Any1 know how to completely disable (i dont want it in memory too) Touch FLO?
Hey...
Try this:
\\\REGISTRY\HKLM\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings\
EnableCube = 0 (original = 1)
It worked on my MDA Touch and i know it worked on some Orbit 2 too....
Tweaking instead of On/Off
The Polaris also has a number of other registry entries under TFLOSettings that, in addition to allowing you to turn Touch FLO on or off, also enable you to tweak its sensitivity. Does anyone know if these settings documented somewhere? I've done a search and found bits and pieces of information but not all the information in one place. Thanks.
WHY, oh why?

Question: Why would you want to disable TouchFLO? I personally think TFLO is the best invention since sliced bread...

I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=351082 under Tips & Tricks (post #6) from the Nike forum but it works on the Polaris. I changed the Touch Flo settings on both my Nike and Polaris from 15 to 50 and now it's much faster. Hope this helps, let me know.
Excluding Apps from TouchFlo

I like TFLO. However, certain apps like PhatPad which I use don't behave well with it. So I would like to exclude certain apps from TFLO. I could do this with fTouchFlo by editing a config file. However, I don't know how to do this with TFLO and a search didn't find anything. Anyone help would be appreciated.
Disable TouchFLO - to do or not to do . . .

Good for you. To each his own.
I DON'T like it.
I want to use stylus or buttons only. I don't give a damn about finger functions on the screen.
Let people do what they want. Help them if you are interested and you can, but no need to denigrate them.
Don't take this as a flame - no offense intended - I just recognize that whatever feature exists for any mechanical device, some will love it, some will be indifferent, some will hate it.

I am not sure that is possible. Your best best is to make the PhatPad developers aware of whatever issues you are having so a possible fix can be applied to future versions of the app.
I want also disable TouchFlo and replace it with the 4 cube version SCLPF
Hello, I have my polaris for a week now.
But I have the oppsite problem. My TFLO is disabled, but I don't know why!
I dont have my Polaris in landscape mode, so it should work.
I don't have any strange programms installed.
Can anyone help me with this?
TFLO has reg settings to disable for certain apps. Eg there's one for photo album there.
Is there anyway I can benefit from TouchFlo and some of the SPB softwares (like phone suite, Spb diary, mobile shell etc.) both?
I would like to see multiple appointments on my today screen and also the task list by categories which is very important.
Moreover, I have found that the sound stuff doesnt work properly on any of these roms available here unless i use mobile shell which really keeps phone silent only when i have a calender item that marks me busy. TouchFlo sound option keeps the phone silent eventhough someone's birthday is there on the calendar or even if my out of office event is there on calendar..
when i killed twice manilla2d.exe all that absolutly useless (for me and maybe some other users) stuff as panel in the bottom and large alarm clock which makes my device stupid disappeared. now there is clean screen with wallpaper. very nice, i like it but there is string "tap here to launch touchflo tm". is it possible to disable manilla2d.exe startup on every boot and this start link on the screen? (via system registry file?)
so when it is completely disabled it would be perfect to have some tiny alternative as clock in system tray or on the screen. and one more useful possible function is smth like custom desktop shortcuts.
do you now such software programs?
htc touch elf, wm 6.1

