the screen on my wing is cracked but the phone is still ticking underneath. i'm trying to access the phone. i read an earlier thread that suggested using my mobiler to do so. it sounds great except that i cant get my mobiler to connect to my phone after i install it. the link between the phone and the pc is good because windows mobile device center is working just fine. i thought it was the fact that i was running vista instead of xp but upon checking the my mobiler web site it appears that it should work on vista as well. i'm in dire straits without being able to access my phone so please help!!
When I plug my TyTN II to my laptop or pc, The active sync icon starts to lookup, but after 1/2 minits i get screen that it was failed to connect. I have this problem since trying WM5Storage. Does someone know how to fix it?? Cause I want to upgrade to dutty's newest rom.
Ps. It does sync with my exchange server but not local with a pc or laptop.
You should check if WM5 Storage is activate (left soft key in the program screen), if yes you should deactivate before connecting with ActiveSync.
I don't know if you have to restart the device, probably yes...
Ciao.
Ensure that usb advance connection tab is unchecked in connection settings,
also you can sync when using wm5torage so you have to disable probably have to restart both computer and device.
If it doesnt work un-install mobile device centre and re-install again, ensure you back up your pims first.
See if it works.
It seems wm5torage mess something up in your connections
let me know if those works
Dear Sir
This is the fastest rom I have ever had in Kasier, whilst the Xt9 did not work but I have deleted it. I noted no issues from the functions I used to use.
Good work!!

I too am having problems sync'ing my Tilt. When I go to uncheck the "advanced network functionalilty" in USB to PC, I get "Failed to disable RNDIS to use Serial"
Please help!
I found an answer after googling "Failed to disable RNDIS to use Serial", where someone mentions a bluetooth COM entry they found and deleted that solved it.
So, I look, find a COM entry from when I was playing with my (old) bluetooth GPS, deleted it, and now I'm able to uncheck the setting.
Now to see if I can finially sync with my PC...
Nope, can't establish a connection with my PC! I'm running Active Sync 4.5 on XP. I tried on Vista, only to learn that wont frigging work either. Any ideas?!

I am also having trouble with Vista...But I am able to have my Tilt Sync on Windows XP. I think I might have an issue just with Vista but it appears that yours may be phone related. Have you tried a hardreset on your device?

Did you find a fix yet?
Nope, I realy don't want to do a hard reset, but might friggin have to.
I was hoping to find another soloution.
I will say this, last time I was able to sync anything, it was my 8525 before I flashed a WM6 ROM, but I know it's not a WM6 - XP compatability issue, others here have no problems. I know Vista has issues, so I'm not even worried about that right now. My Tilt still has the factory ROM, and still others have the same setup with no problems. I can't tell you how mad I'll be if I do a hard reset and it still doesn't work!
Would be nice to be able to copy the pim.vol to/from the memory card and have Outlook be able to import the databases from it.
im having same issue with wm6 ever since flash but wing and mda still sync running wm5 think its some sort of hardware issue havent been able to find anything on it though if you figure it out please post..... by the way i tried hard reset didnt work

Unable to sync using USB...
When I sync using Bluetooth, all is fine & dandy. BUT. When I plug my Tytn II (MDA Vario III) into my USB port, it starts installing a new "Windows Mobile Remote Adapter" (I run Vista, with Vista SP1, BTW). This fails, with a message "The required registry key is missing"? I have tried removing any trace of Windows Mobile Device Center, reinstalling that, installed the MS driver update, no joy. Obviously,Vista being a Microsoft OS, it doesn't tell me WHAT THAT bloody registry key is/is suposed to be!!! Help?
i know i'm gonna get shouted for this, but i'm gonna ask anyway.
i'm fed up of trying to get touchflo to work properly, so i want to flash my phone to dutty's latest rom (deciding which of the 3 versions is the right one is another question!!)
however, i'm rather nervous about this and i dont want to brick my phone.
so exactly what set of instructions do i need to follow???
yes i know its probably been asked before, but i'm asking for 1 concise answer, not a rollocking.
many thanks
Check the following thread and follow the instructions to CID-unlock your device:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334679
Then download the ROM of your choice and flash it by running the contained executable. Follow the instructions of the flashing tool and everything will be fine.
heart in mouth i just tried that and it dosent work for me.
i'm using vista here, so rather than using active sync, i use sync centre, so while the phone goes the right colours with usb on, and it finds a new driver, but sync centre is still green.
am i going to have to do this on a XP machine, or do i not have to worry about sync centre going grey?

You can use Vista, but it requires a few more steps (Vista Security Center) I suggest using a XP if your starting off
ok, will have a go now i'm at home with XP
thanks for the advice
BTW, can i get away without having activesync installed, or do i need it for the USB drivers?
You have to have Activesync installed. You don't have to create a partnership, but it does have to connect to activesync first.
I posted the following item in the "Beginners instructions thread" last week, but only one person has responded. I am trying to repost again in the hope that more people will see it and that someone will have experienced this previously:-
I have read countless threads on this site and have finally decided to upgrade my O2 XDA from WM5 to WM6.
I have found the instructions for doing this, but have fallen at the first hurdle.
The mobile update utility cannot connect to my Wizard, (error 222). I am still able to sync with active sync, so my pda is seeing and being seen by the pc.
Is there anything that I can do to at least get started please?
P.S. I have tried downloading lokiwiz, but that doesn't work either. I tried searching google for it, but that only brings me back to this site.
Is it actually possible to upgrade or am I missing something really stupid?
P.P.S
I have now done a hard reset. The only thing that I have changed is the date and time. This is now an O2 Exec, completely as it came out of the factory. I am using Active Sync 4.5. Why can I not connect to the button rom?
im not too sure what your issue is but i think you will get an answer on ppcgeeks.com. i use this site and that one. you have a lot of experts between the 2 sites
Thanks aman1127, my main problem is that the mobile update utility cannot connect to my Wizard, (error 222). I am still able to sync with active sync, so my pda is seeing and being seen by the pc.
I have read all the warnings about turning your Wizard into a brick, I can't even get it to do that!
I have checked the help tab on the Mobile Updat Utility, but that gives me "error 404"
Is there a proper way to upgrade my device using software and instructions that are up to date?
I'll have a look at the other site as well. Many thanks for your help.
Hi all, I have been running into a little bit of a problem and I wondered if somebody might have an idea or could point me in the right direction. I'm usually fairly adept at using google search and searching XDA and other forums and finding what I need but I have run into an issue I can't seem to find much info for.
Using the PPC Kitchen interface I assembled a rom for my sisters Titan. I have done this many times on my own Apache with great success. I went through added the things I thought she needed and everything went off with out a hitch. I used the 6.5 base and built on that. Everything works great. Except...
There were some other things on my phone that she has asked me to put on her phone. So no big deal I can just make up something new for her and flash her phone again. The problem is with connecting via USB. Both windows XP pro and Vista Ultimate say "the usb device has malfunctioned" or "the usb device is not recognized" No matter what settings I try on the nuemassstorage popup it does not seem to want to connect. Always the same error. I'm not sure how to get past this step though because I cannot seem to connect.
Any diagnostic ideas or info would be greatly appreciated. I can post whatever other info may be needed as well that would help.
Thanks
