Hi guys, I wasn't intending to release this until I had all the bugs worked out, but seeing as i wont be able to do much for a while I borrowed a PC (via RDP) and compiled what i have so far...
just a bit of a disclaimer:
THIS ROM IS NOT A FULLY WORKING ROM, THERE ARE TWO MAJOR BUGS (SEE BELOW) AND AN UNKNOWN NUMBER OF SMALLER ONES. THIS ROM IS TO BE USED AS A PREVIEW ONLY AND WILL NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY IN NORMAL USE.
Now that's out the way...
Changelog:
NO MORE MEMORY LEAK! (Start at 30mb on SR, Down to 27mb and STAYS THERE!)
More Storage on HR (only 4mb used)
New versions of HTC software from thier latest rom (TRINITY)
No more Clearvue
Cache and Pagefile tweaks. The best combination I could achieve on my G4.
New WM6 Sounds - Implimented but there is a registry error somewhere so they dont work.
Some software built into the rom (will be more by release) - needs activating via .cab files
No more freeze on SR
Known Major Bugs:
Activesync will not connect - was working on this when PC died...
Cab's cannot install - built in software can't be activated, can't disable unsigned apps.
Known Minor Bugs:
Harware buttons are screwed up (forgetful when doing the registry)
Dont forget there is also a NEW BUILD in the works

I'd love to have a rom without memory leak, now, I'm resetting everytime I need to do something what needs more memory...
Can someone with a G3 device (bootloader 0.xx or 1.xx) test this and confirm the mem leak fix works for g3 also? my g3 has a broken co-ax -.-

i cant do any more work on it atm because my pc is broken and due to family situation i have to give my wages to my parents (I am only 17 also). when i can afford to fix my pc i will release a proper version, i only posted this because i was happy about finally fixing the mem leak.
the final version will ahve teh same BT from Jwrighmcps' rom (if he agrees) and no video calling yet

at the moment it is VERY buggy i would not even consider sending it to my beta testers like that.
when i fix my pc i can continue work on it...
also when i get time to clean up the mem leak fix rom (this one) it will be allmost like a new rom base

I am surely not going to use the alpha rom as you have indicated it is full of bugs and in development stage. No hurry, look forward to your final. Hope you get your PC issue sorted at the earliest.

1. It is the fastest variant wm6 from all other
2. Use of operative memory on full became possible.

i did say it wasn't ready, and i already listed the not being able to install as a major bug. its more a preview of the speed i have acheived and the mem leak fix

I'm currently running nbd 9.0, and it's a bit flaky. I get 2-3 hangs a day. And, it's difficult to answer calls. Seems like things get really slow when a call comes in, and it just won't answer right.
So -- What to do? A friend recommended See No Evil. What I'm looking for is a STABLE rom, preferably with the following included: HTC Today thingie. PocketCM / PCM Keyboard.
That's about it -- the rest I install myself.
So -- which rom would be the best for me? And, should I upgrade the radio? (I'm Cingular/Att). Versions in .sig

Try mfrazz's build or you can also try my build as well as NotTooSmart's Build. We use the same base rom to cook and OS 318 has alot less issues as far as i know for staibility. TNT is releasing new OS soon :d

Just thought I'd note that The HTC Today plugin and the PocketCM and CMKeyboard can all be installed separately. You don't need them in the ROM.

this is the most stable rom ever , having 27mb free ram for days , i use the lite version. try it out, it doesn't have those programs that u mentioned but it's rock solid.

I would suggest rebuild your own ROM. I use whiterat ROM as that is the one that is most stable in my phone, or jaguar was good in my phone too. Rip it with core kitchen, and add the packages u like, and enjoy...

try NBD 8.3.....BEST ROM EVER IMHO.
What I've tried so far
NBD 9.0 - Very flaky -- many hangs, but beautiful
NBD 9.1 - Much better than 9.0, but, still some hangs. Java did not work with gmail applet (after installing, it would immediately exit whenever you try to run java)
NBD 8.3 - Java hanging issue.
SeeNoEvil - Does not have streaming media, has old HTC-X, no HTC Today thingie, but I love CoolCamera.
Mobile 6 2a - Seems stable, but no HTC Today thingie, or other fun aps.
OCTAIVOI's -- Things mostly work -- same java issue as NBD 9.1. Gmail does something weird to the java machine. -- since that's the only thing I use java for, it's a big deal.

