Diamond post in a KaISER FORUM??
Maybe there is something I don't get, but isn't this a forum for Kaiser ROM's. So I don't understand the need to put a thread concerning HTC Diamond in a Kaiser forum?

Some of our fine chefs here have made newer and better ROMs by using some ingredients from the diamond ROM. My hope is that maybe some of these ingredients in this newer ROM could also benefit us. Hence the listing in the Kaiser thread.
Sometimes when your busy cooking you don't have time to look in other kitchens.
Just trying to keep us up-to-date.

DK's Tilt ROM - 1.61.DKv3.4 (01/10/2008)

Hello All!
I made this rom using the Kaiser Kitchen by jcespi2005 and jugglerlkr because I wanted the new radio with the HTC dialer from a Kaiser. This rom is based on RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE so use 1.27.14.09 Radio.
As an added bonus, the little camera icon on the dialer that started voice calls on the original HTC rom acts like a talk button for those of us too lazy to hit the actually talk button. It does not however function as an end button. I can't fix this because I don't know how it's functioning as the talk button in the first place.
Do not use this ROM on the Kaiser if your going to use the front mounted camera for video calls. I have a Tilt so I removed all the Video Call png's from the rom.
154.45MB Storage Total
101.38MB Program Total
Out:
ATT Dialpad (buttons too small)
PTT (PTT button functions as Voice Speed Dial on press and Record when held down)
Adobe Reader LE
ArcSoftMMS with SMS/MMS together
Clear Storage
Camera (old version)
Esmeretec Java
IA_ZIP
Real Player
Sprite Backup
TTY Settings
Sliding Sound and TouchFlo Clicking
Windows Update
ATT Junk From Operator Package (most ATT branded junk)
In:
HTC Dialpad (big buttons from HTC_WWE, not touchdialer)
HTC CommManager (9 button from HTC_WWE, not duttty's 10 button)
.NET CF and SQL CE 3.5
ArcSoftMMS with SMS/MMS separated
Camera (new version, it's the 5.04 version that's in dutty's dual touch v2)
Samsung Time
Bluetooth Audio Fix from AT&T's 1.61.502.2
Reg Tweaks:
Disabled Fast Sleep
Disable SMS Sent notification
Removed Title Bar Clock
Turned off Date on Today Screen (turn on through Settings -> Personal -> Today)
Enable HSDPA Icon (only icon, HSPDA can be enabled through Settings -> Connections -> HSDPA)
v3.4 changes:
replaced 1.60 SYS folder with identical SYS from 1.61.
rom date changed from 1.60's 11/01/07 to 1.61's 12/26/07.
*honestly I see no difference from 1.60 to 1.61 except for the bluetooth audio fix and a bunch of AT&T bloatware that was removed in my first rom. there is no need to update to my v3.4 if you're using my v3.3 rom. if you really want to update and want the new rom date and D version during boot you can backup your settings from 3.3 and restore to 3.4 without any issues. the only reason I made this rom is because there was a request for it.*

I made a cab to put the HTC Sliding Sounds back in Settings -> Personal. It is made to become Applet11 in the registry since the last applet in my v3.3 and v3.4 rom is Applet10. Don't try to use this with other roms unless you are 100% sure that your Applet11 is not in use. Reboot phone after installing.
congrats
congrats on your rom. i hope its as good as all the other roms that have been popping up as of late.
Well... The "smart mobility" startup screen was different. Scared me at first because I heard the phone vibrate from restarting and looked over to see a black screen with white writing. My first thought was, "Oh crud. What did I do?" LOL.
It's a very nice ROM, and was basically what I've been looking for since I started flashing ROMs. I'd say it sits inbetween the ATT 0.4.4 ROM, and Kyphur's XDA-Live ROM. It gets rid of all the bloatware and nonsense, while not being completely stripped down of some useful options. The HTC Dialpad, and CommManager are much nicer than their AT&T counterparts. It is fairly quick. I will have to see what it's like after I install HTC Home and a few other apps.
Very nice work.

