Country code + VOIP - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

Hi,
Tried to find the answer using search button, but no luck..
Maybe someone knows how to dial via VOIP the numbers I have stored in my Kaiser's address book. It's stored in "+48 xxx xxx xxx" format. VOIP client recognizes only "0xxx xxx xxx". With country code it says that the number is invalid.
Any idea how to solve the problem?
thx,
Jay

I am not sure if this is useful or not. The International code for dialing out from all countries beside USA is 00. The International code for dialing out from USA is 011. This code is used in-front of the Country code, thus the + sign, denoting the International code.
Try using "0048 xxx xxx xxx" for "+48 xxx xxx xxx" and see if it is helpful. If not then try "01148 xxx xxx xxx"
The first number is dialing out from all countries, the last number is dialing out from the USA.
Hope the above is helpful.

Actually, the problem is not with knowing the country code. The problem is with the format VOIP needs it. When I dial the number directly from the dialpad (with prefix"00" instead of "+") it's OK. I have more than 1000 contacts in address book and it would be hard to me to change "+" into "00" for each entry. Maybe there's a way to set dialing pattern (or plan) to somehow convert "+" into "00" ?

You are right that the format "+" should automatically change to the International code of that country you are dialing from. If you are dialing from USA, the format "+" should automatically change to 011. If you are dialing from the rest of the world, the format "+" automatically change to 00. In Skype you have to select the country you are dialing from.
Sorry, couldn't be much help!

+ to <international dial code>
I believe that dialplan.xml, distributed along with various voip.cab(s), is responsible for this "+ to <adequate international code>" conversion (judging by what I have saw in dialplan.xml file). I believe it should reside in \windows directory. On the other hand, I didn't managed to find any doc on dialplan.xml so this is just a hunch.

I'm using following ipdialplan.xml:
Code:
<dialplan xmlns='http://schemas.microsoft.com/embedded/VoIP'>
<dialplan-header>
<host>#use_sipsrv_host_name#</host>
</dialplan-header>
<!-- Dial Plan rules -->
<!-- IP address rules -->
[B]<rule pattern='\+(\d+)'
dial='sip:00\[email protected]$host$'
display='+\1'
transfer='sip:00\[email protected]$host$'
/>[/B]
</dialplan>
I think you have to soft restart device after applying it

XDA II and PC database Synch Problems

I have recently been converted to the XDA from a P900 and the difference is amazing!
However, when I synch my database down to the XDA, UK numbers are sent in the format;
+44 (0161) 123456
So when I press on a contact, it dials a wrong number. :evil:
I can't tell the XDA not to dial the international portion of the number....
o2 very unhelpful, as are Microsoft.
Does anyone know of a fix for this?

Hey Rob,
Usually when you dial a number via cell line the number is comprised of country code + area code + subscriber number, so the number you provided is ok & you will not be charged as for international calls even though you are using the international prefixes
But if you still want to use short numbers then you will need to store the short numbers in the contacts
Is this what you were asking about?
Hi Robbie,
don´t use the leading "0" in the area code if you use country code.

contacts and dialling

Hi,
i have all my contact numbers saved as they are locally ie. in the uk 07xxxxx i've recently went to egypt on holiday and found that i could not dial the numbers directly even though i changed my time zone to "visiting Egypt" under settings ( for some odd reason i assumed that my ppc would be smart enough and change the dialing code automatically) I have to change the number and add +44 to every number i dial. is there a better way of storing and dialing numbers other than going through my contacts adding country codes
thanks in advance
I think Paul from Modaco once wrote an app to update all contacts thuswise automatically; however, I haven't seen the program for a few years, you could try asking him for a copy if you get stuck.

WM6.1 Contacts - How to search for telephone number?

Hello,
WM5 supported looking up contacts by telephone number.
WM6.1 doesnt.
In WM5 you have "Enter a name or number..."
In WM6.1 it is "Enter a name..."
Anybody know, how to enable search by telephone number in WM6.1?
BR Robert
i am havving the same issue here as well, any idea? do i need to enable the voice command calling to enable this feature or soemthing?
Looks like its possible still to search for a number by entering telephone mode with green key and enter number there.
Can anyone approve this?

yep, WM6 seems to have this feature, although it seems not to have any logic.. when i know, my girlfriends number is like xxx-xxxx and it's saved there in the memory, it doesn't bring it to me when typing the number.. instead it shows some other contacts..
i mean.. what? does it except only first five digits and shows the results of first three contacts in alphabetic order that has those matching five digits..? please advice..?
EDIT: the best way would be, if man could simply search with a number straight from the contacts. just like in WM5.
I got it, the number can be searched on the Telephone mode by entering the EXACT number.. This means Country Code aswell!.. Boaargh...
Just use the search in start menu. It was there since wm2003. You can search with any data in a contact; name, TP#, email, address.......

caller ID (name and number)

Hello,
I'm with Fido and I've subscribed to their package that includes caller ID (phone and name). The name part of the called ID doesn't work on my tilt, it would just show me the number. I tried dutty's ROM and L26_KaiserDiamond_V9, they both show the same thing. Is there a way to fix that issue?
thank you
just add the name/number into your address book. it will show the name.

yeah, however, names that are not available on my address book wouldn't show... Most of my incoming calls are from people that are not available in my address book...

That's how Caller ID works for Cell phones, Number only. You get the name only if it matches a contact in your phone.

when I put my SIM card into a "fido" phone, it actually puts the name and number of the caller even if it is not in the address book

maybe that is the "name display" feature instead?
yes that's what's called
try to use +1(000)000-0000 format in your address book. As for showing the name, i believe it only happens if you get a call from the same area code as yourself, otherwise you just get hte name of the state the call is coming from or the person's name from your address book.
Just to clarify for you guys.
Name Display is a service offered by Rogers/Fido in Canada.
This service shows the name of the person calling and their phone number, even if they are not in your phone book.
Now....to fix the problem....you can try the Rogers test rom for the Tytn II. That should give you name display, but it's an old build. Or, you can search the forums and see what you find.

can any MODer(s) extract the info needed for name display to work from Rogers or Fido ROM.
There's actually a registry entry. Rogers phones that have it also read name info sent out by the carrier on Fido.
Search:
Rogers "name display" registry
Post back if it worked for Kaiser/Fido.

that registry edit only works for S621, it doesn't work for Kaiser.
So far nobody can figure out how to extract that feature (not a simple registry edit). In kaiser rogers test rom, there's no such registry regarding name display. Yet it shows the name when the phone rings. Our suspicion is that it's encoded in some of the core files.

Call with auto Country Code prefix

I've searched through the whole phone for this option, but I can't find anything.
I don't see incoming call with a country code. So if I save them to my contacts they are also stored without the country code. As long as I stay in my own country that's no problem, but when I'm in a foreign country I can't dial a person without changing the number manually.
Is it possible to show the incomming calls with a country code?
if not, is it possible to automatically add a country code when I dial a number from my contacts?
Save you contacts like this
+cc xxxxxxxxxx
CC: country code (36 for Hungary)
xxx: the local number
+36 1 1234567
CC | local number
area code
I know that's one option, but then I have to edit my contacts one by one. And if I want to store new ones, I also have to edit them. Isn't there another way?
Perhaps you can write this application... but using the desktop version of the outlook, the 1-by-1 editing process can be greatly sped up...
All is written by gnick666...
AFAIK, only way is to edit contacts adding country code manually.
I have not yet seen network operator who is using country code in caller ID...
On the other hand, I'm lucky that most of my contacts are outside my country, so country code is automatically added...
