So my HTC Wizard is getting a little old. And it's poor old CPU isn't standing up to Windows Mobile 6 ROM's very well. And it doesn't support anyhting past EDGE. And I'm thinking it's time for an upgrade. And my sweet BT SouthWing headset sucks on my HTC as soon as I do more than one thing. At the same time, my camera is busted. My girlfriend has a 6 megapixel camera we use for anything important, but I want a decent camera that's always on me.
I think I see a chance to combine some electronics. I'm looking for a beasty WM 6 based PDA. The current PDA I'm most interested in is the HTC Advantage X7510.
http://www.htc.com/www/product.aspx?id=474
GSM w / solid band support
3.1 MP camera w / flash
BT 2.0
624 Mhz CPU AND ATI gfx chip (<3 cell phone emulators)
16 gig internal flash for my tunes
detachable keyboard
FULL QWERTY KEYBOARD = WIN
Surprisingly sexy for a powerful PDA with a keyboard
This looks like the best one I've found overall. I've heard that HTC has been pretty lousy on implementing the ATI GFX chips, but as far as I can tell that's only on the TyTn II's. It's a little more than I want to spend on a phone, but if it gets the camera in there too then it's sold.
I'm pretty much sold on this guy, only holdup is the cost. I really haven't seen anything that can compete with it, although I found a lot of new companies today poking about. Anybody know of any brands I should look at, or have anything negative to say about this guy?

well if you really want the x7510 then you should buy an x7500 and put ap4 on there. than its like having the best of both worlds plus you get all the buttons that you dont get with the 7510
7510 is a good choice only if you intend to use it notebook style. If you use it tablet style, then 7500 or 7501 are better. 7510 does not have the a few of the hardware buttons that the older models have, and this is extremely limiting for table style users. Many users find it more convenient, more portable, and easier when using it table style.
BTW, 7500 and 7501 are lighter and cheaper too. The only drawback is the microdrive instead of SSD, but not a serious drawback. Capacity itself is not an issue for most of us, I believe. I only use about 1 GB out of the 8GB with all my programs installed there. All my large consuming files are on microSDHC, which can be swapped in and out at will so there is no practical limit on the effective capacity. Microdrive is a lot faster than microSDHC, although it consumes more power.
The answer is also in the new product cathegories from HTC marketing department ( www.htc.com ) :
They have :
TOUCH phones (From TOUCH to DIAMOND)
PDA phones (From P3300 to TyTN II)
Smartphones (From S310 to S730)
Mobile Computers (Advantage>Shift)
The strategy seems clear: WHAT DO YOU ARE LOOKING FOR ? :
Trendy and WOW effect PDA PHONE? (Play device with phone?) TOUCH product Line
A Powerfull Companion in your PHONE? (Biz device with phone?) PDA Phones Product Line
Lightweight but powerfull PHONE? (Phone for yor Digital Lifestyle?) Smartphones product line
Mobile computing (Mobile PC always on with SOME phone capabilities?) Mobile Computers product line
I agree with you we would like to have them ALL in a single device but....
I have PDA, SMartphone and Mobile computer, and I fully agree with this scenario. A clear idea (or a good help) and you will be really happy of the chosen device. Chose the wrong category for your purpose and you will sell it in few weeks (losing money )
HTC is out from a dark age now, time to buy stock quotes IMHO!
I'd go for an X7500 unless you can get a 7510 susidised. I use about 6Gb of my Microdrive and about 3Gb on my card but you can always expand with bigger cards.
Good luck!

Interesting comments, really appreciate the feedback. So, a few things.
1. I haven't really found a good comparison or general video yet of any of the advantage models. I'll keep the keyboard difference in mind. As for the keyboard usage, how is it for texting? I've been pretty happy with the keyboard on my Wizard, but I'm open to something new. I just refuse to go back to not having a QWERTY keyboard. I'd buy the Diamond, but HTC doesn't get how awesome QWERTY texting is appearantly.
2. Looking at the Advantage, I don't see any buttons on it that would be especially good for gaming, especially anything like the pad on a Wizard / TyTn II. Am I missing something, or can I expect to have my PocketNesterness hampered by an Advantage?
3. Thanks for the info on the 7500/1 vs 7510. Looking at the specs page, I noticed the 7500 lists two cameras while the 7501 only has one. Is this the case? I'd just be giving up the VGA camera for voice calls, which I've never used anyways, but I guess it could be nice if I get to an area with better than EDGE service. Also, is the X7510's camera much / any better?
4. I've done a good bit of flashing / light bit of cooking with my Wizard. About how much harder is an advantage to reflash?
5. 8 gigs would be a considerable upgrade for me, I've been getting by on a 4 gig MiniSD that my Wizard only picks up about 3.7 gig of. Assuming I used a gig internally for pics, GPS, etc, I'd still have twice the capacity on HD alone vs my card.
Glad to get some input, got ignored at HowardForums.
Hmm... actually, saw some better pics of the Advantage. There is clearly no "D-Pad" like the PDA-style phones get. LAME.
Back to the drawing board. Kaiser's in the lead, AT&T owes me a discount phone since I bought my own hardware to the table. Too bad it doesn't have a flash.

