Original battery cover? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Accessories

I have broken the cover of the battery. where I can buy?
HTC Italy don't have
thank's

i the moment i think there is just no back cover at it's own avaiable.
i'm looking for it, too, friend of mine needs one.
only option would be to sent it to repair and pay for a new cover there i think?

The only way of getting a replacement back cover would be to purchase an extended life battery as you get a cover with them. (altho this will slightly increase the size of your device)
I cant see it being very long before they will release a replacement cover, i can only suggest checking out eBay as thats usually where things like that appear first.

look there, they say there's a back cover avaiable:

I've got an order in for a new battery cover at Expansys. (It really scuffs up more easily than I'd expected, and a corner got damaged the first time I opened it.)
Currently my order tracker says it's estimated in 33 days...

i emailed cnn.cn and they told me they'll have oem replacement parts of the HTC within 2 weeks hopefully ~ i need a new battery cover and probably new touchpads too ~ too much scuff marks on it :S

Touch Diamond Replacement Housing!! Help!!!!

I just dropped my diamond by accident while running to my car to avoid the rain =="....
It was in a PDA case, but it still somehow popped out of the case and got scratched up...
So I am in DIRE NEED OF A REPLACEMENT HOUSING!!!
lucky for me, the only damaged parts were the metal rim around the front side of the phone and the battery cover...
I am thinking of just getting an extended battery so i can get a new battery cover with it as well.
But I can't find the Replacement part for the rim around the front of the phone...
I took a lot at the phone and it seems easy enough to replace the rim....but i need to find the part first....
Please guys, any help will be very much appreciated....
Really need this housing replacement...can't stand looking at my scratched up diamond =(
phones still in its early stages so gonna be hard to get hold of housing so quick. Usually best place is here
http://cnn.cn/shop/touch-diamond-c-277_533.html
but they only have screen and back plate at the moment
just be patient a little bit longer.
does that shop deliver quickly??
would it be possible to ask for oem parts directly from htc...?
i talked it over with htc canada today and it may cost upwards 100 CDN to fix the cosmetic damage =(
no insurance?
uh no...i've never insured a phone before....
never thought it would the belt clip would break and let the phone fall and get scratched =="
argh...
any ideas on what to do...
should just take out the rim and touch it up myself ^^"....
oh i've got an idea =D!!!!
I can buy a dummy phone and replace it directly that way...
right.....?

In a very rare occasion you can use dummy phones.
Mostly the inside is completely different, no way of using those dummies for housing parts.
Haven't seen a dummy Diamond yet, so I can't tell if it is usable, but mostly HTC dummies aren't usable.

i'm just lokoing to replace the outer rim on the front side of the phone and the battery cover....?
so maybe its possible...
ill drop by a local mall and see if its possible i guess....
loads of dummy diamond phones on ebay the last time i check it out.
i wouldn't say loads...
i saw a total of 4 =P lol
average 20-30 dollars CDN
which is fine for me if i can use it as housing and battery cover replacement
anyways heading out to check the dummy model =)
it doesn't work =(
its one giant piece, so i can't really take it apart to replace the piece i want...
How hard is it to take apart the diamond?
The invisible shield really stuffed up my screen. I can see parts flaked off the screen (looks like a thin protection layer) which is believe is the touch sensor itself. It has not affected the use of the phone but looks ugly.
EDIT: Home from work and did a search and found this: http://www.pdacenter.ru/razborka/razbor-htc-touch-diamond/
Looks like a lot of work to get to the digitizer.
wow amazing find...was looking for a page like this...
aw man...the housing is one whole piece from what i can tell from the last picture...guess a DIY housing replacement is not really gonna be easy....
i'm gonna ask HTC for an estimate....
just minor cosmetic damage on mine on the corners so nothing too huge but it pains me to see it every time =(
at least this seems a bit easier than fixing the iphone....its so much work to put in a new digitizer cause of the way the housing is built
Looking for the Telus Black rear cover
If anyone finds a place that is selling the black rear battery cover for the CDMA version of the phone i would be interested.
anyone have any lucking finding a replacement housing?
I can provide the replacement housing
It cost about 36 euro
Like this??

