Can't sync all tasks - General Topics

I have a lot of tasks in Outlook 2003 and want to sync them to my wm6. All tasks were created on wm6 and synced to Outlook 2003, but I had to fix the calendar on the wm6 and in that process the tasks were removed.
The problem is, however, that ActiveSync simply will not syncronize all tasks to wm6. The tasks that are synchronized to wm6 are the ones with a Due Date.
All tasks that have the Due Date set to None are not synchronized.
Also, all tasks marked as Complete are also not synchronized.
I tried to remove the Task synchronization in Activesync, reboot wm6, and reenable Task synchronization, and while the mentioned tasks still aren't synchronized, ActiveSync now gives a warning that says that it couldn't synchronize all tasks. The error was "Support Code 1" (as if that meant anything to me).
Does anyone know what may have gone wrong and where?
I tried to fix my calendar entries the same way as I wrote above with the tasks. It worked, except all appointments were changed from Busy to Available.
I wish microsoft would pay more attention to such problems.

The problem seems to be that the Tasks, when synchronized to Outlook 2003, all were given a start date. But none of the tasks were ever given a start date.
It seems to be the Start date in Outlook 2003 is really the last modified date(!). This makes tasks end up with start dates after the end date (makes no sense to have) and with start dates and no end date (apparently not allowed).
I have to fix all Tasks manually by removing the start date from each. This will allow all tasks to be synced. Weird problem...

Exchange Sync Tasks Flag Emails how?

I have a Tilt and use exchange 2007 for syncing email, contacts, task, calendar. I use the tasks feature also in outlook. What I would like to be able to do and it doesn’t seem to work is Flag an email for follow up and then have that move into my tasks folder. If I flag an email from my phone it shows on my desktop under tasks and to-do list, but anything in this to-do list never shows in the tasks on my Tilt. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. If anyone has a suggestion I would greatly appreciate it. I need to find a way to be more organized with my email and following up on projects. Thank you for the help in advance.
I don't believe you to be doing anything wrong. It may have to do with differentiating between a defined task and the follow-up being not really a task, but more of a reminder. FWIW, I can duplicate that behavior on my WM6.1 device.
TMKnight, Thanks for the reply. Since this seems to be the way it works does anyone have any ideas on how I can do what I want. I would like to be able to creats tasks or to-do lists from my emails and even add just regualar to-do's (tasks). Alot of my tasks are associated with emails and I would like to attach them some how to the tasks since they usually have info I need when completing a task.. Thanks for the help. This site is the best for finding answeres to our mobile life.
My tasks sync both ways so maybe you haven't selected tasks to sync in active sync options/settings. As for associating emails with tasks from WM, copy and paste is the easiest but does not retain any linkage which makes that only marginally useful. There may be some other mail app that does this, possibly FlexMail.

Follow-Up Flag Support
Exchange 2007 ActiveSync lets you flag an e-mail message for follow up directly on your mobile device, exactly as if you handled the message in Microsoft Outlook. You can also mark a flagged message as completed. If you are using Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, any items flagged on your mobile device will also appear in the Outlook 2007 To-Do bar.
I can't check, as we have Exchange 2003.
Does this work for somebody with Exchange 2007?
Does this also work in opposite manner (flag in Outlook 2007 and see in Tasks WM61)?
Good point about Exchange 2007 - yes flagging is only working in that version. I can confirm flagging worked both ways.

Has somebody already found the solutuion how to make to show the email flags in outlook 2007 within the task list on windows mobile 6.5 device? The normal task synchronization works with no problem, but flagged emails dont show within the task list on windows mobile - only in the outlook 2007 (works only one way).

Exchange ActiveSync Issues - Some Data Not Synchronizing Correctly

I currently have a Palm Treo 800w (running Windows Mobile 6.1 and running on Sprint's network) that I am using with Exchange ActiveSync from SherWeb (which is running Exchange Server 2007). I have it set up to synchronize my email, tasks, calendar, and contacts. However, I've begun to notice a major issue - things are not synchronizing correctly. When I initially set up the Exchange ActiveSync, it seemed to sync everything correctly, but since then I've noticed that data (mostly contents of the notes field in both appointments and contacts) are missing. It seems this occurs when I update a contact or appointment with new data (but it also seems to potentially occur in other situations as well). The data seems to stay correct and current on the Exchange Server (when I access it via OWA or Outlook), but the notes field for that particular contact or appointment becomes blank on the Treo 800w. Further, I've noticed that, in at least one case, it failed to update the appointment subject/title when I made the change in Outlook.
Another thing I've noticed is that the Exchange Activesync doesn't always seem to occur when it should. I created a test appointment in Outlook with a subject, location, and notes, and then when it sync'ed over to my Treo via Exchange activesync, there were no notes at all. I then tried adding notes to the blank notes field in the test appointment on the Treo, and it didn't sync at all. I did a manual sync, but it still said nothing had changed. I then changed the subject/title of the appointment, and no automatic sync occurred once more. I did a manual sync, and this time it changed the subject/title of the appointment in Outlook, and overwrote the appointment notes in Outlook with the appointment notes from the Treo 800w. Finally, I deleted the appointment fromt he Treo, and it still didn't automatically sync this deletion to the Exchange server (and Outlook). I had to manually sync it.
I've made a couple of registry hacks to the device, as well as installing a good deal of 3rd party programs, but I can't necessarily see how any of those would cause this weird issue to occur. The only registry hack I made that might indirectly affect this issue is:

