[HELP] MPX200 Can't Charge and Keypad Light dissapear - Non-Touchscreen Windows Mobile Other

Anyone know how to fix mpx200 which can't be charged again ??? I can sync to PC just fine, but the battery didn't charged. I also can't charge the battery using normal charger. I know the fix from another website. It said I have to change the fuse or bridge it. But that thread is from about 2 years ago.
I don't know where to buy the fuse mentioned there. And I can't buy something from the Internet.
I live in Indonesia, I have asked that "fuse" thing in some phone repairing services, but they didn't know. Maybe it has a different name here.
And my keypad backlight also dissapear.
Sorry for the bad Engrish.

yes you can bridge the fuse if this is the problem! i encounter also like yours but when i checked the fuse it was ok! i remove the batt, sim and sd overnight, then it was ok by morning. try it!
my keypad backlight also disappers from doing the BASS MOD! i maybe did something wrong during the process, if you've fixed your backlight please tell me how you did it, thanks in advance......

umm... sorry for the noobish question..
but how do i "bridge" the fuse ???? I still didn't get it. i'm not a technician

bridging is just joining each end together! get a piece of thin wire and solder each end to the ends of the fuse.....
the fuse is a safety precaution of the device! it has a maximum capacity of current that can pass through it thus when it is over its limit, it breaks the circuit connection to avoid damage to other components.
if you bridge it, you are not using the fuse anymore since your fuse is broken anyway i guess.
p.s. i'm not a technician either.........

fuse
if your phone works, it is not the fuse. Prob the battery

Universal plunges from a 3 story building... will it survive? place your bets now.

I had to jump over some stupid fence today at my work (didn't want to go all the way around), so i asked my friend to hold my universal while i jumped.
maybe i should have held it myself, because the universal slipped from her hands, and fell down the 3 story building, hitting many many stairs on the way down.
from a first glance i thought its the end of my beautiful relationship with my uni.
but actually after opening it up and checking its insides - it looks pretty okay! nothing seems to be broken or loose...
the problem is: is won't even start. so im trying to discover where malfunction is.
i've tried:
Switching batteries
Plugging it in to a power source (computer / wall)
Dismantling body and screen, tightening all of the connectors
Bootloader mode - not showing anything
Connecting with MTTY - but i can't even get it to connect
Turned on, waited for 5 mins and called it to see if it'll ring (to eliminate screen problems) - forwards to voicemail
Nothing worked, the screen is always blank.
when i plug in a power source, a red light flashes REALLY quickly, and then goes off, after that nothing happens.
the only thing that gave me a clue its still alive somewhere inside - when i plugged it to my computer, windows alerted me i plugged in an unknown device, even when i tried to put it in BL and connect again.
Does anyone have a clue what i can do next to find where the problem lies, and bring my love back to life???
please, i need help on this.
Mine fell a few feet from my hand to the (concrete) floor and was the same - no signs of trauma but completely dead, aside from a light when connected to the charger.
I think the damage will be to the mainboard, so it's a either a case of getting a new board and fitting it, or buying another universal and selling the dead one for parts. I opted for the latter.
My Condolences!! as long you can not find some lose cable or what so ever I believe you will not able to bring your "love" back to alive.
After connecting to your Computer RED light and Your computer doesn't recognize the Device indicates major issue.
Unless you have someone that can work with JTAG. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=309291
hehe, thanx for your replies.
i don't know anyone who deals with jtag, but maybe it'll be a good idea to look for a private repair lab which works with jtag.
i guess for a small amount of money they could help me find the problematic part.
i wanted to avoid sending it over to a some random repair lab, because they might turn out as just some amatures and tell me that the whole main board needs to be replaced, instead of a specific part...
so i'll start with some searching
anyone else have any more suggestions?
mine fell from my pocket and red led pops up only when connected to the charger.. i sent it to ppctechs.. they put it under the infrared oven and nothing happened, so its not lose solder nor connectors nor nothing.. its the mainboard, its hard for it to be replaced as far as component level goes.. but who knows.. personally i think just sell it for parts.. sorry, thats what i did and boutght a new one off ebay for 400
good luck and sorry to hear that..
Am I allowed to cry on this forum ????
One request to Modes... Shall we have a crying smily(?)