We play soccer here, 2-1 is the score, and the winners are ...HERMES-KAISER!
1) ATHENA's kb haven't any backlight, hard to use without a stable surface. Big screen means BIG on screen Kb too, but for texting ATHENA Kb isn't really good in standing situation, in the car, on the bus.... WORST comparing it with the HERMES or KAISER
2) Many games aren't usable in a VGA device. I don't know about emulators but less buttons mean less control! WORST comparing it with the HERMES or KAISER
3) Yes, it is. No, don't.
4) Just the same complexity and risks as Kaiser or Hermes
5) Yes, but are built IN. I prefer to have DATA on SD, to manage with the PC utilities, to share data with friends... but, yes BETTER than HERMES or KAISER
HOFO?
Believe me: for a "texter" and "gamer" ATHENA is a nightmare!
Yeah, that's what I'm seeing so far. I might settle on a Kaiser, looks like those are pretty well hacked, and I can get one for like $100 refurb'd through AT&T. I'm gonna see if I can scrounge up a deal on that I-Mate tho, no flash on the camera has repeatedly pissed me off with my Wizard.
On a different note, how is WM6 on a 400 Mhz processor? I'm using a Wizard OC'd to 216Mhz on a custom WM6 rom, and alot of stuff is SLOOOOW. Granted, even a Kaiser would more than double my phone power, but just curious.
Hey guys, I think it's getting obvious the Athena isn't for me. I'm gonna head over to the Kaiser forum and see what I can see. Thanks for the help.
Please i need you advice
I'm standard Pocket PC user... I need to decide whether to buy Dimond or Cruise
I've read a lot of review and comparisons but i need user opinion
Thank you for your time
Hello Fadi,
I have a TC and my cousin just bought the Diamond. I was unlocking his Diamond, and had used his phone for 2 days.
Good :
- Lovely look and feel
- Lighter than TC
- Smaller than TC in size (screen is same 2.8")
- VGA Screen!
BAD:
- Usability is bad for the navigation pad! while pressing left or right, many times end up pressing the call buttons! they are too near, and u have to press exactly near the ring.
- The HTC Home interface is quiet slow! the phone i felt seemed slower than the TC
- VGA Screen didnt make much difference to me compared to my TC.
- the 4gb internal storage looks as if htc just put in a 4gb MicroSD card inside! If u install apps on it, they are treated as if installed on a storage card! not the main memory!
- Main memory is less - only 80mb for programs!
- this attracts too much of Thumbprints, so looks horrible after handling it for some time, have to keep cleaning it time to time, so that it stays totally clean and without any thumbprints!
- Biggest disadvantage i see is - The Scroll wheel is not there! The touch sensitive scrolling in the diamond is ONLY for album and Opera! not for browsing contacts or any other navigation work, other than those 2. I use the scroll wheel a lot in my TC
I was about to go in for this trading in my TC, but then didnt, coz i was not happy with it, i didnt like it much, and i think the Touch Cruise is more handy and better.
I think, the diamond is more for girl !
Touch Cruise vs Diamond battle wins iPhone 3G
Just returned my TC to RMA (broken camera, broken wlan, blue tooth is not stable), and ordered iPhone 3G... What will I miss for awhile is Jabra blue tooth earphones support... Everything else is already there and UI designed for fingers...
Microsoft should redesign the whole Windows Mobile shell and applications to be so user-friendly as 3G... To use even Thouch Cruise with one hand is almost impossible... Try it driving your bike, you'll see what I mean.
I just bought an iphone 3g also and I'm selling my cruise.
The iphone OS response time versus the Windows Mobile is a tremendous difference. iphone is so much faster
Thanks

