更犀利呢。

Odd to see this type of comment on XDA. XDA exists so we can mod our phones however we like, not wait around for stock OTAs from our carrier. Just unlock your bootloader and be done with it. Jellybean has been available since last July (in the form of CM10), and "official" Sense JB since December. AT&T JB is not going to bring us anything we don't already have now.
The HTC One was unveiled this morning. Looks pretty hot:

Supposed to launch on AT&T, T-Mob, and Spring in Q2.
