Hi all,
yeaterday I installed Nadavi HTC Camera cab file. the installation did not finished, it failed (however I see that the free space on the device is smaller now).
since then, the camera shows me "unable to initialize camera. failed to set up the camera device".
I tried:
to run it from windows/camera.exe
to put out the battary for 15 minutes
read all the related posts
installed the Nadavi_OLD_HTC_Camera_5_0_4_2915_00 - did not helped
is there any solution for this?
thanks,
Royi.
If all else fails you'll have to try a hard reset. Remember to back up all your contacts and messages first.
thanks for the respond.
is this the only solution for this issue?
I just done a hard reset, and it did not helped.
someone got another ideas?
i'm really sad about that one...
I would consider reflashing the phone with the same (or maybe a different/cooked) ROM; I'm positive that your problem is related exclusively to software.
Good luck!
i'm a newbe at this...
you got any guide or something like that for this procedure?
plus, what version do you recommend?
Just to rule out a bad ROM I'd flash the original 6.0 ROM first to verify that the camera indeed works. If not, then you must remove hardspl and send your phone to service. If it starts working again you can try the cooked 6.1 ROM again.
the problem is that i'm already using the original ROM.
I never installed a new rom.
my rom ver is:
1.25.405.1 WWE
radio:
1.58.21.23
Protocol ver:
25.65.30.04H
so, is it really needed to install the oroginal rom again?
If it's not modified, then it may worth taking your chance with the service.

you mean to send it to HTC?
someone? help!
I don't know the camera fix you applied, so I don't know that it was trying to do. But since you have not upgraded the ROM or changed the SPL to HardSPL I would send it in for repair if you are still under warranty.
If not, I'd try reflashing the original ROM if you can get it. That way you will reflash everything in case the camera fix overwrote something, but that I find quite unlikely, but it's your last best hope if you are out of warranty, unless you want to pay for a repair that is.
this is the cab I installed

thanks for helping me...
I flashed to udk7 diamond rom...it did not helped as well.
How can I check if this is a software issue or Hardware?
sorry for the nudging...but someone got any ideaz?
If you have tried both original and cooked ROMS, what do you think? I'd say it's obviously a hardware issue. Reflash original ROM and remove HardSPL and return the device to service.
I tried only to flash to udk7 ROM. is it worth a try to flash to the original one?

Yes, I'd certainly try the original too since it contains OS, radio and the whole lot.
Is your camera work one time or never ?
If never work just send the Phone to HTC or go to your operator ( SAB: Service After Buying ??? like SAV in france ?).
Have you try to flash with a new RADIO rom like 1.64.**.**
Where do you bought your phone ?
Same problem for me.
Send the phone to HTC. It's a hardware problem.
Don't try any flash o fixing. If the camera don't work after a hard reset, you have a motherboard problem.
Send it to HTC and they will change the board. I have now a new IMEI number.

After flashing from sd card with a german big Storage rom and a soft reset, the phone doesn't switch on anymore.
I can't go into the bootload either.
What can i do now to bring back my rom bachup?
thanks!
When you can't go into bootloader you've probably killed it. Pls try once more & connect it with usb or ac to charge.
You need to be in bootloader to rescue it, a shipped-rom works best in this situation.
Still got warrenty, use it claiming it's cause by regular TMO update.
Cheers, M
the phone, doesn't react at all.. so if i can't get into the bootload, i will have to change it?
Is there any other possibility to reactivate it, or to boot the broken rom?
The bootloader is the most important part of the rom, so when even that's part is corrupt I see no repair possibilities other than chip swapping.
You'll have to send it back. Try out the warrenty issue, when the rom is this much damaged I can hardly belief that a service engineer can see what caused it.
Hope the best for you, M
You don't know someone in your neighborhood with a magician too? Or Live close to Arnheim. So you can try another battery, it might be empty & not charging.
No, the battary is fine, i've just got a new one on friday form Warrenty-Service, because of a broken speaker, so i'll send it away again..
I've read about some others that had same problems with that rom, and surprisingly there were people, where that rom is working well, i just don't belive that, because i did erverything right and it should've worked...
now i'm worried weather i should try it again with an other rom when i recive a new phone, or leave it as it is!
P.S: Thank you very much for your help!!!
Is the Bootloader a part of the rom, or is it an independent prog. on the phone?
The bootloader is a special part of the rom. Pls visit the wiki for complete explanation http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Magician
There's a bootloader section & a section about BS from a shipped-rom which is in my opinion the safest way to achieve BIG Storage.
Hope they fix your magician soon.
Cheers, M
Hi guys! Im from Norway, im therefore having the Europe version of the TP.
My ROM version is: 1.90.409.6 NOR
My Radio version is: 1.02.25.19
My problem is that the phone is rather slow and unstable.. Since i got it 2 months ago i had to factory reset it four times! And therefore having to install all my apps and stuff over and over again. Starting to get a little frustrating The last fault i got on the device was that it wouldn recieve sms. I had to turn off the phone, and then back on to get them. And had to do so every ten minutes to be sure that i got the messenges i was suppose to.. Kind of boring. So! Im wondering. What would you guys suggest? Would a radio update change the speed of my device?
Sorry if i double posted. I couldt find any posts with norwegian people woundering about the same
Thx in advance!
I doubt, that a different radio will improve you situation but you can easily try it without any risk. Flashing a different radio does not hard reset your device. So you can try it and go back if it doesn't show any effect.
I would suggest you to have a look at ROMeOS v1.40. That ROM is extremely fast (compared to stock ROM at least) and perfectly stable.
HTH
Okey. Thanks for the response. I read somewhere that a radio flash did make the device faster. Im not sure if my version is old or not but. Do you perhaps have a link to a radio flash guide? The only simmilar i found only said how to change ROM.
Cheers!