For me i like very much the idea of the SMSD chatting and call log enhancement
What do you think?
Thanks Insane Devil for the comparison, because i my self are thinking of sell my Cruise and buy a Diamond, but i wonder... I think i wait for the official Wm 6.1 for Cruise and look after that.
Isnt it so that if you made a hard reset you lost all settings like Cruise? Because when you have a backup of the setting in your Sd-card its very easy to restore the backup. With Diamond you must have the backup files in your Pc? and load it from there. isnt it so? Now with Cruise you have backups allways with you in the card and all the cab-files you need

I don't think so my friend as the 4G is seen as memory card in the Dimond
so you'll not lose any saved data on it
I see, now I understand so there is no problem with storing stuff in the memory..Thanks for your answer fadimck!! Im much more wiser now Thanks!

Importent thing for me is that big different among VGA on QVGA screen.
On 2,8 seem to me that not big.
Cruise or Diamond?
So I bought a Diamond an recieved a Cruise as gift.
I sold the Diamond, The reaction time of the diamond is not so good, an Im very satisfied with the cruise!
The ones who want a nice, small and stylish device --->Diamond
The others, gamers and those who are always reflashing device for a faster and nicer ROM i think theyre better with the cruise.
(my opinion)
I like Cruise more,
1.The battery of Diamond is too weak.
2.Cruise is faster than Diamond.

There comes the Iphone brigade!
I too had the same dilemma but eventually opted for the TC since the Diamond model in India comes without 3G. And the Iphone was tempting but with no front camera I thought it was a waste since India is going to have 3g very soon and no video call option of Apple. And with Apple its better to wait till they are in the 4thG or 5th, even better! Anyway they have no resale value. (in India that's imp. factor, resale value, since we don't get phones on contract or anything)
Personally... I'd wait. If the Touch Pro were an option, and I had to buy now, I'd go with that. I have the Touch Cruise, it's fine -- would probably like it much better if it had T-Mobile USA 3G bands. If the Diamond had 3D video drivers, that might be a factor -- but as it doesn't, and you can't expand the memory, seems like throwing money down the drain...
the cruise faster than the diamond? how's that posible?
im buying one of these 2 pda's next week, but i cant decide wich one, i would go for the cruise bcuz of his robust material and seemingly more durable, and the diamond for its size, and its VGA screen, there is of course the battery difference, am i missing something? are these valid arguments for choosing one or other?
thanks for your advice
Cruise has expandable memory while Diamond is fixed to 4GB internal if that's important to you. Also the Cruise is more of a true world phone since it supports additional frequencies, while the Diamond is regionalized.
Pros and Cons HTC Touch Pro aka HTC Raphael
I have Touch Pro with original ROM: 1.90.404.1 NLD
Done some registry hacks found in many threads.

Does the camera light stay on when the camera is in video mode?
I had the Eten X500+ and when I switched it to camera mode (not recording video but switched from photo mode to video camera mode) the led light on the back would stay on and made a great flashlight!
Can someone let me know if the Touch Pro does the same thing?
That would be a definite pro!
thing is, if they ever made the perfect PDA they would never be able to shift other devices unless it had major leeps in technology software and hardware wise.
That is exactly why i think they cut out the SD slot on the diamond and gave it less RAM. it makes a market for 2 devices, in this case the Diamond and the Pro, i am pretty sure that had the diamond had those two extra features sales of the pro would have been poor, only folk needing a keyboard would have bothered getting it.
Which is exactly why i cant decide which to go for yet.

I think it was mentioned that HTC had to leave out sd slot to keep it the size it is. I cant believe they would do that just to help with Pro sales. The keyboard is enough of a difference to get people to buy it. Just my opinion.

On Pro if you open camera and click on options and then click on Flash On it turns on what I would call a "Modeling Light" that stays on then flashes when you take the shot - kind of like a strobe. So yes this modeling light is a great flashlight in a pinch. Thanks for pointing that out - I had not thought of that.

thats possible, but if you look at the size of them, there is very little difference in it, and the actual size of a microSD is only a couple of mm including the connections, their not daft, i wonder how many folk go for the pro over the diamond only because it has SD, and that will be the number of forced upgrades HTC has made by not including the SD.
I just had the diamond in my hands and its tiny compared to my Orbit, i dont need the keyboard but the SD is a big boon on the pro so thats the way im leaning. otherwise id have the diamond in a flash. instantly more money for HTC

