Hi All,
Firstly, I love this site have gotten alot of great upgrades from all of you so thank you. Now to the question, I have the HTC Touch Cruise and have been temporarily kicked off the cell network for reasons of a large phone bill. However, trying to turn on my phone has become a massive hassle now. I have two options of turning on my phone now that I have been suspended pending payment:
#1 - I can turn on my phone and enter in my sim card password:
In which case I will constalty get a warning that creates a window each time that says
"WARNING - There is a problem connecting the GPRS service in your registerd home network."
I can not stop this warning it seems, i can click the x but another window with the same warning will open because my sim car is still trying to connect to the network. I will also get a remnet.exe warning as well, but becuase of the previous warning box, (that will not go away no matter how many times you close it) i can not read what the remnet.exe warning says.
It is most importantly to point out, that this constant error, and constantly trying to connect to the network does not allow me to press anything else, it is as if these errors override everything, it is so bad that I can not even turn my phone off, as the error message will pop up in front of the power off option menu.
#2 - or I can turn on my phone and bypass the sim card option.
In this case I also get a frustrating warning that will not disappear, in this case though the warning comes from the top bar on the main screen, and it goes like this:
"CANNOT CONNECT - Dialed - The answering modem has disconnected. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap settings."
This warning, just as in option 1, seems to override all other options i have in the phone. I cannot even get to the comm manager to at least put it in flight mode, which essentially turns off all connections. However when bypassing my sim car, the phone still tries to connect to the cell network.
--
So these are my two options that I know of. Unfortunately in both options its a losing battle. I was hoping to hear if anyone knows or have experienced this problem and has found a work around to disable these warnings and error messages, so that when you know you dont have the network you can still play with your phone, even use the tom tom gps which does not use the cell network. This I also can not do because of these warnings that pops up.
I would give you more details of the phone, but I cant access it so I am not for sure which specific one is. I have only modified htc today screen, so its still main OS is windows mobile 6 and the last that I had checked windows could not find any updates.

I have been receiving an error code 129 on my Touch Pro 2 (Sprint) for sometime now. I finally brought it into Sprint and they WIPED my phone and said it was a software issue. 3 days later the same error message. I brought it back to Sprint and they gave me a brand new TP2. 4 days later I am still receiving the same error message (on my new phone). I brought it back to Sprint today and low and behold they WIPED my phone again, this time they did not put anything back on it, no contacts, no nothing. When I asked them what was wrong this time they said and I quote "DO NOT SINK IT WITH YOUR PC", HUH seriously, I have a WM phone and a Windows PC and I can't sink my phone. They recommended to put everything back on manually and see if the error happens again.
I am going CRAZY. Anyone ever see this before? Its NOT a text message I am receiving, its an actual ERROR, it appears on the top tool bar as and "!" sigh, when I click on it is says Error 129. When I get the error I can not make calls, send text or get on the Net. I have to reboot my phone to use it. Then when I reboot I have noticed my family gets repeated text messages. And once I get the error it comes back constantly.
Any help would be appreciated. THANK YOU!!

If you're experiencing the 129 data connection error, try calling advanced tech support and have them rebuild/refresh your network settings and see if it fixes you. I'm baffled as to the why part.
In any case, I found a listing of all the Sprint error codes and what really catches my eye is the fact it says this:
Error Codes - RFC 2002 (129) 129 Administratively Prohibited Mobile should display "Unknown error. Sign in failed. Please try again. If the problem persists, turn your phone off then turn it on again."
Maybe wherever you were with your phone Sprint wasn't letting you use the net at that time.
I also found the following info you may want to try:
Go to www.sprint.com and log in to your account.
Under My Sprint, click on the Settings and Password link.
Under Account Admin Tools, click "wireless web access."
Make sure your phone number IS NOT CHECKED on this page. If it is by chance, your data has been "shut off."
You may want to check it, save it, and then uncheck it. It could cause something to "refresh."
Also, check Settings -> Connections Tab -> connections -> under Sprint click on "Manage existing connections" and make sure your "sprint #777" is there.
If not, settings are as follows:
Name of Connection : Sprint
Model : Cellular LIne
Number to be dialed #777
Username/Password/Domain are blank
Advanced - Use server-assigned IP address is checked (on both tabs)
Use Slip is UNCHECKED
Use Software compression is CHECKED
Use IP Header compress is CHECKED
You need to soft reset after adding.
Other things to try:
Also make sure your data connection is "on" in the comm manager. I know that is a duh, but who knows.
