Stock + better - Wing, P4350 ROM development

I was wondering if there was a rom like the stock one but wm 6.1 and a whole LOT faster and better?
not sure if this goes here??

I think it depends on what you mean by stock! If you mean herald Stock possibly...if you mean TMobile Stock...then No.
Cooked ROMs use the stock OS the chefs tweak it to make them faster and better!

What is the most generic WM6 wizard ROM?

I am looking for the most generic WM6 ROM that has the base and drivers, no tweaks or utilities. Like a retail HTC WM6 rom. Any suggestions? thanks
Also, any idea how to increase earpiece volume on the MDA (currently have XDA WM6 ROM).

NTS Vanilla seems ok, but it is a bit dated and does not have the new WM6 interface.
What do You mean by new WM6 interface?
Did I miss something big lately?
[ Or do You just mean TouchFLO interface? ]

Thats funny actually. You ask for a completely vanilla / stock WM6 rom with no extras. Someone points you to one that is pretty close to as vanilla, and you complain its missing "the new WM6 interface". Sounds to me like you are not wanting a stock rom
If you truely want plain / stock do a search for the Ingenetics rom. Its as basic and bare as they come and pretty much like what is delivered from Microsoft. Yes, its "older" too, but thats because there are no real roms for the Wizard after that one. Newer ones are ports from other devices.
Here's good list of roms from someone around here
http://rapidshare.com/users/IW25NT
The second one down is the latest clean wm6 to my knowledge

Very nice collection.
I would like to first say thanks to you for your painstaking work.
I would request you if you can give me the Original Base Rom which Ingenetics submitted. I have searched a lot but could not get it

What really makes a ROM fast?

Hi Guys,
Ever since I got my Fuze I've been flashing ROMs left and right. I've tried almost all of them, and I've become curious about what really makes the Cooked ROMs faster? What I've found so far is that the pagepool is supposed to make quite a difference, but I was wondering if there were any other factors.
Thanks
I would be curious about that two
I would guess that more registry tweaks. Also less software running in the background.
I was wondering the same thing but how does another ROM versus the stock ATT ROM? Is there that much of a difference?
I dont know if its worth the whole hard reset to flash another ROM from my stock ATT without the bloatware. Is it worth going to the ROMeO rom?
Also, how about the neccessory programs like Opera or IE or the settings of the phone?
Sorry for so many questions...

It really really REALLY is worth it. I mean its so much faster its ridiculous. Looking back, I can't even believe I put up with the stock AT&T ROM. ROMeOS so far is the fastest I've used, but NATF 2.2 is the one I've used with the least errors or problems. Right now I would recommend the stable build of ROMeOS, even though it is quite old, I've had some problems with the newer ones.

thanks for the feedback. can you recommend the version of the ROMeOS or the NATF ROM for the Fuze?
Which one is better for a newbie and I do like some of the ATT programs like quickgps, youtube, etc.

I'm running ROMeOS 1.51 right now. I highly recommend it. It's light-weight, fast, stable, and no-hassle.
after searching the ROMeOS ROM 1.51 there are two versions...1 for the FUZE and one for the Raphael.
I have the Fuze but read that its not too stable. For the people that have the ATT Fuze, which one are you using?
thanks for the answers maybe i will flash and do a ROMeOS, but on a stock At&t Rom how much does eliminating the bloatware help as far as speed

The Raphael version of ROMeOS works just fine on the Fuze. 1.50.5/1.51 works great! Just remember to get the Fuze keyboard CAB
I still have the same question as the OP.
Someone posted registry edits and less software running.
Ok, well I can do registry edits easily on stock rom.
As far as less software running. What software exactly? Just leaving software out of the base install isn't going to speed anything else, it'll just save some device storage.
My VZW TP boots up and doesn't have any programs running. I see some services certainly are running, but I'd figure those are necessary to the OS.
So what exactly does a cooked ROM to do make the device faster?

WANTED: SUPERCLEAN WM 6.5 Tytn II/KAISER ROM to lear to cook with

Before you get out the flamethrowers, I have read about 3,000 posts this morning looking for as bare-bones a TYTN II ROM as I can get. I have some 6.5 ROMS some other cooks have made but I am not sure I have the skills to strip out what needs to be stripped out.
If you have a Kaiser/TYTN II Stripped ROM (UC Compliant if possible), please let me know where I can download it from.
Thanks.
I have one made. Very extreme lite. Only 21mb in use. 101 RAM hack.