You're right in that they obviously need to distinguish the models sufficiently so they appeal to different market segments. A microSD was probably a feature that was decided to be in the more business-like Pro, and it's their prerogative to design their phones however they like. They're in it to make money, and they are going to try to squeeze as much money out of us as they can.
Anyway, there's always the Samsung i900 Omnia. It looks like an excellent phone, thinner, 8 or 16GB of internal storage as well as a microSD slot (although it does have a lower WQVGA resolution). Personally I went with the Pro because of the microSD (over the Diamond), keyboard (over the Diamond and Omnia) and the screen (over the Omnia).
Have fun making a decision, it's half the fun of getting a phone/gadget

Ugh, the Omnia? I seem to be the only one who feels this way, but I think the Omnia is a piece of garbage compared to the Xperia/Touch Pro. I don't understand why it's included in all of the talks, every review I've seen makes it out to be comparable to an LG Dare... Which, although a nice phone, isn't going to really impress anybody.

I wouldn't call it a piece of garbage, but you're probably right in terms of comparing it to the Xperia and Touch Pro. If the Touch Diamond is an option (as it appeared to be), however, then I would think the Omnia is as well (unless the difference in screen resolution is a deciding factor).
2 new cons
Here are 2 new cons:
I would like to see more favorites in the Contacts Tab of Tflo3d.
It would actually than be unlimited 'Contacts Tab' and no longer '15 Favorites Contacts Tab'.
PLus I would like to see a bluetooth icon on the 'Start'-bar or Menu-bar when bluetooth is on. Now when bluetooth is on and you browse through your phone there's no way to tell if bluetooth is still on, no icons or flashing lights tell you so.
If you forgot it is still on your battery will eat more power than when it's off.
Good place would be just left next to the 3G (or H [HSDPA]) icon.

I'm guessing there is a reg tweak. Some one on here managed to get some extra tiles and stuff on the programs tab (didnt get it 100% working but I think they're still trying). I bet there is a similar tweak for the contacts page.
Bluetooth Icon and more favorites contacts
Yep, I got the bluetooth icon back, but had to perform a hard reset to get it.
So if someone knows the reg edit to get the bluetooth icon back ones you've lost it that would be great. I probably lost it using Advanced Config Tools 3.1 or when entering some reg tweaks from several threads here on XDA.
This is for when I lose it again.
Second: The adding more persons to the contacts tab than just those 15 'favorites', so far nobody knows how. The only solution is the upcoming touchXperience by schap's, but this is a completely refurbished touchflo3d version.
I hope this touchXperience is all I need, to make TouchFlo3D better than it is now.

I am not sure what is making it so hard, you can always get a 8gb microsd class IV on ebay for around 40, and the internal storage of 500mb is obvious sufficient for any program you'll need if you are worrying about the loading time...
that Pro has "small" (?) internal storage is a non-issue
before x-mas we'll have 16GB microSD and probably even 32GB
Since I got my first Universal (JasJar) some 2 years back, I have tried several other alternatives, including TyTN 2, HTC Touch Pro, and even Toshiba G910. I have always come back to the Universal. In fact, when I broke my JasJar, I replaced it with Vodafone V1640. I have come to conclude that the Uni is the closest to my ideal PDA/phone for a business user.
But I regret one or two things about the Universal, and I honestly wish we would have a Universal 2 to address these snags. My short wish list for Universal 2 are is follows:
1) Retain the present format - don't change the form factor; it is simply great as it is. Forget those who say it is too heavy or bulky - they don't know what they want. (If weight is your problem, then don't ask for a comfortable keyboard and a large screen as you have in the Uni.)
2) Give it 256MB RAM. This is by far the biggest issue with the current Uni with 64MB RAM. Often when I run something like TextMaker (SoftOffice), the device runs out of memory.
3) Make the stylus holder more secure. Either let it click into place or have a magnetic slot to secure it, like the HTC Touch Pro.
4) Make the SD card slot more secure - perhaps with a cover. As it is, it pops out rather easily.
5) Have a built-in GPS
Any further ideas for Universal 2?
We can fantasize all we want but we aint going to get it! There wont ever be a Uni 2 for sure....atleast i'm pretty convinced about it.
I just broke my uni a few weeks ago and couldnt help but buying another one...(was quite a struggle to find a seller!). I too love the form factor and ergonomics of the uni - simply brilliant.
Anyway, I guess I'll just wait up for a while until there is something like the TyTN 2 where you can tilt the display on the Touch pro and I might just buy one of them! Or the Touch HD Pro - if there will ever be one!
Cheers!
San
Anyway, for the "wishlist" I'd basically want a built in GPS, a better 3D accelerated graphics card, MORE RAM & storage, and an outside smaller display if possible!
Video out would be essential for me, & with that hardware run GFX.
Sadly I dont think there will be a Universal 2, although I wish they would. The line between laptop, PDA and mobile phone has blurred so much, all I really wish is that the mobile industry in general stops limiting the capabilitys of hand held devices (e.g. Iphone) with closed platforms, limiting hardware capabilities and add expansion ports.
Dear rsawoseyin,
You have a Grate Idea about Universal. I also love Universal very much.
If the Universal is made according to the Specs given by you and some other features, like Multitouch Display, Accelerometer, etc., like in iPhone, then it would become Deam Machine!!!!!!!!
So, you request the iMate or HTC to create such type of Universal.

