Tilt Keyboard Issue with Non-AT&T ROM (tried the fix) - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

After I flash my Tilt with a Non-AT&T Rom, the keyboard is messed up especially the Function keys (they get reverted to the kaiser keys instead of the tilt keys)
Now, I have tried all the fixes including the Tilt Keyboard Fix, Disabling XT9, etc etc but that problem never gets resolved.
I have noticed that whenever I do a soft reset, all the settings get reset on the tilt for some reason because the stupid notification asking me to configure network settings via OTA comes back up even through I disable it, is that what's causing the keyboard not getting fixed or something else?
please help, thanks.

Rom Specific
Sometimes the issue is ROM specific.
Which custom ROM are you using?
if you apply both the tilt keyboard fix and use another utility to change your keyboard, you will have problems.
If you chose not to read at least be more specific and you might get some help.
you are not the first person to have this problem with their tilt.

you are correct, here is what I did:
Had original AT&T Rom
Flashed HTC 6.1 ROM, keyboard was not working, applied patch, keyboard still not working
Flashed Dutty's April 17 Fix ROM, keyboard was not working, applied patch, keybaord still not working.
Flashed to TNT Official ROM, keyboard not working, applied the patch, keyboard is now working
now maybe I will try to go back to the HTC Windows Mobile ROM and see if the issue is now resolved.
It seems like the first time I flashed the device caused some issues.
I am not sure what you meant about reading or being specific if not reading....I did read all the forums and searched but couldn't find the solution, maybe I missed the post where it's mentioned that this could be ROM specific issue.

Please try searching the thread where this ROM was originally posted for answers, prior to posting this question in that thread.
In the future, please try to reply to an existing thread before creating a new one, especially in the ROM development forum.

Exactly what I would recommend. Good post sunstorm!
i will try and i will tell u...thnx
after the hardreset ,,every things is ok....for one day ,ido him softreset the same problem back...do i have to go back to the old rom or what ....
Hi sayyas,
maybe you might want to post a list of apps which you have installed on top of Dutty's V3. I'm sure that somebody will come along with prior experience with the same or similar app list and tell you about the necessary rectifications necessary for the apps and the rom to function properly. I'm suspecting a simple case of conflict in installed apps?
For instance, did you try to install the latest version of HTC Home on top of the one installed with the rom? I know that it will take a bit of tweaking and a dll replacement before the necessary verification checks are bypassed for the plugin to work on the kaiser as the latest version was actually written for the polaris, iirc. that being said, the mentioned app is just one of my experiences and seriously, an issue separate from Dutty's finely cooked rom.
hope this will help us to help you.

Most current AT&T Tilt ROM?

I'm having trouble with my Tilt (it recently started being randomly unresponsive to commands (15-20 second lag some times). Is there going to be a new AT&T 6.1 official ROM with updated drivers? My device has the 8-25-07 ROM date, and before I decide what to do I'm checking on the status of official AT&T releases.
No, as far as I know, there isn't an official one yet. However, a lot of the cooked ROMs on this site will probably fix your problem.
If you can't wait for the official ATT WM6.1 release then you could try their latest WM6.0 release http://www.htc.com/us/FAQ_Detail.aspx?p_id=67&act=sd or as mentioned, could try a cooked ROM.
upgrade ur hardspl and the lags/freezes will be gone.

Looks like he is still using an old Stock ATT Tilt ROM (WM 6.0), so that is not likely the issue.
@ gmfeld. If you have had your Tilt for a quote some time, it is possible that you simply have some junk, or orphaned registry settings, or something slowing your system down.
I would recommend either upgrading your ROM to the latest Stock ATT Tilt ROM (as posted above), or simply doing a Hard Reset to get your current ROM back to its original state. Of course, do a BACKUP before you do anything that involves Hard Reset or Flashing!!!1
I just got my tilt and I think I have a newer official version.
It is
ROM 1.62.502.0
Date 01/17/08
Radio 1.27.14.09
I've noticed it has a bluetooth headset issue (not sure if it is exclusive to mine) where it will end the call, but won't hang up in the phone program.
gmfeld & vanisher,
I would suggest you at least run PPCPimBackup then a hard reset. If you have a little time this weekend you should read through G.W.E.N.I. then flash a nice cooked ROM. Play with your device and post educated questions in the proper threads. You WILL appreciate your device more than you ever did...guaranteed.

