hi all,
quick little question for the wise wizards around here:
i'm using touchflo 2d on my kaiser, and i very often accidentally go into the date/alarm settings by tapping (with my finger mostly) the clock on the home tab of touchflo.
i know i know, why not just lock the keys, but sometimes i'm just carrying my phone from room to room and i don't want to turn the keylock on, or press the power button. i've taken a look around the registry, and while i see ways to customize other parts of touchflo, i can't find anyway to change that mapping. so my question is, is there anyway to change the mapping so that tapping the clock just does nothing as opposed to launching the date/alarm app?
thanks in advance to all,
shammyh
[to mods: sorry in advance if this is in the wrong forum, wasn't sure if it was rom development or software appropriate]
You should be sorry, because you don't read. Right at the top of this forum it says ***READ BEFORE POSTING***
Must have missed this one too...
"We are all here for the same reason, to squeeze every ounce of fun and power from our device. Be kind, and contribute."
Now I'm left feeling I've done something wrong, and rather than a helpful response, enlightening me on where i faltered so that i don't make the same mistake again, i'm left with a slightly combative and in no way helpful response.
As the mod responsible for the "READ ME" at the top of the forum. I want to say two things.
Be nice Everyone.
And to Shammy... You would be best served to get a great answer if instead of creating a new thread, you posted in the Manilla2D thread. Its where are the Manilla Brain Masters are.
Thanks Have a great day.
[Software would have been the appropriate forum]

To all the guru's here, how can I get a home icon on the top bar. This way I can tap on it and go to the today screen. I know about wisbar, but don't want to use it for personal reasons. I know I can create a shortcut for a key using quickmenu and a gester using wktask but I just want a simple home icon (like wisbar or WA) in the top bar. Anyone have any ideas please?
Well, i don't know about the home icon, but maybe you'll find vjTodayButton useful:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=243235&highlight=todaybutton
You map it to a hardware button. Now, when you press (and hold) this button, you see the Today screen. When you release it, you are returned to the app you were previously in - IMO much more useful than anything that takes you to the home screen aln leaves you there...
Not quite what I need. If the icon is in the today bar, then it is available in any program I run. This allows me to switch to the today screen with only on tap. When I am finished then I can click on the wktask name/icon header to get back to where I was. I know I'm being a little ridiculous with this, but for speed and ease, this is the best option for me.
I know someone has to have an idea. This forum is to large and great for only one person to try and help out.
Well, maybe try editing your first post and use a bit more descriptive topic subject.
Messages titled with some nondescriptive name like "Need some assistance...", "help needed", "can i do this?", etc... often get ignored... It's really hard to check every single such message to often find out that they concern something you have no idea about.
But something like "How to put a shortcut in the top menubar" might just catch the eye of someone who actually knows the answer...
Just as the point 2 of the rules says:

While you're at it, take your time to read trough them - they're not here because the admin was bored and decided to write something - their goal is to make forum browsing a bit easier - really.

I am using iLauncher from SBSH, this gives you what you want, at a price though.
First off I want to thank everyone here at XDA for all the hard work and effort you put into tweaking these great devices.
Now, on to my question, I've searched here and the diamond forum and I can't find any mention of a way to change the shortcut buttons on the landscape TF3D screen. I would really like to be able to customize that screen with shortcuts to applications I actually use. There must be a way to do this, has anyone got an idea?
First post , please go easy on my noobness.
Searchipoos......
Post #9 on first page, bottom ish of second page for a bit extra

Thanks Ouza but I saw that post and it's not what I'm looking for. This only deals with changing the two softkeys at the bottom of the landscape screen (which is nice in itself).
I'm wanting to change the 6 big shortcut ''buttons'' above that.
Basically I'd like to make the landscape screen the same idea as the programs tab in TF3D or something like it.
Any ideas... anyone??
I would seriously like to change the big shortcuts as well.I have a dock in my car using the video out. Video out forces Landscape mode. When I hop in my car, I dont want to take notes or check tasks, I want GPS, internet radio, Live Search...
I will dig deep into the registry and let you know what I find.
I want the same thing !!
Video out in the car, so I want to be able to start my Navigation from the landscape-menu.
Jochen
Change Landscape Menu
For the TV out menu that pops on screen after you plug in the video out cable, you can change the shortcuts in the registry.
HKLM\Software\HTC\TVOutPopUp\
There are four links in there, you can change them to any app installed on your phone. Only problem im having is changing the icons.
I have to bump this thread. There must be a customizer out there for the lanscape shortcuts! I just may go back to HTC Home if there is no way to put shortcuts in landscape!
I doubt this is exactly what you're looking for, but herg62123 is working on adding landscape tf3d to his project. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=447056
Not quite,
I have my TP docked in landscape in the car and I would like to open apps like NAV, or Picture Dial, or Kinoma Play in landscape.