does anyone know how its right get his TNT roms to scroll extremely fast in comparison to other roms? is it something that need to be cook into the rom or is it just a registry edit?
I use KaiserTweak to do it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=349009
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=333898
i dont' see the setting for it. what is it under?
Damn it! I thought was KaiserTweak that I used to change these settings, I'm going to find out what was...
Sorry!
I'd also be keen to know... my wife uses one of the TNT Roms on her Wizard; I'm cooking my own and really like the faster scrolling!!
TIA
then dump your wife's registry and compare the difference with CERegEditor. You can compare two reg files, and all that will be shown are differences.
I hope you will post the results here.
I personaly don't like scroling too fast. so I cooked the diamonds, smart scroling dlls to help me stop scroling too fast. it actually works quite well in my rom. I can actualy stop the scroling with the pressing of my finger without accidentaly opening a program.
the packages for scroling and gesture are located in the diamond cabs and oem thread on the dev/hacking forum. worth the 40mb download just for these two things.
i no longer have a wizard to compare registry, but would like to apply the speedy scroll to my tilt.
I've noticed
on my Hermes, that when the windows directory starts to get bogged down with all kinds of crap it affects the scrolling.
Try the attach file and see if it helps!
I use "AdvancedConfig" to change this
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd]
"RepeatRate"=dword:00000017
"InitialDelay"=dword:000000ff
"EnableIndicator"=dword:00000001
thanks to its right.
thanks a lot its right.that is what i was looking for ages.you registry settings is working great.scrooling is very fast now.thanks again.
can the setting be apply to the kaiser with the same effect? and is the hex or decimals.
thanks for the setting again.
Set the speed of scorling as you like from start/settings/buttons/Up/Down Control ,, then take the values from the registry and include them in your cooking.
it work on my kaiser like a charm. now i just got to figure out how to write a cab file or it.
Hi ppl. I want to get rid of all TF functionalities from TP,that means TodayPlugin,Scrolling,etc...which is a part of that rubbish. Could anyone point me,how to do that? I think that Hardreset without installation of that cab can be the way,but I don't know, where to find all other cabs shipped(as ExtROM). Next thing...if someone wants to make a test after hardreset to interrupt the cabs installation procedure to disable that,I want to know,if the home/back keys will lost also their default functions without installation...someone to try it(I don't want to hardreset just for test)? If these things will be successfully for me,I will do that. Thanks.
I think it's start menu, settings, then something to get to a menu where there's a check box next to TF3D, and uncheck it.
Thanks for your tip,but I am afraid, you misunderstood my question. I want to disable EVERYTHING,that is 'extended' by the TF,not only Homescreen. Especially touch scrolling(HTC's solution is very lazy,I want to use SPB PocketPlus) and home/back keys functions(I want to handle them with AEBPlus). Simply I want to have a kind of lite ROM without any TF functionalities.
goto Window\StartUp\ and remove the .exe for touchflo
n copy it to some other folder. finally softreset...
I have deleted all of them, those were there as default(AutoShortcut.lnk,HTCStartUp.lnk,PKG.lnk,poutlook.lnk and Services.lnk),but it doesn't help absolutely. I have in startup some shortcuts, but they are known things(Chronos,AEBPlus,GPRS Monitor,auto-SIP script). No TF shortcut is presented, even I see all files in system including hidden/system.

You should be able to disable touchflo scrolling using Schap's Advanced Config. I don't have a TP, but i know the settings are in Advanced Config. You might try there.
Did it already,no success...

A couple questions:
1) Are you using the most updated version...3.2 i believe?
2) Did you soft reset immediately after making the changes?
3) What features are still remaining, that you're trying to get rid of and which ones have you managed to remove?

I don't think the home/back keys are tied to touchflo, but you might be able to remap them using the key mapping in advanced config. I obviously don't know since i have a touch pro, but i know that some keys can be remapped using that program. Also i know that some of the updates in Advanced Config are related to changes that weren't sticking on the TP, so hopefully that's yoru problem.
Just to share: I tried all the above methods to disable Touchflo (finger scrolling) and it didn't work for me.
- unchecked scrolling in Settings -> Touchflo
- disabled touchflo scrolling using HTC Advanced Config
I got it working by doing the following:
Create a zero byte file and copy/overwrite the following files:
\Windows\Biotouch.exe
\Windows\Biotouch.dll
\Windows\StartUPBiotouch.exe
Now I am get my scribble pad (RemindMe / PhatPad) to work properly without the lag
Good luck!