Sorry bout that. I don't like AT&T's Deathstar. It's just too bright and AT&T like so I used the splash from HTC's ROM.

Thanks! I'm not anywhere near the others (dutty, kyphur, custel...), but this rom fits my needs perfectly. Hope it works for you too.
Hello All. Just added a NetCF 3.5 version to the first post. Inspiration from Dutty, OEM from FAMAN.
Hi all,
I am a super newbi and just got a new at&t tilt. I want to get rid of the bloatware and install this ROM. This would be my first ever mod/rom installation. What are the steps (CID/unlock), how to install ROM. I tried to search here but too much information...can't comprehend. Is there a quick start guide somewhere? Please help. I dont want to brick my phone.
Look at the stickied thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334679 by pof. Pretty much all you have to do is download the attachment at the bottom of the first post, activesync your Tilt, run the exe and follow the on screen instructions.
Remember if you want to use my ROM to upgrade the radio also. Links to ROM and radio are in the first post of this thread.
Thanks for the ROM. Exactly what I wanted. I like the dialer and comm manager from HTC - leave out all the att fluff and give me back the PTT button. Great job.
The Phone pad
I have a brand new Tilt and have added some cabs and i can say i would be very happy if I can just find the HTC phone dialer. Can you point me in the right direction?
Thanks

If you do a search for "touch dialer" or "kaiser dialer" you should be able to find a bunch. I'd rather not recommend any one dialer because I can't guarantee how well they will work on your phone. Hope that helps.
.Net fix in first post
If anyone is using my DK35 rom with .NetCF 3.5, please install the cab on the bottom of my first post to fix .Net issues. There are 6 files that are the incorrect version in the ROM. The cab file will replace these files with working versions.
Anyone using DK35v2 does not need to install this cab. Sorry for all the trouble.
sound?
awesome work, I love the fact that its very lite! but! im not getting any sound. nada. when i slide out the keyboard or play mp3s, i only get a clicking sound from the speaker. is this happening to anyone else? sound works fine when i use a different rom.
Edit: Works now! Thank you, akadonny!
Blar, check your radio version. You need to use 1.27.14.09. I have a link to it in the first post by jscepi2005. No need to flash the ROM again, just do the radio.
Will this rom cause problems if installed on a Kaiser rather than a tilt. I am looking for a 3.5 .NET rom but would prefer not to hose my kaiser in doing it.
Bratag, I only have a Tilt so I'm not able to test. I would guess that if the stock ATT rom works than this should also. I'm also not sure if the front camera on the Kaiser would work.
Hidden Proxy
Did you strip the enable/proxy settings?
Thanks,

austinsync, i know this is completely unrelated, but in another thread you said you had the official HTC WinMo 6.1...I was wondering if that had the same new interface that was shown on BGR?

nicely done austinsync!
Any screenshots?
I dont know if your being sarcastic or not, but winmo in that video is for the smartphone edition a.k.a winmo standard. the kaiser runs on winmo professional. So no it does not have what you were asking for.

ok, then you just confirmed that microsoft is truly retarded, actually offering something really decent in winmo 6.1 for smartphone but not for professional.
may I ask why you'd decided on this ROM ( reboot bug ) instead of the others ???
3.02 has older softwares ... I can understand that ...etc
but why not v3.08 ??
just wondering ...
I've used your "BigStorage" ROM before ... great work !!! it left the custom installing to us users, that's what I like !!!
the new VodaPhone ROM is lots slower even though it is "newer" I did lots of testing and this is the fastest ROM to date. I will post screen shots soon as I have been cooking something new using this base If it works out well I think you all will like it!
the reboot bug is a small issue that is worth having for what you get with this rom After using KaiserTweak or Shaps tool and ajdusting the cache sizes it flys!!

I havent tried any 6.1 roms yet, but yours was the first one I flashed to when I got my kaiser. Welcome back and keep up the good work...

