Hi all,
Im probably being stupid and please tell me if i am, but i wanted to find out does no one make cooked WM6 ROM's anymore. I ask as i dont seem to get on with WM6.1 ROM and i still have a stock T-mobile UK ROM installed and i have to say its not very good lol.
If anyone is still making WM6 ROM's i would appreciate any links to these please. I tried a search but i never seem to find anything :S

My bet is no. Most people here are "power users" and "power users" are always looking ahead at the Next big thing. WM6.1 was/is that thing. It doesn't suck like Vista, so I doubt they will go back to the "old" WM6.0 But you could always keep your eye out. A Chef Might Release a WM6.0, but I personally wouldn't hold my breath.

Just go to the sticky FAQ (w/G.W.E.N.I.), choose 'cooked roms' en go to wm6.0 roms. There you will find some of the latest. And... next time please search & read .. At least the stickies.... Have fun.

help on the way, only just one word of advice, use the search function and read wiki as upgrading is one of the most asked and talked about subjects on this website.
you need to read this upgrading in bootloader guide in wiki

then you need to find a good WM6 ROM, you need to search the forum for this. there are plenty of threads for this.
personally im using the following rom, and i find it to be stable and usable.

TBH i never actually read the terms etc when i joined, but like most people i was told about search and wiki etc, thats why i didnt give a 'read wiki terms etc' reply like ive seen before and gave some sort of response i believe the OP was looking for, but then, im just too nice and wouldnt say boo to a ghost.

lol... I take my hat off to you, joey jojo, I just don't have the patience. I'm actually in counselling because of my short temper so I am trying I guess it's good that someone's steering these guys in the right direction, but sometimes I just wonder if they're ready to be heading in that particular direction if they don't know how to use a forum properly

i will agree with you on that one for sure.
the thing is though, and a reason for MS wanting xda-dev to take down all rom images is partially due to people not reading wiki and threads/post in the forum, failing the upgrade process and turning devices into bricks. then they go to operators with an expensive paperweight.
TBH upgrading if done in the correct way, is the easiest thing in the world, just a couple of clicks, 10 mins waiting and 30 mins playing with the new rom.
sorry for taking over the thread and changing the subject guys, but back on topic, UMAR74, you might want to try the following link, the latest WM6 rom i beleive, and after reading the thread, seems to be the fastest and has least memory leaks and hangs.

To put it simply, there is no best Rom for the Wizard and almost all latest releases are almost Bug Free. You're not going to find a perfect one but to decide which one is for you, you NEED to read.

Haha I just started last night. I am using my modified version of its right's TNT.1437 with a 10mb pagepool as a base and am just adding and removing as I please.
Seriously if I read one more thread answering "SEARCH THE FORUMS YOU IDIOT!" I'm gonna spontaneous combust!! I have searched the forums and you're the idiots because instead of finding any answers, I find 'search more'.
You know technology updates all the time right? What the hell is your big deal in just giving your opinion on what the best ROM is right now? It would probably take the same amount of keystrokes. I'm looking for an up-to-date answer.
So if you don't mind stop being an a**hole and contribute to the forums instead of making everyone go in circles.
Anyways, anybody have any suggestions for WM6? I like Faria's stuff for WM5 but it looks the same for his WM6. I would appreciate any feedback or experiences. And please lay off, I'm looking for answers not a fight. No hard feelings

Dude chill. EVERYONE gets the same answer when it comes to what rom is best. Its a matter of opinion.
Try TNT.1437 with the 10Mb pagepool. That's what I've been using for months and love it.

im a newbie here
ok basically heres what has happened
I had the Orange Uk Rom on my htc tytn2 which comes as standard from orange (iv had 2 replacements) lol
so i stayed away from installing a new rom or installing any new programs
So Today i installed The Mobile Vista rom by "Confused Stu"
I tried the media player which seems to not work, then i thought id test the incoming call ringtones and see if that works
I then thought its maybe my radio, so i installed Dutty's Official wm6.1 ROM
still hasnt solved the problem!!!

Did you do a reset soft or hard?
Also, you might try to reinstall the radio that is compatible. This has happened to me before and I installed the same radio that was in there and it fixed the problem for me.
His problem is that he has a Orange UK service. He'll need to read the radio thread to find out more info. Let's just leave him at that.
There is yet *ANOTHER* thread about this too... *SIGH*
ok iv installed the Original ORANGE UK ROM
the sound thingy is ok now working perfect
i want to install Dutty's Offical WM6.1
i have the following radio: 1.27.14.32
which radio is compatible with this rom???

Yup i did a soft reset and a Hard Reset but seems it didnt work
Eventually i went back to the original Orange Uk Rom
can anyone please let me know which radio or above i need to use Dutty's Offical wm6.1 rom????
_ALEX_ you're starting to sound like me. Calm down, take a deep breath and have a xanax. Those and a big jug of whiskey are the only things that seem to get me thru these threads at times. It will be ok, until 2 minutes from now when another damn thread with the same question will be started. Grin, sometimes it helps, sometimes it just makes it worse.

It doesn't matter which ROM you flash YOU have to use a RADIO that it's compatible WITH the ROM

Although I have been enjoying the pretty colors, as I'm sure you will agree this thread serves little purpose. The place to find the answer has been given here and many other places, so time to close the thread.

I recently upgraded to the official WWE 6.1 of HTC. Now I know that there's seems to be a lot of issues with it according to several threads.
I just wanted to know if anyone experienced this weird behavior...
When I try to send an SMS, OFTEN and it doesn't seems to happen when I do something in particular, my message CAN'T be sent, I have to retry a LEAST 3 times so that it's being sent successfully. I never experienced that with 6.0.
Would it be due to something special...? I've check my SMS service center number and it's fine.
Any ideas?

My question is:" Is there a program to open up ROM and extract/take what I like about that particular ROM, and added it to a different one".
So in a sense it is like cooking a ROM, by possibly merging two into one. I've also heard of porting a ROM, but not sure.

quick answer: no
HTC ROM Tool (do a Google search for more info) can do something similar, but most of the ROMs here cannot be extracted easily because of the techniques used in cooking them.
i would suggest picking up a kitchen and just cooking one up and seeing what you come up with

Your best bet is to cook your own rom. There are some great tut around. Josh and 2PC have a good one if you only search for it. There was one that was doing custom roms by request but not sure if he still is. Search around. And just a heads up before the likes of Stylez gets to you, search and ye shall find.
