3 Australia Block SIP(VOIP)?? - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Just wondering if anyone has got true VOIP (not Skype) working over the Australian 3 Network, as I suspect they might have blocked it ?
Thanks in advance,

HTC S710 Problems - help!!

Have 4 problems with my unlocked htc S710 phone:
1) Problem is I can not get the phone to work on one of my gsm providers - my home provider actually. They currently operate on the 1800/900 band. I will see the network (when set manually) get full signal and detect gprs but for some reason I can not make or receive any calls.
Has anyone had this problem ?? .... and what can I do to fix it??
2) Using the other gsm providers SIM the phone actually works (makes and receives call, surfs the net) - provider operates on the 1900/850 band. Problem is it shows a roaming symbol on the phone.
Why is that there? and how can I remove it?
3) When using WiFi i find i can not surf or retrieve mail as my office uses a proxy setting. I have attempted to setup for the proxy but still not working and the manual does not show you.
current settings
call from : work
call to : the internet
proxy name/port: <name>:8080
type: http
username/password saved
Can somone tell me what I am possibly doing wrong?
4) Why cant i select the GSM band I want to use like in Mobile 5 .... i can t even find the option ?

Problem with this update is I am in JAMAICA, i do not see my providers. We have (2) GSM providers Cable & Wireless Jamaica and Digicel Jamaica.
What you suggest ??
does your provider have to register IMEI's of phones?
it may restrict what phones you can use with them

Digicel not supporting WM6 devices
The problem is that currently Digicel is not supporting the radio firmware embedded in WM6. I found this out after upgrading my HTC P4350 to WM6 to find that I had no connectivity. I ended up being forced to downgrade to WM5. As the S710 is not available with WM5, your only option is to switch to C&W.

Thanks for the response. I was forced to switch to C&W cause the support people and Digicel had NO CLUE ... sad really ... i guess we now know who is the better network! But tell me something i noticed when using C&W the roaming symbol appears on the phone. This does not stop any features from working but i just wanted to know if you had that problem and if so how did you get rid of it.
same here. i too am facing same problem.. when i have vodafone sim i can make incoming n outgoing call but when i change to airtel i get the probs.
guyz help me out with this probs.
thnx

Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2 in Spain. Hands-free locked. What can I do?

I´ve just bought the device from US Sprint. It´s not unlocked but It works almost perfectly with my Vodafone Spain sim car. Calls, text messages, GPRS internet and GPS (tested with google maps) work OK.
But I´ve got a problem with the hands-free aplication. It seems to be locked:It connects properly but get disconected after a few seconds. Then the phone tries to connect to the Sprint customer area or something similar, to "unlock the hands-free option". Obviously, the connection fails, as I´m in Spain.
My question:
- Can I solve this problem changing the ROM when It´ll be available (does anybody know any new about the hard-spl for Sprint Pro 2 devices?).
- Or maybe unlocking the phone? Is it posible right now?
Thanks for all, and excuse my poor english!
Congratulatios for this huge comunity!

[Q] Cannot Connect to 3g with the Correct APN settings?

Hi All,
A few weeks ago I bought the Euro Xoom 3g and of course try to use the internet.
Problem in short:
The Vodafone Sim i use does not work with 3g on the Xoom. It borrowed the sim from my HTC Legend ( on which 3g works perfectly ).
More info:
APN settings i used are:
- Same on Legend (with CW7)
- Original Xoom (NL Vodafone)
- The settings received from Vodafone themselves.
Same symptoms in Rooted and unrooted Xoom
Model MZ601 Build:H.6.1-38-1
GSM network is functional ( even get text messages about missed calls )
Attached is a logcat from the radio while the xoom tries to connect, with a few things i noticed ( but do not really understand ) mentioned below:
GPRS CSS not supported / UMTS CSS not supported
[0388]< REQUEST_GET_NEIGHBORING_CELL_IDS error: com.android.internal.telephony.CommandException: REQUEST_NOT_SUPPORTED
Things i read from other forums ( like tweakers.net ) are:
Update 12jun, other provider sim i lent (kpn) worked like a charm.
- Users with other providers (KPN/T-Mobile) do not get such issues.
- Some users (and i ) call/visit Vodafone but only get the "Is the APN set up correctly" without any luck reconfiguring.
- The neighbouring cell message could relate to incorrect programming ( read in custom rom forum topics )
Can any help help me to analyze what is going wrong, if this is something fixable in the software or anything else?
Thanks in advance and for reading upto this part of the message.
Help!

Was this ever fixed? I've got a Motorola Xoom (picked it up on clearance for cheap!) and I live in Australia. Optus, Crazy Johns, Boost, Vodafone etc ALL work fine with the correct APNs and do at least detect the network, whereas Virgin (the sim I'm using) does not.
I know the sim works, as I've tried it in other devices (android AND iOS) with the same APN settings, and I know the device works (on other networks) so it's not locked...
I'm at my wits end here!

That looks like a solution... I'll try that if the Motorola guys haven't heard of the issue before and don't have a solution (I've got a couple of reps looking into it, should know by tomorrow)
Cheers!

Call + Internet at same time

Hello,
does anyone know if there is a possibility to have phonecall and internet access at the same time?
As I have seen this is only possible on "H+" .
Is this a limitation of carrier or phone/android?
If it is phone or android related: Is there a setting that can be changed?
Carrier is T-Mobile D
I would like to have a phone call and access google maps while driving...
Also I would like to be able to send message or picture while calling (and not driving).
BR,
Robert

Your observation is correct, only 3G is currently able to provide both at the same time. 2G or native GSM doesn't provide enough bandwidth and unfortunately 4G came out without implementing the necessary protocol. This has been remedied however with "VoLTE", but only a couple of mobiles and providers have started to provide this service.
So if this feature is important to you set your mobile to 3G (WCDMA) only.

When u calling and u trying surfing too the data speed are drastically decreased because voice goes over 3g (depends where are you).and you trying to do multitasking over their signal which is in most cases impossible
But it has been slightly speeded up..
I red that mine operator (3) will be using 4g for voice calls at end of this year so it will be cool..
But one thing bugs me in that article (link below)that smartphone needs to support it too? Mate 7 has already this feature! Lte cat 6 ca or carrier agregation !
