Hi guys, have anyone tried to shoot a video sequence with your Raphael? I took it tonight to Soulfly gig (light conditions were pretty bad, it was an inside show) and I was quite disappointed with the results. You can see the video below.
I did not expect HD quality, but I think my previous phone (HTC TyTN) did better....
I was suprised that max resolution you can use is only 352x288 with 3.2M camera. I used MPEG4, so I dont know how H.263 would look. It also takes a while before Raphael focuses when camera is moving. I was standing pretty close to Cavalera (lead singer).
Is there any way how to improve quality of Raphael videos?
Thanks

Hello there.
I just recently got an HD2 and HardSPLD'd it. I have Core Cell Evo v2 ROM with BSB Tweak installed. I have used the video camera for quite some time now with gorgeous quality. Later until this day I figured I would record a random video, I took a 2 minute video and the quality was HIDEOUS. it isn't sharp, it's blurred and almost hurt my eyes to look at! My battery percentage was running low, and I have applied 'Improve Video Recording quality" with MPEG-4. I tried different set of resolution and different format ended with same result, How can I fix this?? I was thinking it was the LOW battery that disabled HD Quality video recording.

not impressive, to be honest. 1080p is wobbly, 720p still a bit wobbly. not much detail. Continuously compensating for light changes. this is not what HD video recording should be, even on a smartphone.
Wobbly because most hands wobble more than tripods do
Maybe it is youtube that does the re-compression to an even lower bitrate that lowers the quality?
On my original post about the quadrant and linpack scores I noted that these videos I took are not on the final software and also yes, my hands were wobbly as hell lol. I also uploaded the original files to my dropbox, the links are on my post.
The 1080p is a 8Mbps and the 720p at 6Mbps, sound was really low bitrate.
Maybee it will be better in the final production version.
Are there 3rd party camera apps that may work?
The LG Optimus 2x films better than this, so I am sure it will be better in the final version.

I'n not a native English speaker. My 'wobbly' doesn't refer to your hands but to the typical smartphone effect you get when recording in HD and moving around. Not everything moves at the same pace creating a wobble effect.
However some phone don't have this issue as much as others, due to better hardware and/or software.
Recorded a video last night and uploaded it to Youtube but Im not impressed with the quality.
Checking the settings its set to 640x480 (VGA) but the video is awfully blocky. I was under the impression that VGA recording on the TP2 was rather good.
Am I expecting too much from the device or is there something amiss here?
the resolution seems right but the framerate is kind of low, looks to be about 15 fps and not 30 whihc may also mean the bitrate is set lower too, also the youtube conversion doesn't help
The simultaneous video and image capture from HTC is really amazing and very functional. Although according to reviews it's hard to frame a shot while capturing vids, it's really something good to have from time to time specially if you only have one cam and wants to capture videos and pics at the same time.
What I was wondering is if this is something that can be achieved with software? There certainly are some devices much better than the OneX in terms of camera quality, such as the Xperia S that I'm eyeing
Any ideas on this?
So I found this video on youtube, a 4K video, where I can see it is very bad noise in low light, so I made a comparison with the raw footage and one I made after filters.
So What do you think?

This is from GSMArena's just-posted "mini review." So I think it's too early to think. If I were to think, I'd think of all the camera/video features whose performance I'd be concerned about 4K video recording/playback would be the least of them. Unless people have 4K monitors or TVs recording in 4K is pretty dumb. It's only going to be downscaled to the resolution of what it's being played back on. For videos to be shown on a 1080P mobile device, monitor, or TV content in their native resolution would look better. And 4K videos are absolutely huge.
