Hi I have an unlocked HTC Kaiser.
I recently began my flashing adventure by installing SPL-1.0 OliPof, and then flashed to NoThrills v4 Rom.
Now I want to try Diamond Rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400118) and it says I need Hard Spl 3.29.
OliPro's thread indicates that SPL=1.0 is incompatible with spl 3.29. So does that mean I can't flash to Diamond Rom? If I need to flash to this rom, what do I need to do? And what are the trade-offs of my decision?

High IPL/SPL Version wins! You cant downgrade!

You can downgrade if your device is a G3.
Check if your IPL/SPL end with x.xx.0000 (x.xx.0001 are G4)
Firstly, you need to CID unlock your device by flashing rom using
pdamobiz.com_downgrade_and_unlockcid rom.rar
(Please note that this rom is not usable and serve only to unlock CID)
You can then downgrade your SPL to 2.15 using
RUU_Prophet_2151327_21513121_021921_DOP_ASIA_WWE_S hip-NoVendorID.zip
I don't have the links to the above files. You need to search for them yourself. Hope this helps.

Why do you need to downgrade SPL 2.20? Is there any specific problem with that SPL? so far my SPL 2.20 is working well with WM6 and WM5. I wouldnt touch IPL and or upgrade SPL to 3.xx

What is IPL and SPL?
BIOS ... Bootloader ... Radioloader
if i have 3.08 can i do this?
no ... higher version number wins and the next ... spl 3.08 is charmer ... it means no prophet spl can flashed back!
can i flash it with another charmer?
uhm ... if you want brick/damage your device ... sure
this are a modded spl to run on prophet! highest prophet spl is version 2.58 and only for g4. nobody have uploaded in the moment!
hi all.. just a little question here.. im using dopod 818 pro G3. as far as i read in this forum.. all mention that ipl 2.20.0000. but why my ipl is only showing 2.20 and no 0000 at the end? is that common or something wrong with my dopod 818 pro?

I'm totally lost in this WM6 upgrade.
I've tried everything but i wont get my MDA Vario to flash with WM6.
My MDA Vario is unlocked (sim and CID) but i can't flash it because of my SPL 2.21????
This is what i have done:
installed button's 1.05 ROM
Download & installed lokiwiz - HTC Wizard Unlocker UPDATE Version 0.2b.
But stil my SPL is at 2.21.
Can someone please help me out here??

Both your IPL and your SPL must be 2.xx and higher. After you flashed to Buttons rom. did you reflash to a higher version after after you unlocked and cid unlocked your phone to make sure both IPL and SPL were 2.xx or higher?
I've followed the tutorial:
16. Watch the rebooting of your PDA, if BOTH IPL and SPL are 1.xx then great. Quite probably your IPL will be 1.xx and your SPL will be 2.xx. Rerun the button 1.05 ROM downgrade a second time and it will become 1.x on both IPL and SPL. You don't need to redo the unlocking.
17. My suggestion, take for what it's worth, is to download and install the T-Mobile 2.26 ROM
This will give you a strong 2.26 IPL and SPL to work with.
My IPL was 1.XX after the 1.05 downgrade, but my SPL was still 2.21 even after the rerun.
I have tried to instal T-Mobile 2.26 rom, but it gave an error.
check if you have G3 or G4 unit
I have a 3G device.

I think that you haven't unlocked the phone properly. Read Dr. P's tutorial about unlocking G3 phones.

if your ipl is 1.05 and your spl is still 2.21...then you need to reflash again so that both ipl and spl are 1.05 before you can proceed. ipl and spl should never be different.
WHen you downgrade to the Button rom, in most cases the IPL will change, but the SPL will not. You then have to downgrade again to get the SPL to get to 1.xx . There have been some cases reported where it takes reflahsing the button rom many times (like 8 times or somesuch) before the SPL will finally come down, but you have to complete this step or you will not be CID Unlocked.
Make sure you have your SD card out when you are flashing as this can cause problems.
Good luck, and sorry, but for those that have run into the stuck SPL there hasn't been a real solution other than keep flashing the button rom until it drops down to 1.xx. After that then the CID unlock will be complete and you can then flash the T-Mobile 2.26 rom (or whatever other 2.xx rom you want).

