No Sound in WMP or Audio Manager? - HTC Vox

Hi All,
My Vox does not appear to output sound when playing in WMP (Windows Media Player) or HTC Audio Manager!?!?! The programs work and 'play' the songs, but not sound comes out!!
The speaker works, as the phone rings when a call is received. But I have noticed also that I cannot play ringtones in the profile menu also.
Plugging in headphone or Bluetooth headset makes no difference.
Anyone got any ideas????
Currently running Dr Gonzo Rom 6.1, radio 4.1.13.54_03.10.90

check the sound settings! check the system volume(by buttons on right side)
ve had this too^^ got rid off it dunno how

Ok... did what I didn't want to do and did a hard reset which has fixed the problem.
My best guess is that it was the Kinoma Media player that I installed - but required registration and doesn't work in landscape...

It must be the third party media player
Yup,
I had the same problem when I installed GS Player and associated all audio files with GS Player. Even the Ringer was silent . But after hard resetting, everything was fine, then I reinstalled GS Player and made sure that I was not associating MP3,WMA with GS Player. BTW have you tried GS Player? Its free and pretty good too.

A2DP and audible player on tornado

I have an imate sp5m and I installed the A2DP fix and now windows media player works perfectly well with my spider bluetooth headphones.
But I tried audible player (audible.com, awesome service to listen to audiobooks on your cellphone) with A2DP and I can only hear sound in the left ear. Nothing in the right ear. Disappointing. Also, I was able to control windows media player from the bluetooth headphone controls, but that doesn't work at all with audible player (the software is now called audibleAir).
Any ideas on how I could fix this? Anyone got it to work?
Audible player on WM 5
HI, what ROM are you running?
I have an orange SPV C600 and installed AUdible player. It keeps giving me an authotication error when I try to run it as it cannot locate my "Hardware/Device ID". Did you ever come across any problems like this?
Thanks
Rob
no id/hardware issue for me
My ROM is the latest one:
ROM version: 2.0.8.0
Operator version: 2.6.331.2
I did not experience any problem with authentication for audible player. However, I did have to authorize my phone using the audible air software on the phone itself because it wouldn't work when I tried to authorize it from Audible manager on my PC.
I was able to hear the audio is stereo using bluecast but the quality is not great and I can't control the playback from the bluetooth headset. Still looking for a better solution.
Hi shaialud, is your ROM the Orange version? from the UK web site?
thanx
why it does not work
A2DP only supports mp3,wma, and maybe a couple of other formats. it is not an audible problem but a a2dp problem. Same issue on any a2dp device out htere.

bluetooth stereo headset (itech Radio / Tritton)

How seamlessly do the itech Radio and the Tritton work with the windows mobile phones (I have the xv6800)?
I see that the itech radio and Tritton have next/prev buttons, can these really be used to control media player 10 (or can those buttons be used to control some other third party media player running on the phone)?
Also, what happens when you get a call? Can you hear the phone ring in the headset while listening to an mp3 and does the music pause? I saw some threads from a year ago that incoming calls caused problems where people could not get the music to play after the call. Is this still a problem?
(Any thoughts on either of these devices would be appreciated.)
Thanks

It should. Also, make sure you check out my AVRCP Bible in the Wiki for other third-party apps; I'll update it in the forthcoming Multimedia Bible.

Sometimes. DUnno what you case will be. But, if it doesn't resume, then, you can still press the Pause button on your headphones to resume playback.

AVRCP for CorePlayer

I cant get my bluetooth headset to control the playback of CorePlayer. When i press pause on the bluetooth set, it starts the song in the HTC Player, while the CorePlayers song continues.
Is there anyway to set it so that CorePlayer is what receives the AVRCP commands?
It works by default just make sure your headset is already connected and in music mode before you even start the software, soft reboot first if you have to.
Doesnt work for me. It only controls the HTC TF3D player. CorePlayer does not react to the headset at all.
I soft reset, pair the bluetooth, start CorePlayer, press play, and nothing happens in CorePlayer, but HTC player starts to play in the background instead.
Then HTC player needs to be disabled ! PS try manually playing an album in coreplayer and then select the next track using AVRCP

Yeah i tried that, still doesnt work.
How do i disable the HTC player?
I dont have a raph but I remember from my ameo that there was a configuration app that worked with HTC home, this allowed you to change the default music player from HTC to win media.
Try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3056512&postcount=74
Now isn't this Very Strange.... my Nokia headset remains hardcoded to WMP yet my HP headset controls coreplayer w/o issues. This implies that a different profile might be in effect than mere AVRCP....
AVRCP Commands
We are trying to write the code for the AVRCP media commands on the microcontroller which will be sent to the ATMega microcontroller and then to the MP3 Bluetooth player in order to play/paue, volume up/down and track next/previous! My question is there any special set of AVRCP commands/code to be written in order for the player to recognize this ?
AVRCP works for coreplayer just turning coreplayer parameter on: Windows Media Player Mobile A2DP Plugin

