Is it possible to port (or another suitable word) the new dlls that have improved the speed & graphics of cooked Diamond edition roms to OEM HTC WM6.0?
I am asking this because I need a reliable GPS & Arabic and the only way for them to work after so many flashes is to use the OEM HTC 1.81.415.4 with radio 1.27.12.32
So if it is possible, could one of the Chefs volunteer to do it ? even if for a reasonable fee.

That's quite interesting if it works
Kindly post results those who are willing to try.

Thank you shogunmark for the drivers
A also can't use new ROMs, because they not support my MUI
I installed on Dutty's 19 Apr, and there is no visible improvement... Not in the screen flip and not in video playing
+50 points in GXmark using Dutty hybrid v1 with 24mb page pool...

FYI ..... all of the newer cooked roms will have this already..
Installed on Hyper Dragon II and all of the existing application are running well. No performance slow down. Cannot see any significant improvement yet It takes similar time to do the screen rotation.
I have tried it and somtimes +50 points in GXmark & sometimes not.

Some of us like reverting back to one good old beloved cooked WM6 ROM.
But, when you play a movie on a WM6.1 new ROM, you get better performance as the drivers are cooked within.
Seems like even after installing your cab, video playback is not improved nor 3D gfx in games in comparison to the new ROMs.
Benchmarks do not count IMO, some of you believe in it and some don't.
Well, performance wise; nothing achieved.
Problem wise, none experienced as well.
In the end, useless on WM6.
I think it should be cooked.
If some kind chef cooks a new ROM based onthe latest WM6 build would be much appreciated
Reverted back to the Hyper Dragon III ROM.

Dear Prophet users.
Dont flash Helmi_c 3.5 ROMs because they composed without trying on real device.
Helmi_c has Universal. And his Uni 3.5 version has some glitches.
Helmi's prophet versions boot only to 1 splash and thats all.
I'm trying to compose my own version and my version booting to 2 splash.
I think that i missed something in initialization files.
If anyone can help me, this will be great.
Thank you all.
I think Jesterz or LVSW are your contacts here, but I havn't heard from LVSW for some time, jesterz has done a great job so far on 3.3 clean, anyone else who can help here?

well, I dont find difficulty, so far so good, thats includin my crossbow rom for universal... and so does my BA (Xdaiis), Himalaya project and also Htc scooter (Mitac Mio), offcourse every rom that built with hacked version/method has some bug, thats why we call it beta, this could happen due the drivers availability limitation, and that also happens to original shipped rom right? lol..

Hi Jesterz

Here is a possibility......I am sure I soft reset this device yesterday and the email accounts stayed (not definate though) then I installed some other software, I would guess (purely a guess) that possibly some memory is being overwritten by me installing other software on the device that is being used by the system/email account info as it is only partly dissapearing?
Possible or not possible?

Hi folks,
I guess no one here will/still remember me.
It's been a couple of years since I was active here cooking ROM for the good old PPC 2003.
Well, to get straight to the point, I am here a bit confuse which ROM should I use for my Kaiser.
So I ended up doing some benchmarking.
It might not include the ROMs that everybody wants since this was initially done for my personal/private research.
The way I do this is by benchmarking fresh ROM without changing anything. Everything are ROM's default.
The only thing I do is install Spb Benchmark in to the memory, soft reset, and run the tests.
The reasons why I only put these ROMs (not many) was because I only need a lite roms.
In this benchmarking, I also put some full roms out of curiosity whether Full is better that Lite.
I also come accross some pagepool thread that tells that you can change pagepool on the fly. So I ended up trying to change the pagepool and compare them with the original pagepool.
The ROMs included in this benchmarking are:
Dutty's v1.1 (original 20mbpp). (now INCLUDED in color rank)
Dutty's SupaLite (original 12mbpp).
Dutty's SupaLite (tweaked 64mbpp).
Dutty's v2 Full (original 32mbpp).
Dutty's v2 Full (tweaked 64mbpp).
Dutty's v2 Med (original 12mbpp).
Dutty's v2 Med (tweaked 64mbpp).
Dutty's v3 (original 24mbpp).
Dutty's v3 (tweaked 64mbpp).
Dutty's v4 (qouted from Dutty's benchmark result). (NEW)
Alex ATT (original 16mbpp).
Alex ATT (tweaked 64mbpp).
Alex HTC (original 16mbpp).
Alex HTC (tweaked 64mbpp).
Jack v1.1a Full (original 32mbpp). (NEW)
Jack v1.1a Full (tweaked 64mbpp). (NEW)
Dejan v1.03WMP (original 16mbpp). (NEW)
Dejan v1.03WMP (tweaked 64mbpp). (NEW)
So after all done, eventhough I do all these just for my personal research, as well as costing me quite a lot of time & energy, I was thinking why not share it with everyone in this our most beloved forum regardless whether readers find it usefull or not.
Last but not least, I would like to say HUGE thanks & salute to all of you ROM makers for creating such a wonderful ROMs, as well as the other gurus that I haven't had a chance to try their roms.
You all are the people that keeps people like me alive & busy poking our dear gadgets in this boring routine life.
ps: My apology to everyone if somehow I did something wrong in this test (like try changing the pagepool, different results from your test, etc).
Again, like I said before, this was initailly for personal use.
I just felt that it would be a waste if I just keep it in my harddisk.
Thank you very much.
FYI : Up until now I still can't decide which one I should use.
Please throw me some suggestions.