Cruise charge prolem

I have a very annoyeing problem, my cruise stop accepting charge the led is lighting and the status when i plug it into power is charging but nothing happen,or it charge and empty the 100 % in 10 min , i bougt the device from uk and the local agent refuse to check it ,ofcoyrse i am not using the offical rom plz plz plz advice me what to do
The first thing i'd check is the charger. Try using a PC to charge the Polaris instead of the charger you are currently using. If it works, get a new charger.
Next thing, i don't know what part of ROM is responsible for the charging circuit control, but i would try & look it up on the forum, and reflash that part of ROM with the original.
And just in case everything else fails, i would start messing with the circuitry, but i would really hope it doesn't get to that, cause today's electronic is really hard to fix, with all those 10++ layers PCB's, BGA chips, hardly identifiable SMD components, etc etc.
Thank you very much for your reply,te problem is i tried all you mention and the problem still the same any advice now?
Try cleaning the the battery contacts, the battery connector contacts and the USB connector contacts. Try replacing the battery with another one, if possible (preferably a 100% working one, for example, try swapping batteries with a friend, just to see if the battery is causing the problem).
And, sorry to disappoint you, but HTC build quality is quite bad, hence, it can easily be a hardware problem. In this case you only have 2 options. Get it to a repair shop/lab or open it up and mess with it yourself. Can't really help you with either, sorry.

Damsel in Distress - USB Port is loose!

Hi all,
The mini USB port for charging and connecting to PC has come loose on my Tornado (i-mate SP5)... I don't really know how it happened (possible jolting in my pocket while running?) but now the thing can't charge or connect or anything. It seems the actual USB casing has come loose and the things inside can't make a connection to charge - err, I don't have the best technical jargon, please bear with me
Ever since I upgraded to 6.1 my Tornado has been my best friend. I'm loathe to buy a new phone (after all the blood, sweat and tears that went into upgrading) so I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix this problem... I could easily take it to a repair shop (I guess), only I'm in a foreign country that doesn't make HTC and the coffers are low... I've managed to take the thing apart to an extent (struggling with the last two screws under the battery compartment), but does anyone know whether taking it apart will actually allow access to the USB area so I can try to fix it?
Please help me if you can!
Thanks,
Jessica
Well there is always a knight in shining armor to help D I D
Any ways , i had the same problem too, while connected with cable my phone dropped and USB port became loose, if you have managed to open the casing and pull apart (clipped togather) both plastic front and back than you can see the board and the usb jack. Mine was completely soldered off . I opened the set completely and soldered it back. ( Added benifit i cleaned dust particles of LCD Screen) OR you can take it to any mobile repair shop where they will be happy to charge you and repair the mobile.

Here is a guide
It'll take a little wiggling around with a Credit Card or similar thin hard plastic to split apart the covers(See #6 on the tutorial, don't use a screwdriver or nothing metal), but be patient. It'll split. First time I opened mine, I was scared to death, now I do it just to kill bordness. Beware of a little connector between the motherboard and the keyboard plate(#7 on the tutorial). Just pry it off gently and when assembling back, make sure you push it back firmly into place. Feel free to message back if u need help.

You had a broken Mini-USB port and you solve the problem by Hard Restting your device? ummm Don't think so mate. A little soldering might help ;->
ok I do not read all post...
thanks very much
now all i need to get hold of is that T5 screwdriver... i hope i can fix the USB port without needing to solder it...
thanks again guys, i'll let you know if it works...

most likely you will need soldering. Take the phone with you to Sears. They have the screwdriver. But I believe it isn't a T5, I think its a T6. You can go to any electronics shop and have them do the soldering. Shouldn't cost you more than a $5.00 tip.
Thanks i never knew this guide existed i worked on unproven grounds scratched my phone a bit , thanks any knowledge is always welcome.
Soldering...
Um, don't solder this yourself without a heat sink. I melted the entire USB assembly when I tried earlier this year, so now that phone can only be charged by removing the battery to charge (which is ok for a backup phone) but I can never update the OS again (which is not).