The Dr. P tutorial specifically says this (just not in those words). It tells you (after the last lokiwiz) to watch your screen and that you most likely will still have an SPL of 2.xx and will need to reflash (most people just don't read this and try to move on). The part of about having to reflash numerous times is new though. I've only heard of it a few times, but if you look at the posts from a month or so agao in the Dr P thread on unlocking you'll see where a few people ran into it and it took numerous flashes to finally get SPL to go to 1.xx.
before wm6 roms, every time there was a new rom for wm5 (molski or faria) you'd always get people in the thread mentioning that their ipl and spl are different. in those threads, the advice has always been to reflash a few extra times too. (I personally haven't had any problems with this...but i think i started my unlocking on a 1.8 us t-mobile rom with xelencin's rom...which had an unlocker built into the rom update package).
anyway, the phone's not bricked or anything, so you just have to keep flashing to get it working...

I've re-flashed 3 times but if i understand correct, than i have to retry flashing until SPL and IPL are the same?

yes. ipl and spl should both drop to 1.05. at that point you can go through the unlock and flash back up.

i am having problems flashing some OS, and i cant even touch IPL SPL and Radio...im pretty sure i unlocked...but it might have failed...note that i have been able to do all of these things before...any assistance is appreciated

got the IPL and SPL to update just taking the .nbk and plugging it into different old OS's...tried radio in same place i pluged IPL SPL and no luck...any suggestions?...
Look at the unlocking post in Wizard Upgrading subforum, download the Button's 1.05 ROM to have IPL and SPL downgraded to 1.05, then you can unlock and flash other ROM.
However, since you are now at 3.08 IPL, it may not be easy to have SPL downgraded. Don't try to unlock if IPL is 1.01 and SPL is 3.08. Instead try to flash again until SPL downgraded
the thing is ive been able 2 flash any rom i choosed b4...and i have went threw the unlocking process before...so its not that...

In my my tri-color screen I have:
KAIS1*0 MFG
Spl-1.0. OliPof
CPLD-8
My radio is R 1.27.12.11
I used Olipof Hard Spl from my understanding,but I want to flash a new rom preferably Dutty v4. What I wanted to know is do I use a new Hard Spl since the rom is current and if so do I have to go through the same process? Also how do I actually flash the rom?
Again I know noob questions I apologize and would really appreciate your help and patience.

if you want to update your hardspl to one of the 3.** hardspls released by jockyw, you can. These hardspl's were released to get rid of the screen freezes reported by everybody using wm6.1 on the old hardspl's. If you have done hardspl flash before than use the same procedure to flash one of the newer hardspls.
Check dutty's thread for what hardspl he recommends. Most commonly advised are 3.29 and 3.28; i had 3.56 and never had any problems with any of the roms.
To flash the rom you have to make sure your device is connected to pc via activesync. Than basically you have to uncompress the rom rar that you downloaded from here. In your folder you will have a ruu_signed.nbh and a kaisercustomruu.exe. You start the flash process by clicking (or double clicking) on the kaisercustomruu.exe. MAKE SURE YOU PHONE IS CONNECTED TO PC when starting this process and battery life is atleast 50%.
Oh and you should always read the wiki to gain more insight related to your device as your question is asked quite often and before posting you SHOULD HAVE checked this thread:

I have a unlocked kaiser 130 and i want to change the language but get the error of vendor id. I think that have to run the hard SPL to install new rom, i have spl 1.56.
Already try SPL 1.13, 1.93 and 1.56 but always sutck in 0%.
The phones are the same or the spl is diferrent?

install HardSPL, DaveShaw (.hard) 3.34 Hard SPL nostuckinSPL Force USB was suggested for WM6.5, but you can choose a different one as you like.
Have you run CIDunlocker?
My Kaiser is Kais130 as well

If you have old WM6, get an official upgrade to 6.1 which will move your SPL to 3.x. Then run JumpSPL on your phone and then try flashing HardSPL 3.34 by DaveShaw (remember to disconnect battery before booting and running JumpSPL! Yea, it is MUST, not OPTION!!) and it is done.
Also, all of this you can find in official HardSPL thread. Don't be lazy to search!
Just follow the flashing guide by mskip, any problems, please post in that thread.