And, I've discovered that these are the killer apps that I love:
1-Calc - I typically install rdcalc, but never use it to it's full potential -- 1-Calc is pretty sweet
HTC Today Thingie - I love this launcher -- lets me use my finger. I also like the Contacts & weather

I'm going to keep editing this post as I test things

Where can I look to get started with a ROM kitchen? Last time I did it, it was with my original XDA, and Lumpi Stefan's kitchen -- which was all web based.
Can someone point me to a tutorial on how to get started with a WM6 kitchen?
Java Wierdness
Seems like something has permanantly damaged java -- I go back to the T-Mobile 2.26, then up to any package, and java doesn't work.
Just like the title says.
I love the speed of the NNCuong Rom. It's superfast. Pretty Stable. I'm using it for almost 2 or 3 months I Think. But the BT Audio hangs after a while.
Somebody who knows which is the right Rom for me?
BT Audio works perfect for me with nnc's ROM.
I am definitely sure that I am not the only one with the BT Audio problem.
I have read already a few times about people having the same problem also on other roms.
If I use BT Audio through my anycom speakers my MDA hangs after a few minutes and all i can do is reset the device.

It's the fastest Rom i have seen around, and don't know if there is any other rom that matches the speed of this rom.

I'm using NNCuong's ROM too, with a2dp.
When Uni hangs press the play button on your a2dp device twice to unfreeze
But that sucks.
I'm going to try WM6.1 ROMs, at least DFT one. Old DFT ROM was the best WM6 I ever seen.

24hrs of DFT WM6.1 ROM, no problems, crashes, soft resets or freezes.
A2DP works perfectly. Camera works perfectly after replacing with a newer version (old bug with 4Gb SDs).
Disabled SnapVue, Error reporting and Performance app right after installation.
Right now I have 18Mb of free RAM (with connected BT A2DP, WkTask, PocketBreeze and some minor today plugins), that's after 24hrs. After soft reset it's 24Mb.
I installed the 6Mb Pagepool version.
And, the main parameter - speed - it's as fast as NNCuong's.
So, I recommend DFT ROM (search for 6Mb PP version link, if you have a 64Mb device).
I use Ranju's 7.1 and it works perfect! No hangs, great speed, BT fully functioning, flash disk, extra storage, I just love it!

Here is your link. I've been using DFT rom (64mb) for over a week without any problem.
I have finally flashed one device with the DFT ROM.
I love the interface. But... despite of people saying it's fast, the Nncuong rom is like 2 times faster...
If i scroll through the start menu holding down the down button it goes like really fast, my eyes almost can't keep up with the speed. The first time I Used this ROM I was stunned by the speed and had get used to working with it.
And this is with everything I do, working and navigating on the Universal.
This ROM is the only ROM I found being this fast, and thats why I love this rom the most.
People who haven't had this rom will probably say other roms are fast, because they aren't slow. But with Nncuong fast I mean really fast!
I wonder why Nncuong can make his ROM this fast while others can't?

Headset I had no problems with. Its the bluetooth audio profile (A2DP) that was giving problems.
PS. How do you experience the speed?

Wow.... That is what i would call the perfect mix af apps for a rom right now.... thats almost exactly what I'm using w/ open touch micro beta 1. The only real difference is I use uitweaker to change the bar colors... It even has code for black bars.
How bout some specs though.... Whats remaining for free storage on device and whats the free prog ram after reboot?

I knew I forgot something. I think it's got ~38 storage and ~18 prog left if I remember correctly.
I should have my lite version out within the next couple days if your looking for a clean rom.