TF3D Performance Issue

It is obvious when the phone is in hard-reset stage and you watch the DEMO video about the TF3D, the performance is quite facinating!
As you have your device passed that stage and it is ready now, the TF3D is bit sluggish and not as it demonstrates on the video! Quite interesting huh?
@least the Programs tab is not what the demo shows not even the scrolling speed!!
Is there a way to overcome this it is quite normal and the DEMO video is just a tuned sequence?
Search for "Raphael Tweaks" in the search function, there are a bunch of ways to speed it up.
I have seen most of them and used couple. My question is do I have to tweak in order to achieve a top notch performance on a brand new device with just two applications installed?! I mean did that demo device have a tweaked settings or registry tweaks loaded?

That device had 3,924 gigs of ram and a 293847ghz processor with 234837mb of memory for graphics acceleration. The demo makes the device appear how they want it to appear, not necessarily how the device will perform. Not fair, I know, but that's marketing for ya.

My Pro Runned Quite all right even with out Tweaking.
And it ran better with FireRom.
If you look properly at the DEMO, when he slide the thumb to switch screen, you can see the transition animation but on the real device, it just change. I'm going to complain about this.

What's your favourite cooked ROM?

In about a month or two I will be putting aside my Kaiser and make way fo the Touch HD so what better way to spend the remainder of time with my Kaiser then to flash cooked ROM's!
So for the past few weeks I have been testing several cooked ROM's and here's my current favourite ROM's in no particular order based on speed, stabilty and appearance:
- SJ' HD ROM's III (shortly will be testing IV)
- PDACornerUltimate.V4
- Garmin.DK.4.Manila [OS 19971.1.4.0] - v4.4a/b/c
- MBarvian's Solace v1.5 BETA
- L26_KaiserTouch_V1_M2D
I think in there own way they are all great ROM's cooked by the finest Chefs!
If I had to choose one for my own personal permanant use it would be between SJ' HD ROM's and PDACornerUltimate.V4 I think they are both on par in terms of speed and stabilty but I think the coloured icons of PDACornerUltimate.V4 do it for me
To all the cooks well done guys and thank you!!!!
more flashing and more testing to be done........
I'm using mbarvian's Solace V1.5 beta at the moment and i'm very pleased with it. I've used the Hyperdragon III rom's and they are great too. I don't have a favorite. I'm trying new rom's when i feel like it.
PDACornerUltimate is my favourite rom since the coloured status icon. LOL
And also it is very convenient because it has all of my need.
sorry for my question ... which ROM is "SJ' HD ROM's III" ?

i just got a kaiser and im gonna flash my first rom, hyperdragon is getting a lot of attention and looking good for me. i have unlocked it just fine and was waiting for a thread like this to confirm that that rom is one of the best
any other recommendations??
For me it's NATFs ROMs (AT&T, not Manila).
This Manila stuff is way too inflexible. I spent hours and hours testing Manila ROMs (two by NATF and Hyperdragon III) and trying to configure them to my liking. But Manila is inflexible to changes/customization, and even the fledging utility found in the forum - is not enough.
Next week I'll test another "regular" ROM.
NATF ROMs here too.
I'm running V4 Manilla Laoded right now on my mian phone and ATT Loaded on my older "back-up" phone. The each have their positives and negatives.
- Can't change the fost key in Minilla.
- Can't run anyother other home screen plug-ins with Manilla running.
-Manilla allowes you to have multipal cities in it's weather vs. just one in HTC home weather.
- Manilla allowes you to have more contacts in it contact launcher and many more apps in it app launcher then HTC Home.
But I hae found them both to be excellent ROMs.