This is my first post here and I am not writing a lot of threads...
Therefore, please accept my apologize for not using the correct thread name/title for this. Hope [Q] is correct for a question. Oh, and you might have already recognized that I am not native english...
My question is:
Thanks to the help of all the great developers here, I was able to find a lot of really good programs and tools here which make my HD2 the gadget of my dreams. I have tested A LOT of tools for my device and spent a lot of time to find out the "best configuration and setting". However, I can not figure out the following by myself:
I tested the well known BSB Tweak (Version 1.6) and the HD2 Tweak (English Version 1.2.0) Both have their good parts: BSB has this great Rotation option and "MAnila Left Softkey change". HD2 Tweak allows me to disable the annoying Phone Keypad sounds (this is important for me) and allows me to set A-GPS (although I have to admit that I didn't yet figured out what the activation effects-isn't it the same as using QuickGPS???). and some other
stuff...
I remember reading that it is not recommended to have both applications running.
(What a long introduction...) The Question:
Does anybody know for sure if these two programs are interfering each other?
In addition I have installed the Chainfire Patch (which is great for games) and the "TX 3d Performance Update" which I found here:
[REF] [Sense 2.5 tweaks & mods][CABS] Thread
(I can not post direct links)
(second post, dated 26th February)
Do they interfere? Can I install both? I worry that I might install "too much" tweaks which claim to speed up my device but, in the end, slow it down because there are just too much tweaks running which collide...
EDIT: Just noticed that this was already asked by somebody else in the thread. Obviously, the 3d performance patch is replacing Chainfire. Does this mean I do not need to install chainfire at all?
Finally: Is there any cab somewhere to add the "ebook reader tab" to Manila?
I am using ROM 1.66.407.1 with Manila 2.5.19211619.0 and was, so far, only able to add the Manila TV Tab...
Thanks in advance for your help!
I am willing to offer something in return:
If anybody is interested (please let me know, otherwise I will not have to do this) I could write something like a "Guide to the ideal set-up for your new HD2". This "guide" is meant more for beginners who would like to have instructions which programs to install and which settings to made to have a great HD2. I know that there are a lot of threads around here with collections of programs and tools but there is not thread which says "Ok, your're a NOOB so just follow this guide and install these programs... and you are fine" . This guide will also include some nice hints which I did figure out by myself.
Anyway, please let me now if such thing would be a good idea. It will be a lot of work so I do not want to write it "for nothing" (if you know what I mean).
Thanks and, again, sorry for any mistake!

I first used BSB Tweaks 1.6. Later I came across HD2Tweaks 1.2 and installed that too.
Since both apps make changes to the registry, it would not be wise to run it at the same time
The hassle with BSB Tweaks is NCF 3.5 must already be installed prior to running it. Also, I noted that BSB Tweaks does not read the registry first upon running. I came across this when I had to re-load all my apps, patches and tweaks recently. I first ran HD2Tweak to make the necessary changes and then ran BSB Tweaks to do screen rotation setting for some apps. That's how I found out.
Since I found replacement programs for screen capture and screen rotation which are features not found on HD2Tweak, I uninstalled BSB Tweaks 1.6.
I did not install the chainfire patch. Hence unable to make comments on it. I do play games though .

You don't need any tweaks for this. It's an option for turning it off in settings. settings-menu-more-private-phone-keypad.

I am using pocket XNView, www.xnviewpocket.org
It has a screen capture feature in the options where one can set a timer for the screen capture to be triggered. There are a couple of other free standalone screen capture apps e.g. www.iliumsoft.com/site/fp/screen_capture.php I have downloaded this as a stand-by just in case I ditch pocket XNview.

The screen rotation method I used is a program assigned to the left-hand button.
It cannot rotate the home screen for which I am fine with that.
did you ever get anywhere with your idea for 'noobs'? I would like some easier method to get all the basics that wont interfere with each other. Havent attempted messing with the registry until I get a little better feel for these things, but I probably should update my ROM-I think???
YES I would love a beginners guide. I can give it to my sister and everyone I know who has the HD2. I just got it and someone directed me here for tweeks but I've never done a tweek!!!
hey,
I have a Touch Pro, and I tried some ROM's but it seems that the autorotate function never works. I can't find it in the settings. Is there a tool to fix this or what do you recommend to do.
Somebody knows a ROM that doesn't have this problem.

Check my signature for my preferred ROM of choice.
NOTE ::
If you have tried ROMs that include Flip-It or BSB G-Config, and you want the rotation, do not, I repeat, DO NOT clean your Invalid Registry Values or Invalid Registry Keys with ClearTemp, SKTools, or Pocket Mechanic. I can verify that all of these "cleaner" apps will, by default, delete the Rotation Registry String... unless you manually Ignore the Rotation Keys.
I prefer Auto-Rotation to be off, beings that I usually have my Fuze in a Belt Pouch [Landscape Orientation]. Slide-Out rotation ftw!

I keep it off because with it on, the camera does not correctly rotate photos once they are taken.
I've included the SensorSDK 4.2 from the Rhodium S2 ROM in my newest ROM, but I replaced the HTCSensorService.dll with the 3.3 from the Touch Pro. Result? Nothing will rotate but Album (which I removed from the whitelist) because it handles its own rotation. GSensor calibrator works. Do I need a 3rd party program or what to get autorotation working in all programs with the Raph?
