hi there im new to this Imate Jam modding thing, just a query, i have radio ver :1.13.00 and the standard 1.12.00 rom and 1.12.00 ext rom, firstly, wtf does the radio do? and what is the extended rom?? oh and why cant i send files via bluetooth? i tried "bchs_for_pocket_pc_ozone.armv4.cab" to update the Bluetooth, but just after finding the device it goes "connection failed" just before it sends the file!, this is annoying as i use bluetooth quite alot, oh and.. were would i find more "themes" as it were for the jam.. or does anyone recommend any mods?? oh and.. i "DO NOT LIKE Rom Wwe 2.03.tx" way too many steps to get it going properly and too many sorted directorys...

Hi guys.
I did it... i screwed up my QTek S100! I tried to upgrade it, maybe the wrong files, dunno... now it is *dead* ! I only get a dark screen with "SERIAL V1.00" or "USB V1.00" if docked (should be bootloader mode). Nothing else.
Would you please be so kind as to help me in recovering from the disaster ? I do not have any backup, nor ROMs. I own a 512 MMC.
I would need English Roms... pleeeese !!

Do you still have the files you used to upgrade? What's the name of the file?
Also, leave the info on your previous ROM.
I had the same problem with my Qtek S100 when upgrading it with the new firmware. The upgrade process stopped/crashed the first time leaving my unit in the same state you're describing. But, what I did was simply to run the upgrade utility again and then it worked fine the second time.
I don't know where you're from but if you have a swedish unit like me you can get the latest upgrade utlity from this adress:

Looks like the same happened to me. Try to open battery cover (or remove battery for several second. Then put everything back and push Power button. Does it turns on (with hard reset)?
Nope buddy! The OS is gone! Whatever I try to do, it always starts in Bootloader mode (Serial V1.00/USB V1.00).
Try removing the battery for 30 minutes (or whatever time it takes for the backup battery to discharge). That should recover your previous configuration although I haven't tested it.

I would like to try upgrading my JAM...but now I`m affraid a little bit... :roll: Have U tried to update with the latest S100 ROM...the swedish one?...or the I-mate JAM WWE ROM...?

Is there a way to make a backup of my rom?
I have the qtek s100 with english rom.
Purchased seperate.
rom 1.03.00 WWE
radio 1.05.00 (upgraded)
extrom 1.03.100 WWE
Had the same issue with my radio version upgrade.
Scared the hell out of me ...
Backlight did not lit up ...
And an error apeared on my pc ...
But I was able to upload it when I tried again and the sync program of ms was killed.
If anyone knows how to make a working back-up ...

When you do a hard reset, you do exactly the same.
So I think it's all gone.
why not dump the os to sd card, ntrw to pc and then put the nb1 fille in the ftp........

When i run the upgrade utility program either for wm2005 or the upgrade off o2 website im getting an "error 100 :model id error" i have noticed that once my device goes into usb mode the activesync disconnects, i have checked all settings in activesync and they seem ok, i have no problems with sending and recieving information other than when i run the upgrade utility program.
The instructions that came with helmis rom upgrade say to put the file extrom on mem card, but the instructions in wiki dont mention this which leaves me totaly confused on the matter,
I have been reading wiki for a solid week now so have done plenty of research.
Any help appreciated guys.

model id error sounds like a rom for a different device (?)
active sync will disconnect, ruu has to be able to work without it, for example from bootloader screen.
however that's all I know, you don't give any details for a more experienced person to help, what's a helmis? blue angel? try posting in the blue angel upgrade forum, where did you get the rom from etc

Hi guys! Im from Norway, im therefore having the Europe version of the TP.
My ROM version is: 1.90.409.6 NOR
My Radio version is: 1.02.25.19
My problem is that the phone is rather slow and unstable.. Since i got it 2 months ago i had to factory reset it four times! And therefore having to install all my apps and stuff over and over again. Starting to get a little frustrating The last fault i got on the device was that it wouldn recieve sms. I had to turn off the phone, and then back on to get them. And had to do so every ten minutes to be sure that i got the messenges i was suppose to.. Kind of boring. So! Im wondering. What would you guys suggest? Would a radio update change the speed of my device?
Sorry if i double posted. I couldt find any posts with norwegian people woundering about the same

I doubt, that a different radio will improve you situation but you can easily try it without any risk. Flashing a different radio does not hard reset your device. So you can try it and go back if it doesn't show any effect.
I would suggest you to have a look at ROMeOS v1.40. That ROM is extremely fast (compared to stock ROM at least) and perfectly stable.