Use SecondToday cab (look it up in the forum).
It allows you to create a duplicate Today screen, where you can place all your Today plugins (either WM standard or s/w that you installed).
Then you assign it to any h/w key (I used the PTT button in my Tilt) - and voila! you're (almost) back in business regarding Today screen versatility.
But I didn't like the lags and REALLY didn't like the lack of customization abilities in Manila

its all about the simplicity of "today plugins" and the easy customization and manipulation of the today screen...
once "manilla" came in....THAT went out the window...and like u said the whole 2nd today screen was supposed to solve that but still....it isnt the same...
im glad i found a couple of ppl like me...who arent big fans of the manilla revolution lol...but as you can see in the listed roms in the 1st post...they all are manilla based...and in the last month or so...there hasn't been any regular cooked roms excluding 888's roms...
i haven't flashed in a long time and the reason is the lack of these non-manilla based roms...hoping any chef out there will cater to the needs of myself and the others in this minority
Well, there's the NATF v4 ATT ROM, and soon I expect there'll be a 3G version of aruppenthal's 3.57_19214 RR Edition V3.7 (he's already published the 2G versions).
I really don't understand how people are willing to sacrifice easy of use for a facade...
(and I really put a lot of effort to try and adapt to the 2 Manila ROMs I tested).
Currently using MBarvian's Solace v1.5, I find it fast, stable, and has landscape! I love the manilla 2d. Not much of a fan of the regular Home screen. I have only had my tilt about a month and I don't use it for the PDA functions. A little email, a bit of text'n, mostly I wanted to stream Sirius Radio at work as they shut down internet. I love the Theme customization available for M2d. Its awesome.

I take your point on board, with manila 2d it's a case of either you love it or hate it! however in my case I do not have any lag issues when using SecondToday combined with manila 2d it fits my purpose, of course this all depends on what ROM and tweak you use, as I have noticed with certain ROM's the SecondToday doesn't run smoothly!!
My absolute favourite is HyperDragon. No other ROM (and I've flashed 'em all!) comes close to the responsiveness and stability (sorry Leo )
Besides, I do not think that the Kaiser is really compatible with the Manila kind of touch interface by design (ever tried to scroll thru the index bar of Random Access with your finger? ). That's why I still stick to good old HTC Home.
Sleuth 3.0 - fast? I dont really know cause never tried other cooked ROM, but I know it is reliable and stable ...
AthineOS for me. The home V2.2 version. Stable, fast and ALOT of free ram.

I f you are in Southeast USA, then without a question, the best Rom is PDACornerUltimate.V4 with Radio 1.65.24.36
I should know, I have tried every new Rom since I got my Tilt (Year ago).
PDACornerUltimate.V4 got my vote.
hyperdragonIII (11-10-08)
I flashed hyperdragon yesterday. I liked it but there were too many bugs and no landscape just completely killed it for me.
Today i tried solace but ended up not liking it. The landscape wasn't really how I was excpecting it to be but still at least it had landscape even though i didn't really like it. there weren't as many programs as other roms give you on it. Also manillas are too hard to customize for my linking at this point. When they are further developed then they will probably become the only kind of roms I use.
Right now I'm using duttys diamond v1 and i seem to like it. I liked the looks and stuff of the manilla better but I like duttys rom performance better.
I'm going to check out a few of those NATF roms because I've heard they're really good.
It doesn't matter where you are in the country or the world...The ROM has nothing to do with it...its the RADIO!!!
And being a former Chef on here, I have to say HyperdragonIII is by far the most stable, responsive ROM out right now.
Simple things like...
On M2D if you go to another widget you can press the END key and get back to home!
The dialer is perfect and easily changable by skins. WIth a few minor AdvanceConfig changes by battery lasts easily 2 days with moderate use.
Just my info, but HyperDragonIII is the way to go right now. I have tried to build my own ROM lately, but keep going back to his!!!

