As you all probably know, HTC developed a new phone called the touch diamond. Now i am interested in the rom. It has got the new TouchFLO 3D as well as the new Soft Keyboard and many more. Some people think it won't be possible due to the bigger processor you will be needing to run the interface on a Herald. But can someone adapt the rom so it will be?
Grtz!
I think that HTC put that specific rom on the Diamond because i think the rom asks alot of the processor.
As you know, Herald doesn't have a very good and fast processor.
I would like to see manila on the Herald tho
The software keyboad can be found in the Kaiser forum, it works fine on the Herald.
I doubt the Diamond interface will run on the OMAP 850 processor.
I doubt TouchFLO 3D will run on QVGA
Not only that, but it is rummored that the Diamond has 3D acceleration providing the muscle for TouchFLO 3D, so it's not happening for us, unfortunately.
Oh well, thanks anywayz ^^
I'm thinking buying a HTC raphael when it's out there!
Grtz!
?
I got a Polaris (Touch Cruise). Is my processor enough for running that 3d Flow rom ???
Its really Slow on the wing i barely got it to work

So, which do you think it will be, the next "ultimate" device? THe HTC Omni, or the HTC Athena?
Well, we have real pics, and definate specs for the Athena, and not much for the Omni.
Bit early for the poll maybe?
Plus, I am wondering if HP will have any problems with the Omni name, since they had the OmniGo, and now have OmniBooks.
I used to have an OmniGo, and loved it. The screen used to flip back so you could use it as a portrait device, or with the screen in landscape with the keyboard.
Sound familiar?

I think Omni the code name, as long as it is not the name for the final product, I think it is ok.
Athena is cooooool
Omni looks like Universal .. probably identical?
Are there confirmed pics of the Omni then?
I thought it was still unspecified specs, and no pics.
Oops.. hmm.. seems that I was looking at Universal's pic for all the Omni pages I got from google
Athena is excelent cuz of 624 MHZ processor
hp has already made pocket pc with that processor
hp 2795 (but only pocket pc not with phone)
Now this is really cool!

WM6 Pro
GPS
Release Date: June, 2007
I can't wait!!!
I really like it
looks like a polished TyTN and the GPS addiction addresses one of the few issues with TyTN
Can't wait.. this will be my next phone/pda.
When When How Much?!?
Dang, just blew 400 on the TyTN, like it but not as much as my Wizard. This Kaiser looks to be the next thing to incite my gadget lust. WHEN and HOW MUCH!?
Kaiser..
TyTn/8525 purchase/order is ON HOLD!
Am I blind or is the nice new shiny 3MP camera lacking a flash??
Mentioned this in the Hermes thread also.
S.K.
New "press shots"
As posted on Engadget Mobile
http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/03/22/htc-kaiser-poses-for-a-press-shot/
Damn I want one!!!
Now from what I understand HSUPA gives data upload speeds of up to 5.76Mbits and according to this wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-Speed_Uplink_Packet_Access Cingular is doing field tests in late 2006. Does anyone know any more about this or what the timeline might be for actual deployment?
Looks like AT&T wants to roll out HSUPA this year!!http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/03/29/atandt-to-add-hsupa-this-year/
Of course that probably means it will take 3 years to be everywhere, but hopefully we will get in DC sooner vs. later. Also, hopefully this is good news for Cingular getting the Kaiser when it launches.
Finally an Opera mobile 9 that works on the Pocket PC ( with out all messed up images ). Supposedly this version is a rip from the HTC Touch Diamond. It runs a bit faster too compared to the older Opera 9 .
Note :
* It seems to get installed in to phone memory regardless of where u choose to install it
* Need to reboot for it to work
* CAN be uninstalled

Wow, works great! thanx a lot
Good job
Sweet...those PPC Geeks did it again!
Runs pretty slowly on my Kaiser, and crashes a lot too...
Works on my Mogul better then the Beat 9.5 but I am encountering some problems with data intensive pages.
does youtube work with this version? i guess not... am i right?
Just installed on my imate 9502... soft-rest and locks-up device after re-boot! Please don't tell me I need to hard reset for simply installing this?!?
UPDATE: YUP! Hard reset, here I come! Beware guys!
When I saw HTC's new Manila version from the Diamond 2 and Pro 2 and intsalled Dutty's Xtreme ROM on my HD, some things attracted my attention.
Did you notice the similarities between the programs FingerMenu and FingerKeyboard that were released here at xda-developers and HTC's new menu and keyboard designs?
What's interesting is that those programs were released only a few weeks before HTC came up with it's new Manila version that contains the new menus and keyboard layouts.
See the screenshots for comparison:

Is it pure coincidence? Or is HTC reading our forum attentively in order to 'steal' the best ideas created here? Or do they even license programs created on xda-developers?
Even Microsoft seems to be copying the concept of FingerMenu:
OK, I have to mention that these menus were already integrated into TouchFlo, but NOT into the whole system.
Oh, and there's the obvious iPhone-copying, too:
And they even copied the Palm Pre already: Contacts integration with facebook, and the new 'interaction' views in the contacts menus clearly remind me of the concepts Palm introduced some weeks ago...
It's really interesting to see xda-developers, HTC and Microsoft developing the same concepts at the same time....
I've posted here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=531099 previously, but I think that's the wrong forum, so mods, sorry for bothering you.
I'm about to buy an HTC Touch, and I have a few questions.
1. What is the difference between HTC Touch Viva and HTC Touch? Wiki says this:
"The HTC Touch Viva and HTC Touch 3G have a version of TouchFLO 3D that lacks the 3D visual effects found on other devices with TouchFLO 3D. HTC is also calling this significantly different user interface TouchFLO"
Is this correct? What exactly is the difference? I
2. I have two options of HTC Touch 3452 to buy (used).
The first one has WM 6.0, and is cheaper, and it's home screen looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The second one has , has WM 6.1, and it's home screen looks somthing like this:
Is it possible to upgrade the WM6.0 one to WM6.1? I presume it is. If I do, will it become just like the one with WM 6.1 originally?
Sorry if the question sounds complicated.
EDIT:
3. There are two versions of the HTC touch, one with double the RAM of the other. How do I check how much ram does the phone have?
