Hello, i've been searching around, and cant find anyone with the same problem, so i'll go ahead and make a new post.
Today i got my new phone, and i have a problem turning on the phone after just 40-50min use.
My problem is that every time i try to boot the phone, the screen just lights up really bright white, and then shuts down (this happens no matter what battery i use, it came with 2)
The same white screen appears when i connect the poweradapter. While its running from the poweradapter (not running, just making a fan-sound, tho i doubt its any fans in there) it doesnt react if i press the power button, so i am suspecting the batterie(s)' are the problem.
Thanks for any help

Hi,
My VOX sometimes gets shutdown automatically. It happens at least once in two days. And whenever it shutsdown, I can feel that the handset has become slightly hot. I need to remove the battery and put it back to turn on the phone again.
But one strange thing I noticed is that, if the bluetooth was on when the phone went down, I can see the bluelight blinking even when the phone seems to be shutdown.
Do you guys know what could be causing this?
My Radio Version is 4..13.41_02.88.90 and OS is 5.2.1236 (Build 17741.0.2.1)
Thanks pals!
Sounds like it's over-heating possibly? If the BT LED is blinking blue, then the device is still on, I think you have some software that is either causing it to run at full load or causing a soft reset.
hum, maybe this has something to do with the problem already reported in some posts of some VOX's
the screen goes black, but the phone remains on
normaly if you wait a couple of seconds, and try to mess with the phone again, it will be alright,
sometimes i even have to remove the battery
some say the problem could be overheating as u say, but until now, i havent found any solution for this, i also am facing the same problem
Same problem for me when turning on the Wifi, but the phone turns off completly and the battery showing empty after turning the phone on, I have to remove the battery each time!
But when it's connected, my phone runs perfectly.
Maybe I have to change my battery, no?
I don't think in my case the phone is on (except for BT light blinking). Otherwise it should be in a big hung state where it is not able to respond to keyboards, power key or any interface at all.
Next time I encounter this problem, I will try calling my own number to see whether the radio is on.
I have been using this vox since last 8 months, but in the last couple of months I have encountered quite a lot of problems like radio repeatedly getting turned off, first call after restart hanging (not consistent but happens most of the time I restart the phone and try to make calls with in the first 20 seconds after bootup) etc.
Do you think an upgrade 6.1 would do any good?
Thanks again!!
I was having that problem too. I tried upgrading to WM6.1 and upgrading the radio, nothing worked. I sent it in and they replaced the mainboard, but now it seems to be worse. I just got it back though, so I haven't called them about it yet. I'm just looking around to see if it could be a battery issue.
My phone restart issue was mainly a hardware or loose contact issue. Once the phone fell down and after that whenever there was a long press on 0, * or # keys, the phone would restart.
After two days my phone fell down once again from my hand and this issue got resolved forever. Lucky me!
My S710 HTC original, shut down every day at 00.16. In the past was at 02.46, and I discover it since during my trip in asia I found the phone off.
More over the alarm is not reliable and cannot be used for this reason.
The following application are installed:
- Customisation from HTC for my operator TIM
- microsoft Office mobile upt
- pmCleanSP
- spWZTools
- Skype
- Tom Tom
HTC service told me to flash it with Rom update.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
I have a 4155 that has developed the following problem: most of the times it doesn't turn on correctly. I press the power button, I see the backlight coming on but the screen stays grey (blank). Eventually I can get it back on, but only after performing a hard reset, then many, many soft resets (anywhere between 10 and 30). Then it works again for a little while, and the whole thing happens again.
The only way to avoid it is to have the screen stay on all the time, i.e. keep it plugged in and have it not turn off while on AC. If I allow the screen to turn off, chances are I'll have to do the whole reset procedure again, and it takes up to 30 minutes each time. It doesn't matter at all how well charged the battery is, and it even does it if I allow the screen to turn off while plugged in.
Of course in its present state it's just a little more than a paperwewight, not a PDA. I know that underneath it works correctly, just the display has this weird bug. I opened it up and poked inside, put it back together - no change. Does anyone have any idea? I'd really, really like to make this work again.
Thanks for any help!
(I should mention that I flashed the ROM once: I got it cheap off eBay because it was the French language version, and I flashed it with the English ROM. Worked like a charm for many months, then it developed the problem above. Don't think it's related to flashing, but thought I'd mention it anyway)
Bump. .
