This was the usage cost for one day.
It is my fault of course but I changed the rom to an English one so I could understand the phone and also not be stuck with outdated Windows 6.0 and other stuff which Softbank won't update.
The phone is an X01T (Toshiba G900). Nice phone but the connection settings are hidden inside the rom from softbank.
I thought I'd typed the correct ones in and hardly used the net for a couple of months just in case. The bills seemed to be ok and I was still paying for unlimited packet usage. I updated again to 20275 and celebrated by treating myself to a couple more apps including Coreplayer. I decided to start using the internet normally again and watch a few vids online (via CorePlayer's built in YouTube client).
They sms'd me on Tuesday. I recieved the bill on Thursday. I must pay on Friday (today). They will Suspend service on Saturday (tomorrow).
I think this was my connection setting mistake.
(I applied for online billing or the ability to check it back in March. (23/3/2008) but heard nothing. I have reapplied since then but nothing happened. Obviously I'll need to visit the store. My Japanese is not very good.) Every month I pay for the White Plan, some other basic plan and Unlimited Packet usage.
The bill was about $520.
That's more than the phone.
Expensive mistake for enjoying my phone for one day.
This is not a whinge. I screwed up. We would love to be able to build an updated English rom based on the original Softbank Japanese one so that it comes complete with default (and therefore correct) internet connection settings. We have enjoyed 19202, 20273 and 20275 (which do have a few bugs) but they obviously need the user to type in the connection access point and login settings etc. Obviously Softbank don't support this or supply login settings.
I've gone back to the original Japanese rom in the meantime.
If anyone thinks they can build a rom which includes the original connection settings - then please let us know. I believe a few of us would be willing to pay. In the meantime - we are trying to learn how to build roms ourselves.

Does anyone who has SoftBank Unlimited Packet Discount know how I could have incurred this bill?
I'm still waiting for it to show up in detail on my online billing records which I've only just received login details for.
I used to often charge the phone via the PC usb. I've sometimes used the phone apps etc while it was charging from the PC. Was this stupid? Is this risky? Why? Does the phone automatically act as my PC internet connection instead of my regular ADSL or something if plugged in?
Just trying to weigh up all the possibilities. Either using the wrong Accesspoint and login details (with my rom) did this or I used the phone too much when it was attached to the pc.
With reference to the SoftBank page what exactly is `PC Site Browser' and `PC Site Direct'? (I use an X01T which is an X series phone)
I'd appreciate the advice from SoftBank customers with more experience than myself.

9000?? I would not pay it.; nor even 1100! Just say that your phone was strange/acting up/had a virus or something. I doubt softbank would push it, especially considering you are a foreigner.
In fact, I have a mate who has a x01ht and I flashed a 6.1 rom for him, putting in the right all you can access softbank.ne.jp settings, and all was well for a month or two until he did a hard-reset and said "yes" to the autoconfig wizard (which puts in the old settings that do not allow unlimited access). Anyway, he also got 55,000 bill for a few hours use (softbank actually called him when he went over 50,000, I believe). Anyway, he has pleaded ignorance and in the meantime we have flashed it back to the original rom with the correct settings and he has told them he has no idea why the thing suddenly racked up 50,000 yen charges. Will wait for the outcome.....

Ok I use to be a Blackjack 2 owner and decided to pick up the AT&T Fuze. I am use to using nothing but cab files but this whole Manila and cooked ROM thing scares me. All I am looking to do is put my home screen wallpaper on all the different screens. I have read up and tried to understand everything the best I can but I will admit I am no genius and I don't want to end up with a paper weight on my desk.

There was a cab file kicking around that will change every screen to the same one, but it kinda ****ed some stuff up. I cannot remember the name of it, but try to keep searching some of the must have type threads its out there somewhere.
Next time try starting out by asking a question you see posted already, then when they all come running to flame you.... you can sneak in your actual question they cant be bothered to help with.

AT&T applies several .PROVXML configuration files that will cause you issues in trying to replace some of the Manila components on their stock AT&T ROM.
Have you considered looking at custom ROM alternatives?

Understable; it's a big investment. Take your time, do some reading and when you feel you're ready ... do a bit more reading.
I spent a good couple of months reading before I created an account on XDA; once I felt I had all of the knowledge I needed, I created an account and started asking some simple questions to see how helpful folks would be.

