Hi All,
i looking for some utility to set profiles according to my location in GSM network.
Any idea?
I found some soft for Symbian, but i need something for WM6.
Thank for ideas.
BTW: Dr. Gonzo, stay with us!
Try CellProfileSwitcher
Hi,
I use this to do the same thing. Just remember to save the group of cells you create and the cells you learn before exiting the application.

HI There
(first XDA, with last upgrade from o2 site)
I am in UK, on O2 and have several pop3 accounts configured
I am wanting to keep GPRS connected whilst i check each account
but after checking one account it disconnects, and I have to redial as I move through each individual account
Where is the setting to Keep my XDA GPRS connected as I cycle through each pop3 account?.
Also anyone know of a better pop3 email software which handles better than the one it comes with?
Thanks
Re: How do I keep GPRS connected
Helou, in registry change or add the key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings]
"SuspendResume"="~GPRS!"

Georg,
How do you get into the registry to do this? Do you have to do a hard reset in conjunction with this?

No hard reset - only on/off radio
Georg,
This is un-chartered waters for me. I could easily wreck the ship.
I downloaded the file and unzipped it. Now what do I do?
If you feel that only someone with good technical ability should try this approach please tell me. Otherwise I could try the hard reset approach suggested by others in another thread. I understand that one, but this approach I do not. I'm an Engineer, but I fix buildings and structures not PPCs.
What I do like about your fix is that it sounds as if I will not have to reload all my applications after I complete the tasks, and this is attractive to me.
What do I do with your download? How do I set radio on/off? Could you provide me detailed instructions? Sorry if this is a bother, and if I'm being unreasonable just let me know.

Czech language.
Thanks - but what does this do?
HI There
Thanks for your reply/help!
But how does this "fix" work (ie, what will it do once I have installed it)
is it a design fault on the XDA the fact that GPRS won't disconnect?
Thanks

Is it quality setting, it is not error.
XDA1 always be GPRS up
XDA2 is only sometimes GPRS up (according to operator)
Here be more accurate setting.
( Englishment by the help of PC Translator )
More accurately setting succeed
When
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings] "SuspendResume"="~GPRS!"
Then
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Phone]
"Flags2"=dword:00000000 = no button disconect in buble con.
"Flags2"=dword:00000008 = button disconect on buble con.
"Flags2"=dword:00000010 = button disconect and time con. on buble conection (hex)
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\PhoneExtendFunction]
"NoGPRSAutoAttach"=dword:00000001 = search GPRS on con.
"NoGPRSAutoAttach"=dword:00000000 = search GPRS on radio on

Georg,
I have everything you list except my ExtROM is 1.60.06.
I know that Georg has a language barrier with these postings.
Is there any one else out there that can explain this fix to me in full English? I do not know what Georg's dowload is for or how to get into the radio to do what he is suggesting.

Hi, I'm a new user. I've searcehd on here fro entries on this but can't locate anyhting relevant. I was hoping that setting an appontment's status to "private" would let me distinguish between work-related things and family commitments. There's nothing in the wholly inadequate O2 manual so far as I can see. Can anyone enlighten me on the possibility of automatically hiding personal appointments?
Many thanks
Jim
Using the default appointment program provided by MS there is no way to filter them as you require...but you can categorise the appointments (and create new ones if the names do not suit you).
If you wish to have more advanced features, may I suggest something like Pocket Informant 2005 or PocketBreeze...these are more complex than the default MS ones so will take a bit more getting used to, but they do the trick.
Pocket Informant : Click Here
PocketBreeze: Click Here

Hi All!
I would like to ask some questions, about the Magicians (and other XDA devices) Phone section. Is there any program to make some phone profiles (like Nokia's silent, normal, car, meeting, street mode), any change it any time, like Nokia? I would love that program.
Another: Any program that supports reading the operators CB. Because my operator send Cell Boradcast to your phone, but I cannot read it on my Magician, but my friends Nokia supports it.
If anyone has some questions, programs, and ideas how to improve the phone section in our XDA device, please post it here, and share the experiences with us.
Cheers
Profile Manager
As far I know, there is the PocketZenPhone. A profile manager an more...
For me it's a little buggi, but lot of people is very happy with it so give it a try.

And what about Cell Broadcast?
Settings -> Phone -> More?
PocketZenPhone will do exactly what you describe:
www.pocketzenphone.net
Try PhoneAlarm Lite @ www.pocketmax.net

Hi guys, i'm in search of a program that recognize, store & interprets GSM Cell's ID.
I know that PhoneAlarm has this feature, however time ago, i've seen a program into an user signature, which does exclusively what i want... but i don't remember the name of the user/program.
Any suggest is accepted, naturally the app in subject must be enabled to perform an operation when i'm entering/leaving determined groups of GSM cells.
Thanx 4 your response... i know i'm not the one who wants to discover new apps
thankyou... Cell Profiler is what i'm in search of
CellProfileSwitcher is for smartphones but also supports some PPC's
There is also limited support for the following phone edition PocketPCs:
* HTC Wizard: T-Mobile MDA Vario, Qtek 9100
* HTC Prophet: Qtek S200, o2 XDA neo
For the PocketPC, not all actions are supported. Unsupported actions are greyed out. Als, the home screen plugin does not work.
cell profiler doesn't seem to work on wm5... so let us know if it does work on your device...
Personally I like cellprofileswitcher and wish the author would put more PPCPE support.
thnx 4 the reply
PhoneAlarm works great, but it's too invasive....
Do you know another software like this?? i Have an Hermes.... i hope cellprofileswitcher doesnt't work with it... and above all with WM6 !!!
Hello
i am a newbie to WM6 and i miss to see the last used application in foreground after i switched off the PDA (using Power Off / On button).
Is there a trick to set up this behaviour (like in WM2003) as a default?
It seems that a application (Navigon MN6) is also able to override the setting, if programmed.
A lot of thanks for a hint helping to fix that.
Remark: i think this behaviour is a "point of design" of WM6, but i did not find a forum for wm6 related topics, so i posted it here: ecxuse me for that.
