If true, then that July 6.5 release beats the h#ll out of a November date...
am not impressed. whats gonna happen is htc is gonna release and rush a whole bunch of crappy phones all with the same features, no major software improvement with a whole bunch of issues.
when are they gonna become serious about competing with the iphone on some super dooper level
Competition?
What?
Sacrilege!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not until MS buys them....
There is a lot to be said about controlling software & hardware.

^ agree, that combination would resolve many current issues...better buy stock in htc & hope for a MS takeover!!

WM6 Pro
GPS
Release Date: June, 2007
I can't wait!!!
I really like it
looks like a polished TyTN and the GPS addiction addresses one of the few issues with TyTN
Can't wait.. this will be my next phone/pda.
When When How Much?!?
Dang, just blew 400 on the TyTN, like it but not as much as my Wizard. This Kaiser looks to be the next thing to incite my gadget lust. WHEN and HOW MUCH!?
Kaiser..
TyTn/8525 purchase/order is ON HOLD!
Am I blind or is the nice new shiny 3MP camera lacking a flash??
Mentioned this in the Hermes thread also.
S.K.
New "press shots"
As posted on Engadget Mobile
http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/03/22/htc-kaiser-poses-for-a-press-shot/
Damn I want one!!!
Now from what I understand HSUPA gives data upload speeds of up to 5.76Mbits and according to this wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-Speed_Uplink_Packet_Access Cingular is doing field tests in late 2006. Does anyone know any more about this or what the timeline might be for actual deployment?
Looks like AT&T wants to roll out HSUPA this year!!http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/03/29/atandt-to-add-hsupa-this-year/
Of course that probably means it will take 3 years to be everywhere, but hopefully we will get in DC sooner vs. later. Also, hopefully this is good news for Cingular getting the Kaiser when it launches.
Have a hands on experience, it's wonderfull and full of new features.
I loved it

well .. i just saw it
don't embarrass me !
Lol just having a bit of fun mate, dont take it seriously!
Been using this for more than a month now... absolute gorgeous and plays exceptional well with S2 series and new icontact.
Highly recommended.
1.02 was so much better in every way....
I still use it since like.. january!
awesome app, just a sad evolution to 1.5....
I guess it depends on phone/rom etc.
1.02 locked up everytime I use the currently running function which forced me to use another task manager.
1.02 also gets closed by the "OK" button when I used HButton + HTC x-button.
These two are the major annoyances which stopped me from using 1.02.
1.51 has all that fixed and the built-in contacts is also kinda cool.
I think the earlier version was much better looking
.... and it doesn't work on my G900 (which has a high res screen (800x480(?)).
Hi guys im looking to get a new phone. At the moment i have a HTC touch elf, (t-mob thing).
I have flashed it ect, great phone but looking for somthing newer.
Any idea what phone to get?, Is a HTC the way to go?, or another brand?.

why would you get anything else? Especially, if you have hundreds of developers that work in harmony and thousands of users willing to assist. Unless you do not enjoy spending countless hours modifying your device to meet your preferences. Touch Pro 2 should be coming out in mid April, which looks very intriguing. However, I do not think I would be ready to unleash my kaiser until it passes away.
But then again it is all personal preference. Hopefully your parents or anyone else in your life do not dictate how you should live it. It is your choice and there is not really a reasonable purpose for this thread.
Redundancy is a Devil

Can this be done with HTC phones?
I like the concept. It's about time, we can get a picture of our own phone/mp3 player on the screen, color included. Itunes has only done that for about 4 versions now.
Here is the link to the developer kit: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/DeviceExperience/Dev-Kit.mspx
Which I assume will never get utilized by phone manufacturers, since Microsoft is leaving it up to them. Maybe for the newest ones.
Nice article about it: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2354491,00.asp
If there is a place likely to develop these custom .xml profiles before waiting for the phone companies to do it, XDA seems like the place.
Any takers on cooking these profiles up? 1 Vote for the Tilt.

I've gone through a few phones recently and many of them already do this in WMDC but I suspect you need a manufacturer that can be bothered. In fact, I remember my tosh g900 doing this a couple of years ago.

WOW, awesome orb, great find!
The things I find most interesting on there are the fact that the Hengshan is WM6.5, and the note says "Huashan OS change to WM to be confirmed"!! Looks like HTC isn't giving up on good ol WM just yet
Yeah that is something to follow up...
I think HTC has to come with their own OS, same as iphone, same manufacturer builds devices and OS, that way we users will enjoy from better and faster OS!!
I think cash heavy Google will buy HTC someday
Hope they dont
If not WM will be gone and I still have some love for
The Huashan looks interesting, but I hope they stick to Android and don't make the same mistake they did with the HD2. Gonna be an interesting Fall this year.

I think that would be fantastic, both have relatively quick development cycles. Unfortunately for HTC, they seem to lack terrestrial north american facilities to mass produce great phones for the US market where they could be a very strong competitor.