great work, Its hard to compare roms with benchmarks as Roms are equipped with different programs built in but this does allow the chef to look at how he is doing and also try to change to make his rom better. In recent I found the benchmarks really great assets for my next Roms

From what I can catch, he might want to me to put the unreleased v4 benchmark result in the table, which I already did.
However, like I mentioned before, each person might come up with different result.
Since our man Mr. Dutty hasn't officially release this v4 yet, I just put his benchmark result in.
Once he released it, I'll do it with my benchmark.
Because to be fair, each rom have to be done the same way.
Can't be benchmarked differently, like: install spb benchmark on the memory in 1 ROM, and install on the storage on the other rom in the same table, or else.

Hi hch_111,
what is the procedure or application for changing the pagepool on the fly? I'm assuming this is done without a reflash? Very interesting if no reflashing is involved. hope you can guide me along on this.

Hello all, I read many many many threads about the current cooked ROMs for the Kaiser, but I can't find the answer to my question :
are the Diamond video/3D drivers working with good results on the Kaiser ?
Is the difference very important compared to the 6.1 official HTC ROM ?
Is the video reading really improved with the Diamond drivers ?
According to what I read, everyone says the last Dutty ROM is very fast, but nobody talks about video reading : is it still lagging ?
Same about the other ROMS (HyperDragons and others), they say the diamond drivers are included but "untested"...
Thanks guys !
Short answer (cos I'm bored of typing today ). No, no-one has got the Diamond video drivers working. I'm pretty sure the Diamond has a different chipset to the MSM7200/7201 that the Kaiser uses.
EDIT:
Oh yeah, and it's also a VGA device.
Also, this would probably be better in the General Forum.

My question is asked to know what cooked ROM I may use ... That's why it's in the ROM forum ...
So if I understand well, that means that some ROMS (HyperDragon for exemple) do include the diamond drivers, but they are useless ?

It will have some Diamond Drivers in the ROM, not sure if the graphics ones will be there or not. Have to get a chef to help you with that one.

There's no answer to my main question at this web link :
Do the Diamond video drivers included in some cooked ROMS (like the HyperDragon ROM) increase the video performances of the Kaiser ?
Theres a simple answer to this thread...
NO!
If the diamond drivers worked, then our mission in search of the perfect cooked rom would be complete (as it stands, we are still mere padowans being loured to the dark side of the force)

if you've read it carefully, the answer is NO-- but the graphics performance increased on the new cooked ROMs are mainly because of some new drivers that improved drawing operations. You can see improvements if you would compare Dutty's April 29 to June 7 benchmarks. To quote:
The NLD ROM has an impressive graphics speed improvement on paper, which seems to be mainly due to improved BitBlt performance (BitBlt is used for copying graphics data between places in memory, very important for drawing operations - but many other processing intensive calls are used as well)

