Finance Application - Touch Cruise General

I use microsoft money 2007 on my PC to manage my finances. Is there anything on the handheld that I can put that will synch with MS Money 2007?

I used to use money also but the MS stopped supporting the WM plug in, i then went to ultrasoft money in some minor respects it is not as good and the MS plug in. But in the main it does work well

Spb Finance
Try Spb Finance.
For me it works great.

Cash Organizer works pretty well with money, although I use 2005 (the last UK version produced).
There used to be issues with SPB finance syncing with Vista and/or WM6 although those problems may have been solved by now.

ActivSync with lotus Notes

Hi all,
Since acquiring my new Pocket PC, I have noticed that I am only able to ActiveSync with MS Outlook. Is it possible to get the Pocket PC to ActiveSync with Lotus Notes as we use this application for work. Considering I do travel a bit, I would prefer this option and not only ActtiveSync with my home PC which of course does use MS products. I use my Pocket PC with my Thinkpad so I need it to be rather compatible in more ways than one.....
Thanx for any advice,
Sean
this maybe?
http://sync4j.funambol.com/main.jsp?main=theproject
otherwise you can google some more using this search

Try mNotes
I have been using mNotes for years now. It's not perfect, but works OK. www.commontime.com
Thanx
Thanx for the quick responses and expert advice. I have subsequently downloaded and installed the software from commonplace. I will test this evening when at home....
Ciao
Sean
Commontime mNotes is not WM5 compatible yet. There is a private beta that has not been disclosed to the public yet. E.t.a. for the release 4-6 weeks :-(
Pumatech Intellisync is not WM5 compatible either. E.t.a. another 4 weeks minimum
Easysync Pro is not WM5 compatible, and IBM has no clue on when it will be.
(Main reason for incompatibility: location of databases has changed in the WM5 model, and sync tools cannot access these databases anymore)
well unless he picked the wrong image for his profile and he dont have an xda1 then it dont matter because there is no 2005 for xda1's
hahaha point taken, forgot to look at the device type concerned
Outlook Notes Connector
M$ provide a free connector that lets you use Outlook to access Lotus Notes messages:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...59-5F17-4E52-8980-C4F0DFA92D65&displaylang=en
So you may be able to use Activesync and Outlook.
It works
Hi,
I have downloaded and installed the MNotes. So far it is working great. I am able to ActiveSync with my notes app's on my laptop just perfectly......it really helps instead of lugging my laptop from meeting to meeting. Access all my emails that I have sync'ed with, keeping track of all my meetings, telephone numbers and e-mail address etc.......
Now if only I could get my connection with my ISP for WAP, general GPRS and international SMS'es sorted out, this will be perfect......
Thank you all once again for the assistance. You have all been great...
Sean.

help syncing contacts on windows vista

hi guys, just a quick and simple question.....
in windows vista, if i sync up and sync all contacts, where does it store this info, in xp it saved these contacts to my outlook, but on vista, alli have is windows mail and there are no contacts in there, i cannot seem to find them anywhere and need to know this works before loosing all my contacts with an upgrade.
i actually posted this somewhere else, i think it was the wrong forum, so added another here...
This forum is mainly for running Windows Mobile 6 on the HTC Universal.
However, here is how I understand it: If you don't run Outlook on your Vista machine, you can't sync your contacts or calendar... and that is REALLY stupid since Vista HAS a Calendar built-in!
For contacts, check in the 'Contacts' folder under your Username (click Start -> (username) and then Contacts. If it's not there, I don't know where it goes. I bought Outlook.
checked that, windows mail, no contacts, windows contacts, no joy, i even had a copy of microsoft office 2007 running the other day and still didnt work.
has anyone got any contacts synced up with vista??
I used to have Vista running with Office 2007 and it synced ok to Office, but after a couple of syncs it stopped recognising the device. After a lot of playing around, I came to the conclusion that Vista sucks the proverbial ass and is not really ready for release yet, so I downgraded again to XP.
My flatmate has stuck with Vista and is having the same problems on his Wizard. I do think it's a problem with Vista more than WMDC or the phone. Vista's 'Security' features render it pretty unstable at accepting communication with most devices as nearly no drivers are at WHQL level yet, even the inbuilt M$ drivers. (That's purely my own opinion, thousands disagree with me!).
Sorry I can't be more help.