It uses Tier Autoinstaller (I borrowed it from ivan's kitchen).
WHY why why ??? Why does a rom always come out when i am on a phone call with a hottie? Well downloading it now . So I guess ill flash this and see how it feels .. And to think I just got the vista rom tweaked to what I like...... Let me see what it does.
Ok Flashing now mate ... Lets see how your work is .... The screen shots look very appealing ... Waiting to see the flash finish . at 94% now.. 99% .. 100% .. Ok the phone is restarting ..... ICP-TOUCH 1st screen is there .... 2ns screen saying windows mobile 6.1 ..... lets see if its going to continue .... Started did the re-align screen now its restarting after doing a few installs. ill get back after I properly test it .... Looks good so far.
Ok the rom test has begun. Yes you included the network wizard but i have gotten accustomed to roms auto starting it .The comm manager isn't on the usual button but thats a minor detail guess that goes with a persons choice. The rom feels light and smooth . The cube is refreshing to see it work out the box with no hang ups.
There is nothing in the Accessories Folder so don't see why thats is there. I love your collection of games as it gives me something to do if i am bored sitting somewhere. Total commander is what i use a lot is in the start menu but isnt in the programs list or anywhere else that I have seen.
MMS which is an extreme biggie to me works out the box ... That right there made me a happy camper. Core player which i like way better than windows was pre-installed another plus. Bluetooth went smoothly tested with Motorola H375 and HS850. both connected easily and reconnected on restart. the dial keys don't move much when you are dialing i think it would be a nice addition if you could do that.
Memory ... Not bad not bad a decent amount of space haven't installed anything or added my phone numbers yet readings as follows.

I still do not like that UltimateLaunch not activated on screen. How do I uninstall it ? I miss the HTC Home which i use along with it. Thats just my own personal preference. Audio Manager which I see to be needed runs with no glitches. I see like a lot others you hide the sim contacts which i always have to change but Advance Configuration does it so easily now.
TAutoinstall is a nice program but what is the default path of cabs its looking for. And the pop-up which tells you to click install even if there isnt any cabs makes absolutely no sense. Because if you click install and there is no cabs the phone restarts anyway.
I like that the slide makes no noise but I didn't notice an icon for it anywhere. Guess you removed that. doesn't matter to me but some may prefer the sounds. And this Customer Feedback ... LOL ... I know im not sending no feed back to microtrash....
psShutXp is a beautiful program but i didn't see the need to have it in the tools folder and under programs. An overall look your rom is pretty sweet . I haven't seen any major bugs . Most re just my preference from someones else. It installed smoothly as I have already HardSPL with no hangs ups and was successful on the first run.. Ill use it for a day to see if any bugs do show up but I guess there is a new cook in the XDA ......
Well I tried to be as clear as possible. Your work is impressive for a new cook seems as if you did your homework. So lets see what others have to say for this rom ..

Re-installed UltimateLaunch now don't have the annoying "not activated" on the screen. And just tested wifi and works with no bugs. Also added S2U2. And just realized no office . The slide is a bit buggy on the screen when doing it multiple times . Well even when doing it once every now and then it moves very sluggishly and in an un-smooth manner.
Ok I love this feature I just got a call in and the phone sent to my bluetooth a verbal message telling me who is calling . Which program was that I must ask mate ???? Ok .. I must really be tired I just remember thats voice commander.. LOL Time to goto bed folks its 6:58am here in nyc.

Try to use froyo 2.2 RLS 12, right now i use it on my phone, it is fast naught to do all the usual things without wait. I overclocked my CPU to work at 540MHz (this says Rogue Tools) but it is working at 520MHz really. The market it is working fine, bluetooth also, wifi can be solved to obtain ip, everything is ok. how can I flash froyo 2.2 RLS 12 to my Polaris?wifi is ok?
1. READ POST1 HERE - FOR THE INSTALL PROCESS INSTRUCTIONS and download the install-seq.sh .
2. READ POST1 HERE - DOWNLOAD THE Latest FroYo NBH or ZImage (POLAIMG.NBH) for your panel type, and the RLS12 All Languages Themed (androidinstall.tar).
3. READ POST1 HERE - FOR THE NBH Editor v3.5.2 YOU CAN DOWNLOAD AND USE THIS PROGRAM TO CHANGE THE PANEL TYPE FROM 1 TO 3 OR FROM 3 TO 1.
After you read all the 3 posts from the 3 thread and you download all the files you need you can proceed with the install using the steps described in the point 1.
For solve the WiFi obtain IP adress, after you install successfully the Android on your Polaris, restart it and press the volume button up when booting Android, you will see a menu with some options, select FIX PERMISSIONS menu and wait... after the fix WiFi will work just fine and it will obtain the IP from the network.