Thanks Dizzy for asking this question. I have been looking throught the forums looking for the same answer. (beats working)!!!
I thought that there hadnt been the true break through we have all been hoping for, but little rays of light instead.
My question is: if we havnt 'imported' the new drivers from dimond or elsewhere, how far are we away, if ever from doing so?
I say 'we' in the royal sence, seeing as i know nothing about cooking, just using.
For all those people that know the answer to this and might see it below themselves to answer a noob, just remember you once knew nothing about this as well.
cheers all
I dont't know whether it is real or just a joke, but NoThrills (rom cooker) said at the NoThrills V4 Beta Thread, that he has the driver - but it is not stable yet.
...so we will see.
I'm very pesimistic, but here are a lot of guys who are great (e.g. Niki Project Team who enabled Wifi etc)
There is definitly an improvement, i used different Laurentius Roms and i noticed that the playlist in pocket player for example loads and moves mouch smoother than in other roms. I don't think we will ever get working 3d drivers but it seems to me that the diamond drivers will increase the performance of the daily working, like menus.
Thanks a lot to all of you for your answers !
My main problem with all the last cooked ROM is that I can't find them in the french language and keyboard, otherwise I guess I would install one of them for sure.
I did a SPB benchmark of my device running the official HTC 6.1 ROM (but I didn't do a hard reset for that).
My graphic score is 3850, where all the cooked ROM are around 4250 ... The last Dutty is around 4900 !!!
So I guess my device would be a little faster from a "graphic" point of view.

Before you get out the flamethrowers, I have read about 3,000 posts this morning looking for as bare-bones a TYTN II ROM as I can get. I have some 6.5 ROMS some other cooks have made but I am not sure I have the skills to strip out what needs to be stripped out.

Any chance of finding (getting?) clean ROMs of WM 6.1 and 6.5? Without any customizations... A clean start towards my first kitchen
Thanks but...

It appears your ROM uses Manila, which I am not really in love with.
What should truly be in a bare bones ROM?

the question is: what should truly be in a bare bones ROM?
NET 3.5
Activesync
Almost everything else should be done with UC cabs, IMHO

Paradox,
What rom do you use for your Kaiser TytnII when you run android?
I want a light rom that will allow me to use my phone when I can't use android.
Thanks

You will need to search and flash all the roms in this area to find the one that fits you best.
Closing thread.
Good luck on your findings.

There is no such thing as "best ROM"
All will depend on your personal needs.
What is best to me not necessary should be for you.
Said that, enter to ROM section and read a bit to know users comments, then make your choice
On my opinion Tomal 8.2, 8.5 and 8.9 are the more stable and great performance, but it´s up to you to find out your "best"
Or...............
Or you can check every members signature where they proudly announce their favourite ROM!
but i dunno whether my jasjar is suitable for 64 mb rom or 128 mb rom
If Uni is original (never sent to upgrade Ram) you have and original 64Mb Universal
can i downgrade to my original ROM DOPOD 900 from factory?
or there's problem if i do that?
thx

No problem, you can downgrade same way as you flash a new ROM

I have seen a lot said about Tomal's ROMs as being stable and very reliable, but every link to get the ROMs are always broken! Dead ends. Can someone please provide a very assured link to download Tomal's 6.x versions please?

Cooked ROMs
Best ROM for iMate JasJar (HTC Universal, Exec, ...)
I would have to agree that Tomal's 8.5 is the best of the posted ROMs. Not perfect, but it is very stable, good performing, yet fresh enough to run most new apps.
Above 8.5, there's all this annoying stuff in the UI, and performance and memory usage take a hit. Below 8.5, certain niceties like drag-scrolling disappear, the dialer looks ugly, and fundamental apps such as Microsoft's Facebook won't install.
There are a few non-Tomal ROMs out there - one of them, a WM5-based version, is really very good, and I used it for weeks. But for me, 8.5 with WM6.1 is the best compromise.
It looks like I'll be staying with this ROM, and staying with my iMate JasJar, until a similar or better big-keyboard big-screen phone running Windows Phone 7 becomes cheap enough.
Cheers

First I installed luca16thebig's light ROM 6.1, I found it really awesome as it was really fast and stable in the beginning. But as the time passed I realized that my battery is draining a lot quicker and also the mobile started to RESTART itself once every hour. The last thing which forced me to reflash the device was when I wanted to configure GPRS and no matter what I did it didn't want to connect.
Afterards I installed "TML v8.7.1 21028 regular 64MB", and so far everything is working fine, though its just been 2 days. GPRS is good and battery time is better.
Things I am not liking is the non availability of MMS inside the ROM and also I would really want to disable Auto Time Sync feature somehow.
Apart from this I believe it is so good. But I will flash "TML89_WM61_21048_REGULAR_64MB" or "TML89_WM61_21048_LITE_64MB" tomorrow just to check whats new in there
I hope it helped someone
Have a look through ROM thread, you can disable timesync by deleting from REG startup. MMS can be downloaded as cab, use Dutty's - I've posted it somewhere.
Thanks for the prompt response, I am using Arcsoft - do you think Dutty's is better ? I am going to search the thread for Timesync registry hack..
