I've been given a new replacement Wizard, so im back to my old crappy T-mobile ROM (cringes). I have not been on for ages, so i just thought id ask you to recommend me a good new ROM.
Im looking for a largeish pagepool so it will run nice and quick. I have an SD for programs etc . I wouldnt mind some decent software as well, not really bothered about the stupid cube or any of that ****, but HTC Home etc working correctly would be nice. See what you guys think
There are currently many great new roms here, so long as your phone is unlocked and ready to receive the new roms. There are sticky posts at the top that tell you how to tell if, and how to unlock the phones accordingly.
G3 or G4 ??
The latest roms here are working well for the majority of the users - and each offers a little something for everyone, depending on your needs - one may be better than the other.
Slim 6.1 / TNT lastest / KhanX / Octavio 6.3 / Vanilla roms
All great roms, read the posts, see what users are having issues with - and pick the best one for your needs. No easy answer - try them, and use the one that best fits your needs.
Good luck
Looks like they've given me another G3 which is good. I like the the G3 method, allows me to revert back if it ever needs fixing again. Ive been looking at that Slim one, which looks very interesting. TNT is what i had on before, but it sometimes was slow, but that was possibly my fault. If only i could utilize the internal memory and make a bigger pagepool
What would you guys recommend then, based on what im looking for?
Doesnt matter,look at bill_in_mtl his post,just get oneand try,G3 is oke,if you have a G3 device
true it doesnt, but i havnt been here for a while

I think one of the differences between say the TNT and the Slim ROM's is the amount of programs built into them. I have used the Slim ROM and liked it as it has very little included. The TNT has more built in even the offical version has more than I like but that is just me.They all seem to work well. Myself I cooked a very plain 6.0 ROM with theloons kitchen and so far I keep going back to it. Give me a kitchen for the 6.1 ROM and I'm all over it. its right as said that he may release a kitchen for his ROM. That would be great.
Kirby
Im trying the TNT rom. lets see where i get .
Im going to change the pagepool, whats the maximum recommended? is there any sort of size where the performance wont improve?
Cheers
OK, whacked on TNT. running great, but the Home audio manager (which im very used to using lol) comes up with some error "AudioManager.exe" cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate....... etc etc. Is there anyway of signing it, because i know its installed properly!

I think the max page pool is 12Mb but could be wrong. Somep;ace in the system is a place to tell it not to worry about trusted certs. Can't rememebr where it is at but a search will turn up the info.
Kirby
working on finding that place. Now ive upped the pp to 12mb, it runs like a charm. and i installed this SRS WOW driver and its a beast. just going to install home then im sorted
Someone said it might not be, and thats its files missing. but that actual software itself works. it just happens to not execute from the front of home!
Okay, i think i want to change already. When you press the power button, the audio goes off as well that was one of the best features of the old TNT rom. Looks like its time for a change

Just go back to TNT's latest 6.0 ROM it is real nice.
Slim 6.1
By Merlin Reloaded
Super fast and super stable and not loaded up with ANY bull****. That means you can add all the bull**** your self.
I tried TNT 6.1 Rom and even with a huge pagepool it ran slower. I noticed that 6.1 roms run better with a smaller PagePool.
I tried OCtavio's rom but I think it had some annoyances I couldn't live with.
TNT is best in Batery,
Octavio's rom was very good..
But so far my favorite is Merlins 6.1 It has a medium drain on the battery so I bring My charger if I plan to surf the web at starbucks. other than that it will last over a day with normal use. (like 1hr conversation and about 50 text; google downloading mail; and so on. also WiFi G enabled.
ahh, i migth put the slim one on just to try it. but id rather not have it drain battery. for some reason the sound has gone dead on my phone. ive read somewhere its a glitch (ive got that one i posted in below). how do you get the sound back ?