I had a weird instance happen on one of my pros a little bit ago. I hope I'll be able to explain this well enough for someone to recognize it (i'm pretty tired).
I was charging my pro... i disconnected it from the usb, then went to turn the display off via power button and my screen turned black. Not off, but black. Even in this black mode, you could see fuzzy lines so it was obviously acting strangely (picture an old tv on an input channel not being used. Youd be able to tell the tv was still on...). The phone still functioned, i just couldn't turn the display off at all no matter how many times i pressed power on/off (I'd only get the strange fuzzy black screen). A soft reset fixed this right away... I just think it's weird that it would still acknowledge my power button presses by turning to that black screen... why couldn't it just turn off if it was acknowledging what i wanted?
Has anybody ever had this happen on any of their phones, present or past? I'm thinking this is just an isolated incident, but i'd like to know how rare of an occurance it actually is...
i'd hate to think i'm the only one that this has happened to.
I've had this same problem -- and so is a coworker of mine who has the same phone... we're running Juggalo's 0.06B ROM.
Hi guys
I have this strange behavior going on in my Sentation.
Out of nowhere my phone started to have strange screen behavior... Didn't light up after pressing the power button (had to phone my self in order to get screen on).
The next thing was that suddenly the screen goes to maximum brightness or goes to minimum without any explanation (tried both auto brightness or manual).
After that I noticed that the screen went off when I was using it but when I pressed the left side of it it lighted up and off again... making me think of some kind of bad contact underneath. As I already had changed a broken touch screen for t3 times, and let the phone fall for several times I thought it had to do with some plug out of line...
I disassembled the phone completely and mounted up back again. The thing is that the phone started to freeze every 5 minutes (screen on but completely freezed. I have to pul out battery). Sometimes it freezes even in the recovery menu. I've tried several rom's with full wipe and not installing anything and its all the same.
Some times I still not that the screen goes off during the freeze but when I touch the left side it goes on again, but that doesn't change the freezed state even that I let down the phone for several minutes.
I disassemble the phone again, tried different back cover and different battery (one stock and other extra strength) I tried also all the suggestion related to the small pin in the back not connecting well with the back cover (adding an aluminium foil, pulling the pin out, etc..)
Nothing seams to resolve anything so I have clearly an hardware problem... but I don't know what to replace or where to look the damage!!!
Can anybody help me please?!
Update
I have an update on my problem:
I noticed that when I leave the phone on top of some kind of metal part and don't touch it it works all day without any problem but, as soon as I start to touch the phone, it freezes within minutes!
Could it be some kind of static electrical problem? How to resolve it?
I would apreciate any help
Thanks
Hello everybody,
recently my brother's Nexus S started having problems. The battery life was awful and 4 days ago the power button stopped working. We were out, so i disabled the lockscreen. That way pressing the volume button would turn the screen on. This "trick" worked quite fine until yesterday, when the phone shut off, I don't know why (maybe the battery went out?). I tried to turn it on again, but there was no sign of life whatsoever. Not even volumeup+power button produced any effect. I then read on this forum and it looked like the motherboard is gone. Thinking that the phone was gone, I searched a way to recover photos and text messages from the phone(always remember to set a periodic backup). After a couple hours of pointless research, I gave up and went to sleep. I turned off the lights and I saw a flash. It was the Nexus S. So I filmed it and uploaded to youtube. Here's the link: http: // youtu.be/oGSVjElAwq0 (remove spaces) You can see the screen blinking a couple times(around 0:07 and 0:27). Maybe the phone is not completely dead and there is a way to recover that files or even save the device. Unfortunately I'm not expert, so I don't know how to proceed. Any help is appreciated. A big thanks in advance.

Hi, please try to answer these questions. Might help solve your problem.
When you plug the phone in, do the capacitive buttons light up?
Does your phone get recognized on your PC when you plug it in via usb?
Are you 100% sure this is not just a battery issue?
Hi, thanks for your time
-No, the buttons do not light up.
-No, the phone does not get recognized by the computer(i tried Windows and Ubuntu)
-I can't exclude a battery problem, but ,even that, it should power up when connected, shouldn't it?