Any chance of finding (getting?) clean ROMs of WM 6.1 and 6.5? Without any customizations... A clean start towards my first kitchen
Thanks but...

It appears your ROM uses Manila, which I am not really in love with.
What should truly be in a bare bones ROM?

the question is: what should truly be in a bare bones ROM?
NET 3.5
Activesync
Almost everything else should be done with UC cabs, IMHO

Paradox,
What rom do you use for your Kaiser TytnII when you run android?
I want a light rom that will allow me to use my phone when I can't use android.
Thanks
Lance
i test this
You will need to search and flash all the roms in this area to find the one that fits you best.
Closing thread.
Good luck on your findings.

I've tried custom ROM's cooked from this version, and I've been using this official release from HTC for a couple of days... there is no difference at all in battery drain, and I would even suggest that this official ROM is smoother and speedier than some of the cooked ROM's I've tried! Each to their own
The main HTC website will not accept my serial number - is there any where else to get this rom?
cheers
New HTC ROM..

Spot on. I think the other poster never tried the latest official rom because it is faster and the battery is slightly better than most of the custom roms I have used. I think this one is keeper just for the faster Manila 2.5 (faster than any custom rom using the Rhodium/Topaz friendly Manila). Navigation is much more fluid.
thanks for the link looby.
Is this rom network unlocked? as my current one is sim free and works on any network?
cheers

It is and it is exactly the same as the one on the HTC site..
ok, i think i go update to this rom and see

I'm in Australia (part of Asia Pacific)- which ROM should I use??
New Topaz ROM..
There is another thread on this ROM upgrade if you search. I saw this on it I don't know if it is what you are looking for..
Asia WWE 2.53.707.4 is now available: http://www.htc.com/sea/SupportViewNe...15&news_id=599
HTC tell me my serial number is an eastern-european handset. Does anybody know if I can still use the WWE Rom?
Is this the same exact ROM which Htcpedia posted long time ago?
Can someone confirm if adding words to T9 works, does it remember?
can anyone confirm that this is an Asia and UK rom only? as i understand it, this update is not available for North America, correct?
As far as I test on this new ROM, I think the only slow part is the home tab, it may probably cause by the buttom shortcuts, if you hide them, the performance will be better.
Other than this small issue, I think generally it perform much better than the previous official ROM, not just the major improvement of the user interface, but also the program running performance.
Can someone advise as to the version of WinMo in this upgrade? Is it 6.5 or have HTC moved to 6.5.x? Am debating whether to go for this or stay where I am.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Balders
According to Settings it's just 6.5 Professional.
Hope that helps.
It does thank you...but it is a shame that they have not taken the opportunity to advanc the version of WinMo...but then I suppose that we should be thanksful that they have taken the trouble to offer a Sense update.

Why can't I find a nice SMOOTH rom?!?!

I'm looking and trying things out, but not having much luck. I don't care for the fancy icons and such. Just want something that's QUICK! Anybody have and suggestions?
I found my answer
What ROM is it? I'm using Pavenmaverick ROM wich I got from forum.ppcgeeks.com for about 1 month and I like it so much, especially after using MSM72k overclock app, my TP2 is better than ever!
Running Sprint Basics 1.4 ROM. Very smooth and have about 45% ram available all the time.
they have the phone overclocked?!?!? where is this app, and what do i need to know to make it work!?
thanks!

I was almost forced to switch phones when I found the rom and now I am good to go for another year at least.
Also everything works even the mms which never worked from day one even on the Mighty rom this mms feature didnt work but this Maverick SPB Mobile Shell ROM works great out of the box no additional cabs needed except the provision cab.(( use this cab it works great for Verizon or Sprint dcd's carrier cab ))and no lockups.
Whom ever made this rom deserves a BIG Thank YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check this rom out you will love it removed all the htc sense from it and uses SPB mobile shell and it brings new life to the TP2 for Sprint or Verizon CDMA phones only
You can find everything here:::::forum.ppcgeeks.com/cdma-tp2-development/133595-blazing-fast-stable-maverick-mobileshell-rom-sys-23135-updated.html[/url]