Sounds good. Ill bang it on tonight. Im using one thats real nice, but its just a bit too clustered, if you get what i mean. Theres applications everywhere and its totally unsorted. seems very badly done, but actually it runs great. I wouldnt mind SRS WOW as well and I know TNT has it, so i shall experiment. Does the audio manager boot from HTC Home etc? And does it allow me to turn the screen of when listening to music ?

Hi, my name is Xtreme and I am a Flashaholic
I have not flashed my device for a week now, but Shep just released his latest ROM which so tempting to flash to. My device is working absolutely fine and I have no reason to flash, but I still really want to.
Please help me
Same here, but I keep switching from Mystic series and Lauzeberry, and RRE, and NATF.
I feel like if I had two raphael's I would keep flashing both of them untill the rom chips fried of the phones.
So i was going to recommend you send me your phone to "help" you from flashing all the the time, but I'm no better off than you...
I am so under the influence of flashing that my buddy just got his Fuze and I am flashing his device too.
Kind of forced him to let me do it.

Count me in on this one. I flash just to flash. Something doesn't seem right with the phone - well might as well reflash it. Phone's working too good, better flash it. Can't find that setting - must be time to flash.

Have fun with it.
I have been flashing Motorolas at first. My V3i got the most abuse and any other Motorolas that followed. The on to my Cing. 8525, flashed till it ran away to the UK lol, Tilt 8925 so many ROMs flashed to it it got a complex for me but works well with my cousin's girlfriend I sold it to and now my Fuze....I am trying not to flash it too much and my time not allowing me to unleash plus the fact that my phone needs to be stable for my job. So RRE 5.8 on it and only recent flash was the Radio 1.12.25.19. I want to try the 1.14. soon..MUAAAAHHHAAHHAAA!
To flash or not to flash...why the heck am I even asking? Ofcourse I'll flash!!!! What? 4.6 is out? FLASH!!!! Curios about ROMeos? FLASH!!!! I have backups all over the place on my microSD card that if I don't like something, I'll just revert back to the previous ROM...we, seriously need to get a poopoo phone...but even then, I'd still try to figure out how to mess with it...

lol...I did have a poopoo phone before my raphael. I had a LG shine, which was alright, but I thought it had potential to be better, so I did what I do best -- mess with it. Sure enough two days later the phone was fried.
After that I finally thought it was time to move into the 21st century and buy a touchscreen and boy-o-boy did I pick the best from the rest. I absolutely love this phone. I am contemplating whether I should buy a Touch Pro or just stick with this phone.

My bad, I meant the Touch Pro 2.
I have the Fuze, but I also like the big screen that touch pro 2 has.
I love the fact that I can flash and customize my fuze to the limit and maybe even beyond. Not sure if that will be the case with TP2. I think it will take a while before devs and cooks get their hands on TP2.
Tempted...
SO...here I am...Rainy Monday, no business to speak of, and contemplating a 6.5 ROM...I already backed up my backup of my backup's backup...About to try it...but something is holding me back...
TODD!!!! Where the hell is your 6.5 ROM DAMMIT!!!!!!!
Pacing back and forth...fingers a-jittery...I wait....and backup.
im proud of you going for a whole week. I wish I was that lucky at this time in my job I have so much down time I do about 3flashes a week. I think I might get the Palm Pre just to kee me from flashing so much but then again I have another touch pro beside me I wish you all luck in holding back.
My troubles are over. I switched over to the other side. I used to be like you, cold sweats, anxiety, trouble sleeping.. now its all better. I became the pusher man, I am in control of my drug. Ever since Da_G released his kitchen to the masses, I got on board. Now whenever and wherever I decide I want a new build, or need a fix, I just cook up some ROM goodness with exactly what I want in it, dirty or clean, and choose the bugs I want to mess with or not. I'm never without a new flash, I am the tamborine man.