Start > Settings > System Tab > Update Profile
Phone Dialer > Menu > Options > Services tab > Internet > Get Settings
If you're feeling ambitious with that one, you could then initiate custom NAI entry to device (client-initiated IOTA) by taping start.
That's about as much as I could turn up. I hope something works for you.
Guys I am really struggling with this phone. I have wasted 2 entire workdays now trying to get it how I like it. Yesterday I rooted with motofail2go and ran into an issue with usb only recognizing as charge only. Turns out I had to enable debug mode, turn off the phone, turn it back on, and then disable debug mode. Fixed the problem at 130 PM today.
At 145 PM today after doing this fix and running an ap called reverse tether my mobile data has disabled itself and I cannot get it to turn back on. Wifi is fine. Like I said I ran into some problems with debug mode switching settings around even when outside of debug mode and I cant for the life of me figure out how to reset my data connection.
Key fact: Even though the phone shows no data, when it boots up gmail always pops up with hundreds of new messages that I havent had the time to check nor did I choose to open the gmail ap. Its like gmail can still access the internet but it is disabled for me or any other function. For all I know it could simply be chached messages showing up automatically without checking for or recieving new messages.
I have done a soft reset and cycled airplane mode a few times. I have cycled thru the available network options and still nothing.
I am really having a hard time enjoying this phone as much as I would like to becaue of these weird issues. This is my first Motorola and I must say I am not impressed. And then it is sad coming to the XDA photon Q forum and there is no organization, no stickys, no useful threads hilighted, its like no one even cares about this phone. I have no clue what I am even doing when rooting, unlocking, bla bla whatever but at least the other forums are well organized and thoughtfully moderated. I dont even t think the mods here have the Photon...
Rant off... TIA
I seemed to have all kinds of random issues and problems when I first got this phone rooting and applying the first few mods, but...knock on wood they all worked themselves out and it's been solid.
A few weeks ago during that time I too experienced the loss of data issue. I was on wifi all day while at work tweaking & playing with the phone, then when I left work,...bam,..no wifi. Reboot, nothing. Airplane on/off, nothing. Tried updating the PRL, weird thing is I could watch it turn the 3G on to "phone home" to Sprint, then it would say the PRL was current and the data would be back off. WTF? Haha..
Surprisingly, what ended up working for me was the SprintZone app.
I opened the Sprint Zone app.
Scoll to the bottom and in the lower right there's a "Help" tile.
Scroll to the bottom of that next page and at the very bottom it says Update Profile.
After hitting that, I had my data back and haven't had the problem since that one time.
I wanted, so badly, for this to fix the issue. I just knew it would... but it didnt. I updated my PRL and Profile by wifi along with the Sprint Zone update you mentioned but still nothing, only wifi.
Can Sprint do any sort of reset?
Is there any way that Moto or Sprint have an auto off switch installed in the phone or the programming that is triggered by something like tethering without a tethering plan? Or rooting without using the Moto unlock key via motofail2go?
On a more general note can someone please tell me how to transfer files from my internal storage to the SD card? My internal memory is literally all used up by 2 games and my usual apps... i keep getting the low volume space warning popping up. Pretty ridiculous for a brand new top shelf phone.
I don't think it will make a difference, but make sure you are NOT on wifi when you try the SprintZone update.
I wasn't connected to wifi when it worked for me. Probably separate causes behind our similar issue, so what worked for me may not for you, but worth a shot.
I found out what it is:
Why did my mobile internet stop after using this app?
It has been reported very rarely that mobile internet stops working after using the app. This is due to the Appear as 3G feature.
If the 3G option is causing you problems, you can turn it off in the settings menu.
If this rare problem happens, to restore your device's internet, go to Mobile Network settings > Acess Point Names (APN) and choose Reset To Default from menu, or manually add your carriers APN.

Can anyone tell me how to reset my APN on the photon Q?
To transfer files from your internal sd card to the external sd card you can use a file manager like Astro or es file manager. I use es file manager personally, it has all the features of root explorer in a free app with easy to use interface. The internal storage is marked as the /sdcard directory and the external sd card is marked as /mnt/external1
In es file manager just enable the root options in settings and navigate up one level from the /sdcard directory to find the /mnt directory.
The built in file manager will do it too, but the options are limited and interface is clumsy.

So I purchased a Boost Mobile Moto G 1st Generation device today and want to use it as a spare wifi android device at home only.
