How to zoom in PIE WM6.1? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

Hi, I have WM6.1 but my PIE doesn't have the zoom funtions i see in other roms.
how do i enable this?
Thanks

bump.
I search and I don't know where to find the settings for it.
All i see is text size.
thanks in advance

bump as well, as I'm looking for the same thing. It doesn't seem to exist in my ROMeOS on tilt, however I tried the AT&T Stock 6.1 rom for the Tilt (for like an hour) and I liked the zoom function.

Quite simple folks, tap and hold anywhere on the screen while in PIE, and then hit either zoom level and choose your preffered setting, or hit zoom out.

Nope, i don't have this option.

What? And you are using a 6.1 ROM? Well that doesnt make a whole lotta sense...

yea, if install the wm6.1 PIE cab it works. but it doesn't overwrite the old PIE. so i need to know how to remove the old one.
Thanks

There's no way to remove it unless you edit the ROM itself and replace wm6 pie with the wm6.1 pie files and then flash with the edited build. If "Boring ROM" doesn't have a kitchen, then it will be more difficult. Good
luck!

thanks, well the rom I'm using the in my sig, I think he has a kitchen, but every time i try to cook it i get an error. and even if i wanted to replace it in kitchen form. which oem files do i replace?
Thanks

Updated 7.9.04 318 TouchFlo Beta ROM Test v2.0

If you've used any of my roms, you know what I like to put in them.
Here is my second build that I got working using Whiterat's Touch components ingegrated into the base 318 ROM.
Please give it a try, and post what issues you find. The more testing now, the better the kitchen
We're also beta testing the new kitchen, which will get updated once we are sure it's relatively bug-free.

I only include the nb.nbf to keep it simple (for me anyway ) If you have another rom package, just replace the nb file with this one
Not bad! Definitely seems faster than the other Touchflo roms. Wi-Fi seems fine; bluetooth sync's ok to my pc. Calls seem fine.
Sometimes I have to double-tap the ok to exit a program; I don't remember doing that before. Not a huge deal, though.
Did you mean to leave the O2 connection settings integrated? No big deal; I deleted them (I'm on Cingular).
Is the cube integrated in this one? It doesn't launch on the softbutton.

O2? Hmmm... are those WAP settings? I must have missed them in the OEM_Lang_409 reg settings.

Flash the ROM and find out. If you don't want to do that, then visit some of Matt's other ROM threads and see if Live is something he's put into them. If he has, then Live might be in this one.
It doesn't matter - this is a beta test, just to see what does and does not work, so the final version will be bug free and the kitchen will also be bug free.
i flashed it already. and i was checking it out and did not notice any windows live. also there is two calculators.

True, and true. I was thinking about extracting the OE calc and giving a choice, but haven't gotten that far yet.
Windows Live was just too big to fit it in with the touch files

If I remember, 7.4 is based on the 1413 base, and has a much easier transition to the touch software since it's a much newer build. 318 has quite a few differences that need ironed out
Do you have the ok issue on every screen? I only have a problem in Phone, but otherwise the alignment issue seems typical.
Anyone else see similar / different issues on this topic?
in most of the screens, it`s verry annoying to have to click ok many times.
and if i click right in the corner sometimes i activate todat plugins (like i`ve clicked in the middle of the screen) or even the right buttom key

navigate throught HTC home???

I am looking for a regisry tweak to navigate throught the HTC home using the scroll wheel. There is a ROM that has it but I am not using that one anymore.
same here... switch ROM?
I agree with you that using the scroll wheel you can navigate the whole HTC home with one hand. Certainly a matter of taste, but much nicer to me.
After swicthinc to Dutty 2, I noticed that on Dutty's ROMs this is not working,. It is working on Schap's and DCS, so I switched back to those. I suggested on Dutty's threads several times that it wa a problem, but was completely ignored....
let's find out how....
let's not give up....
It's called DPad Scroll Navigation. You can enable it using KaiserTweak on any ROM. Search for Kaisertweak, it's easy to find.
It's also enabled on my ROMs by default.
Hope this helps.
Not sure...
Hello Alex,
thanks for the tip, but I have Kaiser Tweak installed (version 10b5) and I find a D-Pad nav option for Pocket ie, nothing else.
I beleive the thread was about using the Track Wheel (not the D-Pad) for navigating HTC home. In DCS and Schap's I can use both at the same time. I am really not sure why any ROM cook would disable one of the options....
Dutty's ROM did disable the Track Wheel of HTC home (at least version 2 and 7, which I tested), and when I asked I was told that the D-Pad works.....