I agree with you,
I have had Jasjar and Vodafone V1640. Now I've a Toshiba G900, I'm happy with it and I've started to cook roms for it, then G900 is really important for me.
But I've loved my UNI, perfect size for me, perfect display, perfect keyboard...
To have it today with its features plus a lot ram, storage and GPS, it'll be really a dream. Yes, today we have many devices like Xperia, HD, Touch pro... BUT, apart storage, ram and gps, no one offers all the things the UNI has!
And, if I had to add a thing on a new UNI, I would put the host usb function. I have it on G900 and it can be really usefull!

You pretty much stated the main shortfalls of the Uni.
The only thing I can think of that you left out was EDGE compatibility....
I only been a Imate JasJar owner for 6 months however I love the device. I have a Wizard (T-Mobile MDA)...had it for almost 2 years but for work, I exclusively use my Uni. I send/receive A lot of emails at work and the Uni is perfect for that. Plus I like having an unique PDA.....I live in the US so many Americans never seen a Universal so most of my coworkers, friends, or people that happen to see me use the Uni look at it like WHAT IS THAT? lol.

I love the from factor "Micro laptop" but I have not seen anything for the future.....

Glad to see you're a Uni user too.
Even tho we both have the G900 and love the 800x480, hackibility/cookibility wise the Uni is just so reliable.
It's very hard to make a perfect ROM for G900 due to the GF5500's lack of proper driver while the Uni is just a plain PXA27x device with drivers readily available.
IMO the perfect Uni2 should have the following:
-PXA32x 800Mhz+ (CorePlayer makes great use of the newer SIMD - WMMX2)
-800x480 WVGA 3.8"
-KB
-Slightly less than 20mm thick
-Same folding/twisting style
-aGPS (from MSM6281)
-Tri-band HSDPA 3.5G (from MSM6281)
-256MB+ RAM
-512MB ROM
-SDHC (or even two! )
Or that concept Touch HD Pro, but with PXA32x 800Mhz instead plus MSM6281 for aGPS+HSDPA. Qualcomm's QTv isn't powerful enough for WVGA H.264 playback.
Too bad HTC haven't made a replacement for the Uni. The closest contender is the Blackstone.
My Imate JasJar's camera doesn't work so I just bought a O2 exec in mint condition off ebay for an excellent price. The O2 should last for a another year...when the price of the Blackstone goes down a bit.... $700+ for a new Blackstone is a bit steep right now for me...lol
even tho i never seen it, on paper Touch Pro looks like ideal replacement.
Nevertheless, here's my wish list for Uni 2
GOOD CAMERA. (For ****'s sake HTC, if after all these years u still cant make a good one, LICENSE technology from sharp or sony!!!!)
fast CPU (900Mhz +)
and 2D drawing acceleration chip
GOBS of internal flash memory (storage), 8+ GB
dump SD card slot, in favour of USB 2.0 access to the internal 8.0GB+ flash
lots of RAM memory, ie 512MB+
ipod/touch pro UI
QUAD band
reduce weight/thickness
higher capacity battery
GPS that works with TOMTOM
scratch/shock resistant case
Actually, I think that HTC meant Touch Pro to be Universals successor. While it is better only in some respects, it is the only device with at least comparable keyboard. You may say that display is too small. But should not need to tap display too often when you have a good keaybord.
Hi,
I am looking to replace my MDA Compact IV with either the HTC HD2 or the Toshiba TG01 or iPhone 3GS.
I have not really seen either of these phones properly, but have read reviews online.
Does anyone have any views on which is the better phone??
I have thown the iPhone in as a comparison, but would rather stick with a WM based phone.
right off the back i say the hd2 its packing a 1gz snapdragon processor. switching from the iphone and going to the hd2 u well be please. It basically the touch pro 2 with out a keyboard but the tp2 is packing a 512mb processor.
But i say get the HD2 ur getting a fast phone, better cam, look better and you can tweak your phone etc. idk it the shi lol
DONT GET THE TOSHIBA TG01!!!
I sold mine after only a few weeks, here are the problems i found after upgrading to windows mobile 6.5
1) the funky home screen stopped moving in 3D and only kinds slid across the screen
2) the g-sensor is crap somtimes u turn the phone and nothing happens, then you turn it back and it will quickly flick from landsacape to portrait
3) programs stored on the SD card, the icons would disapear after a soft reset, only leaving the generic blue and white .exe icon in there place
4)the phone is 2 thin and thus the sylus cannot be house in the housing like a htc device making it awfull to use, always saying to ur mates "DID U SEE WHERE I PUT MY STYLUS" lol
5) in landscape mode the wm start menu looks awfull and only takes up the middle section of the screen
6)there are black bars at the top and bottom of the screen, you dont notice when using a pitch black theme like "htc black//0 but use a colourful one and it looks like the top bar has dropped down a bit and it very annoying lol
i could prob remember more if you gave me a minute lol GET THE HTC HD 2