HAHA lol dude
I guess that is the best way to get rid of this addiction.
Become a dealer!
This flash addict has one slight problem. I keep wanting to flash more, but I can't find a way to auto setup my peoples tab and it is annoying the hell out of me. Anyone know a fix to this one.
Yeah, I'm planning on testing my dope out on some of you soon. I just have to secure my plan of action and get the nerve up. There's so many new cooks out there, I have to make my ROM more tempting for the junkies. Any ideas?
Flash Junkie....
Hi, my name is Nakia and I am a flash junkie .
Okay so I haven't had my phone two weeks...so literally and technically I am a noobie. I found this forum before I bought the phone. You all are actually what made me get this phone... I absolutely love it. I have flashed three times already and tonight I will flash again...my next is Shep's ROM. So far I've had NATF, RRE, and ROMeOS. I am trying to see which one I like and have actually started the process to try and make my own (probably going to take a while). But this is very addictive.
I have tried Timolol's WM6.5 and...I forgot the other...and this one was good for awhile but it's getting insanely buggy.
If you like the ROM you're on, and have been on it for a bit, then point me in the direction. I'd really like to use 6.5 but if I can't find a stable one, then I'll have to revert back to 6.1
Thanks
Energy Roms
DaG's WM6.5 21518 Clean ROM without MSVC is working very well for me.
Learn how to use UC and proper backup tools and then you can flash away and try as many roms as you want!
This is such an open ended question because many people have personal preference.
with that said. I would recommend NRG's EnergyROM, very stable 6.5, been using the june 30th version with a couple minor cosmetic issues, which i do not even remember what they are.
EnergyROM works also great and stable for me.
My experience was different from most those posting here. I found the 6.5's buggy. Third party calendar programs are particularly problematic (reoccuring events not even showing, to name one problem). I wanted to like the EnergyROM's... really I did... but alas, I went back to 6.1. So far, I'm experiencing stability with NATF v4.7 and liking it. I won't go back to the stock ROM.

Hi, have used PROven_ROM_2.4_WWE_Manila_TP (it's WM6.1) - very good,stable and fast.
Then got Energy 3.0 50409a MSVC Raph (wM6.5) and I'm absolutely happy with it. Didn't encountered any problem so far, NRG28 does his ROM's in top level-very professional!
If you want a clean ROM with very little battery usage go with RRE's or Da_G's for absolutely stock. NRG's uses way too much battery, I enjoy charging once every 2-3 days rather than once a day but to each his own..
The most stable and bug free ROM is the latest HTC official ROM. As Da_G said in other thread, there are serious issues in 6.5, so there is no such thing as stable 6.5 ROM - eventually you will face with unnacceptable bugs, like some of XDA members did...
Like what? I don't see many if any bugs that hinder my day to day activities in 6.5, it runs smoother, it's sleeker and unreleased to the public giving it that extra "shimmer", and the built in scrolling effects are just amazing.
What bugs are you speaking of??
WHAT???
pilgrim011- There is a bug free version of WM?
When did that happen?
I too like the energyroms.
I put my crap battery life down to not having found a decent UK T-mob radio yet rather than the rom

I was on the 6 hour flight and decided to play with the phone a bit out of boredom. It was locked up.
No problem soft reset. Continued to lock-up.
No problem, PIM Backup, Hard reset. Then the keyboard would not switch to ABC from 123.
No problem, switch to another SIP. It would hold the change; it kept switching back to the ROM default. No problem, just use the hardware keyboard. A couple of great days in Ireland and it was time to take a quick phone pic to send home. Camera would not work; missed the moment. Fiddled with it a bit, could not get it to work.
No problem, hard reset and try again. Camera works now, keyboard seems to have fixed itself, but phone turns off randomly.
No problem, flash another ROM I have on my storage card. Everything works now except the phone. It has a signal for 5 minutes, then no signal for 5 minutes, over and over.
No problem, switch to manual network selection, could not access the settings.
No problem, hard reset. Works fine now. Ready to take a quick picture at a golf outing where I did not lug my Nikon around. Phone has turned itself off again, missed the moment. Time to surf up some quick directions, IE locks-up.
No Problem, switch to Opera, takes forever to load, my sister already has the directions on her damn iPhone before opera even loads.

