Hi,
The default behavior of PIE (both WM5 as WM6) is that when you push the direction keys up/down it scrolls one page lenght up/down.
I know one of the tweak tools (I think it's tweak2k) will allow you to change this so that the direction keys will make the 'cursor' on the page jump up/down from link to link instead of scrolling a whole page lenght.
Is ther any tool available that just allows you to set this or who can tell what place in the registry does this setting?
Thanks in advance
Mauce
look at kaisertweak freeware app.
That was a quickreply ,thanks.
Stupid as I am, I already had kaisertweak but never noticed this option.
Thanks again.

Hi
Need a few smart folks!
Did a little tweakin followed by a reset on my Tytn and despite all attempts since then I canNOT get my IE cursor to leave the url box and act on page items!......the d-pad/cursur will scroll the page but not move onto the page.
Any suggestions to fix this'd be greatly appreciated....I am online on the move all day and this is a pain!
Any windows files associated with IE I can restore or whatever?
Did you by any chance mess with your registry?
There is a key that controls how D-PAD behaves in PIE (Pocket IE):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Navigation
4-Way Nav (DWORD) 1
Make sure this value is 1 not 0 otherwise the D-PAD will scroll the page but not go to links or controls on it.
hi guys,
Hope some one can tell me , how to create shorcuts like "Ok" and "StartMenu" on the keyboard.I think this feature would be very useful ,,, I am sure some body might be thinking about this already ?
And one more thing I heard is the American model touch pro At& T model has "ok" and startmenu keys on the keyboard, so if upgrade the uk model htc touch pro rom with AT & T rom , then will I be able to use the keyboard shortcuts ?
Expecting some answers from our pro colleagues....

For me can be better to unbind the home/back buttons from their default functionalities and handle them with AEBPlus. So I can have 4 functions on each button without their preinstalled functionalities.
I am not sure you can unbound home. Anybody tried?

Yes Home will be really important so yuo have a better use of the phone with a single-hand. Hope someone will fix this topic!
any more suggestions here with regards to home and OK buttons on KEyboard ?
Thought I will bump this , so that some one can answer to this really!
I'm using PQzII to map Ctrl+Enter → OK. You can also setup keyboard shortcuts for Start, Today, Alt+Tab, etc.

This remap the keyboard AND buttons or only the keyboard?

Thank you for the tip , I will try this and then I will report back.
PQzII it's a wonderful app, works nicely!
Thanks!
nice app, i will try this out as well
I realize that configuring PQzII might not be very obvious, so here's some hints on how I've set it up for myself:
Run PQzII_Setup.exe to open the options.
Set CTRL as CTRL. I want to use my FN key as ALT, so enter the key code 0xEC for ALT since there is no actual choice for FN (more info below):
Now I can use FN+[key] mappings to simulate a regular PC.
FN+S → Start menu
FN+D → Desktop/Today screen
FN+Tab → Alt+Tab to switch programs
PQzII doesn't list all available keys (such as FN) but you can use PQz_CHECK to figure out the keycode and then manually enter it into PQzII if it isn't listed. For example, the SYM key is 0xE6. Just be sure to exit PQzII before you run PQz_CHECK:
http://www.nicque.com/PQz/PQz_CHECK.htm
Note: there's some inconsistency in how the TPro and PQzII handle sticky keys differently, so you might have to press some keys twice. Also, it goes without saying that you might get problems if you map shortcuts that already have functions, like FN+W → £.
Hope that helps
Edit--
After some testing, it might not be such a good idea to use the FN key for mapping because the Raphael uses it as a double-sticky key (ie: press FN once for one symbol, press FN twice for FN-lock). Since PQzII treats function keys as single-sticky keys, it gets pretty buggy.
Thank you & one more request
I have also tried this software and I must say , this is a must app for every Touch Pro Users , you can literally run anything with this software.
Only one more hurdle left for me with htc touch pro, when I am using any 3rd party RDP clients like citrix ica client, input is not taking from the keyboard, its only accepting it from virtual keyboard, there is one more thread already opened for this. Hope someone can crack this one fianl issue for touch pro.
Thanks to all the users who suggested this app.
Crosslinkage
Although the current result of my little research project is limited to being able to define a different keycode for the back button for _every window class_, perhaps with some more work it could lead to actually being able to remap the back button properly.
The home button can be (slightly) tweaked using post messages as well, but more work is required.

remap "back" button in IE?
It's not perfectly matching the topic but I don't want to start a new thread since it also somehow matches the topic:
Does anyone know if it's possible to map the "back" hardware-key in PocketIE as "history back"? In Pocket Outlook for example you can use the back-button to return from an email to the folder list but in PIE if you hit the back-button you just minimize PIE.
Problem with install.
When i install the app to my Touch pro, i can see the icon, but when i launch the app, all it does is show a small white square next to the "START" (top left)
I have uninstalled itn and re-installed but with no success.

tap on the small white square, select "Setup" in Kontext.
Or run the setup application located in Mein Gerät (my device) - Programme (programs) - PQzII - PQzII_Setup
How can i make PQzII launch 2nd today?
I can't seem to make it find the program.
EDIT:
Copy the .ink to somewhere within my documents (I used templates nice and out of the way)
Then add a shortcut to a program select view all files and find the shortcut.
Installed and couldn't get the app started. In fact it kinda hanged my Touch Pro.
So it would be better if it works with Fn , cuz we all use it more than any key ...
nobody suggest it to the programmer ?
Hello,
I'm using Raphael for months and still is there one disappointing thing. SmartTouch - the round thing below display which works like navigation cross and (that's worse) wheel used e.g. to zoom in Opera Mobile.
Important question: IS THERE ANY WAY TO DISABLE IT?
I won't it. I prefer to use this round thing only as arrows, not a wheel. Often I fast tap upper and then bottom arrow (to scroll in browser) Raphael thinks I will zoom. I think it will be easier to use Raphael when SmartTouch function will be disabled.
Try to delete all programs in list of Advanced Config. Start AdvCfg,then go to Menu-More settings-SmartTouch.
Nope, that's different thing. This only disable listing with SmartTouch but do not disable native ST function - like zooming in Outlook or in Opera Mobile.
Well, new information for me. I am using smartwheel just for scrolling. I don't use Opera and camera I use once per month,so I didn't noticed it. It can be much better,if touchwheel can work inside of Opera for scrolling...

