When I saw HTC's new Manila version from the Diamond 2 and Pro 2 and intsalled Dutty's Xtreme ROM on my HD, some things attracted my attention.
Did you notice the similarities between the programs FingerMenu and FingerKeyboard that were released here at xda-developers and HTC's new menu and keyboard designs?
What's interesting is that those programs were released only a few weeks before HTC came up with it's new Manila version that contains the new menus and keyboard layouts.
See the screenshots for comparison:

Is it pure coincidence? Or is HTC reading our forum attentively in order to 'steal' the best ideas created here? Or do they even license programs created on xda-developers?
Even Microsoft seems to be copying the concept of FingerMenu:
OK, I have to mention that these menus were already integrated into TouchFlo, but NOT into the whole system.
Oh, and there's the obvious iPhone-copying, too:
And they even copied the Palm Pre already: Contacts integration with facebook, and the new 'interaction' views in the contacts menus clearly remind me of the concepts Palm introduced some weeks ago...
It's really interesting to see xda-developers, HTC and Microsoft developing the same concepts at the same time....

What is O2 Active UI or is it Active GUI? Omegaone Technical Support say in email O2 Active UI. I read in this forum there is O2 Active GUI. Which one right?
Story like this. I install 1-Pass software and at same time have PhonePlus. My Phoneplus 3 become hang or slow and have to make softreset. OmegaOne (1-Pass) technical feedback to me that I have to either uninstall the Active UI component on the device or contact the company I purchased from to request a refundbecause 1-Pass is not compatible with the O2 ActiveUI at present. They cannot do anything about it. I'm using O2 XDAII.
As far as I know they are the same. GUI stands for graphical user interface, UI stands for user interface. As for what it is....its this screen:

Might be worth having a look here:

I don't have any like that.
Since I cannot use that 1-Pass. can you guys suggest me the softwares that can locked like 1-Pass software?
I have been looking for this today theme and I can't find it anywhere. The only place I found it is attached to the WM 6.5 for the Titan, but it runs too slow since it's a beta. Can anyone tell me where to get a .cab or OEM for this, or even the name? Searching for honeycomb doesn't come up with anything.

The issue is that the whole thing is quite tightly integrated into the OS. You can't simply take OEM packages from the 6.5 build ROMs and place them into 6.1 ROMs.
HoneyComb Start Menu
I have been looking all over for a Honeycomb start menu which can be used on WM6.1 on a HTC HD...
Anyhelp would be wonderful and a beer on me definitley...
guys, if you'd like to use the currently existing WM6.5 features, look for ROMs of 6.5 in your devices' sections.. you can't just copy the OS to your device..
about the start menu itself.. maybe someone will develop something similar soon.
Thanks
Thanks Ill keep checking...
FWIW there is a WM6.5 skin for SPB Mobile Shell, search the Dev and Hacking forum. I tried it but didn't like it, purely personal choice.

I like the way WM 7 is heading. Especially with a new Windows Media Player...
Looks fake to be honest, on one of the phones, the today page looks a bit squashed.
This pic gives me the same impression: Fake
HTC S621 on the pic has 64Mb of RAM and a 200Ghz processor and according to the wm7 requirements S621 will not pass
Just my opinion

THIS IS NOT WINDOWS MOBILE 7. WMExperts confirmed its just a flash app for the commercial.

Well of course it is not the actual OS running on the devices. It is however the concept for the UI MS is currently working on, so the final product may (and I think almost certainly will) look a lot like those images.
What do you think about new feature in windows 7 called Device Stage?
little more about it

Can this be done with HTC phones?
I like the concept. It's about time, we can get a picture of our own phone/mp3 player on the screen, color included. Itunes has only done that for about 4 versions now.
Here is the link to the developer kit: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/DeviceExperience/Dev-Kit.mspx
Which I assume will never get utilized by phone manufacturers, since Microsoft is leaving it up to them. Maybe for the newest ones.
Nice article about it: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2354491,00.asp
If there is a place likely to develop these custom .xml profiles before waiting for the phone companies to do it, XDA seems like the place.
Any takers on cooking these profiles up? 1 Vote for the Tilt.

I've gone through a few phones recently and many of them already do this in WMDC but I suspect you need a manufacturer that can be bothered. In fact, I remember my tosh g900 doing this a couple of years ago.

Some interesting news from the Bluetooth Special Interest Group, a submission dated December 23 for the INQ Cloud Touch – an Android smartphone with Facebook built into its core!
This is the listing info:
“INQ Cloud Touch is an Android smartphone built to make messaging faster and smarter. It’s designed around the way people naturally communicate and has Facebook built into its core. The homescreen features multiple entry points to different Facebook functions, while a dynamic widget displays a feed of status updates, albums, videos and photos.”

can we port it to the hd2? ^^
lol what cant be ported to the hd2

Pretty slick ad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_profilepage&v=DD5W2ZubIB0
Got my hands on this it's so cool. If I had root I'd post a dump
Have you rooted the device? I have been using INQ Cloud Touch now for two months and would like to have the device rooted.
Other experiences: Wifi driver is really bad and insensitive. It can't find networks that for example iPad can. Asked it from support and they just said that it's cheap phone so you can't really expect working wifi...
