htc touch-like media player skin, portrait & landscape

hi folks,
the htc audiomanager didnt work well for me, so i made a skin for the built-in media player based on the new htc touch dialer-pad.
Screens showing Portrait and Landscape Mode as well as Video Playback.

Nice skin About the progress bar i would make the triangle a little smaller and bring it down a touch excuse the pun. Try the triangle in grey or black as well - keep up the good work.

On second thought a blue rectangle - longitudinal would also be good to match the blue background. Also perhaps a faint grey groove would look better than the white line. These skins are not as easy as they look, done some myself in the past so i can appreciate it.

the slider is a lil uninspired - im thinking about different places to put or alternative appearance, and im thinking about how to keep him usable with fingertouch or not as ff and rw is also possible by d-pad
about the blue color... its given by design of htc touch, i also removed in that dialpad the gray effect on last-call screen to keep design clear

Try a basic landscape first - in my experience media player does not change skin automatically in landscape mode except the default skin. You have to goto landscape view first then change the skin. It will only work on auto if you overwrite default skin in \windows. Most skins i have seen do not include landscape view because of this. Prove me wrong if you can Just thought i might save you alot of work.

yes ive allready seen - had to search and apply skin in landscape mode again, after itl be changed automatically... well i was wondering how to write a skinfile wm will apply for both views by itself, good to know it wont work

Need help - Doesnt Show up in skins tab
Hi, Looks fabulous.I have an issue, I unzipped the contents and copies them to \Program Files\Windows Media Player, but when I go to settings and choose the skins tab, the skin is not showing up. I use WMP 10 on Jam/ Magician.
Can you please help.

which version did u try? are other skins displayed? what i did is exactly same like u (path) and it worked flawlessly.
maybe someone who is more experienced in this can help...

How do I get taskbar like yours (with vista style start menu button) and popping up menu??

The only problems after 1hr of use:
- java emulator is broken (buttons names, alerts) and opera mini doesnt work in full screen
- connection setup is broken but this is sth we use only once a hardreset so can live with it

- input in operamini is limited ?? thats why i posted 2 posts and everything has to be presses twice
- connection manager - any options to have a 6 butt black or any other than we have? - just dont like it.

No, the 6 button black version is made for the original dpi of the Vox, you have to rewrite the whole thing to make it work, but feel free to do so!

Java is fixed.
Connection Setup & Comm Manager.. I think they need to be re-written. But the other Dr. Gonzo Comm Manager is working fine. You can launch it from Home Screen as well from shortcut inside.

Hi
I dont understand which black bar you are talking at bottom? I dont see any.. I have adjusted the images..
When incoming call comes, the image is not displayed in center. Any idea how to fix this?

If you are talking abt black bar at top... that is fixed

I mean this black bar:
Mh there is no option in registry for centering call screens that I am aware of!

java issues solved by installing Cloudyfa_EsmertecJbed onto device memory! works perfect!

How do you guys like it?
I was having an issue where no matter what transparent clock I would use it would always have this ugly gray background (On the ATT Fuze). Well I fixed it and have not seen this method anywhere else yet.
1st download link for .NetCF v3.5 http://rapidshare.com/files/163581767/NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab
2st you need to download Diamond TF3D Config (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405749)
3nd download the original black TF3D theme. Link under the images. THIS HAS THE START MENU BACKGROUND COLOR FIX!!
4rd Use the Diamond TF3D Config to install the black theme and let the device restart.
5th Download the Manila Customizer (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=437420)
6th Go here and download all the TF3D stuff. Like new clocks and the slide bar ect ect. Go through all the posts and download them all like it did. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=444463)
7th Open up Manila Customizer and change your clock. Now you can have a transparent flipping clocks on the Fuze. And it gets rid of the ugly ATT tab.
8th Download this file to set your background on all the tabs ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2910876&postcount=10 ) Credit: mUn
9th For the black dialer you have to download the cab from this post. (Note: Landscape mode does not work yet but will be fixed soon. I goes back to the normal dialer in landscape.)

Tips:
I use the Glass clock but i have a white font and to get that i first load the crystal clock then the glass clock. if i just load glass clock first i get a black numbered clock. Credit : alom310

I can't take credit for the Black Theme. But you scroll all the way to the right select wallpapers. And pick a picture (Note: It only shows up on the home screen.)

GTO what is that picture or who is that picture in your example?

Thanks for your attachment, then. Frankly speaking, you save me a headache.
I found out a way to make the wallpaper show up on all pages. However, there is another issue; the slider button is off-center I've read somewhere about this issue while I was looking for a way to modify TF3D, but read a few hundreds papers kill me.
Do you have any ideal to fix that?

Hmm I could look into the offcenter slider. How did you get it to apply to all pages?