I will second the custom ROM option. I was extremely nervous too (I bought the phone un-subsidized from ATT!), but the nervous feelings just made me read harder. Ultimately, I decided to bite the bullet and followed the "Flashing the HTC Raphael for newbs" thread (first post) by the ****ing letter.
So, after everything, the guide turned out to be exactly what I needed! (The only problem for me is that I'm a linux user and can't create an active sync connection, so I had to use the computer at work.) In the last week, I have tried out about 5 different ROMs, and they all out-perform the stock ATT ROM by a country mile.
My current favorites are NATF's WM6.1 for a lightning quick stock feel, and NRG's ROM for more of a custom feel.
As for getting around the hard reset problem, I reccomend using Turbo Contact Backup available here to backup and restore all your contacts. As far as email and SMS messages, I don't really care to back them up, but there are easy tools for that as well.
I'm sorry I can't offer more to your main question of using the same wallpaper on all TF3D screens, but I hope you are feeling a bit more confident regarding ROM flashing.
Ok, Android Town is now an obsolete name and application on the market. It was renamed to Peeples. Peeples is a seperate app on the market so you would need to download that one. It uses the same DB as Android Town so all your information is saved.
Peeples is a social community application which is location based. It enables users to see other users of the application on the map and strike up a conversation with them. Privacy options are also available.
So far the application has over 11k users.
Peeples has the added options of:
- uploading profile pictures and avatar through the application
- sending files from SD card with messages as attachments (5Mb limit for now)

Running it on a G1 running CM 4.2.15.1.
Noticed a few things.
1) Registration via App Only (not a big deal, just no indication on the site as such)
2) Registration within the app resulted in "passwords do not match" ANY time I left a password field even when they did match
3) Map reacts slowly when being moved or zoomed in/out
As there's no one yet in my area run ning this, I haven't tested many of the other features. I'll report as I experience more.
Thanks for giving it a try. Hopefully some more US citizens register so you'll be able to interact with them. 5000 kms (around 3100 miles) is the biggest radius so far. Most of the users are in Europe at the moment.

The concept of linking other social media is a fine idea, provided that there are switches set in place to allow for selected/unselected status. I know plenty of users who would want to publish information for their Facebook, but may want to avoid doing so on other networks.
Either way, yeah, further integration with social media is a fine idea.

Application has just been published to the market as well, under the Social category of applications.
How about making a public chat channel that every one is in , when we connect . And late maybe switch it so it will be local / country only.

Private Messages look fine on the G1. No issue there.
I'll be comparing my experience to my friend's on the Nexus. Hopefully provide you some better feedback concerning how this works with the G1's older hardware.
Edit: First things we noticed, "Passwords do not match!" error is still present when registering via the app, even if the passwords do match. This issue has been replicated on the G1 and the Nexus 1.
Other noted issues:
Attempt to "Add as friend" on the G1 results in a toast of "Error". No other information contained in error.
Sending a picture on the G1 took about 1 min 45 seconds from time of shot to "Picture sent!" toast showed up.
I'll see what I can do to provide better information (such as screenshots, etc)

Ironically, with the SNS, i did not even have to configure the APN settings, it automatically got both the MMS and Internet APN settings.
kinda funny if you ask me, it knows the Wind internet and multimedia settings but can't report the tower names
if i use the Wind (Away) towers i get charged roaming
so ideally i'd like to only use Wind (Home) similar to Tmobile Zones towers for my 3G and voice, to not see a huge bill at the end of the month
This thread on Howard Forums might interest you if you haven't found it already. Seems like the difference is that Wind sends out number instead of name if I read it correctly.
You might be able to edit the eri.xml file to deal with this, as instructed in this thread on xda for AOSP roms.
As far as CSC goes, I don't think the NS uses that. I've never seen it mentioned in discussions about other devices besides the Galaxy S line of phones using Samsung ROMs.
P.S. - be careful messing with the frameworks apk. I made a bad edit to the one on my i9000 once and it wouldn't boot. Easy enough to fix by replacing with a good copy, though.

I've been busy jumping between the 3 forum, and fixing the SGS i9000m to work properly, which i just got back yesterday, and it pretty much died on me right away after upgrading to JL2 and restoring only the backup for user app+user app settings (no system app/data restored)

Yeah, that's what some in the Howard Forums say; as long as they know they're not roaming. When you're on Wind Away, does the "roaming" indicator show? The framework shows there's a flag for it.