Mugen Power 2000mAh for Diamond with (lots) of pictures

Hello all,
today I finally received my 2000mAh battery from Mugen Power, bought for 59.44 € (including delivery and taxes).
The site works quite well but I had a problem when selecting the payment options, which the staff from Mugen quickly fixed.
The battery took exactly 1 week to arrive (I am in Italy).
I will update the post later with info about how long the battery lasts and if Mugen will replace the cover (which has a defect).
First impressions:
the packaging is quite good and the battery is well protected.
ALSO I did not have to use a katana to cut open the plastic box, which is good!
At first look the battery does look new, however the writings in the centre are sort of faded... I just hope this is not a used one.
The replacement cover has the same diamond "cut" of the original but is not made from shiny plastic but from a "matte" one. It probably looks like the same plastic used for the original HTC 1320mAh battery, but I am not sure since I don't have it.
On the whole, I like a lot how it looks and... Look ma'! No fingerprints!!!
First problem with the cover: the camera hole is, well, just that, a hole!
And I mean that it doesn't have a small cover lens like the original... uhmm...
Luckily the real camera lens is quite deep inside the cover, so it is not so easy to reach it with the fingers but still, a small lens would have been nice for protection against dust!
Second problem: the cover fits perfectly EXCEPT for the lower right corner (the one opposite the stylus)... You will see in the pictures what I mean.
I will write to Mugen later asking them if it is possible to have the cover replaced and let you know the answer.
In use: the telephone works fine and properly "recognise" the battery.
I tested GPS almost immediately. WORKS, and quite well too.
TomTom 7 took about 10 second to get a fix and I used it to track my itinerary from work back home and it never lost signal.
Ok, now for the pictures, I am lucky that today I have with me another Diamond (a colleague asked me to upgrade the firmware for her) for the comparison, so you can see exactly how much bigger it gets.
I also weighted both of them and compared the "big" Diamond with my old Nokia N73.
As you will see, it doesn't really get that much bigger and heavier. It is still a couple of mm thinner that the N73!
There are also a couple of pics showing the missing lens from the cover.
On the whole I feel that if Mugen replaces my cover (they DID) it was money well spent!
---------------- UPDATE 1---------------------------------------------
Mugen has quickly replied to my email saying that they are already dispatching a new cover!
They also asked if I could send them some pictures of the problem so that they can check whether this is a production defect that they can resolve in the future!
Well, I must say that I think their support is GREAT!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------- UPDATE 2---------------------------------------------
First day of use:
I unplugged the phone this morning at 8 and now at midnight I miss only the first two bar in the battery indicator (I will install something that indicates percentage tomorrow).
So it ha been on for 16 hours and I sent 4 or 5 SMS, made 20 minutes of phone call, surfed the internet for 15 minutes and used GPS for 2 or three minutes. No Wi-Fi on today.
Also, the phone is constantly set in 3G (and reception is bad here so it should consume more).
This is the first full charge of the battery.
So far I am pleased... Let's see how it goes on...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------- UPDATE 3---------------------------------------------
The battery lasted until Saturday at around 14:00.
I did use a bit of wi-fi during the last couple of days (about 1 hour and a half), very little gps, few SMS and about 45 minutes of phone calls.
I never turned off the phone (including during the night), so it means that the phone lasted for 4 full days and a half before needing a recharge.
Very satisfied!!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------- UPDATE 4---------------------------------------------
Yesterday I received the new cover Mugen sent me.
It fits MUCH better than the old one. There is still a tiny (almost unnoticeable) space left in the same spot as before but it is practically invisible.
Still no cover lens but in the end I am very happy with the new cover.
How long has it been since I received the battery? 9 days? I am on the second charge since then!!!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The rest of the pictures...
Please let us know how many days you get from your battery (of course, not today, you just received it ). I have a 2000mAh battery (not Mugen, some Hong Kong no-name) which lasts me about 4-5 days with only phone usage and email checking once an hour during the day. And I never turn the phone off at night. I am also curious how thick this battery is (could you measure with a ruler and let us know how many mm?) I have the O2 UK Diamond, which they called Ignito, the back cover is flat and not interchangeable with the Diamond cover, so it was a bit more difficult to find an extended battery with the right cover. And my cover leaves a little gap too, just like yours, I guess they all have a problem here, apart from the original 1340mAh ones.
The cover doesn't look bad (the matte surface makes it worth the money) and hopefully the new one you will recieve from MUGEN will seal all corners properly.
I think you can solve the "just a hole in the cover" problem by adding your own cover lens. Some ultra thin transparent plastic sheet glued from behind the cover might just work.
Cheers m8!
great review, thanks!
although the problem with dust is real, having no lens on that new cover may just improve a quality of your pictures, from what website you've made order?

