Finally Tornado AKU2 UNLOCK SIM CID UNLOCK - HTC Tornado

Hi guys, after a week trying to get rid off the AKU2 Update that i've done to my spv c600(orange), I managed a really stupid but working way to unlock it.
SO here it is:
enter in this website (http://spvunlock.rd.francetelecom.com), and put the information asked (if you dont have orange number phone, do like I did it, and put one "0" (without commas).
Passed 30 minutes you receive in your email the link to one cab that will decertify your phone (cause the regedit hasnt able to run).
Next, you download "smartione" (is one aplication that do the same that regedit, and another stuff).
when you get it installed in PC, you run it, with mobile sync in activesync, and then go "file", "options", and when you see "mode_edition=1" change the "1" to "2" and save, then you go "tools", "registry editor", ""hkey local machine", "security", "policies", "policies", and change the value of "00001005" to "40".
Now you are able to run the cert.cab that come with SPV-Services, and then you can run smootly the SPV-Services and unlock your device without any problem.
See ya

How To Guide for Firware Update on the SDA

After searching all over the net for a guide and reading a ton of forums I decided to write this guide.
First Off:
I AM NOT RESPONISBLE FOR YOUR MISTAKES, BAD FILES or ANY OTHER PROBLEMS THAT ARRISE FROM THIS GUIDE!!!
1. Read this before doing anything!
2. If you can see the 3 Color bars on the screen and USB in the bottom left then you can reflash the device. This is the boot loader screen for the SDA. To get to this (while the phone is off) you have to hold down the camera button, then hold down the power button until the screen goes white. Then let go of the buttons. It does not matter if the USB is plugged in yet or not.
3. I have only seen Radio updates load on aftermarket firmware. Meaning not HTC or T-Mobile firmware. You should load the radio update last. If you try to load it on a factory firmware your phone will not boot as it is not a certified app, or at least thats what i belive the problem to be. I havent heard of any one making it work.
4. Copy down all the settings from your proxy, connections and mms settings. To get to the MMS go to the messages, MMS, then MENU, then OPTIONS, ACCOUNT OPTIONS, MMS. Copy those and then hit MENU and MMSC Settings also.
Step One: Get the files...
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com U: xda or xdaupload P: xda
ActiveSync 4.2
RegEditSTG.cab or regedit.exe
SPV-Services
Newest Firmware as of 8/29/06 - Dopod_586W_Romcode_AKU2_Update.exe
Newest Radio as of 8/29/06 - Tornado_Radio_4[1].1.13.19_02.37.01
Connect SDA to PC
------------------
1. First Install ActiveSync and then reboot the PC.
2. Now backup all of your files and contacts from the SDA.
Backup Key Files
----------------
3. Inside ActiveSync there is an 'Explore' button. Press this and goto the \Windows Folder.
4. Copy all the files that start with Short_XXX and Long_XXX to your desktop. These assign diffrent tasks to the buttons on the SDA. They are read only so you must uncheck the read only box on the file to edit them. To edit these you have to open notepad.exe and drag over the file. Later we will copy these back.
App Unlock Phone
----------------
5. Copy over the regedit.exe or the RegEditSTG.cab and run them from the SDA.
6. Go to HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies and press the Values key.
7. Now edit the '00001001' and set it's Value Data to 1. (Default is 2 on mine)
8. Now edit the '00001005' and set it's Value Data to 40. (Default is 16 on mine)
9. Copy over the Cert.cab file from the SPV-Services folder to the SDA and run it from the File Manager. Say yes and it should say successfull. If not you will have to research the problem as the phone must be App Unlocked to finish this guide.
Unlock Phone and set SuperCID
-----------------------------
10. In the SPV-Services folder, run the SPVServices.exe. It should say ALL OK in big letters and RAPI Init was successfull. If not please reasearch the problem as the phone must be unlocked and have SuperCID '11111111' Set to work.
11. Click the SIMLock Tool on the left. Type in AGREE and hit Login.
12. If the button says UnLock then press it. Otherwise don't.
13. Now click the CID Tool button on the left.
14. You should now have a button that says 'Set CID = 11111111'. Press this button.
15. Close the app.
Load The Firmware
-----------------
16. Now close any open apps but this screen and run the 'Dopod_586W_Romcode_AKU2_Update.exe' or whaterver firmware you are using.
17. Check all the boxes and say update if you are sure you want to update.
18. If you use the firmware I have listed it will default to Chinese but it has English. Others may or may not so be carefull!!!
19. It can take a few minutes because it has to upload 45mb or so of data to the phone. You will see the progress bar on the screen as it is updating. DO NOT TURN OFF THE PHONE!!
20. The phone will reboot by its self after a while. Some people have reported up to 20 minutes for it to work so BE PATIENT! If it never reboots then good luck!
21. When the phone reboots it will most likly be in some other language. It will load the OS settings and you will have to hit the left key when asked to reboot the phone agian.
Change the language:
--------------------
22. Go to |START|SETTINGS|0|2|Press the joystick to the right till you see english. Now press the left key to accept.
23. It will tell you that you have to reboot to take effect.
24. Press the back arrow 3 times (this closes apps in the SDA in case you did not know).
25. Power off then power on the phone.
26. Now go back to |START|SETTINGS|0|2| and change your local to whatever you want.
27. Now go to the Clock and change it to your time zone.
28. Power off and then power on the phone.
Radio Update
------------
29. Now close any open apps but this screen and run the 'ROMUpdateUtility.exe'.
30. Check all the boxes and say update if you are sure you want to update.
31. When the phone is back online you will be using the newest radio update for the SDA.
Restore Keys
------------
32. Now copy the key files you copied off, back to the \windows folder on the SDA.
33. Reboot and they should work. I have had problems with the # key not going to the silent profile anymore.
Unlock Agian
------------
34. Go back to the 'Unlock Phone and set SuperCID' section (step 10 - 15) and follow the same steps.
Now for your settings
---------------------
35. Add all those connection settings back into the phone.