Alex,
thanks again but I currently have DCS 1.5 and track wheel IS working with HTC home. I was just echoing the thread author that some ROMs have this problem, including Dutty.
I am interested in this since I like this functionality in case I flash a ROM in the future that has trackwheel disabled over HTC home (I still cannot figure out why anybody would remove the option though...)
I am surprised however that you say that 'Pocket Ie-> D-Pad Scroll Navigation' in Kaiser Tweak would have an effect on Track wheel navigation over HTC home???
This is the only item where I can find mention of D-Pad in the lsit of Kaiser Tweak options.
Juju
still not completed....
I agree, Kaiser Tweak does not do the work.... there must be a registry key to be changed to get this done..... let's hope somebody reveals it...
guys, any ideas on how to get this accomplished?....
I still have not got a solution to the issue.... can anybody help?
FYI, since this isn't about upgrading a ROM this question technically is in the wrong forum. Questions like this would be better suited in the general forum.
Just thought you should know for future reference.
It is related to which version of HTC home you are using. The v2_1_1005722 lets you use the jog dial and the one in most roms including Dutty's is version v2.0.814.722 which does not let you use the jog dial. So I use the light rom and install the HTC version I like and use jog dial.
Hope this helps.

What ROM has this... I tested it and liked it, but lost it

Hello all,
Someone's 6.5 ROM has the ability to scroll by finger movement rather then the 5 way or simply tapping.
Meaning when you hit the start menu you can then scroll up or down by simply sliding your finger up or down.
I do not believe all the 6.5 ROMs do this.
Whos do?

Interesting! I never had a problem with Josh's ROM's with the US standard AM/PM. I have one hermes and two Kaisers all using different ROM's from Josh. They all show the AM/PM. I do recall in Josh's hermes thread on how to change this. What version of Josh's Kaiser Rom did you try?

Anryl's ROM defaults to the 24-hour time format, but it always works for me when I switch it from 'HH:mm:ss' to 'h:mm:ss tt'.
Not sure if you've done it, but I always flash a stock ROM first, hard reset at the 'tap screen to set up Windows' screen, then flash the cooked ROM and hard reset again at the same 'tap to set up Windows' screen.

[FIX] mindfrost82's WM6.5 Lockscreen Delay Fix v1.1 (VGA & QVGA) 06/19/09

mindfrost82's WM6.5 Lockscreen Delay Fix
A special thanks to NRGZ28 (for unknowingly finding the fix)
A special thanks to RRE for the other cab fixes
Of course a special thanks to Da_G for bringing us WM6.5
For those of you using WM6.5, you've probably noticed the delay you get after waking up your device before you can use the slider to unlock it. The delay I had was when you lock the device, then the device goes into standby. Then you hit the power button to wake it up, there was a delay of 2-3+ seconds before you could do anything with the slider.
NRGZ28 modified the lockscreen CPR files to change the layout, which actually got rid of the delay.
I've taken his CPR file and modified it (fixed a few fonts, etc) and combined it with the stock CPR file.
Unzip the CPR file and drop it into your /Windows directory. You will need TotalCommander or Resco File Explorer since the originals are in the ROM. Or use the cab files instead.
If you have a problem with the notifications disappearing, install the 21198 Lockscreen cab from here.
If your ROM is missing some of the graphics, try the RRE graphics cab file from RRE's ROM thread here.
Thanks to Peaster111 for making the cab files. It includes the CPR fix, the 21198 lockscreen, the graphics, and sets the LockLevel reg key to 0.