Play music problem. Please help

Hi All,
I have a SDA Tmobile and just unlock, upgrade to WM6 using RUU_TORNADO_WM6.1_19202_Clean_0.4b ROM. It's very nice ROM.
When i played music by Window Media Player, i could not here any sound out of the speaker as well as the headphone jack (of course with the earset).
I used landline telephone to call to my SDA but also could not here ringtone (not Vibrated mode). But i could come to Settings\Sound, select ringtone and hear the ringtone there. So i guess there's no problem with the speaker.
Does anybody have same problem as me ? Please help.
Thank you

Sony Ericsson MW600

Just been reading that the MW600 works on the Nexus One, but not sure about the Desire ?
Also, is it possible to get the song info displayed using either the built in media player, or a third party one ?
MW600 works on my desire fine for calls, i have not tried music to be displayed
Thanks. Does the music player work fine with it also (excluding display) ?
Please report if music is stuttering. I prefer to use bluetooth headsets for music, but if the A2DP stuttering issues are not fixed yet, I am staying away from them.
Can anyone confirm that the headset shows the songtitle on the Desire?
thanks
MW600 works fine as a music player and no stutters as such but i only listen for about 40mins each day. Still having a few issues with song information and odd controls using third party player.
Which third party player shows song information ?
@A|ex : "odd controls using third party player"
What do you mean by that ?
Could you do this functions : next/previous song, play/plause, volume with the mw600 ?

I have a (pre-release) MW-600. I can confirm the songtitles are NOT displayed with any of the pre-installed players. Play, pause, next, prev, ffwd frev do work perfectly and the audio quality is very acceptible once u switched the earbuts (not sure if they'll be better in the retail package).
Also what is NOT currently supported is the 'low latency'-mode (A2DP without error correction). Therefore you can notice that audio and video (or games) are not perfectly in sync (a small audio delay is noticeable).
I am sure Android 1.6 in the Xperia X10 will have these issues covered, since MW600 is shipped together with it in some retail packages - hope SE will be kind enough to share these bluetooth profiles in Froyo ... (or HTC will catch up, afterall HD2 supports all of the mentioned above).
I have seen the X10 used with the MW600, and phonebook lookup does not work on it either.

how do you stream music to MW600? I paired my MW600 to Desire, but when I play music there is no sound in the headset...
I can confirm that SonyEricsson MW-600 bluetooth headset works beautifully with HTC Desire. Tried to see how far away I could play music (through Spotify) and it didn't make any hickups at all about 25 meters away!
i'm also having problems with my MW600
the desire will pair to it, although it never asks for the pin ..but wont connect. so i can't transfer phone audio playback to the headset . useless
think maybe i have a faulty unit.
wont connect to my SE W610i, nor my ps3 ..errors out.
hmmmm
got mine from AccessoryJack ...

It should do it by default if its pair to the device, you can tell if its paid as the bluetooth icon on the phone has small triangles next to the bluetooth icon and hte mw600 has a picture of a phone on to say its paired.
if you play music via default music app or other it will stream/ play to the headphones.
it works with spotify, lastfm, mp3s etc fine.
If someone calls you hear the beep, and it auto holds the music.
Do you have the volume turned up on the device? I changed my headphones for better as the default ear pieces were so uncomfy and cheap.
I was thinking when u use a blue-tooth headset will you lose your FM radio functions?
Because the wire of normal earplugs functions as the antenna for the FM radio?
I'd really want to know this because i listen to the FM radio allot so this is a really important thing to me.

I managed to pair it and stream music (I think battery charge wasn't enough when I was trying to pair it for the first time), quality is pretty good for me...
But I found the following BUG: when I have incoming call while listening to music (I use standard Desire music player), I can't hear caller's voice. If I stop music and call back, than it works fine.
Can somebody test it?

This works fine for me using hte standard HTC music player, Do you pair the device to your phone as does it display as being paired on phone and device?
you should here the beeps in your headphones when someone is trying to call.
When they do call it sounds as if htey can hear you but you cannnot hear them, are you sure your using the device mic or the phone mic?
It sounds to me your device is not paired correctly or you have connected device to the phone.

What mode are you using to pair it with windows 7, this is not the win7 forum!
2) when i paired it with ps3, it doesnt stream any music or video sound at all which the ps3 is playing...
Again what mode are you using and have you read the manual? Again this is not a ps3 forum

Install smartWatchM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=362218), why post about the X1 in the HTC desire forum?
4) i do c a clock once in a while, but the time is wrong, wat is the excatly buttons to display the clock and set the clock??
You will find the answer to the time displaying etc on your other device but not in the HTC desire forum.
