Do any browsers have YouTube support like SkyFire? - General Topics

I'm on the list for the Beta2 but I can't wait until summer.
Are there any browers that support YouTube in a similar manner as SkyFire?

If you are waiting on skyfire for Youtube you will disappointed.. Get coreplayer its much better for that.

My 2 choice for you tube : ( Not browsers )

You have to download the FLV though don't you? I want something that streams.
Also, I want it to be able to play embedded video.
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/W5CdqV0WDac&hl=en&rel=0"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/W5CdqV0WDac&hl=en&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Franly, I don't understand why some people don't bother reading my past articles or, at least, use the search engine. I've answered these questions in the YouTube Bible at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=387986

3. My name isn't Franly.

1, The best method for quick research is searching for my posts using a keyword like YouTube; then, you'll find the related posts, Bibles etc. very fast
2, yup, it's answered is the Bible too
3, Sorry, I've misspelled "frankly"

No embedded operation (yet). However, it works with the plug-in, should your want to prefer it to the old TCPMP

TCMP Alternative

Hi;
I was looking for a good media player for my HTC Trinity WM5 based Pocket PC. Someone advised TCMP which I downloaded and installed, it plays one of the files but the whole screen becomes very distorted and is in the most unwatchable.
The file is an mpeg1 file.
I just did a search on Google and it says its compatible with MP3, WMA, WAV, AC-3, ASF, AMR, Ogg Vorbis, DivX, XviD, MPEG1, MPEG4-SP, WMV, AVI.
Its should play fine but it is very tempermental TCMP is also discontinued.
I also have an mpg2 file that i`d like to play, any ideas on an alternative.
Ta
coreplayer is the comercial followup to the discontinued TCMP
As far as i know the TCPMP is also available as freeware ... it changed the name to Beta Player: http://betaplayer.com/
But, there arent any news about a release of this player Still waiting for a long long time ...
first it was named betaplayer then they changed it to TCMP
then they made a commercial version called coreplayer
no new development have been don to the old one since that i know of
and if they changed the name back to the original one that too is news to me
I've fixed my problem, I did another search in these forums and found a guide on installing TCPMP there is a second .cab which I had not seen before, the player now works flawlessly.
Only problem is installing TCPMP this time knocked out thd Bassfix that I had run, so now the sound is tinny again.
I'll run the Bassfix again and see how it goes.

Isn't i easier to shell out the $20 for the commercial CorePlayer than waiting? These devs surely deserve the financial support (too).

That would be easy to decide if there was a trial version of CorePlayer.

Actually there is a trial version
I don´t remember where on this big and great site I found it...
The only complaint I don't like about Core Player is: it does not support sub titles. So I still have TCPMP installed so I can watch movies with srt subtitles.

There is NO trial version of CP. If you're referring to the 1.1.1 Coreplayer.CAB file posted by some people on the XDA-Devs forums, it's a cracked, pirated copy.
Please also report occurrences of people posting this CAB file. It is a pirate copy and posting it should be sanctioned.

Yeah, sure, the same I say. Nevertheless, it's still way above everyting else particularly when it comes to video playback efficiency and compatibility. That is, it can be safely purchased even w/o trying it first - as long as you don't want to play back an unsupported format (e.g., RMVB) or don't want unsupported features like subtitles.

Oops, sorry I was referring to that copy and didn´t know was pirate...
I know the point of view of XDA-DEVS about it and didn´t want to cause any problem.
My sincere apologies
Of course I´ll be aware to report any occurrences or spam

How to save youtube files?

Is there a legal and easy way to save youtube flv files?
In symbian I used the emtube player, is there a way to do this in windows mobile?
I use the Flash Video Bundle. When you install it, it directs all Youtube URLs to TCPMP. Before the player starts, you have the option to save the video, but it saves it as a file and you can't watch the video while it's downloading.
It's not elegant but it works. Ideally I'd like to use a program that records while streaming.
have you tried W.V.D. search for it on here its called Web Video Downloader.

Youtube links

Is it possible that when a youtube link is posted that when clicking it in opera it doesn't just open the page in youtube but instead opens the video in the youtube app so you can actually watch the video since opera doesn't play embeded videos, unless I've missed an app for this.
im also looking for the same thing, does anyone know how?
This has been asked for time and time again, and there's never been a way to do it. I used to love the way that IE would open the YouTube app when you tried to play a YouTube video, but now I use Opera 10 and watch YouTube vids directly on the page they're on, in full screen. It's perfect. If you can get used to the click-to-zoom and back-to-zoom-out idea, Opera 10 is loads better than 9.7, and plays most flash files (once plugins are turned on).
Actually it is Possible.
I have been doing this for a long time in my hd2.
It doesnt work from a www.youtube.com link. The trick is to use the built in opera browser and open the youtube mobile site at m.youtube.com. just click on any of the thumbnail images of the video and the htc youtube app kicks in and plays it in the proper quality not in 3gp quality of the youtube mobile site !!!
you can also convert any normal youtube video link to mobile youtube link by changing the www into w in the link!
it works like a charm!!!

That's obviously only good for if you're on the YouTube site though. It doesn't help for video posted on other sites, as in links to YouTube. I'd still tell everyone who uses YouTube to get Opera 10. It's great!

yes. You are right. an alternative is tap and hold link in opera and open in new tab and edit "www" to "m".
The thing is with opera 10 direct youtube play the video quality is very blocky!
this gives a much cleaner playback.
I have an idea for any devs to develop a small program to translate the desktop youtube link to mobile youtube link on the fly. kind of an intermediate app which captures the link from opera 9.7 translate the link and pass that to the native youtube app! that would be cool!

[Q] Can someone test video playback and formats?

1080p/720p in mkv, mp4, avi, wmv?
I did see one review where he tested a video, but he gave no information other than it being a mp4. It did seem to stutter a bit, and remarked on it. But I'm wondering how it fares with 720p and 1080p stuff, as well as the various formats.

[Q] [CM11] Some videos not playing after flash

Hi guys,
I rooted my Nexus 5 and flashed CM11 on it. Opened up a page with a vimeo embedded video on it, and got a "plugin not supported" error - in CM browser, Chrome, and Dolphin. Same page worked just fine yesterday on stock. Youtube works fine.
I'm a noob at this, so can anyone point me to what's wrong?
link to that video?
Can't post links yet, but this is the page on which I was trying to play the video:

oh, ok. i see your issue. the video is posted in flash. the nexus 5 can not play flash, unless through a third party app. there are browser that can play it, they send the vid to their site then convert it and play it for you.

It didn't play on the page, but it was able to recognize it as a video and opened it in the video player that Chrome uses.

if not on that page, if directly via vimeo, it could convert the file type so you can watch it. i can watch youtube vids via youtube, because it plays other files if flash isnt supported. but if someone posts a youtube vid in flash, not in youtube.com, then ill get the same error.

Strange. It was on that page, I could see the video thumbnail and clicked on it. I guess I'll just get over it, not many vimeo videos out there generally.
