Dial-Up Over cellular included in ROM - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

Hi All,
I have a need to use my Kaiser as a modem for dial-up over the cellular line (not HSDPA but old style analogue connection). According to the person I spoke to as HTC this has been disabled, as the drivers don't support it, however I have found in some posts here that an older radio 1.27.12.32 people were able to use this feature.
The question I have is does any of the home brew ROMS/Radio's support this feature?
I am currently running HTC original ROM 6.1 and radio 1.65.16.25
I'm new here and would appreciate any help.
Thanks
Anthony

Greetings Ben...
So if this information is correct we need a VPA Compact rom. Anyone?
Ok, well if that .pdf file is correct, harrah! However, Expansys have listed the VPA Compact as a discontinued item. I can't find a single store that sells it, so maybe it's over before it began!!
After a quick search there is no ROM is availabe over the internet. The hope is the dumping. But my knowledge is this phone is sold only in Germany. Not sure!!!!

Thanx to Google:
http://download.vodafone.de/spopup16.html
It is a German ROM 1.12, coming from Vodadafone.
Greetings Ben...
OK, well does anyone have the ability to extract the stack and find out whether it's widcomm or MS? I certainly don't!
I've done a google translate of this page and it doesn't mention anywhere about which phone it's for. I'm guessing you selected this on the previous page?
And what's with the constant reference to blackberry? Has vodafone acquired blackberry software now?
Makes me want to just install the rom and find out, but I can't read much german!

You're better off posting that one in the bluesoile thread, dude. You'll get more help there.
Berkens.. Ok cool, so it is the rom.. (just worked out you need to click on the link that says "heir" to see the ROM), but how do we find out which bits we need? Can Buzz or anyone with ROM experience tell me whether there's any substance to this?
Hi,
I updated my T-Mobile MDAc with this and it's similar to the T-Mobile update, no new BT-Stack, just Vodafone branding
Bugger! Oh well, got our hopes up for a bit!

How would one be able to tell if it is the MS stack or Widcomm one?
I've not seen the Widcomm stack running on a PPC yet- so wouldn't know.
I'm sure like most here, the interest is whether you can get the A2DP profile setup on the MDAc.
I'm sure this is 'easily' possible- just need some with the know how i guess...
EDIT: Just noticed the BT Stack for the VPAc is exactly the same as for MDAIII- so is this a mistake regarding the VPAc stack running Widcomm. Or is the difficulty in uninstalling the MS BT?

Is the sip client fully implemented in an of the shelf WM6 device?

Does anyone have one? Is there a original MS rom that supports Internet calling for download. I switched to WM6 just for this reason, but i haven't got any rom to work with this functionality.
I'm using a I-Mate K-Jam, and have tried several different rom's.

The client is there but it isn't provisioned for use. The way I understand it is your Network Provider should provide the customisation to the phone for their SIP service. There is a fair bit on M$'s website about phone provisioning and registry settings for the IP Phone but I don't know anyone who has had any success so far. I think we need to wait until a real WM6 device appears that is already provisioned and then strip it.
There is already a thread on this on the forum:

Best OS for streaming radio

I use my Wizard primarily for an organizer/streaming radio/mp3 player. I am running Crossbow Reloaded 1.7. Recently, I've noticed that it bogs down and it doesn't seem to like to always connect to a tower or to my wireless LAN or if it does it drops the signal.
Any suggestions to a better OS (maybe more stripped down) to would be better in my scenario?
Any suggestions for better programs (Window media player sucks) or a better OS would be appreciated
Look for a "clean" or "lite" rom. You might try XM6r3 Lite. Its a branch off of my old Crossbow Reloaded series and is the "lite" version of the full blown rom.]
But if your problem is with signal, that would be your Radio rom more than the rom itself (I would guess). Could be your provider has moved towers recently (or they have a tower near you going out, or its been changed in some way).
Try a newer radio (like 2.69) but if you are on Cingular (or even on T-Mobile if its using the 850Mhz signal apparently from what I've heard) you'll need to use my WM6 Radio fix cab (you can find it in the 2nd post of the XM6r3 thread in my sig). SO that might fix you so you don't have to switch roms if you like CBR 1.7.
XM6r3 has HTC Audio Manager in it. XM6r4 (not released yet) will have MortPlayer in it.
Worked like a charm my friend. I'll have to keep my eyes open for XM6r4
Thanks for the help

Best radio for bluetooth

With all the radio choices, I don't know which is the best one for bluetooth.
I use a wireless bluetooth stereo headset a lot so want a radio with best bluetooth stack so I can minimise/stop crackling.
I have searched through the forums but cannot find a clear answer.
In terms of Rom I'm using, I currently am using a 6.1 WWE rom but was thinking about changing to a PDA one(either 6.1 or 6.5).
Would choice of custom rom affect radio a lot?
Where are you located and what network are you on.it would help a lot.
For even better answers. Check the radio section that is pinned at the top of the forum
Sorry, I'm in the UK on T-Mobile.
the bluetooth stack in the rom itself has more to do with it than the radio does...pda roms are usually on point as far as BT goes, i would start with v7, also make sure that you have either SPL 3.29 or 3.34, and then one of the recommended radios for that rom series. check for posts in the pda thread from other guys in the uk as far as what might be the best radio and go from there.
Please use the existing radio thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=393182

[Q] Stock, umodified WM 6.5 ROM Kaiser - where to look?

Hi!
I'm looking for umodified ROM of WinMo 6.5, preferably in Polish. Where can I find it? Alternatively, can someone point me to the least modified distribution available?
Hi
There is modified, but good rom from WJTK (it is somewhere on ths forum). It is stable and fast. It has one grat function already included - it can automaticly turn in modem when connected to pc (i`m using orange free and it works great when i need internet in the field).
If u looking for stock rom, then i think it was stock from operator (like orange). I never found any updates of rom on official orange, era, plus or play website. Stock roms was 6.1 (3-4 yaear old). If you look for something fresh and polish, then only modded roms you have. I reccomand WJTK, because it is fast and polish, already have all i need (divix playback, wheader widget, soft to block gsm internet when i don`t need it, and when i need: full 7,2Mbit HSDPA modem).
My current rom is wjtk.21851 PLK, radio 1.65.17.56, protocol 25.85.40.02H.
It can be found od pdaclub.pl, i`m not allowed to paste direct lin k so you have to search yourself.
