Athena, or Omni?

So, which do you think it will be, the next "ultimate" device? THe HTC Omni, or the HTC Athena?

Well, we have real pics, and definate specs for the Athena, and not much for the Omni.
Bit early for the poll maybe?
Plus, I am wondering if HP will have any problems with the Omni name, since they had the OmniGo, and now have OmniBooks.
I used to have an OmniGo, and loved it. The screen used to flip back so you could use it as a portrait device, or with the screen in landscape with the keyboard.
Sound familiar?

I think Omni the code name, as long as it is not the name for the final product, I think it is ok.

Omni looks like Universal .. probably identical?

Are there confirmed pics of the Omni then?
I thought it was still unspecified specs, and no pics.

Oops.. hmm.. seems that I was looking at Universal's pic for all the Omni pages I got from google

Athena is excelent cuz of 624 MHZ processor
hp has already made pocket pc with that processor
hp 2795 (but only pocket pc not with phone)

Sick of t-mobile wing and I want new ppc. I am reading the forums and I have seen alot of post about poor video playback. Is this phone worth getting? Should I wait for something else? Thank you for any help.

Had mine about 4 days now and so far love it. Very stable device.

Thank you for the reply. I hope its a lot faster then my wing. Im using tf2d and loving it. Is there a lot of skins for TF3D?

definitely a excellent device.. viewed some movies on the raphael and it is very sharp!
just all around great device! - if you do the work, tweek, take the time and put effort into it - the ppc is sweet!

It is a perfect device when you tweak it and make it your own. I got the Fuze and with all the bloatware and the stock ROM it was crap, but when I flashed a new ROM it turned into a new beast!!! I love it now.

If true, then that July 6.5 release beats the h#ll out of a November date...

am not impressed. whats gonna happen is htc is gonna release and rush a whole bunch of crappy phones all with the same features, no major software improvement with a whole bunch of issues.
when are they gonna become serious about competing with the iphone on some super dooper level

Not until MS buys them....
There is a lot to be said about controlling software & hardware.

WOW, awesome orb, great find!
The things I find most interesting on there are the fact that the Hengshan is WM6.5, and the note says "Huashan OS change to WM to be confirmed"!! Looks like HTC isn't giving up on good ol WM just yet

Yeah that is something to follow up...
I think HTC has to come with their own OS, same as iphone, same manufacturer builds devices and OS, that way we users will enjoy from better and faster OS!!

The Huashan looks interesting, but I hope they stick to Android and don't make the same mistake they did with the HD2. Gonna be an interesting Fall this year.

I think that would be fantastic, both have relatively quick development cycles. Unfortunately for HTC, they seem to lack terrestrial north american facilities to mass produce great phones for the US market where they could be a very strong competitor.

Inspire vs Captivate pics side by side?

For those upgrading from the Captivate and lucky enough to have received the Inspire: can you post some side by side pics of the various angles for us to drool at? I'm wondering how much bigger the Inspire is... I've searched and can't find anything.

I doubt you'd want to wait this long, but I have the captivate. And I am upgrading to the inspire .. march 5th. haha. yeah so if no one does it by then just inbox me and i'd be happy to send you some !

If no one else does, I will get some later this week, possibly as early as Sunday evening.

Thanks NetNerd! Can you post pics of the sides to see their relative thickness? Looks like the phone itself is not much bigger, but 0.3" screen difference is huge.
I'm itching to get the Inspire now...