Here we have what Google owned Motorola has created with Project Ara. A concept to bring the flexibility and open source that Google's android brought to software to the hardware side. A modular phone that you can customize. Why buy a new phone when you can just upgrade the one you have?
Build it to your liking, take it apart and build it better! And there even bring the ability use your 3D printer to customize it (I know you all have a 3D printer by now.... Right?)
Then we have the Build your own phone plan by Zact.
Currently on the sprint network, (I hope they expend or someone picks up on this and moves to something with a bit more... SERVICE.) You can pick how many minutes, text messages, and Mb of data you have or don't have, each month. If your realize that you need more minutes, text, or Mb, you just click a button and add them. If you have extra they roll over. How can it get any better? Oh, you have kids? You can set times, and limits on EVERYTHING! or don't. Your choice, and that's what makes it AMAZING.
All this mixed in with Android, makes it the perfect phone to build and create anything you can imagine in a phone. Unfortunately, I don't see Zact adding this phone to its list of phones for sale anytime soon, and currently Zact has "custom software" that means you can only buy there phones for there plans, and you can't install custom roms or anything that might cause the software to stop working because it would leave you left with a brick, and they do not have insurance. But... where there is android, there are devs and devs can do anything with time and support.
So, the future of cell phones is looking promising. If there are enough people interested in this stuff, support the developers. Comment on the xda forums and let them know that you want them to support Zact phones. Lets get the ball rolling on this.
I am starting my Zact plan for Christmas, and I will be flashing my prl's to roam because as of now, Zact roaming is free and roaming services at my house is better then sprint service.

I got my phones a few days ago, it only took 2 weeks... I started it up, ran through the setup, wasnt thinking but aloud the OTA to run. I ran cf auto root, noticed I still didnt have su so I installed superuser from the appstore and checked root with root checker. Nothing. Then I remembered that I installed the OTA to 4.3 but forgot about Knox because I had not had to deal with it prior. I did just about everything I could think of. I also found that trying to retrieve your msl/spc is a lot harder. I am unable to get into the qualcomm usb menu because it asked for the msl, Most hidden menus are asking for msl. I attempted to install twrp but it says there is no recover found for my device. I cant connect it to dfs or cdma workshop. adb sees it, but I dont know much about adb so I want able to do much with it. I was however able to copy the ZACT mobile apk from the phone and install it to another phone. It is unstable and FC alot. My other phone sees it as a launcer like touchwiz or nova. Thought this would be a good idea to see what the apk itself controls on another phone. I am not a developer. I am computer savy and have been playing with flashing for a long time. If anyone is interested in teaching me a little, I would like make a backup of the rom. Is there a way to pull the full rom with pre-installed apks, I can factory rest back to start and just see whats available. I'd like to attempt to flash it to my old s3 make a clone kinda. So i can test an play with one without damaging my daily phone. Any thoughts or ideas on what to test let me know.

Just to set the record straight...in no way did Motorola create this idea. This was a concept created by Dave Hakkens. His concept was called Phonebloks. Motorola did some sort of deal to license the concept or something. Just don't go around saying someone created something when they didn't...its like saying Apple made the smartphone.

Wifi hidden networks always my TV starts being weird volume buttons don't work properly tv sluggish or in cast mode. Pc starts deleting my files on it's own downloads break my phone ...y phone ... My girlfriend always seems to know who I am talking to before I even know , she doesn't have physical access I can reformat factory reset within 30 minutes the same thing .. next day she's gone everything works fine .

@Pleasehelpmeoif can't really tell from your description what is happening.
If you are still working in space industry you are likely privy to some high tech IP, so you should take the issue to your work IT, hopefully they have someone with real security knowledge! As you would be a target for state sponsored hackers from other countries.
Else, only other thing that is guaranteed to fix is re flashing the latest firmware for your EXACT phone model, same country (& probably carrier if in US), you can find this info in setting "about phone". Just doing a factory reset will not remove malware/altered settings if it has compromised, so re installing OS by flashing is required.
However as your girlfriend can see your location etc maybe she or person with access to your phone installed "free" tracking app! Which then also ossibly turned out to also be dodgy . But it seems someone has access to your Google/phone mfr account which is likely compromised so you need to check what other devices have access to your accounts, remove any you don't recognise and change your Google/phone mfg password and likely your account retrieval details eg email addresses, even your phone number (if they have spoofed your phone!). This might fix.
But if it's particularly good malware/compromise that has spread through your networks then you need to factory reset, routers etc & change passwords, (imagine all your accounts have been compromised) for other devices too possibly reinstall (not just factory reset) other devices too! And change all passwords too. All devices should be done at the same time too. Nightmare!
So i would say too, youre Hacked the Signs Spoken for that!!!
Do Following
1# look what you Need for Software/OS/Firmware 4 all your Devices!!! and Collect/Download this from a other PC and take it on an USB Storage!!!!!
2# FactoryReset all your Network using Devices or make a Full Delete and ReInstall it, to have every Device in Clean State!!!
3# Reset your Router too and Setup it Freshly
4# Connect at First one Device and Setup Proxy/Tor/Orbot/VPN on this so that ya Stay Save with it!!!
5# Optional (look if your Router can be Modified like OpenWRT, and install a Proxy/VPN/Tor Service to Protect your Network)