G2X battery door

My battery cover is lose at the top right corner near the volume buttons and the other side feels nice and snug. It's bothering me when I hold the phone I can squeeze it and its moving a little and also makes a little creaking noise. Is anyone else cover like this?
If everyones is nice and snug should I call tmobile or lg and request a replacement door? I ordered my phone on the 19th. Thanks in advance for the replies.
Mine is tight all the way around. Was yours always like that? I would exchange only the battery cover if you aren't experiencing any other problems.
I don't remember it always been like this but has been getting worse these past couple days. I think its warping I can see a gap.
I ordered my phone through the retentions dept do you think I can swap the door out in the retail stores? Or will T-Mobile ship me a new door? I'm not sure how this would work out.
Well, just call and ask, I'd say. I don't think T-Mobile stocks replacement parts so you might need to order a new phone and just swap the battery door out when it comes. Keep in mind that in the past, any phones that I have ordered replacements for did NOT come with a battery door! Not sure if the G2x is the same in that regard, but make sure you mention that.
Mine was loose around the bottom of the "with google" strip and was creaking every time I applied pressure right there. My solution: a piece of kleenex slightly larger then the battery. Just put it on top of the battery and it takes care of the extra space in there that causes the creaking without any damage to the phone
I'm thinking about ordering a couple for spares.....anyone interested in going in on it for one at cost let me know. The place above is the only place I've seen them. And I've been looking pretty hard.
Edit...Oops, I didn't see that link in this post. It was in another post about the back door. I'll find the link and post it here.
http://www.globaldirectparts.com/LG-Star-P990-Optimus-2X-Battery-Door-p/lg970940.htm
I like the idea of having a spare because
A) they seem extra flimsy and I am a spare battery sort of guy. Afraid I'm gonna eventually break it replacing batteries three times a day.
B) I want to get some skinit covers and leave them on permanently without ruining a cover in case I need to do a return.
I've signed up for email notification for when the backorder comes in.If anyone wants to combine an order w/ me to get the minimum of five, PM me. Like I say, I need two.
Edit: To clarify. I'm gonna order some of these one way or another. I can absorb 50 or 60 bucks to order some. If you want one speak now. When I get the email saying they're in from backorder. I'll order 5 or 6. When I get them I'll let you know. You paypal me whatever it cost in advance, I'll stick it in an envelope with a 44 cent stamp and mail it to you. I don't want any monies in advance now. If you don't come through, I'm confident I'll sell yours to someone here. But short of seeing cash up front, I'm not ordering more than 5 or six, maybe 7. I have no idea when or if this company will get these or not. But there is a minimum order of 5. I'm not doing anyone any big favors here....you pay what it costs includ/ the stamp. If you want to see my ebay feedback before you send me the ten bucks I'll tell you my user name (then). I simply want a couple of spare covers for my phone.
I'd like to have an extra battery door.
i want to buy one..waitin for it to be stock
Finally went to a T-Mobile store to show them my lose battery door cover. Associate pulled out his personal G2x and said wow mine is on there tight that would piss me off too. He said he would swap out a cover from a returned phone. He went to see if there was any returned phones but I knew there would be a lot from all the problems everyone is experiencing. Now I got a tight fitting cover!
i would just go to tmo store, ask if they have any returned g2x in the back, and if they can just swap a battery door for you. if they give you a hard time, just say hey, you are sending it back anyways and obviously the door is not cosmetically damaged (assuming your door looks like new) and it should not warrant me exchanging the phone for a whole new kit and waste tmos money.
edit, sorry i didnt see the post above mine lol.

I did the same thing. My wife dropped hers while jogging and the tmo Rep handed me a new one. Building relationships and not being a **** goes a long way in retail. She cracked the lens cover. Love tmo.
I recently had a problem where the soft finish of my backplate was peeling, i spoke to and LG rep via IM. and she was more then happy to send me a replacement free of charge, very much pleased and impressed.
I also spoke to a rep via IM and he is sending me a free one time replacement.

battery cover

i seem to have misplaced my battery door/cover. does anyone know where i can find a replacement? ive searched on motorolas website and it doesnt list it. ive been to best buy and sprint store (they usually have random parts and stuff but they dont even have the triumph there). any help is greatly appreciated
Well, shoot. A quick check of e-bay turned up nothing. With all the supposed returned Triumph units, I would try calling Virgin Mobile directly and ask them to ship you one. They may not even charge you. Good luck.
Bump. I'm using a Tetrax Fixway mount for my car (and like it very much), and would like to have a spare battery cover for regular use. The Fixway requires a small button glued to the battery cover, and while I barely notice it, I'd just like a spare cover.

Why don't you simply buy phone cover and glue magnetic button to the cover and not to the phone itself? Knowing Tetrax (my friend has one), your phone will drop few times and the cover would be a good investment
Just call VM customer service and them the tabs broke, send you a new one no problem.

Dropped my phone on concrete :(

And now the pristine MAO case has some horrendous chips and scratches, and I'm really pissed off.
I can't seem to find a reliable or legit looking seller on eBay that will sell a genuine MAO case, the new bevelled USB version. I'm based in the UK, but wouldn't mind buying from an international seller that ships to the UK also. Does anyone know of any good eBay sellers selling genuine HTC parts?
Failing that, does anyone know roughly how much it would cost if I were to send it back to HTC to replace it? I asked HTC support but they don't sell spare parts and can't give a quote unless I send the phone first. Any estimate would be great.
Thanks.

I'd say you're pretty lucky the screen is intact. Get some black nail polish and fill in the chips, then put one of the super thin cases/skins on it.