Great, so appreciated !
Great stuff MindFrost! ive been searching around for this..
not strictly related to this thread, but still lockscreen related,
Do you know of any fix to use the lockscreen with the New TF3d2 AutoLoader
it seems they don't work together..not for me anyway!
Just wanted to say worked great, delay is gone or so small its not really noticable
Good job, and thanks again!
FINALLY!!!
Thanks for the delay fix mindfrost. Great work!
Delay is gone! Works perfectly! Thank you. Now I have to get use to NOT waiting until I see the icons blink to slide to open
If someone wants to make a cab and post it, I'll attach it in the first post.
I only want my phone to lock itself if I put it into sleep. How do I get only the enter pin screen to appear after press the power button to wake it. I dont need to slide to unlock, because thats not necessary. Is this possible?
Thank You
Huge help here bro, can't thank you enough! I would love to have this working in landscape mode as well if you have time. Use it in landscape a lot when texting and waking up device by sliding out the keyboard while locked. Is there anyway to also make a program kind of like s2u2c that will customize where the time and date is located and/or the slide to unlock on the lock screen? That would be cool. Kind of like NRG's layout where the slide is on the bottom with the time and date and can only slide one direction. Just my preference i guess, either way this is a huge help. Thank you!

I will try working on landscape in the next few days and see what I come up with. I'm not sure this will work in landscape or not, but its worth a shot.
Unfortunately, you can't really move stuff around the screen without breaking it again. I took NRGZ's layout and messed with it for 2+ days trying to get the slider back to the top of the screen and it would break it everytime I did.
I can make another version that puts the slider to the left so that you can only slide it to the right if you want. That's an easy enough change.
Hey mindfrost82...
Take a couple of days off and you go an solve the delay issue. ...jk I'm glad to hear NRGZ28 helped out (even if it was unknowingly...LOL). Nice effort all around.
Having the landscape fixed would be nice.
I'd be glad to cab all this up.
Are you still setting the HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\Locklevel to 0?
That still seems to help a bit on my end. I can add that to the new merged cab.
Wow , fantastic. Works like a charm. I was getting tired of putting in a pin to get to my phone.

The hardest part is just spacing everything since its in pixels.
I'm gonna work on the landscape version for this one tomorrow and if I have time I'll take a look at the QVGA one in your ROM.
I've only tried a couple 6.5 ROMs on my Tilt, but so far I'm sticking with your's. I just use it as a backup...mostly while I'm flashing ROMs to my Fuze so I don't miss any calls lol. I can't find my other microSD card I had for my Tilt, so I can't install anything

[Q] How do I modify start menu and buttons??

Hello!
I'm a HD2 user (Manila 2.5.2018, ROM 3.14.412.2). I've tried some cooked roms and I didn't find one that feels the way I like, that is pretty close to stock roms. The other problem is that I've experienced a lot of problems with cooked roms. I don't know if is because of my carrier or what, but with any cooked rom I have to reboot at least 3 times a day. So finally I decided to upgrade my HTC to a stock rom.
But testing here and there, I've found something in cooked roms that is terrific!
Start menu is in the bottom and the two buttons (in my phone are "Phone" and "Menu") where buttons and not just text. I've attached two images: One of my homescreen as it is and the other with the wished structure.
Is there an application that does this?
Thanks in advance!
PS. Forgive my english, please!!
StartMenu in the bottom means your SYS is WM6.5.X. Top ones are just WM6.5.
Phone button is part of Sense. They can be changed by the following reg keys. Menu, you cant do anything with it. It is hard-coded in Sense.
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila]
"HomeLSKPath"="windows\\cprog.exe"
"HomeLSKText"="Phone"
if you enjoy the stock feel, you should try Dutty's ROM or Artemis. they come with the big buttons in the bottom

I'll try this. Thanks a lot!!!
Your stock ROM is indeed Windows Mobile 6.5 with start menu at top left in taskbar. Cooked ROMs are mostly Windows Mobile 6.5.3 or 6.5.5 which now have the Start Menu button bottom left in the Softkey bar, so you can't achieve exactly what you are looking for just with registry edits (although you can reassign the two big softkeys to pretty much anything. If you want the Start Menu access in the middle of the bottom bar as you show then I'd recommend installing Cookies Home Tab 2.0 and enabling CHT Softkeys as this allows you to achieve exactly what you're after. You can have up to five custom softkeys doing pretty much anything you want, plus you can really easily skin them to get exactly the look you want. CHT 2.0 will install and work fine on a stock ROM, plus it gives you as much (or as little) customisation as you want in your home screen(s).
