Can't answer for WM5 but my WM6.1 ROM doesn't seem to see the backpack at all.

Belongs to the ROM you use
This German has no probs with the VGA Output and the Extended Battery----But there is no WM5 or WM6 driver to use the SF-Slot of the backpack till someone writes one.
Search backpack and you will get this answer everywhere.

HELP Which Bluetooth Car kit Works

Hi Everybody,
I would like to by the most suitable BT car kit for my MDA II.
but i donet know which works ? Which one do you redommend?
Dave
Thanks alot in advance for your advise!
Evening!
Right, first post so I'd better get this right!
Microsoft didn't bother to write the full apps into their standard bluetooth code so the XDAII (assume the mdaII is the same) only supports the "headset" profile - which would mean that normal ("full") car kits won't work as they use the "handsfree" profile.
However - the SonyEricsson HCB (or HBC - can't remember) 30 supports both profiles so the XDAII works fine - I've tried it, it just treats it has a headset.
If you are looking for one of the "plug-in" BT kits just check it runs on the headset profile and you should be fine!
Mike
Thanks alot Mike

xdaII bottom connector problem

hi im new and have a quick query im desperate for an xdaII and it seems ive found a bargain the problem is the connector on the base of the xdaII is not working so the phone will not charge and will not sync with pc on the cradle, battery has to be charged seperate from the pda,ive heard this is a common fault but is it easy to repair as i obviously would like to be able to charge it but more importantly i want to use it with a wired gps cradle for my tom tom navigator.
It all depends on how badly the port is broken.
Here is a page that shows diagrams ofthe connection pins, hopefully it will help you repair it.

thanks ive been reading through any old topics i could find and i think my best bet is to just wait and buy a fully working unit.cheers
well happy to say ive now purchased an spv m1000 which is only a month old so im very pleased, and ill be visiting here lots to learn how to use it to its full potential.

Newbie XDA/Sat Nav upgrade question

Hi, I've recently registered despite lurking for most to the time I've had my XDAII, but never had to ask a question becasue someone else got there first.
I'm being forced down the route of changing from my XDAII because the touchscreen section cracked yesterday Having said that given the amount of abuse I've given it I chuffed its lasted this long, probably a year better than any other phone I've had!
One of the major things I use my XDAII for is Sat Nav, using TT3 and a Holux GPS cradle, which is a very neat installation one power lead, no need to wire up a reciever or power a bluetooth reciever etc. My understanding is that all of this can be reused if i go to either the XDAIIi or XDAIIs, because the connector pins and OS are the same (or atleast similar) etc.
However if I upgrade to the XDA Exec, I'm going to need a new cradle, new GPS reciever (because I dont think anyone does a combined cradle and reciever for the Exec like I have currently), and new TT5 software to use with the 2005 spec OS? Does anyone do a powered/active 'stick to the windscreen' mount for the Exec, the Brodit unit looks like its vehicle specific, whic his great if you only drive one car...which I dont! does anyone do a wired GPS reciever to mate with the Exec or do I have to use tart mode, sorry bluetooth?
What are your thoughts on all of this? To Exec or not that is the question.
Regards
Iain
Brodit do a suction cup windscreen mount in the Proclip range. I would imagine this to remain compatible with their Exec cradle.
Hi,
I retail all the brodit kit, if you are not already sorted, ill be happy to advise if i can.
Hope that helps, PM if you need any assistance.
Thanks
Bryson

Imate Ultimate 9502 Tv out question

I am looking at buying an imate ultimate but there seems to be some issues with charging it while the Tv out is connected....
I want to be able to display my tomtom on an external screen that i have in my car, it is much bigger than a phone screen.....
I have been led to believe that i cannot charge the phone while i am using tomtom which is pretty useless really.....
Is anybody aware if there are any ways around this...?? Is there a cable that can be bought or made up....??
Is there any way to identify what pins do what and how to make up a cable...??
Can 11 pin usb ends be purchased from anywhere to make a cable....???

Sorry for the late response. Had not noticed your post before. The TV-out cable, which is included in the 9502 package, already allows its battery to be charged whilst connected to the TV/projector.
Just my 2 cents...
Cheers!
Carlos

Hadn't checked back until just now........

You're welcome, Roger! Some pieces of advices: if you decide to buy an i-mate 9502, register it on www.imate.com right away, in order to be allowed to use their i-Q services (very useful, IMHO), then dowload their official WM6.1 v1.77 ROM from there, and flash it on your device.
You see, although I've come from a much beloved HTC Universal (O2 Xda Exec flavoured), I have never regreted having shifted to the 9502.
Cheers!
Carlos
yes the tv-out cable is included in the package. The TV-Out feature works perfect and there is still a way to plug your charger on.
there is also an option (Start -> Settings -> System -> TV Out) for NTSC and PAL tv systems. Checked on PAL and works...

Can I use TYTNII or any other GPS-enabled phone as bluetooth GPS receiver?

I have Mapking on both my TYTN II and PC and I want to use the one on my PC for navigation as the screen is bigger.
How can I set up my TYTN II as a GPS receiver to be used together with the PC version of Mapking? There is absolutely no help file on this at all. I don't want to spend extra money buying bluetooth GPS receivers.
Any experts here? Please help.

GPSGate is one solution, I think there is another one but I don't know the name offhand.