no worries fella, any information is good, i must admit vista has its good points, but fails on many needed values, especially when connecting devices with there own software.
unfortunatly, i had no choice in the matter of getting vista, my old laptop died and i couldnt get hold of a new one fast enough that still had xp installed. i didnt even get a backup copy of vista to downgrade then upgrade at a later date. oh well.
i heard about people using a virtual machine to run RUU for upgrading devices, i might give this a go... its a pain in the arse, but i really dont want to loose all my contacts....
My Universal seems to be syncing with Office 2k7 just fine. I haven't tried in a couple of days, but I'll give it a shot tonight just to make sure everything is working okay. I'm even running as a non-administrator.
Once you have Office installed you just need to make sure that the boxes are checked in mobile device manager. Have you installed the device manager update? (links towards the bottom of the page). That might help a bit.
i was running Vista since it RTMed and i have had no problems syncing Universal with WMDC, even when it was in Beta stage. Now with fully updated WMDC and Office 2007 Pro i cant see any better partnership for my device. everything syncs just perfectly. And i will never go back to Active Sync or XP for that matter. Vista, Office2007, WMDC are soooooooo much better.
I AM LOVING IT....
its all sorted now, thanks for your help guys.
i just reinstalled office 07 and repaired device as a new device, ticked contacts and it worked.
woohoo
Syncing with Wondows Calendar/Contacts
Right, I've got Vista on my new laptop but have no intention in acuiring Outlook 2007 for it (at the moment I'm running Office Home and Student 2007 - no Outlook any more, just Onenote, don't get me wrong I love Onenote!) I was just planning on using Windows Live Desktop Mail and Windows Contacts on my laptop as I have a desktop running the full Office Auite. However, I would like my hpone to be able to sync contacts and calendar onto my laptop.
Does anyone know of a 3rd party app which allows for WMDC to sync with the built in Calendar and Contacts within Vista?
Currently my Desktop in running Office 2003 and Active Sync 4.1 on a XP Home SP2 OS.
My laptop is running Office 2007 and WMDC on Vista Home Premium.
My phone is a T-Mobile Vario II running WM5. I'd love to upgrade to WM6 but I'm a bit worried to use a home brew as I don't really know what I'm doing when it comes to switching. I just wish T-Mobile would support the Vario II the same as the have done the Dash!
Any suggestions for keeping all my contacts and calendar up to date across all three devices?

Does anybody knows if microsoft is working on this issue or simply they want that we pay for Outlook?
I can't belive that they don't let us use the built-in calendar/contact!
Any third-part software?
It is meaningless!
Allmost all PDAs that are being sold on the planet comes with version of Microsoft Outlook so no need to buy it!
And Yes it is very sad that you can't sync with Vista's internal programs! They are wey easier to use!

Mine is Outlook 2002!
I don't think it will run on Vista.. But even if it runs.. I can't understand why i have to install that USELESS (and bloatware..) software!
I would use Vista becuse, as you said, it's much more easy!
So why have i instal Outlook (old version) if there is a "mini" (???) outlook built-in?
i guess they consider people who buy this kind of device would actually not care much for price or for outlook since outlook is standard for evey office out there.. have you ever seen a business rely on whatever comes with windows and not ms office? anyway i agree with all of you, there should be some way or 3rd party app that syncs regular windows stuff..
ms is never money satisfied!

LOL
So, why they make a camera phone? Businessman can buy 10 megapixel camera.
Why they make pocket pc? Businessman can buy UMTC!
So, sorry, but i can not agree on this theory.
We have a good PIM on Vista. What I ask is to USE IT.
So, is there anyone who knows something about this issue?
Any from the betatesters?
The problem is that Vista was released prior to WM6
The solution is:

Yes i know.. but we can read:
Microsoft® Outlook® 2003 and Microsoft® Outlook® 2007 messaging and collaboration clients are required for synchronization of e-mail, contacts, tasks and notes to a Personal Computer.