Above is a link to a very good guide full of registry stuff and other things. Read it, its worth it.
After Dopod update
rom: 2.0.9.0
Operator: 2.6.37.0
Radio: 413.1.04_02.09.00
After Radio update
rom:2.0.9.0

Radio: 4.1.13.19_02.37.01

One more thing about unlock. In the registry editor Policies key, you also want to add the following:
Now add a new DWORD value '0000101b' and set it's Value Data to 1. (It probably won't exist on your device, but if it does then just edit the value)
This sets the security model to Single-Tier, which will actually app-unlock the phone without having to edit the other two values listed in the guide (although I always change those as well just to be safe)
Notifications
Some people were also asking about the message notifications. The screen is not clearing on my device so I found a couple of links that might help.

my first rom upgrade for the sda, thanks to your easy to follow faq... many thanks!
interestingly enough, I didn't have to copy the keys back to the windows folder... strangely, the media keys already work. The only thing I don't like about this rom (as opposed to the ship rom I had) is that the english font looks different.
2 problems I'm having with Dopod_586W_Romcode_AKU2_Update.exe are full english support and inability to run spcservices which render it useless. I'm getting an error code for both SIM and CID. Also the english language support isn't all there. When I go to wifi setting and wpa, all the chars aren't there. No '_' and no '$', among many others.
No English T9
As much as I love the Dopod Rom, sooo fast, the lack of english t9 makes it unusable for me...

Need Help! Application Unlock

I´ve bought an O2 XDA-Phone at eBay for my Wife. After I´ve done the Update from O2, the SDA Application Unlock says: Device is not unlockable. Is their another way to do that? I have a Vodafone SIM and every 10 min. there comes a SMS from the Network with current date and time. I think it´s the O2 Homezone and i don´t know how to interrupt the Setup at the Beginning of a Hardreset.
Could please anybody help me?
Sorry.. this seems like a weird one. Maybe that's why no one's jumping in to help you. I've thought about it a little bit, and I can't think of what to tell you.. Maybe I'll keep thinking if you're continuing to have this problem.
There is another way to app unlock. This is not the first person to ask. I think a search should do it.
Search shows me this:
Download this application.
1: Run program htcunlock cvs on PC
2: Find program that is created on your phone on the startmenu in on device
3: Run exe and cross fingers (It changes settings in registry, wait for the Smiley!)
4: Powerdown and Powerup!
Or, follow this link.
Or this one.
Alternatively, your phone may already be unlocked... but has no bearing on your SMS issue. Try the first few steps of Karhoe's flashing tutorial, which covers unlocking. If it says it's unloacked, then the text message thing is something else.

Just tried Hard-SPL, but got problems!