Hello, and merry christmas...
to answer your question, I advise that you use FdcSoft TaskMgr, go to the "Services" tab, look for the "SmartTouch(SMT0" entry, tap & hold to get the menu, then select --> Stop, Set Manual, and finally Disable.
Voila...
Cheers
How-to looks great, but there is something wrong - no process you described in my device Nor something similar.
Hi dudes!
I got an idea as I miss the "enter" button from my diamond1 a bit
Now that we can scroll through the file explorer and so on (with zoombar) it would be great to have a "button" to click on the selection. As there was an app for the diamond1 that made the Multi-Touch-Buttons customizable (hold, click, tap, double tap) I thought it would be possible to use the zoombar as different buttons:
Button 1: Tap the zoombar on the left (magnifier(-) to 3rd line)
Button 2: Tap the zoombar in the middle (between 3rd and 7th line)
Button 3: Tap the zoombar on the right (7th line to magnifier(+))
Would something like that be possible? With customizable actions?
I would create it by myself but I'm not skilled in WindowsMobile-programming.
Thread in Development & Hacking section
I am think about that way too.. wish someone can make it possible.
thx
I found the opposite of what I'm searching for...
would this help anyone to build some buttons out of the zoombar?^^
Blackstone Button to zoombar
Hi!
Hopefully some of the "core" developers here at XDA will by themselves a D2! Then I think we will see all sort of cool stuff for the D2 as well. I like the idea of having the zoom bar emulating buttons, as long as this not interferes with the zoom functionality.
Regards,
PK
Thats an awesome idea. i hope a dev takes this up
We have our dev (when he get's his device^^)
intern link
Hopefully he receives it soon
I sussed this out today after messing with the registry.
This works for my UK Touch Cover but the device ID may be different for other regions and the Type Cover.
If it doesn't work, I've detailed at the end how to find out your device ID.
Search from the start menu for regedit.exe and run it
Firstly, backup your registry with File -> Export
Next, navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\HID\VEN_MSHW&DEV_0004&SUBSYS_MSAY0001&REV_100295A&Col02\4&365f1178&0&0001\Device Parameters"
On the right pane will be a key called "FlipFlopScroll", right-click it and select edit.
Change the value to 1
If you want to flip the horisontal scroll too, change the value "FlipFlopHScroll" to 1 as well.
Close everything and re-boot
Your touchpad will now scroll in the normal direction
If this doesn't work or if you want to confirm that the key you are editing above is correct for you:
Hit Search from the start menu and select the settings search type
Type "Device Manager" and hit enter
Look for Mice and Other Pointing Devices
Expand the tree and right mouse on "HID-Compliant Mouse"
Select "Properties" and then hit the "Details" tab.
In the drop-down box, select "Hardware IDs"
The first line will look like the middle part of the key above. Mine is: "VEN_MSHW&DEV_0004&SUBSYS_MSAY0001&REV_100295A&Col02" If yours is different, just look for your key in the same place and change the FlipFlopScroll values accordingly. Also, please post if yours is different so we can collect the right keys for all locations and cover types.
Happy scrolling!
Works perfectly on my Surface RT! Thank you so much, been looking for this for a while (ever since I first tried the Surface).
You don't actually have to reboot; just detach the cover and then re-attach it.
Here, have a .REG file to apply the settings with! In fact, have both the default and the flipped mode registry files.
Great stuff! Have you guys seen any other parameters that control scroll speed or acceleration? I'd really love to be able to control the speed of touch screen scrolling, but haven't found anything.
I don't know about touch screen scrolling, but you can easily adjust the trackpad scroll speed. Just open the Mouse control panel (Start -> "mouse" -> Settings, select the option called "Mouse"), go to the Wheel tab (which the trackpad pretends to be), and adjust the option. Since it's a smooth scroll, not discrete jumps, the concept of "lines" or "pages" of scroll don't mean anything, but the numbers still control how fast the scroll goes. I have my Surface set to 5 for the vertical scroll, which is a bit faster than normal.
There's actually an app solely for the Surface called Trackpad Settings that lets you reverse scroll direction too.

O RLY? Hmm... I may have to decompile that and see how they pulled it off. Store apps *shouldn't* have HKLM registry write permission.

Yeah, that's actually scary that Store apps can do this. Hope MS is not dropping the ball on security...again...
It's *probably* either a special driver API (you may have noticed the Printer "driver" apps that can do things like show ink levels) or some system API that can be accessed from within the AppContainer (as opposed to directly editing the registry). Either way, it's intriguing.

I have a US keyboard with the same DeviceID as yours, yet the registry change does not flip my scrolling, in fact it disables it until I go into the Mouse settings and play with the wheel controls; then it reverts to the default f***ed-up Surface trackpad scrolling
App fix.