The chips are pretty bad. Nail polish is gonna look hideous. Plus the whole point of this phone was to not put it in a case. I'm usually very careful with dropping a phone, this is the first time it's ever happened in my life.
I think I'm just gonna buy a housing off eBay and replace it. And if the housing turns out to be crap (even though they assure it is genuine) then next step would be to insure it and then make a claim.
Hi,
I got a MAO back cover from here: http://www.parts4repair.com/htc-one-s-back-cover/
I asked by e-mail and they say it's an original HTC repair part. I received and replaced the cover and it is indeed indistinguishable from the original. I don't know how it will hold out over time, though.
Before ordering the back cover, I asked an authorized HTC repair service in Switzerland about the repair cost; they said 59 CHF for the cover + labor costs. Like in your case, they cannot estimate labor costs without seeing the phone.
I replaced the back cover myself. It is not that difficult, but you lose warranty (there is a VOID sticker you need to puncture). Be careful that the MAO back cover is structurally different from the gray one: under the lower plastic "flap", there is another black plastic piece that needs to be removed before you can pull the phone from the back cover (first unscrew the two black cross-type screws, then pull out the plastic piece).
Good luck!

Thanks, I knew the difference between the black and gray ones and since mine is black I just want to fix the fact that it's chipped. I'm comfortable with replacing it myself so I might just get it from the website you linked. I just have one question though, can you notice on the replacement cover you ordered whether it has the "new style" beveled USB port? I only want to bother replacing it if it has that USB bevel which indicates it won't have the chipping issue. Other than that, how long have you had it and have you noticed any chipping?
I'd probably fix it myself, it will save money and also won't have to be without a phone.

I only used it for ~1 week.
Unfortunately, I didn't know about the bevel and did not check. I don't have the phone anymore (it was the S3 version, I sold it and got an S4). If your eyes are better than mine, try looking at these photos:

I would say that it does not have the bevel, but the quality is not that good. I don't have the full resolution photos either.

Ahhh yea those pics are crap. Thanks for your help anyway. I'll think it over and see what I should do.
Just thought I'd let people know. I ordered a case from no.1-tech on ebay (Hong Kong based). Only 20 GBP (including postage) and 12 calendar days later, the case arrived. And at the expense of voiding my warranty, I went ahead to swap the case myself at home. It was a lot easier than expected to do.
So far so good. Seems like a genuine part, but best of all, and much to my surprise, it is the newer beveled USB design as well. Either that or a really incredible fake. Part number matched exactly on the case I removed and it had a date stamp also.
All in all, my phone is now brand new again, with the exception of a small chip that I got on the actual plastic portion around the screen. Not much I can do about that short of getting a whole new digitizer which unfortunately only comes bundled with a screen too. Can't justify 100 GBP to fix a tiny chip on the plastic lol.

Nice work. Does the disassembly require pry tools (which I suck at) or is it all just screws?

For just the case you can get by without pry tools. You need a T5 torx and a small phillips screwdriver. Once you have the 4 screws removed, apply some pressure on the inner phone assembly that is exposed at the bottom, you basicaly want to push it outwards towards the face of the phone. Obviously be careful with the pushing. It should easily give way as I found it isn't really glued into the housing. You might need a credit card or something to help you ease it out once you have made room with the pushing. I hate pry tools too and had no problem doing it this way. The one thing to be careful about is the plastic assembly at the bottom. Take a good look at how it fits in, so you don't mess it up when putting it back together.
By the way, you can buy HTC void stickers too:

If I ever do need to send it back to HTC under warranty I'm sure those would do the trick

I'm really wondering about this also how to take off the bottom cover.. also smurf I have a question for you. It seems like the top contains the WiFi prong. Are you sure the one for cellular signal is on the bottom?

It almost always is for regulatory reasons (less radiation in the dummy head) even though it makes for less signal when "you're holding it wrong". There's an anandtech review showing the antenna placement as well.

Well for me I slowly pried the gap at the bottom edge. It's got adhesive on the inside sticking it onto that plastic assembly I mentioned earlier, but just keep prying it slowly so the adhesive doesn't get all messed up. It should flip open like a door with the hinges being where the beats logo is, eventually it'll open right out then just pop it out.
Hi guys,
I got similar story and want to replace my housing.
I have the EU S4 black/red model. I think its one of those with the chipping issue, but not much damage, until the drop which cut the top corner to straight 45 degree white line and scratches my finger every time I use it in landscape mode.
Anyway wanted to ask, since you already tried/used it for some time.
Is the eBay one genuine or just a good fake?
Or is the one from parts4repair a better choice?
Also after removing the bottom plastic cover, as I understand it has glue to it to keep it in place. Do I need to replace that on the reassembly or just heating it back and pressing will work with the old one? Or it has something else to keep it in place other than the glue?