Hi All:
I've been studying this site, and hundreds of posts, and finally got up the nerve to try to unlock my Treo today. Unfortunately, it does not seem that it worked.
I just tried Hard-SPL in order to unlock my Treo 750 Cingular (US).
I was not able to get through all three steps.
Got "Unhandled Exception Has Occurred, Continue or Quit" I continued.
After three or four tries, I was able to get to the point where a message popped up: "Congratulations! Process complete!"
Powered off Treo, inserted TMoble SIM card, and got this:
"Simlock: You have tried 3 times. Please wait until timeout"
Cannot get past this message.
What happened? What point am I at?
If I press reset and hold the bottom button on the left, the screen says:
Palm Tr
IPL-0.20
Palm Tr
SPL-0.21.0000
Can anyone help?
the hard spl did not work. you do have net compact framework 2.0 on your computer? what i did on mine was go into your c drive. there is a file that says tempche. delete that file. then run the unlocker process again from the beginning.
.net framework?
Well, well, well!
I have .NET Framework 2.0 SP1 installed.
However! I do not have .NET Compact Framework installed!
I'll try that, and let you know how I do.
Thanks!
Unbelieveable!!!
OK, this is UNfreakinBelievable!
I got it working!!!
I now have my Treo 750 SIM unlocked. And, for good measure, I had it do a CID unlock!
I used the CheetahUnlocker.exe program from Olipro. (The internal version number of the program is 1.0.0.0, dated 2007, and the internal Program Name is AthenaUnlocker.exe.)
Once I installed the .NET Compact Framework onto my PC and Treo, everything went pretty smoothly.
During Step 2 of CheetahUnlocker, (Unlock Radio) I did have to manually copy two of the files that were in the c:\tmpche on the PC: Athena_Unlock.exe and CheetahPatched.nbh to the Treo, then run Athena_Unlock on the Treo. I checked both "SIM Unlock" and "CID Unlock", and clicked "Unlock"
I did run Step 3 of CheetahUnlocker, (Flash Normal Radio), as I had read that it was important to put the "normal" radio software back in.
Once the unlock procedure was done, I powered off the Treo, removed the cover and battery, and inserted my Tmobile SIM. Once I re-installed the battery and cover, the Treo booted up, and allowed me to go right to the phone dial pad. I tried calling my home number, and it worked!!!
Then I went in and set up the MODEM settings, and tried to get on the Internet. Success!!!
And, not only do I now have phone and Internet, all of my contacts, scheduling, and notes were transferred from my old phone to the new one!
the only thing left to do is set up my email. Which I'll leave for tomorrow. Right now, I need to get to bed (it's 11:40pm), but I'm so psyched, I'll probably not sleep!
Olipro, you're the greatest!
And nuwayman, thanks for tipping me off to the part I would never have figured out on my own... the "compact" in .NET Compact Framework!!!
I know that, to many of you, this process was nothing. But, to me, it was a nerve-wracking experience, wondering if I was going to destroy my shiny "new" Treo 750 by trying to unlock it!
Thanks to all of you for your efforts in making this all possible.
YAAAAYYYYYY!
Now I can retire my Treo 600!!!!
And...figure out how to unlock my "new" Treo 650!!!
congrats
way to go in figuring it out. enjoy your new phone.

Tethering not working after Sprint 6.5 update. HELP

Installed the Sprint Stock 6.5 ROM (upgrading from Stock 6.1 ROM) and I have 2 issues. (1) I was able to USB tether via ICS and WModem Fix cab and wifi tether via HTC WifiSharing cab before (no registry edits) with no problem. After installing the update, I cannot tether with either. I don't want to use PdaNet because I've read it is not as consistent as the cabs. I live in a rural area where broadband is almost non-existent and was excited that the cab worked on 6.1. The ICS cab downloads and creates a Sprint option, but the PC will not connect to the network. After clicking connect, the status changes to "check usb cable" and just stays there. Nothing is wrong with the cable, because Active Sync works fine. I installed Mr. X Tethering Tracking Hotfix cab, and it didn't help. I installed Calkulin's Tethering Hotfix cab, and it didn't work either. I even downloaded Merlin (Marlin) registry editor & attempted my first registry edit following Boo Boo's instructions, and that didn't work. Someone please tell me what the problem could be. And, no, I don't get the 67 error. I have an active data connection, but the tethering just won't work. Should I reflash the 6.5 ROM to clear the cabs and registry edits (remove programs doesn't remove some of these cabs)?
(2) Problem on 6.1 and now 6.5. Seems I have a ghost text message. My Inbox folder path is showing 1 unread text message, though, there isn't one. Against my own will, I even cleared out my text folder (in, out, draft, sent & deleted), and it still shows. Any suggestions on this as well? Besides those two issues, I like the 6.5 update.
Sprint TouchPro2 (stock 6.5)
I'm wifi sharing on my TP2 (WM6.5) with no probs. Can you give me some pointers on gett USB tethering going? I've installed ICS and WMonde Fix cab and Mr. X and MightyMike Tethering Tracking Hotfix cab but can't find any new applications on my phone.
Thnx,
found this over at ppc geeks it seems to do the trick...
- Enable USB Teathering -
(please omit the "" in all of these entries)
1. Go to: [HKLM\Services\CMGuardian]
2. Create a new DWORD Value called "Flags" and set the value data to "4"
(if it is already there then skip)
3. Softreset
4. Go to: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing]
5: Delete the "isext.dll" entry
6. Go to: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings]
7. Change "ForceCellConnection" from "PhoneAsModem" to "Sprint"
8. Softreset
**You should now be able to use ICS, but make sure your data connection is already
intialized prior to using (open a web browser of check your mail) or you may be
asked for a user name and password.**

