i have a question!
whats the difference between "clear storage" from the sytem menu and a hard reset?
i mean, if i do a hard reset, the phone will reset to original settings as in "clear storage"?
but after a hard reset will i still have all the default apps from HTC?(opera, youtube, TouchFlo 3D, etc?)
thx
ps
i know this post, but for my question its not clear
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Raphael_For_Beginners#Hardx20.Reset
.. its the same.
You will have all the appz. they should have come in the form of preinstalled cabs. I'd do a backup anyway, if you are thinking of doing one or the other.

I would like to utilize a different windows overlay than touch flo3d. I would also like to get it off my phone.
Is there a way to hard reset and not have the touch flo 3d set itself up?
Start > Settings > Today > Items. Uncheck TouchFlo 3D and tap ok
Thank you for the reply on how to disable touch flo touchflo3d from being active on my device. (I used a bit extra language there to help search engine results in the future.)
Let me refine my initial question. Is there a way to remove touch flo 3d or disable it from installing to the device when hard resetting?
Aloha
Maybe I could ask this, is touchflo the software also operating the camera and other hardware?
I could also ask this, is there a plain rom with no touchflo that would still work with all the hardware on a raphael/fuze?
Mahalo
using hard reset
the first time i turn on fuze its installing the software, but then i soft reset it. Now, i have no touchflo 3d. maybe you can hard reset, then soft reset when it trying to install additional program.
Hi all, i have problems opening the menus under settings->personal->menus. It does not open when clicked on the icon "Menus". Any idea what is the cause of this issue?
I am using window mobile 6.1
Appreciate your help
Hi,
any help to resolve this is deeply appreciated. the menus is not able to open, is there a solution for this beside hard reset?
thanks
No idea why it has happened, have you tried a soft reset?
If yes, then try a hard reset...
i will not like to do a hard reset because it will be too much troublesome to reinstall all the programs i had.
i did a soft reset and it still cannot open when i click on the icon menus
If only 'Menu' not work, maybe first check the registry for that control panel item, ref. here.
If never play around with registry, please read the guide on this thread first.
The problem may also not from registry, but you may take some time to sort it out.
I would suggest to install QuickMenu First. Then you can take your time to fix it.
BTW if you only want to manage sttart menu, you can do it through editing the subfolders & items inside \Windows\Start Menu\
Over time I've had quite a few misspelled words accidentally added to the Hero's dictionary and I can't find how to clear everything out.
I've had the same issue. Would like to know how to clear it out and also, and how to prevent it from adding these words in the first place.
I found out how to reset the keyboard:
Go to the Applications menu in the Setting
Look for the program called "Touch Input"
Click on it, and then "clear data"
The whole keyboard will be reset to factory defaults.

Click to collapse
if you dont want the word added then press space after the word, as opposed to clicking the ball, or touching it on the screen.
Yea I didn't know how the whole thing worked at first since I just got the phone.

Hey, works great, thanks.
Hi,
Ive installed a number of 'Touch X' files etc etc to my Leo and its messed up my front page on HTC sense, i cant access the menu, change any quicklinks and the callender is slightly hiding the weather. I've tried uninstalling the files but a lot of them say 'cannot uninstall' or 'not uninstalled completely' etc.
Is there a way to restore HTC Sense to how it was originally?n Thanks in advance!
Try disabling Touch Sense in the Today settings, and try uninstalling then.
There are some files you can delete as well which remove the configuration, but without taking the TouchX files out first, it probably won't work.
thank you, il give that a go
it still gives the message that the file "was not completely removed"
any other suggestions?
check this thread for the original manila files as backup (also X Touch):

there is a way to hard restart your phone which delete ALL personal data and return your phone in factory defaults conditions
check here xda-developers > Leo, HTC HD2 > HD2 General
at the first Post [REF] *Leo Hints & Tips* - Things you may not have known. Updated 7th January.
look for the tip Number 15
15. How to Hard Reset your Phone
To hard reset your phone which means to delete ALL personal data and settings and have the phone in factory default conditions as if you turned on the phone for the first time after purchasing, press the following buttons:
1. With the device turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then briefly press the POWER button.
2. Continue pressing the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons until you see this message on the screen:
"This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to the manufacturer default settings. Press VolUp to restore manufacturer defaults, or press other keys to cancel."
3. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
4. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
You can also use Clear Storage to reset your device back to factory default settings.
1. On the Home screen, slide to the Settings tab and then tap All Settings.
2. On the System tab, tap Clear Storage.
3. Enter “1234” and then tap Yes.

but it doesnt work out so i have uninstall the cab but it doesnt work out

I see.
Did you soft reset after you uninstalled it?
If it doesn't, you can find the stock clock cab, or as Frank said, you'll have to hard reset....
They usually uninstall though.

Go to Settings\Device Information\Software Information and find your Manila Version there.
Then you need to find a clock for that version by searching eg, Manila Flip Clock 2.5.1921.
This will hopefully keep you from having to do a hard reset.
Anytime you uninstall a Manila tweak, you have to perform a soft reset, no data loss, by pulling out your stylus and pressing the small red button underneath.
If that doesn't fix it, you'll have to do a hard reset by powering off your phone, then hit power button, while holding both volume keys until white screen appears, then follow the onscreen promts. This will set your phone back to factory settings and all data stored on it will be deleted.

It should do the trick, I've instaled and uninstalled that clock myself and it worked after a soft reset.
Nice work on those clocks BTW.....
