I am from slovakia and I use O2 as my operator. How can I set up the internet that I can receive wheather information in soft like PointUI or touch commander.
What does it cost ?
Is it expensive to download these wheather data?
I am a complete noob in things about mobile internet. Never use it

common people, help me. Do you guys using wap or gprs to receive whether forecast?
unsure about o2 in your country but connecting to the WAP is pretty easy if your phone is set up for it they probably charge by data transfer and your tariff will have the information you need.
btw I had to call the help care line so they could send me all the connection info to connect my phone to the net as it never had the information on it when i bought it

Here is an sms I received yesterday.
O2: Using Mobile Internet via GPRS is FREE until June 10th 2004. For info on New Mobile Internet charges from 10th June call 2202 free from your mobile.
It seems it will be costing about £2.50 per megabyte for full gprs internet access.

I spoke to Technical Support about it yestersay, and they were Adamant that the PAYG service was still only WAP and MMS, and tests seem to confirm this!
Yes it is £2.50 a Mb, but will not allow full Internet access on the XDA,

You should be able to configure the device by choosing from the Active screen - My XDA, Connections, chose Pre-paid, GPRS, UK, Finish. This should then restart with the correct settings.

I have had my PDA Universal now for a week. I have changed it to GSM so it doesnt go onto GPRS, and give me a huge bill. I only want to connect via Wi-fi and only when the Wifi is available so that is not a problem.
What I would like to know is, when I connect via Wi-fi, either in my house, work or Uni, there is no cost by the GSM Service Provider, which is O2 in this case.
Another question is I have changed the setting to dial a 0845 (national rate) number in England for a internet connection when I am desparate, but will I get charged the Mobile network rate for an 0845 number or will this be treated as a data transfer and at a different rate?

i tried out hsdpa/3g for the first time last night by turning on data connection in comms manager .. but all i got was errors when dialing? do i need to input anything in the proxy/modem connection settings?

just rang o2 who said the HTC phones likewise blackberry phones are not compatible with O2 payg for internet servies :S i asked why they were then find for contract but was told that there are difference settings for payg/contracts which will only work with the appropriate sim. ... what can I do now? Is this going to be the same for all network's payg options?
please help ... anyone who is on a payg contract wth a sim free raphael or with any other suggestions.

thats a lot of rubbish!
go to settings >connections> ad new connection
use payandgo.o2.co.uk (or payasyougo.o2.co.uk dont remember) as acces point, payandgo as user password as paswword . thats it. if it doesnt connect use 193.113.200.195:8080 as proxy
i have to say that i've got terrible connection with o2 3g! keeps catting connection to the net (not actual connection) you have to disconnect anc connect again. i dont know if it is network or phone
I just buyed Touch Pro / Raphael from vodafone with or without branding, I am not sure, because I paid full price without provision and vodafone hotline told me that they do not have something blocked.
At the moment I need to use it with my t-mobile sim card until I could move with my number to vodafone.
I can do phone calls and also can receive emails from a pop3 account, after I received a sms from t-mobile with "correct" internet settings,
but I am not able to start eighter internet explorer or opera to get internet access. When I download my emails, it seems to be connected trough t-mobile roaming partner etisalat. Crazy.
When I use a prepaid vodafone sim card, opera will run, of course I changed back to vodafone settings.
My problem is that I need support, because I am on a business trip in dubai and need to have internet access with my phone, otherwise I need to ask someone in the lobby to use his connection.
Do I need something like supercid or what is the reason for that??

dont really understand your problem...
but, you either have your device set to raoming or you are out side of tmobile coverage and it austomatically puts you onto the roaming carrier. this roaming carrier may be blocking data...
I also do not understand that issue. Roaming is working, also with data, because I tried to get access with a umts card from someone else.
Could this be a question branding and what is to do to recover it? Sometime ago you could do this yourselve (for my old wizard), but meanwhile it looks only like earning money, right?

Hi I have a Samsung Omnia i900 and am really wanting to make calls through my internet connection since I am roaming now and vodaphone wont let me make any calls...I searched this website and am very confused on what to download and what not to download....should i download wmwifirouter? or fring? any help on where to begin and what to download would be greatly appreciated...thanx and my bad for being a newb...
You will still get roaming data charges more than likely so you may want to look into that. Windows mobile wifi router only allows you to broadcast your phones internet connection through your wifi.
You need something like skype. (or fring)
