I've searched through the whole phone for this option, but I can't find anything.
I don't see incoming call with a country code. So if I save them to my contacts they are also stored without the country code. As long as I stay in my own country that's no problem, but when I'm in a foreign country I can't dial a person without changing the number manually.
Is it possible to show the incomming calls with a country code?
if not, is it possible to automatically add a country code when I dial a number from my contacts?
Save you contacts like this
+cc xxxxxxxxxx
CC: country code (36 for Hungary)
xxx: the local number
+36 1 1234567
CC | local number
area code
I know that's one option, but then I have to edit my contacts one by one. And if I want to store new ones, I also have to edit them. Isn't there another way?
Perhaps you can write this application... but using the desktop version of the outlook, the 1-by-1 editing process can be greatly sped up...
All is written by gnick666...
AFAIK, only way is to edit contacts adding country code manually.
I have not yet seen network operator who is using country code in caller ID...
On the other hand, I'm lucky that most of my contacts are outside my country, so country code is automatically added...

I have recently been converted to the XDA from a P900 and the difference is amazing!
However, when I synch my database down to the XDA, UK numbers are sent in the format;
+44 (0161) 123456
So when I press on a contact, it dials a wrong number. :evil:
I can't tell the XDA not to dial the international portion of the number....
o2 very unhelpful, as are Microsoft.
Does anyone know of a fix for this?

Hey Rob,
Usually when you dial a number via cell line the number is comprised of country code + area code + subscriber number, so the number you provided is ok & you will not be charged as for international calls even though you are using the international prefixes
But if you still want to use short numbers then you will need to store the short numbers in the contacts
Is this what you were asking about?
Hi Robbie,
don´t use the leading "0" in the area code if you use country code.

Hi,
i have all my contact numbers saved as they are locally ie. in the uk 07xxxxx i've recently went to egypt on holiday and found that i could not dial the numbers directly even though i changed my time zone to "visiting Egypt" under settings ( for some odd reason i assumed that my ppc would be smart enough and change the dialing code automatically) I have to change the number and add +44 to every number i dial. is there a better way of storing and dialing numbers other than going through my contacts adding country codes
thanks in advance
I think Paul from Modaco once wrote an app to update all contacts thuswise automatically; however, I haven't seen the program for a few years, you could try asking him for a copy if you get stuck.

Hi,
Tried to find the answer using search button, but no luck..
Maybe someone knows how to dial via VOIP the numbers I have stored in my Kaiser's address book. It's stored in "+48 xxx xxx xxx" format. VOIP client recognizes only "0xxx xxx xxx". With country code it says that the number is invalid.
Any idea how to solve the problem?
thx,
Jay
I am not sure if this is useful or not. The International code for dialing out from all countries beside USA is 00. The International code for dialing out from USA is 011. This code is used in-front of the Country code, thus the + sign, denoting the International code.
Try using "0048 xxx xxx xxx" for "+48 xxx xxx xxx" and see if it is helpful. If not then try "01148 xxx xxx xxx"
The first number is dialing out from all countries, the last number is dialing out from the USA.
Hope the above is helpful.
KOR!
Actually, the problem is not with knowing the country code. The problem is with the format VOIP needs it. When I dial the number directly from the dialpad (with prefix"00" instead of "+") it's OK. I have more than 1000 contacts in address book and it would be hard to me to change "+" into "00" for each entry. Maybe there's a way to set dialing pattern (or plan) to somehow convert "+" into "00" ?

You are right that the format "+" should automatically change to the International code of that country you are dialing from. If you are dialing from USA, the format "+" should automatically change to 011. If you are dialing from the rest of the world, the format "+" automatically change to 00. In Skype you have to select the country you are dialing from.
Sorry, couldn't be much help!

+ to <international dial code>
I believe that dialplan.xml, distributed along with various voip.cab(s), is responsible for this "+ to <adequate international code>" conversion (judging by what I have saw in dialplan.xml file). I believe it should reside in \windows directory. On the other hand, I didn't managed to find any doc on dialplan.xml so this is just a hunch.