I found the radio flash guide. But when i tried to install HardSPL it halted saying that my TP wasnt connected to my PC. Wich it was.. So thats kinda weird.
But lets say i want to try a new ROM. My TP is set up with Norwegian keys. And the software keys on my TP also have the norwegian letters if i use the fn key. Will this dissapear? Ive never done this before. Sorry if my questions are strange =)
Anyone? =)
Hi, I have a Tilt with PDA Corner Ultimate V.10,
Hard SPL 3.29,
and radio 1.27.14.09 (AT&T Stock)
The radio is causing the phone to have no sound, but everything else works fine. I know this problem is common, but I have tried everything within my ability and cannot get it to flash to any other ROM or radio.
When flashing a new ROM or radio, it shows the current version and update version, but never gets past 0% without a 262 error
I have tried all of the solutions I found posted on the forum, (Jump SPL, MTTY, EVERYTHING) trust me i've searched and read and searched more, I am not a newb to this although my post count is low.
Is there anyone with this particular problem on this particular ROM/radio combination that can help me out?

Maybe this is another one of those 'Radios from Hell' that won't let you upgrade. Note this quote from Ultimate Radio Thread:

A clear advice to all is: always make sure you have HardSPL installed and your device is security unlocked before installing a new radio !!
Also, maybe something in this thread will help you...

Thanx for your quick reply. I was thinking along the same lines, but I installed HardSPL just fine and flashed to the PDA corner ROM with no problem, the problem arose when I figured out that the radio was causing the phone to have no sound and wanted to update it..which of course did not work. Right now I am trying the stock ROM with the same radio to see if it will allow me to flash it...

That's why I'm thinking you may have flashed a 'Radio from Hell' which is preventing any further ROM updates. Maybe something in the RFH thread I linked to can help...
Good luck!
Ok, this is a radio from hell, i found some information on it stating that when it is used with any other ROM, sound will not function. Now I am trying to revert back to the orignial ROM but I have a new problem, I cannot find the original rom for this phone (AT&T aku 0.4.4 build 18128 radio 1.27.14.09) in working condition. There is only one link to it and the file is corrupted(rapidshare). is there anyone with this operating system that could send me a link that is NOT the one posted on XDA: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=341886). Thanx to drtolson, and thanx in advance to anyone else who is brave enough to get involved.
(Drtolson, I want to try the techniques on the post you sent a link to, but it states that the steps only work with that particular radio and others have not had any success using it with any other radios.)

ok thanx, I'm downloading it again to see if it works...
Ok, i re-downloaded the file and it worked and also successfully flashed back to the original ROM, I probably won't be able to flash it to another custom ROM but at least the sound is working and the phone is fully functional. THANX TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP!

As far as i know, lot of people mentioned this problem many times but there is no S/W solution for this in this forum. Although lot of suggestions came like flash with original ROM, can u find ur original ROM, do you know its exact details??? There is no orginal ROM matching you found anywhere on net, i am sure. Try flasing cooked ROMs but not a single one will work in this situation.
Finally at last, i am 101% sure you must have to take it to service center for repair. So don't waste time and rush to a nearby service center to have a peace of mind.
Thanks for your reply!.I have already sent it back to B.T.

Hi guys,
nice work from JockyW, ookba and everyone doing the job to bring us excellent software (pls if i forgot anyone, don't be mad ). I really appreciated the RUU_MAPL_3VOLUTION_WM65_3VO.2.50.112509 for a long time but I will sell my Maple now. It time to move on and try something new. Thats why I need to go back to the Official HTC ROM. I just cannot get it to work...
Obviously just flashing the original HTC Rom won't do the job because of the Hardspl, but how do i get around this. I just need some help on going back.
Thanks in advance, UKFencer
160 hits and nobody got an idea...? Or is the answer too simple?
If i am missing something pls point me to it.
Thanks,
UKFencer
Sorry, I don't think I have any idea. I *think just flashing the original ROM should work, I have upgrade/downgraded other phones with factory/custom roms with no problem. I have a question on top of yours. If I don't Hard SPL, what do I lose? There's a thread about downgrading the HardSpl to 1.19 or 18, I don't know if that helps. I would like an answer to my AT&T question as well. Sorry about hijacking your topic but I at least bumped it.
Download original rom in HTC website. Thats all.
Or you could use goldcard model to flash back to original WWE ROM

where can i get that?
Sorry, for not replying any earlier, but was finishing my finally year project...took longer than i thought...anyway now i back to re-install the original firmware...
@Sonnguyen
doesn't work because of HardSPL...tried it.
@alinkwok
yeah, i've read about it...without a seccond mobile, i'll have to buy the software if i recall correctly.
So, any other tips where to look for howtos...?

Have you ever imagined looking into Wiki
If I were your Maple buyer I would apreciate more to have it upgraded to a cooked ROM, rather to have ugly stock.
You can go back and install any ROM you want

Yes, I agree with your sentiments regarding the ROM, point is however that once the custom ROM is flashed with the Hardspl, the original ROM cannot be flashed back, which is sometimes required, especially if something happens to the phone and it has to be returned for repairs etc to the retailers.
Strange, it´s the 1st time I know that an HTC device can´t go back to original ROM...
I´ll do some research...
The original SPL is included in the package you downloaded from here..... Just have to use it, flash original rom, and you are on your way....
How exactly do I flash the original spl nbh file? I tried replacing the hard spl nbh with the original and running RUU but the spl remained the same.
you need to get the one from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=558003
there is a folder marked original spl in there. it is the same process you did when you put the hard spl on there, just using the original nbh