OK, don't get me wrong, there are things that I don't like - low in-call volume, TF3D is sometimes behaving weird etc., but there is always a .cab or .reg to solve these issues, and to tell you the truth, there are no serious issues with HTC ROM, phone is stable and solid as a rock. Of course, Energy ROMs are way faster and more pretty than official ROMs, but I prefer my battery life, stability etc. over speed, beauty and bugginess... And I don't want to flash my phone every 5 days.
Fair enough pilgrim011
Btw has anyone found a work around for the word completion on the keyboard that actually works regardless of wm version???
For what its worth I love/hate wm6.5- I hate that everyone now thinks that we have to have icons because we are too thick to use menus, if I really was that thick I would have purchased an iphone!!!

You just beed to flash a custom ROM.

When I first got my Fuze it wasn't up to par with my Tilt, but after I learned the device and cooked my own ROM, I love it.
I stayed with an older WM 6.5 build because it seems to be stable, but I haven't tried any of the new builds that have come out.
There are some chefs releasing new versions all the time. I just cook for my personal consumption as I don't have time to support a ROM on this forum.

Start here and you'll learn in no time.
Hmm, have you looked at the clarity of the screen??
There are a LOT of advantages over the tilt:
* Ascetically the fuze is way more beautiful than the tilt
* The Fuze has a 5 row keyboard (though AT&T removed the control key)
* The LED flash makes for a great Flashlight with the use of an application cooked into most roms (use mine many times a week on average)
* Stylus is magnetic on the fuze (and also a sensor for detecting if the stylus is removed)
* form factor is a little bit smaller than the tilt
Only real advantage i see is that the tilt screen well... tilts
But thats the only thing missing if you ask me.
I never heard of a replacement upgrading to a better phone, consider yourself very lucky! (and if you aren't happy, sell the phone on ebay and buy a tilt, pocketing the extra cash!)

Try some 6.5 ROMs, I think you'll like them.
Glad you're enjoying your phone!
Is your old Tilt broken? Did you get the replacement through warranty or through insurance? Odd that they wouldn't want the Tilt back. What is wrong with it?
Give one of the 6.5 roms a try, you WILL love em...I know I like the one I'm running (RRE's). The new "finger friendly" icons, larger easier to use menus. I hardly use the stylus anymore. I've been using windowsCE/windows mobile all the way back to the Dell X5 days, so it's taken a couple weeks to get use to not trying to click in the upper left corner for the start menu with the new 23034 & up interface.

Running Sprint Basics 1.4 ROM. Very smooth and have about 45% ram available all the time.
they have the phone overclocked?!?!? where is this app, and what do i need to know to make it work!?
thanks!

I was almost forced to switch phones when I found the rom and now I am good to go for another year at least.
Also everything works even the mms which never worked from day one even on the Mighty rom this mms feature didnt work but this Maverick SPB Mobile Shell ROM works great out of the box no additional cabs needed except the provision cab.(( use this cab it works great for Verizon or Sprint dcd's carrier cab ))and no lockups.
Whom ever made this rom deserves a BIG Thank YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check this rom out you will love it removed all the htc sense from it and uses SPB mobile shell and it brings new life to the TP2 for Sprint or Verizon CDMA phones only

Hi, sorry for my bad english (first at all).
I'm trying to find a ROM plenty smooth, the Sprint Stock Like ROM it's very fast and stable, but i have trouble for connect my cell company (Comcel Colombia).
Now, Do i can find a rom without Sense or any eye candy?, i mean something completly STOCK LIKE. No Manilla, No Titanium, No HTC Sense, No SPB, just WinMo 6.5 with his base plain and clean Home.
Thanks and again, sorry for my english.