The model I have is the XT1031 Boost Mobile CDMA. I went through a whole bunch of threads here and got my device updated to Stock 4.4.4 Kitkat [Falcon], bootloader unlocked, rooted with Super User, and the latest TWRP [the one for XT1032 worked perfectly fine!) I also found the very long paragraph bootloader unlocked nag screen on startup logo removal zip and that was sweet! Thanks to everyone here (so many of you from all of these topics and work beyond imaginable!) I also went ahead and installed Xposed Framework, Gravitybox, F-Droid + AdAway... will need to fiddle around with XPrivacy a bit more or come back to a really old LBE Master Privacy Guard project that seems to be translated now and working for a lot of devices. Now just waiting for the stable Lollipop image to come out and enjoy the next generation of our OS!
So with that all said (loving the device), on each boot right before "Starting Services", the Activation Screen comes up. It starts to first check for Profile, PRL Updates but fails and gives the error : Airplane Mode.
Anyone know a workaround to get that Activation screen disabled from appearing again (if you're not ever planning to use voice/data but only wifi)? I thought after I put the device on Wifi-Airplane Mode, it would go away, but it always comes up. My only workaround (which really isn't a workaround ) on each time I power back up/reboot the Moto G, that it comes up with that message, I just click "Next" and it will go to the Android Home screen just fine. and connect straight to my wifi network while already in airplane mode and work fine like that .
Anyways, it's a very minor thing, but maybe you all could direct me to a link or reply on what to check out if that's something easy to modify? Please let me know if you need any other information from my device or setup thus far to help you with my question!
edit: Hmm, now the activation notice doesn't appear on reboot but a notification at the top (white triangle) with SIM Card Error comes up. The device will hang with starting services in the center. If I press the power button once and press it again, I can swipe away the notification of the SIM Card Error and it will go to Home and everything works. If I click on the Sim Card Error, it gives me a message saying to either power off or continue, stating the device cannot work without a SIM Card.... (this is all while in WiFi-Airplane Mode). I thought it was an error or issue of Xposed/Gravity Box but uninstalling/reinstalling those didn't make a difference and the SIM Card Error still shows up on reboot. Strange thing, I thought the XT1031 Boost CDMA doesn't have a SIM Card Slot. Anyways, if I disable wifi and disable airplane mode and reboot, the original activation screen comes up again... and I can skip it and then go back to Wifi-Airplane mode... Okay, hopefully that gives some insight and maybe someone will know what I am talking about!
I had a small hardware shop unlock a Rogers Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-930W8) and many things have straight-up stopped working. Keyboard, back and recent apps vibration feedback is always weaker than usual. I have already factory reset this phone 5 times out of frustration now, and have tried to also back up a phone from Smart Switch, but all Smart Switch is giving me is a "Failed to connect to device, the connection to this device has timed out." Another difference from before and after is Knox giving me a Security notice, details are "Unauthorized actions have been detected." When I tap the notification, it brings me to the Device security part of Settings, and says that there is a Threat found and I have to restart the phone to undo any unauthorized changes, upon restarting the same error appears in the notification pane everytime I try this process. I have also noticed unexplained slowdowns while launching apps and hitting back and the phone actually doing something. Yet another thing I have noticed is that the phone does not seem to remember any WiFi connections that I connect to and takes excessively long to turn on WiFi and excessively long to connect to any WiFi connection. Another different thing that happens is whenever I reboot the phone, a process called "LoggingService" always crashes. There are still several issues I have noticed, and it's only been 3 hours since unlocking the phone. The device is not rooted.
My dad has been unable to unlock his S7, despite trying to do so directly with Rogers. Did you unlock the phone yourself? Were you able to figure out what went wrong after the unlocking?
Hello!
I got a Lumia 1020 from Amazon because I was feeling nostalgic and wanted to try it. Unfortunately the WiFi and Bluetooth do not seem to work. Already during the initial setup of the phone when it wants you to connect to a network it just shows the drop down menu with when you want to turn it back on. After the setup process is done and I go into settings to try and turn on the WiFi toggle, it just immediately says 'Can't do this right now'. Likewise, the Bluetooth toggle is just completely greyed out.
I tried soft resets, hard resets, reset by WDRT and reset by flashing an original FFU via WPInternals, but no joy. Any other suggestions before I contact the seller and tell him he sold me crap and see if I can get my money back? It's fine to use it as a camera only, but no wifi or internet whatsoever to update some apps, including Lumia Camera is a bit silly.
