I tried MS Voice Command 1.5 and I found it very good. The only thing that is missing is the text to speech capability. I notice Fonix Voice Central 3.0 is available from Handango, but there is no trial version nor review from people (26) who purchased it. Can anyone comment on the software? I tried Fonix Voice Central 2.0 and the voice recognition is not good and it doesn't support "nice to have" commands like "What is the time?" or "What is the battery level?" just like MS Voice Command 1.5.
Thx.
I'm using Fonix VoiceCentral 2. is there any chance the upgrade is free for version 2 users?
Has anyone tried MS voice command? How was it?
The link to the trial at Handango is broken. I'd appreciate someone posting the trial if they have it.
And I AM after the trial. If you've got the full version please keep it to yourself.
Thanks.
EDIT: The link is working now. I'd still appreciate veiws though.

It's awesome.

Yes, Handango have loads of them £24.99 each.
If the software is good and does what you want then go buy it.
This site is a valuable resource and distributing illeagle s/w is a sure way to spoil it.
I have been using MS voice command for one year now. It is a great software especially the phone support. You can dial any phone number by speaking the number or any name from your contact. The problem is that if you are outside it will pick up wrong names sometimes. Another thing is the accent. The software is designed for american accent somehow.
Other than that it is a great software and perfect when driving. Another advantage is if you use your xda for listening to mp3 music files. I have hundereds of songs on a 1 GB SD card. I will speak the name of the song and it plays in WM player. You can also speak the name of the artist or the album.
I hope that helps.
MS have released a UK version of this now, although I've been using the full US version for sometime now with no problems with the voice recognition.
However the Voice dialling of phone numbers is based on US dialling codes so it doesn't recognise numbers if they are not in US format, However i Just voice dial using contact names and it works fine.
Best thing is there is no voice training necessary like Fonix ect.. and it will also control nearly every other Application via voice as well
Has anyone else noticed that the bundled version of MS Voice Command is the US and not the UK version? As I can't be bothered to fake an American accent every time I want to call a contact or dial a number I wanted to uninstall it - bundled software so no option; install over it - can't.
I have flagged this to Palm, and I'm just curious whether anyone else cares - so I am putting up a poll.
Many thanks!

Dears,
I have a problem whenever someone calls me i can't see the contact name even though in my contacts..
My Regional Settings are set to English (UK) as i do on all my WM machines.
Didn't have the problem with the original ROM (Latest HTC WM6.1 ROM) my country code is +961 and the dial sequence is as per below:
+961 (a) xxx-xxx
When someone is dialling it is showing (a) xxx-xxx. Anyone have any idea what setting should be changed to enable name viewing inside of the dialler?
Also noticed in case i dial a number 0(a) xxx-xxx the name does not pop-up but in case i dial 00961 (a) xxx-xxx the name comes up.
My Current ROm and Radio Version are as per below:
ROM: 3.18.931aCS WWE
Radio Version: 1.59.42.15
I think the problem is with the Registry, any Help will be great....
Cheers,
Jack
Solution........
Hey guys found the solution, edit the phone WM6 registry, with a registry editor (you can download a freeware version anywhere).
Edit this register:
Record:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\CallIDMatch
When you find it, change the decimal value from 8 to the desired number: eg 7 in my case.
Hi
I updated to the latest Jf RC9 release from Jf RC8 hoping it would correct the problem with the voice dialler using the US number format and having useless recognition but no joy.
My locale is set correctly but I can't find anywhere to set the voice dialler to be UK!
Do I have to train this application for my voice or does it function like my Nokia N95 8GB which just does it with no training?
Any help/pointers would be greatly apppreciated.
Apologies if this is a dumb post and the answer is obvious but I've trawled through the posts here with no success.
Thanks