(this was a change to allow more data to be saved in the appropriate notes/body fields before being truncated - I was noticing that a lot of my tasks, contacts, and appointments in which I had a lot of data in the notes/body field were being truncated and I was not able to access all of that data - this was intended to allow more data to come over in the sync so I could access it).
Could this be something that's wrong with the Exchange server? or the hosted Exchange provider (SherWeb)? Or is it an issue with my device? Or perhaps a bug?
Obviously, this is a real problem for me, since if the Exchange Activesync doesn't work correctly, the device becomes much less useful. However, I want to try avoiding a hard reset since I've spent a lot of time configuring and setting up the Treo to suit my needs.
Any help, assistance, or advice is greatly appreciated?
P.S. I'm wondering if this could at all be related to the other issue I'm having with my Treo 800w:
the other issue is that when I have an IMAP account (which is pulling its IMAP data from an Exchange 2003 server since I can't set up a second Exchange activesync session on my Treo) set up in the messaging application on my Treo and I specify it should synchronize the sent items folder, and then I send something from my Treo using this account, it briefly appears in the sent items folder after being sent, then disappears, and is no longer anywhere (including on the actual Exchange server itself - I go and check the sent items folder via Outlook and OWA and its gone from there as well) - if I don't synchronize the sent items folder, then the item correctly appears in the Sent Items folder on the Exchange server itself, but I obviously can't access it from my Treo which is what I wanted to be able to do in the first place

Intersting problem this, to which i will have to give more thought, but my initial thoughts below.
I do not think it is an exchange issue, it will be more than likely the reg edits you have changed or a 3rd party app, it is bizzare how some non related apps hinder oem software.
I use outlook exchange daily and also have gmail pushed to my phone (imap) so i know that this is probably not the problem. As for your sent items, have you set ur device to save a copy of sent items?
Do you have a good backup software such as sprite backup? In past porblems like this i have done a full backup inc settings & reg etc. Then done a hard reset, set up the email accounts and exchange to ensure that the vital companents work properly.
After that, install an app at a time, syncing regularly and repeat, you know the score.
Did you back up ur reg before making changes? If so, backup your current reg, and then revert back to the original one. This should tell you if its the reg or a 3rd party app.
Let me know how you get on and i will give this some more thought.

Problems Synchronising Notes with outlook

Just was wondering have anyone else also problems with synchronising notes with outlook. Maybe one time out of 50 I get the Pro synchronised with outlook but mostly I get ether a message that attendance required or just plain error. And of course the microsoft synchronisation program is one of the worst programs I have ever seen from user friendliness. When I bought this phone I had to transfer contacts and everything else from the old phone at least twice because during the first synchronisation periods I either got all contacts double or they disappeared next time same with calendar and tasks. Very confusing is also the frase keep in device or keep in desktop all the time confusing where the hell will the notes or else will be left.
But as I understand there is no alternative either.

Synchronize device (WM 6.1) with 2 PCs via ActiveSync 4.5

I have a bg trouble. I have two notebooks. One at work (PC1) and one personal at home (PC2). I have looked for a solution how to get my contacts, tasks and notes from the notebook at work to my personal notebook. I use Micorost Outlook 2003 on both. And of course I will be able to work with my Outlook entries on both computers. I decided that I synchronize my HTC Kaiser with both computers.
The synchronization worked well with contacts and calendar entries. I suggest it. I have problems with tasks. I synchronized the Kaiser with PC2 and these happened - the reccuring entries got reminder dates reffering to the first due date. So i got for example a 114 weeks overdue task. I thougt that I change this at the PC2 and everything will be OK. But so i synchronized the same problem to PC1. And I have lost the completion in % information.
I do not know now where I have to do what to have the same tasks (title, due date, reminder date, completion) on PC1, PC2 and Pocket PC (here I lost also the reminder information). Can somebody help me please? How can I do it? :-(
And please, it is possible somehow to synchronize with 3 PCs?

ActiveSync error syncing notes

I have just changed my Outlook profile (in order to overcome a problem where I couldn't get ActiveSync to sync contacts) but am now having a problem syncing notes. I get the following error message:
"Microsoft Outlook
Synchronization cannot be started because you are not able to log on to the netowork and access information."
After clicking "Ok" everything else syncs fine (contacts, tasks, e-mail and calendar and a third party Outlook Journal sync). When the sync finishes there is an entry in the sync list next to notes saying "Attention required".
I am syncing with ActiveSync 4.5 on Windows XP SP3 and Outlook 2002 on a local computer not an exchange server.
Any help would be greatly appreciated for this annoying problem.
I have the same OS's and versions and same problem. Only, it sometimes gives the error, sometimes doesn't
SOLVED
After much trial and error and some pretty fruitless searching on the internet I seem to have hit on a solution:
Delete the original ActiveSync relationship (File/Delete Mobile Device)
Create a new Outlook Profile (Start/Control Panel/Mail)
Start Outlook...which creates a new .pst file
Copy the data from your old .pst file accross (this the tedious bit especially since you need to re-create custom views and e-mail accounts)
Re-sync which will create a new relationship with the new Outlook profile
Hope that helps anyone else with the problem.
Also, when you have started outlook (visible mode) there is no worries