The above is a noob success story. I would recommend you go the same ROM route as he did as for starters.
There is no official AT&T WM6.1 ROM yet, but we're getting there.
Check the shipped ROMs section on the wiki to see how new / old your ROM is.

Thanks to all for all the suggestions. I've been running SKTools, so I'm pretty sure I've gotten rid of all the junk and orphaned registry settings, etc.
I agree with all that I need to flash a new ROM, or reflash my original ROM, that's the only thing left to do to clean up my Tilt. Just trying to get some info on when or if a new official AT&T 6.1 ROM is to be released, so I don't go through that process twice. If I knew that its a ways off, I will probably then go with one of the cooked ROMS now.

Is there anywhere I can get the HTC S710 BT Mobile Rom?

I've tried srerching the boards to no avail but I was wondering if there were any downoad links to restore a HTC S710 back to the original BT mobile rom?
Thanks for any help.
EDIT-
I am asking for this as I have flashed her S710 with a different rom and it seems to have developed a fault where it has started vibrating randomly. She's had it for months and its worked fine up until now.
I don't think there is such a ROM. It's some base ROM and than BT stuff is added to it.
check this out: http://bt.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/bt.c...346&cat_lvl2=1265&p_cv=2.1265&p_cats=346,1265
Check out the vibrations. they might not be random. they might be due to some software or script. (unless you have already checked and ruled out this option)

Yes look if there are around files with *.mscr extension, maybe in the /Windows/Startup folder
Here is the link where you can restore to BT settings.

Andy.

Chazam - did you ever get to the bottom of this. As i see it the link above only gives you the additional BT Braodband-Anywhere software which you load on top of a base ROM, and i think that it is the Base ROM you are after. the reason i ask is that I want to flash my S710 with one of the cooked ROMs on this forum, but like you if i need to send it back to BT i need to restore it back to it's factory default?
Does anyone know if it possible to extract the original ROM and then flash it back in the future? (probably not as simple as that but i can only ask????

Audio loss on 8925

Flashed Schaps_WM6Pro_Kaiser_4.30_WWE_Full.exe to my phone had zero issuse flashing the new rom. Phone seemed to work normally until i found that i had no audio from any source even tried the ear bud and found not audio there either. Tried resetting the phone with no change. Finally flashed the ATT rom back onto the phone and what worked just fine. Tried to flash the Schaps rom again and had the same issuse. HELP i like the Schaps ROMS i had a 8525 with Schaps on it and had very like problems with it.

Why not ask in that ROM's thread?
First off it might be better to post in the thread of who's ever rom you are using. That way you don't spam up the board.
You might want to check the rom and make sure it includes a radio. If not you'll have to flash one that is compatible with you rom. Hope that helps a little.
Doesn't warrant a new thread, especially since it sound like the old "I'm using Wm6.0 Radio with WM6.1 Rom" Known Audio Issue.
Thread closed, you know where to go now.

[Q] SGS black screen and have to remove battery..any ideas??

my GF has a SGS I9000...i updated her via Kies to the latest firmware because it was performing like crap. The update fixed that but every now and again it stops responding and the screen goes black...lights are still working on the buttons.
You can't power it off with the power button and the only way to fix it is to remove the battery. I've just updated her the the latest ROM from XDA for the SGS from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881 XWJVZ/XXJVT/OXXJV9/Sbl (MultiCSC) but it still does it...any ideas??
I've seen a few posts but no fixes..any ideas...HW vs. SW..was fine before the updates.

First thing to do is isolate the problem as a hardware or software one. Simple task: flash stock, and see if it happens. If it does, you know it's hardware.
If it isn't, ask the developer (if it's a custom rom), or post under the appropriate phone of the forum. Chances are, if it is software, someone else with the same device has had it before.

Tried a stock ROM straight from the Telco, now flashed to a stock ROM from XDA. Happening on 2 phones, both SG2 i9000. Both have different ROMS from different Telco's both were fine before the latest ROM updates.
One appears better with the latest official stock ROM from XDA but just monitoring it at the moment...just wanted to know if it was a know issue before spending too much time on it