I found the radio flash guide. But when i tried to install HardSPL it halted saying that my TP wasnt connected to my PC. Wich it was.. So thats kinda weird.
But lets say i want to try a new ROM. My TP is set up with Norwegian keys. And the software keys on my TP also have the norwegian letters if i use the fn key. Will this dissapear? Ive never done this before. Sorry if my questions are strange =)

When I just got my phone, it was in Italian, and thanks to your very well written guides and threads, I managed to flash it to English. I used this file for the flashing:

Thank goodness, it worked beautifully. I have now a wonderful English WM6 operating system, on my HTC Touch Cruise.
However, whatever I try, I can not get the GSM to work. As in, it won't connect to the phone networks we have in this country of Albania (AMC, Vodafone, Eagle Mobile). I'm not sure why, but I'm afraid it has to do with the flashing. I dont' know if it worked before then, because I didnt' know italian enough to test anything.
Is there something else going on here? Or maybe the flash destroyed my ability to come to the phone? Do I need to do a newer flash?
If you guys can help me out, I'd really appreciate it.

sounds to me if the radio u flashed with your rom is not good in ur location or ur flash was not as succesful as u thought?
Do u know what radio was on the fone before? I looked up ur radio version, its same as for kasier 6.1 roms, but u say u have 6.0?
I couldnt find the rom u flashed, u sure it was from the polaris section and have u tried flashing another rom?

2.radio version is like the part of the phone that has to manage the "communicating part" of the phone....like making calls, receiving the signal, calls quality.wi-fi, bluetooth...etc..Different radio versions do different performances of the phone...and some seems to improve battery life.
3. Classic is for Pda (touchscreen) without "Phone capability", Professional "is for PDA(touchscreen)-Phones", Standard is for smartphone (non touchscreen)
4. ROM is the "mass-memory" part of the phone...where you store the Operating System and programs..if you have enough space ( think of it like the Hard disc of the OS for a pc). WWE means standard english version.
5. Read the wiki....basically. Backup of your data (contacts, sms etc..)>backup of the rom (optional)> Unlock> Flash SPL> Flash rom. Easier and quicker than it seems.
6. NO soft reset is a normal reset of the phone.Like you do when you shut it off, and then you power it on. Data is still there. HARD RESET...Deletes all your data...it's like having a phone just flashed with a ROM...(or in a PC when you have just formatted your hard drive and then reinstalled your Operating System)

Where will i get latest official rom for my vox, i m not able to download it frm htc site. It says that the update is not for my device S/N.... Plz help, can any one give me a direct download link frm any other site like media fire, rapidshare etc..
look in the xda-wiki...also in the vOx page...there are a lot of roms, but i'm not sure You'll find the latest...(1.34) maybe.

With official roms you don't have to do the whole USPL thing...just plug it ot your USB cable (check that ActiveSync is connected) and start flashing.
BTW if you flash cooked roms...you have to do USPL,
Normally if you flash USPL than you can flash every cooked rom without worries, and without do the USPL thing every time...just the first
BTW if you flash a OFFICIAL rom after a cooked rom you restore again USPL.
So the next time you have tu USPL again.

If you execute the exe file, it will give you the ROM image file, a nbh file. That IS the ROM file actually, others are just tools to write that nbh to your device thru activesync.

Thanks to all u guys, who suffered me. Sorry for the trouble tht i gave u. Finally i flashed my vox with fhm's win6.5 rom. Till now its working fine except wht i noticed is tht the bluetooth is not working properly, if any of u guys who is not fedup of me can help me out.... I dont knw abt wifi as i did'nt checked it yet. And accu weather is also not working..... Help needed......