The problem I've been having thus far (on my Touch Pro2, WM 6.5) is that I can set ForceCellConnection to "Sprint", but when I softreset, it's automagically set back to "Phone as Modem".
I've seen suggestions that Windows/HTC_CM_Guardian.exe is the culprit, but replacing that file with an empty exe by the same name hasn't solved the problem for me.
So I'm trying this suggestion now. Fingers crossed. Can you verify... is the "Flags" value supposed to be a DWORD (as opposed to String or otherwise)?
Also, I'm intrigued by this entry [HKLM\Services\CMGuardian\Dll]. Perhaps it's that CM_Guardian_Service.dll that's the real (or new?) culprit which is causing the registry to be reset. Do I dare replace that dll with a dummy dll?
-------------------------------
UPDATE: I just checked my registry after following lnando84's instructions. (Indeed, "Flags" should be a DWORD value of 4.) The value of "Sprint" wasn't reset on softreset, and USB tethering is working for me. Thank you!

HELP! CANT GET SPC TO 00000s on TOUCH PRO 2

Okay I have a Sprint Touch pro 2 I want to flash it to cricket, I have already ran the Hard SPL unlocker which then enabled me to flash various different ROMs onto the phone. The problem is that I cannot get the SPC to be all 0s so that I can get *228 to work on cricket. I already called Cricket and they have switched the phone over. I have also already installed a cricket carrier cab. I attempted to run the same protocol in Ryan mogul's thread using the BAF MSL Grabber but it wont work. Can someone please tell me what I am missing here. I have searched everywhere and nothing has proven helpful.
Try dialing ##778, a screen will pop up, click edit. I'm not sure where the SPC setting will be, so BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL NOT TO CHANGE ANYTHING YOU DON'T NEED TO!! The unlock code will be 000000 (6 Zero's).
I also found this:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=89637
No the phone is brand new from the factory I am pretty sure I need to change the SPC code to all 0s. As a brand new phone out of the box will have its own SPC code then once you change it to 0s you can put the PST settings in. Or does the Hard SPC unlocker already do this?
This is the only other thing I've been able to find regarding the matter.

If you have a Sprint Touch Pro2 this is the only way to get your MSL other then to call sprint.
1. You need a Reg edit tool like PHM RegEdit or resco registy editor.
2. Go to HKLM\Software\HTC\ATDbgLog
3. Edit item called "Enable" and change from "0" to "1" (leave out quotes.) Save changes.
4. Exit PHM RegEdit or resco registy editor.
5. Shutdown/turnoff device.
6. Turn back on.
7. Once turned on leave running for 1 minute or longer (a log files is being created durring this time in the "\Atlog" folder.)
8. After 1 min go back into registry and set value back to "0". Make sure to save changes and exit PHM RegEdit or resco registy editor.
9. Shutdown device again and turn back on.
10. Varify that the Registry value is still set to "0", if not then repeat above steps and wait 1 min before shutting down the second time in step 9.
11. Now you should open Explorer and go to the folder "\Atlog" in the root directory of your device.
12. You shoould see a file called "ATDbg0" (the "0" may be another number like 1), if your using another file browser you may see the full file name include the "xtx" extention. This file is a text file and can be opened in Word mobile.
13. open the file and use the find feature to locate "RMSL", you should soon find a line item that includes a 6 digit number, this is your MSL code.
after you have the spc put the phone into diag mode and connect with qpst and change to all zeros