You can still update the OS by copying the OS file to a miniSD card and change file name to TORNIMG.nbh and boot the phone holding camera button for bootloader and follow instructions.
well, finally got round to soldering, i hope it works...
gents, thanks for your help and i guess i'll be posting here in a few minutes when the damned thing still doesn't work
I used circuit board glue with partial success
I had the same problem with my Tornado. I tried soldering, but the soldering iron I used is old, and the tip was too big to be precise enough to get the job done properly. Or I just suck at soldering. Not sure, but anyways, I ended up using some fast-acting circuit board adhesive from Radio Shack. The phone will charge now, but will not connect to my PC via USB. For now, it's fine, as I already had upgraded to WM6.1, and haven't needed to do any further OS upgrades, and I don't really need to do any email or contact synchs via USB, but it's still kindof annoying. Also, my speaker seems a little static-y and muffled since the attempted soldering. I think I might've damaged a circuit that relates to the earpiece somehow. I guess the moral of my story is be careful when soldering if you don't really know what you're doing. Not that it isn't common sense already...

I don't think so. I have tried naming the file TORMING.nbf and TORMING.nbh on multiple Tornado devices, with multiple miniSD cards, with and without SIM cards, in various states of registry unlock, and superCID unlock. I can't make the phone's bootloader do anything unusual. If you want to give me specific steps I am happy to try again.
yes, kkrull is right. I also tried but not working. I think it is not that easy.

[Q] Hard brick with white LED after removing EMI shields? is it the eFuse?

Hello,
I opened up my Atrix 2 and removed the EMI shields so I could see what was really inside. After that it didn't boot up. Did I crack the eFuse chip or something? Yes I can connect it through USB as the CPU debug mode. But it doesn't boot up? And I know it isn't the battery because I hooked it up for 15 minutes to the wall with a charger with an indicator light and it still doesn't work.
Any input would be appreciated,
Thanks in advanced,

You did not trip the efuse (that is only done by an electrical signal sent from the CPU itself). What you most likely did was trip a sensor when you removed the EMI sheild, that is a big no-no.. Since it is a sensor that is tripped, you can probably see the phone through USB in CPU debug. You do not have a true hardbrick. You might be able to find a new EMI shield sensor and replace it, but no guarantees that will fix it. I have seen in the past with this type of thing that this is done on purpose, so that the company knows you pulled it apart, and will not replace the phone for you, and why sometimes replacing the sensor does not fix the issue.

Exactly the issue you already have, it is a required part of the circuit chain.

You won't find it, it is on the board itself, once the shield is removed, that is it, the link is broken. That is why I recommended getting a phone on ebay with a broken screen and just replacing the whole board with the emi shield still in place, and using your screen and digitizer. Motorola make these things a one shot disassemble. Think more like a grounding link to the board with a conductive gel and once the link it broken that "gel" is gone, and no more circuit for that sensor on the board to pick it up and that link to the board is permanently severed. There is a board mapping on the internet some place that shows all this, at one time it cost 1000 bucks for moto to allow the download, but I have seen people put out there, so.... you might have to dig for it, to get the exact points that you will have to re-patch, but be careful, it is not meant to be re-linked, and you can completely fry the thing if you miss or hit another point on the board.
OK,
I think it is kind of working now. After lots of useless bids on ebay and trying to order a new motherboard. I maybe finally fixed it by just simply putting some back on without superglue or anything and trying it from there.
Right now its just charging with the white LED. If you have the battery in and plug it up via usb, then it will turn on if its just charging. I just need to solder or whatever them back on to be more permenant .
thanks everybody,

Acer aconia one 10, some help/suggestion solder back small smd component D-/D+.

Hello!
I thought maybe someone with more knowledge about electronica can maybe suggest what i can do with this very small problem..
I was repairing an acer aconia one 10.They told me it charged, screen showed that..But the battery drained instead it charged.
I thought maybe something with the usb port, it looked loose.Opened tablet and after i lifted the motherboard i saw indeed one points of the usb housing was loss. But contact points/pins where good. But in the case itself there was a very small square block, what supposed to be connecting d-/d+.
It is in good condition but i cant figure out any more what side supposed to be where. All the contact points are good, came loose from the board but i don't have a ''footprint'' any more..
I read a lot yesterday if i first could discover what it is and what it does.It seems to be doing something what triggers maybe the charging in an higher current.Without it, so with loose D-/D+ i read somewhere it then cannot talk how to charge the tablet, and could even drain the battery...
And that D-/D+ gets short cut to trigger that.
My question is, this little thing must have an front and back i think, but how to see that.Tablet works with another battery..But how to fix this charging problem, what would you guys suggest.I can solder it back, what's the risk.Or solution to trigger the charging, i asked them and they dont need an working usb port, as long it can charge it.Shortcut it, ...I dont know..
Here an vid where you could see the small component behind the usb port.

Thanks ahead!