I'll test and post a review as soon as I get my hands on it. My sem exam results came out pretty good, so now I'll be able to do some serious stuff in the remaining part of my holidays full-heartedly.
All I need is a good clean and minimal 6.5 PRO kitchen and then, lots of googling.
*licks his lip in greedy anticipation*

Have patience, friend.
Even I am eager to flash and test a new PRO ROM but let him deliver his best. Give him time.
do i need to change my BINFS size?
if so, what would be the best size to use for this rom.
this is what is my opinion so far:
Stable rom no crashes no crazy stuff.
my radio works in this rom (i can send text and make and receive phonecalls) in short:
JouSePo great work, i DO apreciate your efford in this rom...
but i have problems and wishes.
1: how do i get rid of the battery bar?
2: why is this a ported touchscreen version and not a candybar model version?
3: why is there a on screen keyboard on this? (this probably belongs to question 2)
anyway, if it's just more work to make it a non touchscreen version then i'd like more efford in the rom itself than all the fidle stuff like fancy startup screens and battery bars and usbstick mode...)
reason: I CAN install those apps myself, however i CANT cook a rom...
again i do appreciate the work, but too much attention to the extra stuff, and to little attention to porting this rom from touchscreen to candybar mode imho....

On initial testing, even I share the same views of Homertje.
@Homertje,
1. Try clicking on the VistaBattery in the \Windows folder. This is a crude way though. I'll let you know if I find out the proper method.
2. Because this is professional version. Some of us like it as it is much much faster, gorgeous and can run Touchscreen programs.
3. Some programs cannot utilize the keypad and so, we are forced to use the on-screen keyboard using the FakeCursor.
@JouSePo,
I love the new xT9 included. Now clicking on 2 results in a instead of c. I can type the numbers directly too. The last ROM to have this was the wonderful Kamikadze RC 7.
Please use .NetCF 3.7. It seems (from PKGTool) you are using 2.7.
Also, if possible, use calculator from the Standard version. This is too cumbersome and impractical to use. Less themes would be nice too as it saves some space and we can always install ones we desire.
Could not download from rapidshare.. bad my network could not succeed through web proxy too so, could not try
But I support rajathvsm.
1. I hate VistaHideBattery.
2. Calculator from standard is better.
3. Like sollitiar game from standard
4. Kindly check for battery life
I hope this release is a better one, and somebody will help me with a mirror Thanks
Things to do....
-lockscreen doesn't exit with 0 key :s (also you can use fakecursor activating with long vol down)
-in esn version tsk files are lost during build but resources yet copied (don't know why. Copy tsk files to your windows folder and will be fine)
-¿can someone upload calculator from standar?
-.net version is the default. next version will include but size of rom for build is at 99,9%.
-ie6 and office aren't installed because no space
Tips...
-WMWidget support are installed only need to install a widget
if you want can remove internet sharing, modem link and some other stuff for include some more improvementes like ie6, office, wmwidgets...
EDIT: if someone could find Standar SYS for 23001 build or 21820/15 would be great!!!

thanks great reply, so the rom beeing a touchscreen version is on perpose, is that right...?
then my question would be is there going to be a pro version wich is ended to the candy bar mode?
even if that means no onscreen keyboard, no support for touchscreen programs (as i almost never use custom software anyway.) and still have the honeycomb menu and opacity on the lower bar in today screen..
as having the fullscreen themes and the new menu is actually the ONLY reason for choosing 6.5 pro rom...
if that is so then pretty much this rom is not ended on my use. still if its intentionally a touchscreen version, mad props that this is quite a good rom...!

If that's what you want, then go for SGregory's 6.5 Standard ROM and then install the titanium panels cab of Rickwyatt. But you won't get the programs menu like the PRO ROM. Still, an advantage is that you can use your keypad to access the programs, unlike the PRO where you have to use your D-pad. You won't get the speed too. And the font size is too big and is a waste of the Tornado screen's capacity. SGregory's ROM is excellent, I might add. Its only the drawbacks of a Standard ROM that keeps me away from it.
Hope that answers it.
Pro??
I am a Pro user and almost broke my D-pad.
Bad thing of Pro is it addicts. I am noway back to Standard.

The solution to your dilemma might be 9 way keypad. As the name suggests, it uses your keypad to move the cursor in 9 possible directions.
I haven't used it as my D-pad is fine but I am planning to shift to it later as a precautionary measure. Tornadoes are wayward when it comes to directions.