the tgo1 has the 1gig snapdragon processor too, it only has 288mb of ram compaired to the hd 2's 512mb
Thanks for the replies, looks like it will be the HD2 then given the responses.
Does anyone know what the battery life is like on the HD2 as I can only get approx 2 days from my current MDA compact IV (Diamond Touch) which is really annoying.
Also, now my mda is out of contract, may have a go at changing the rom. Which are the best roms for it??
Don't know if it is of any importance for you but TG01 has USB host and it was confirmed that mouse, keyboards and gamepads work very well with it. Don't know about flash drives though.

Check out XDA's Leo HD2 section of the forum. It has all the answers, info, & detailed threads for you...
BTW, I highly recommend the Leo!
HD2. no doubt
I can't have an opinion on the TG01, as I have not tried it. I own an iphone 3GS and recently replaced a touch HD with touch HD2.
The HD2 is, by far, superior to any phone I ever used. I have been with ETEN, and HTC for over 4 years, and iphone since the first generation. The [email protected] is the one. On any given category- it's a winner.
Screen is amazing. Capacitive (multi finger) like the iphone, but resolution is much better and 4.3" is a killer screen. GPS apps are killing the iphone in any comparison. Don't get fooled by 85,000 apps on the apple store. 84,850 of them will have no use for you, and the ones that are- you will find WM app that does the same.
Compatibility with Exchange server and outlook (actually all office apps) - HD2 wins big time again.
Keyboard- HD2 again. though the iphone is about the same, the HD2 has a wide screen. It helps a lot.
Reception - it's a phone after all - HD2 wins again (on AT&T network in the US). sound is crystal clear.
CPU speed- HD2 wins again. The snapdragon is a monster.
Battery life - OK, you can't win them all. The iphone has a better battery life, BUT I have two batteries and the HD2 wins again (with a cheat). Can't have the iphone battery out that easy.
BT - the HD2 wins again with great stereo that the 3GS can dream of having.
Music - no need for the stupid itune app. For me, it was annoying. I have 2 laptops and could never have itunes work right for me because you need to work around syncing your device. Not to mention I had hard time moving purchased songs from the ipod to the phone. You need to beg apple folks to support you after you have already paid. with the HD2 you simply put the MP3 on the SD card and you are done.
SD card- HD2 wins big time with 32G support, and replaceable cards. iphone is 16G at best and that's about it.
Camera- Until the HD2 I was thinking iphone has a great camera. Boy how wrong i could be. The HD2 with a dual LED flash wins again. Just make sure to have the camera bug fixed with a cab install and it is winning again.
Lastly- HTC is the Mercedes-Benz of phones. Apple came up with a great device but HTC eventually came out with a better one. Toshiba? Great TV sets, no doubts, but phones? They are far behind, IMO...

Keep in mind the HD2 came out a fair while after the TG01... I don't know if it's really fair to say Toshiba is behind, if anything HTC was behind for a little while in terms of hardware...
But of course right now I would say HD2 is the way to go...
Toshiba is old. I'd get an HD2!