So we can understand that:
-Microsoft don't care about calendar.. LOL
-"Allmost all PDAs that are being sold on the planet comes with version of Microsoft Outlook" but it is too old, it wold not run on Vista (Microsoft says it, not me).
So, i repeat: anyone knows if Microsoft is working on sync between PDA and Vista PIM?
Is there a mail, a forum, where i could ask this simply question to Microsoft?
Thank you.

Windows XP / Lotus Notes @ work, Vista / Windows Mail @ home. Sync?

Sorry for the long title, it was the best I could come up with.
First, the facts:
My work PC uses Windows XP and Lotus Notes 6.5.
My home computer is Vista Business, Outlook is NOT installed.
My phone is (well, will be, when it arrives) a Cingular 8125/HTC Wizard. From what I can gather on the forums, I have the option of running WM5 or WM6.
I only care about syncing my contacts and calendar, email is of no concern.
My questions are:
Is it possible to sync contacts and calendar info in the above scenario? From a few posts I read here and elsewhere, it seems you need to install Outlook in order to sync to Vista.
If this is possible, what mix of software will allow this?
I support I'd prefer WM6 for my device, but for no real reason other than being "the latest". Would I be better served sticking to WM5?
If I *have* to install Outlook at home to get this working, what version would be best? Would Outlook 2007 be able to import my existing rules/filters, messages, etc?
Am I missing anything else?
Thanks!
-Brett.

I have done some searching and I'm familiar with Easysync Pro. I'm running an older version now for my Pocket PC 2002 PDA now. (v4.22). The latest version has the following requirements...
Supported mobile devices:
Microsoft Pocket PC 2000 / 2002 / 2003 / Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 for Pocket PC devices (ActiveSync)
Looks like it's not ready for WM6?

Do you have any personal experience with this?
I checked out the vendor's site and it looks promising:
Compatible Devices:
...- Windows Mobile 5 & 6
However:
Works with applications:
- Microsoft Outlook 98, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007
- Lotus Notes R5, 6.0, 6.5, 7.0
- Novell Groupwise 6.5 SP2/7.0
- Lotus Organizer 5.0, 6.0, 6.1
- ACT! 2000, 5.0, 6.0
Looks like I'd have to install Outlook at home. Not a huge deal, but Windows Mail is working fine for us.
Thanks,
-Brett.
There might be a simpler solution: try one (or more) of the online syncing services. Many are free, some have paid adds-ons that are even more useful, and best - no extra software to install.
I haven't tried them myself yet -- but planning to do so soon -- but I want try mobical.net, zyb.com, and plaxo.com (in that order).
If anyone has links to good, informative reviews to these 3 services, I'm eager to see them.
"Do you have any personal experience with this?"
nop just did the search dont have any exp with notes
EasySync Pro is working well for WM6.
fyi .. I am using Atom Exec. Windows XP with Lotus Notes 7.0 and EasySync 4.2.4
IBM / Lotus have recently released EasySync 4.2.5 - but you have to pay for it...
Pity I didn't find that out before my Kaiser arrived today!

Extracting data from MS Money Mobile

I have Microsoft Money Mobile installed on my AT&T Tilt. I do not have a copy of Microsoft Money for my desktop however, and I would like to be able to export the data that is on my phone so I can view it on my desktop.
I've tried SQLCE Desktop Manager, but it is unable to see the databases.
When I explore the device through ActiveSync, I can see the databases, but cannot manipulate them as files.
I also tried UltraSoft MoneyLink, but it is only a plugin for Excel, which I also do not have (I'm an OpenOffice user).
Thoughts on how to get the data out of my phone?
Thanks!
(and a sub-question...are there any free or cheap bankbook-like apps for Windows Mobile that don't suck? The interface for Money Mobile is terrible and extremely limited)
I know this is not what you are after but, 2006 Microsoft money had the abilty to sync your Money with your PPC. I liked that interface and used it quit a bit. Money 07 and on , Microsoft dropped the feature.

Indeed, that is not what I'm after...I just need to dump the databases to a CSV or some other easily-parsed format.