I don't think there is going to be any easy way to customize those shortcuts. I'm pretty sure the landscape shortcuts are hard-coded in one of the binary manila files.
That sucks!
Well I guess HTC Home will do for now.
You could change the softkeys to point to two of the apps you want to run. Not the perfect solution but it's better than nothing...
I guess....
Maybe I can use 2nd today and set a button to it with AEbutton and have HTC HOME for landscape and TF3D for portrait.
Thoughts?

Sounds like a good solution. I haven't used either product but from what I've read on here that should work. good luck!
Glad to see this topic getting some attention finally
For anyone interested, try out this theme with a slimmed down version of tf3d in landscape. It may suit what you're wanting more.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=458036&highlight=landscape
Frankly, though, I didn't like it, and preferred to go back to my old theme. My main goal was having a landscape screen with a handful of a few apps I'm most likely to use, but in this theme you still have to scroll through your entire list of apps installed so, it really wasn't any kind of shortcut.
I'll keep sorting through all the manila files for a solution. Anyone with any reference docs or anything on creating themes or customizing tf3d would help as I've never dealt with it until now.

I've been searching around and noticed that indeed themes do change the "landschape shortcuts" but there doesn't seem to be a "general" program that's able to change them. I'm a little confused, because some reactions state it isn't possible to change these "shortcuts", saying they are hardcoded. Does this mean they're rooted so deep in the code that it's very hard to change them? Anyway I keep following this thread and hopefully some come up with a solution... Keep it up!
*Wish I could help*
Hey guys,
I was looking for a way to get click sounds when typing, because this really helps me typing on a virtual keyboard.
Going to sound and notifications, and turning on the click sound was nice but I want it only in the keyboard.
Then I found this: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=487677
I have been using it for a good 30 minutes and think it is pretty good. I have to get used to it, but it seems like I make very little mistakes. And if I make a mistake, it is because I really press the wrong letter.
There are a lot of options like the sound it makes, how hard it vibrates, different themes, etc etc.
Be sure to download version 2.1 (link at the top of that thread) and share your experience here! If you find any good settings to make it work even better on the HD2 please also share!
Kind Regards, Mark
(PS: I have not searched if there is a thread on this or not, but since this keyboard was made in April 2009,I asumed not many HD2 owners know about this. Also, maybe this could be a "post your keyboards" thread. Btw, I typed this from my HD2, with this new keyboard
or go to Manila settings tab, Local and text, Text Input and turn on typing sound
I apologize for my noobness, but I've browsed the forum with no answer nor cab, so I turn to you guys in hope of helping me out, I just want the thing gone, takes up to much room and I really don't need it...
Thanks
Search for "Cookiemonsters Home Tab". One of the benefits of this great mod is the function you are asking for: You can actually completely remove the clock from the home tab.
A simple solution would be to just swipe the clock away, this leaves just a basic digital clock.
Another solution is to install "antonio no clock".

The easiest way I know of to remove things from the homescreen is by Cookies Home Tabs and CHTEditor. If you use those, pressing Menu at the bottom and selecting Edit Home Layout will allow you to remove whatever you wish by simply a press & hold.
Hi community,
First of all, it's great to be on baord, and this seems an awesome community.
Now to my stupid question.....
I found this webpage whilst I was at work on Friday. Whilst browsing, I found a theme that I would like for my LEO, but I did not bookmark the page (stupid for an IT professional)
Anyway, I was hoping somebody might be able to help me; what I can say is that it was a "minimalist" theme, with very few buttons, a small on screen digital clock, and it had what I would refer to as an "electric blue" background....just blue, no images, actually the same shade of blue as my Honda
So, if anybody can point me in the right direction, I appreciate it. Once again, sorry for my stupidity.
I think this isn't it but it comes close... probably?
best regards,
Myrixamophit
Thanks, but that is not the one
Incredibly, it is even simpler than that! I cannot remember the name of the person that posted it, but I scrolling through the forum now, because I know that as soon as I see the name again, I will recognise it.
Thank you once again
lots of "lite" themes possible with CHT 2.0....
but have you tried looking in your browser's history? (you probably have...but thought i would ask!)
I have looked through my cache; but at work, system automatically clears it.
BUT, I remembered today, was a few pages forward from a "wooden theme" that a developer did by using a shelf from Ikea....lol.
Wonder if this will help?

?
i used it in my endkey program....maybe it will help....

Hi Kuan Teen,
I'm sure I saw what you're looking for but wasn't here in this forum. I saw it in the "post your today home screen" thread in the android themes forum, so try there and you will find it.
I hope you get it, good look my friend
Once again, thanks all
I've accepted the fact now that perhaps somebody has removed the theme that I wanted. Perhaps it was a photoshop job? I've read that people do that sometimes.
New problem now....lol
Last night, I installed a theme, and tried to install it on my device, but the device complained about lack of space (I have Duttys ROM installed). So, can I install on the memory card (16gb)?
Thanks guys.
err.. don't know for sure but Blue SK-i was the first theme that came into my mind when I read your description