Has anyone fixed the "slowdown" lag with the black theme? I installed it, and it seemed to lag quite a bit.

Yeah when I 1st installed the Black theme it lagged alot but after changing the clock type and such it sped right back up so I dunno.

Here is the demon wallpaper. Putting it up because it was requested a few times. I added it to a zip so it wouldn't show up as a thumbnail because there is a nipple in it and didn't want anyone to get in trouble at work.

after changing my clock, it only displays 0:00 now. although if i flip it up to hide it, it does show the current time. and how do i restore everything back to as if i never installed manila, just in case i wanted to. ive tried uninstalling manila but it still doesnt work.
EDIT: nevermind i got everything back to normal, but im still wondering about the 0:00.

my clock is stuck at 0:00 too. is there a fix for this? I couldnt find one by searching the posts.

I found that installing the black theme then editing it got rid of the 0 on the clock. If I just edited the stock theme it would stay at 0.

is your start drop down menu all black? cause mine is and its kinda hard to read.

Mine is black aswell. I have seen a fixed theme but because I use the quck launch thing in TF3D I have not worried about it. If you find the theme and post it up I will edit the 1st post.

How to make the top and bottom all transparent?

Hi guys, I have tried the MAXTTM to make the top and bottom all transparent, but unsuccessful. I clicked the top curtain and bottom curtain all transparent but nothing changed. Can anyone tell me how to do it?

use hdwall to make a load of cab files, and use either the hdwall wallpaper selector which you can download from the hdwall thread, or just install which cab file you want when you want.!

Hi very nice tutorial
but I've followed it
and followed it while setting "skin task and bottom bar" in advanced config
It creates the myWallpaper.cab for all tabs (but the lock screen)
But the Task and bottom are still Black? (or very dark)
I even tried fumbling with the "opacity" slider
but no real luck (not clear how o interpret them)
At best I get a very dark task bar on the home page
Sometime the landscape is best othertimes its the lock page
(I use my unshrunk original for it)
The tutorial and help has been great here
but I do get to create the cab, its just the transparent taskbars
I guess advanced options that I'd really love to see some babysitting in

thats not a solution, that is a bad patch.
I want to change like other people the bars from one color to transparent, and dont have to lose my time with 2054 cabs for any wallpaper.

try this cab mate, its pretty easy to use. install the cab, run it, then go to WM6.5 menu at the bottom, choose the option "both" under component then choose "wallpaper" under change method option, then press convert. and your done. when changing your wallpaper again you have to re-do the whole process again though.

looks like the guy who tried this was trying to change the wrong thing. changing the top/bottom curtain isnt changing the taskbars. also he might not of downloaded the right cab version with the WM6.5 option on the bottom.

Worked fine but messed my lockscreen up, and it seems like maxttm dont work at all when you have Max manila installed (besides removing the taskbars)
After 14 days of searching and trying different caps i still cant remove the bottom curtain.

No you don't haver to redo it everytime you change. You just tick "use standard deployment" and then you can change your wallpaper like you do normally through the settings tab.
Luckily I don't use max manilla!

You need to have BG4all enabled. After that it should work, unless you have Max Manilla interfering.

NO ICONS ON TF3D (Recommended for blacks wallpaper!)

which components do you change with this cab exactly? just the slider thats completely hidden? looks nice!

nice work once again antonio... i am always impressed by what you manage to achieve.
couple of questions though:
1. even though you cant see the slider... does it still function?
2. are you able to still pull up quick links?

nice idea i may give it a go.
what would be cool is if you could turn it on ana off. maybe slide the slide bar down to vanish then up to re appear. its probabily not possible but would be good to have the option to make it clear and solid at a press of a button.

All you guys might have to do is either edit icons.mode9 manila file and set visible=false under the icons you don't want displayed (there are 3 references/icon - 1 big preview, 1 for off, and 1 for on). You need to just add the line visible=false under each qtc for _on and _off icons. You can do this easily with m9editor.
You could also do a dirtier way of just making the icons totally transparent. This could be easily accomplished by downloading a custom icon set for your manila version, creating a transparent png square the size of the icon, and using cfcgui to replace all of the small icons in the slider with the transparent png. The bigger icon is used for the preview on your screen.
I've attached a cab using the 'dirty' way of doing it. The slider has a line at the bottom as suggested by Prodildo. It should work with 2.5.1921, 2.5.1922, 2.5.2011 and maybe others (slider I took the files from was compatible with those). The only problem I noticed was the date is still displayed on the invisible calendar icon (the 1 in the screenshot). That can probably be fixed in a mode.9 file, but I am at work and do not have access to a manila file dump.
**edit - I added the fix for the date doesn't show now on the invisible icon (but does show on big icon while switching tabs)