Indeed, I am using since yesterday RLS12. It is pretty ok, some freezes here and there but nothing really important. Sometimes in Market the phone restarts. I thought about overclocking the CPU but I was affraid not to broke it. Is it safe? Is there a performance improvement ? What about battery drain ?
In my case i don't have any problems with freezes or restarting in the Market, but when you change the camera settings application from photo to video then the program stops. About overclocking the CPU, i use it in this way (540MHz) from some time, all is ok, the phone is fast and the battery is not drain, in my case work from 3 days ago and i have use it my phone to calls, WiFi (browsing), Bluetooth (send/receive files).
this last several days i've spent time to try a lot of android build for my device polaris100. here is my opinion about the best adroid build i've tried :
1.Incubus26jc's Super Froyo (RLS13)
the best build for show off to your friend in reality my device's 128 mb ram can't run it as smooth as it should be. too many frezes it work but with limitation. you need to tweak it a bit to make it bearable : 1 launcher page, keep launcer on memory, kill all windows animation. try to move the installed program to your sd might increase the cache files. uninstall those you never use. minimal widget. you might want to overclock your procc at the risk of your beloved polaris.
2. Kallt_kaffe VaniljEclair RLS11 (CM5.0.8)
It has the bling bling as the froyo build but it works generally alot of better than the froyo one. it work fast out of the box. and if you do the tweak i mentioned above it work alot of more faster. but not as fast as it should be if compared to those official device that came out with eclair.
3. [ANDROID] Myn’s Warm Donut - [RLS 5 - 04/24/2010]
this is the oldest adroid of the two above. but it has the least hardware requirement, in other word it really work as it should be (compared to the device that officially came with it). it just some glitches here and there but it is bear able. I'm having alot of fun with this build.
there is alot of other build that i tried but IMHO those 3 above are the one worth to mention.

Most stable for Polaris

I always testing any incoming releases.
I vote for Incubus Froyo (RLS13 yet). If you don't use lot of screens, widgets, than it is the most stable for daily use. These things are the most important for me and they are work:
- Incoming calls come fast
- Data plan works: Task, Calendar, Contact
- BT carkit works
- Battery: I use sometimes pcarvalho lastest winmo and it drains battery more, than Android.
I think the most freezes are about the low free memory. But I'm on it to get more memory. If I use app and data on SD, I got max 40MB of free memory.
Hey, I got the same impressions of the Incubus RLS13, very stable BUT suffers from a memory problem... well, can't expect too much from the Polaris RAM when compared to the new devices in the market.
However, can u guys tell me if the Launchers (PRO and ADW) should make the phone slower (choppy)? I decided to stay with the stock launcher, apparently works better (apps, screens in/out), but I checked that PRO and ADW don't use a lot of memory.
For example, Tjahjo07, when u say keep the launcher in memory and 1 screen only, which launcher are u referring to?

Tks Phyt. Yeah, I did try the speed-up suggestions, my Pola100 is much faster now.
2 screens LP, keep in memory, people widget and weather only. Minimal freeze and FC so far.
I did however go back to Liquid's 16/07 nbh, the 26/07 from DZO was giving me a lot of charging and booting issues. Seems much more stable now.
Im waiting for a Pola version for the 24/08 nbh from DZO, read some good reviews from people using Vogue...
I flashed Incubus26jc's Super Froyo (RLS14), Kallt_kaffe VaniljEclair RLS11 (CM5.0.8), Myn’s Warm Donut - [RLS 5], but there is no-one can run in my Polaris smooth.
My suggestion is don't install Android in your Polaris for business. Otherwise, maybe you will loss order or job.

Use the VaniljEclair an reduce the pages of ADW.Launcher to 1! It works really fast!!! Ive got Pola200. If i flash Incubus Froyo WLAN dows not work. Running the other ROM everything works fine!!! I had 1.6 myns warm donut before. It had benn run from SD Card. By flashing Eclair I got a 2.1 which works as fast as Donut from SD card. Try it! Its great!!!

i installed android NAND on my pola200 and worked. but after some days it goes crazy and according to this forum thresd i could remove old version and now i want to install another stable version, so i read wiki page but all links not worked! or say file not found. so i'm going back to read threads again to find what version is good. but another problem! ; many of this guides uses haret.exe to install android but i cant do this, because i don't have WM on my pola200 to run it. so can you help me for that? how to install new android ?