I'm using following ipdialplan.xml:
Code:
<dialplan xmlns='http://schemas.microsoft.com/embedded/VoIP'>
<dialplan-header>
<host>#use_sipsrv_host_name#</host>
</dialplan-header>
<!-- Dial Plan rules -->
<!-- IP address rules -->
[B]<rule pattern='\+(\d+)'
dial='sip:00\[email protected]$host$'
display='+\1'
transfer='sip:00\[email protected]$host$'
/>[/B]
</dialplan>
I think you have to soft restart device after applying it
Huawei TAGAL00(Enjoy5s) Contact name not recognisez on caller screen but shows number
Hi I have purchased a "Huawei Enjoy5s" in China.
MODEL NUMBER: HUAWEI TAG-AL00
BUILD NUMBER: TAG-AL00C00B124
ANDROID 5.1 KERNEL: 3.10.65
EMOTION UI VERSION: 3.1 LITE
The phone was running fine on 'chinese sim card'.
But I moved to a new country, I use a 'local sim card' i.e. a sim card from a carrier in the new country.
I have noticed that when I use the 'local sim card', the phone does not show the name of local contacts during incoming calls.
Instead it shows
1.Number of the contact: xxxx-xxxx (please note, the number is a local number and is displayed without the 'country code'.)
2.contact name: unknown. (please note, in my phone book, the contact has the number stored with the country code ie +230xxxx-xxxx)
3.Name of the district the call is from or 'Mobile' in case of call from mobiles.
I have tried to remove the country code in the phonebook and the contact name appears on the incoming call screen. But then the contact name disappears from SMS in messaging screen and shows number only. (note that the sms shows number with country code ie +230xxxx-xxxx).
Please note that in the phone book, when you select the contact, all call history for that contact are recognised irrespective of being with or without country code.
BUT under the call history of the dialer, the numbers are not recognised unless the contact has the number stored with the country code.
I believe
the phone app is unable to match the number to that stored under contacts unless it is exactly the same ie without country code
V/S
the messaging app that is unable to match the number to that stored under contacts unless it is with the country code.
Is there a patch or variable to change in system file to fix this?
I have cleared data from (2 phone apps being a dual sim, contacts phonebook, contacts storage, phone/messaging storage) and reloaded my contacts from vcf file or from google account but still no success.
-I have tried to look for alternative apps to replace the "phone/dialer/incoming-caller-screen" app but again this is not possible due to huawei launcher.
-I have also been able to install google play services framework and gapps successfully but it did not solve the number-contacts problem.
-
I have even tried edit build.prop under system with build.prop editor and saved, reboot, cleared data, resyn, but no success. I modified only "ro.config.hwft_MatchNum=11" to "=7" as my skill are limited. (I have read you can modify boot.img 's build.prop file but I dont know if it will work and have not tried it and dont know how to do it.)
-I then updated the firmware to BUILD NUMBER: TAG-AL00C00B156 but no success for the problem.
Now I am back to firmware BUILD NUMBER: TAG-AL00C00B124.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is there a patch or variable to change in system file to fix this?
Can anyone tell me how to decompile, edit and recompile system file like telephony or others that will solve matter?
I have come across another post where I have realised that Huawei makes a similar model( huawei GR3 but has no fingerprint feature). This makes me believe that Huawei Tag-al00 has a Chinese android 5.1 firmware set to the Asia/China region. And its highly likely that I won't find a custom ROM to fix the bug as most users in china won't experience this issue unless they are abroad. I am even more determined to find out what needs to be edited in system files, so others can do the same safely.
I found this thread and would like to know it can be used on TAG-AL00. By @C3C076.

great decision to uninstall and reinstall it again but you need to make sure you backup all your contact or just automatically synch contact to your linked google account

Hello, I got exactly the same issue as your!!
I also got a phone from Hong Kong, so Hong Kong Samsung version, plus most of my contact are saved with inficatif, for messaging app like WhatsApp.
As you described the issue, if any local phone call me, it only display the phone number, not the name of the contact, while the name and the number being saved in Contact app.
I tried to remove the indicatif of a contact and save it as it, this time the name is shown when I get a called, but in messaging app like WhatsApp, this test contact got no more name, only the number is shown in front of its chat. Any additional solution since ??
Thx
