Hello Friends,
I have been actively using Various ROMs in this section of the forum. I have flased almost each one of them and love them all.
I recently installed PDACorner ultimate v19 and it was working fine. I loved it.
However, today I faced strange problem. My touch screen stopped working. So I tried to realign it and it wasn't working at all. i could use the hardware buttons, but not the touch screen.
I did a hard reset and then my mobile stuck at the screen where it asks to "tap to continue".
and i could do nothing now.
Then i flashed the Simple OS to it and again the same problem. I dont know how to proceed now?
Is there any way to get through the initial touch screen condition which says "tap here to continue" ? My phone is within the warranty period but cant get it sent back due to unlocking thingy i did. Is reverting it back to the original condition possible without involving the touch screen ?
Please help me.
Thank parleyp for this.

Should now be able to get back to a returnable state.

Yes you can revert without the touch screen..you can flash the stock rom via usb or sd card and then you can change to stock spl either via usb using sspl since you now know what to do to avoid the alignment screen or sd card using cmonex's tools.
FYI--welcome.not is the name you need to give to a blank file and put it on the root of the sd card. Make sure it has no extension.
I had to put mine back to stock without the usb cable since my usp port shorted last week.
Hello, my friend.
Sadly, my Kaiser has the same problem since past september, and then send it back to Houston, Tx for repair and they tell me the flash memory has ben corrupted, and just like you i try different ROM's and one day the touchscreen fail after used a Rom from ROMeOS. The only solution its change the mobo and then use an official ROM before flash a custom one.
Fortunately, Mr. Pedro Gonzalez (HTC Technical Support Manager), give me a hand and my phone was considered in warranty, so the repair was a kind present from HTC. Thank you again, Mr. Gonzalez !!!! My advice is if you still have warranty, use it.
Good luck with your Kaiser!!!
Sorry for my poor english.
Regards.
Thanks a lot

Thanks a ton Parleyp for your support and making this forum richer. I will keep in touch with you coz i am fearing the fact that will my phone be completely reverted back to the original situation or not? I have to see the related thread for this and i will keep in touch.
Thanks for the helping hand.

Reverted back to the locked State
I used the following thread:
Updated: Reverting back to the AT&T or HTC ROM and SPL for Warranty or return
and the Idiots guide to revert my phone back to the original state. I had to try JumpSPL1.93-KAIS.exe instead of the regular version.
I guess I am done with this part now.
Thanks a ton to you guys. Lets see what AT&T guys have to say about this?
A quick question...

Just a quick question? How do i make sure that my phone is locked and its now under warranty? Is there any software available that can provide us this information? I am sorry if it sounds like a noobs question but i really dont know how to check this before sending it back?
when your phone is off press the camera and the power button at the same time.
Make sure your phone doesnt say "Security Unlocked" at the top or at the bottom right corner it doesnt say Hard-SPL (insert number here) but that its says just "SPL (insert number here) "

Thanks a lot for the reply but I think that i am missing something... I did the following:
1. Turned off the phone.
2. Pressed the camera button and held it there while i pressed the power button (holding both buttons).
But the device started as usual. And i could not see the any such display. The display was the same as if i would have pressed just the power button. Is it possible for you to provide a screen shot of this?
My bad!
Whoopss! I tried it again, and i got the tri color screen which says following three lines in the red strip:
KAIS1*0
SPL-1.56.0000
CPLD-8
and following word in the white strip:
Serial
I hope it is fine now?
I got my new Tilt
I got MY new Tilt!
I am Happy
welcome.not
just simply create a 'welcome.not' file on windows open notepad then save it w/out content filename welcome.not make sure that the extention in not welcome.not.txt otherwise it wont work...put the file to sd card root then hard reset by pressing the power button for 10 second then boot again after about 5-10 seconds for safety....gudluck hope this could help you!!

Depending on what happened, it's a yes/no situation. What did you do?
Try this:
get into bootloader mode (tri-color screen): Take out the battery for one minute. Put it back in. Getting into bootloader mode is done by holding the Volume down button while you do a press/release of the Reset button. OR hold the Volume down button while you do a press/release of the Power button.
That should get you to bootloader mode. Now, plug in your USB to the PC. Flash a CDMA ROM from there by running the .exe. If you cannot do that, transfer the .nbh file (rename it to "RHODIMG.nbh" [no quotes]) and follow these instructions.
Good luck, and happy new year!
*The majority of the CDMA ROMs can be found at PPCGeeks*

Well, this forum is for CDMA TP2s, but I'll help.
So you took out the battery for at least one minute? Then you put it back in. Get into bootloader mode (T-Mobile version: phone is off, hold the Volume Down button while you press/release the Power Button. Keep holding the Volume Down button until the colorful screen shows up).
When you're in bootloader, plug in your TP2 to your PC. Now run the .exe of a GSM ROM and follow the steps, as if your phone is synced to the PC. (aka flash as you would usually do).
To flash via the Storage Card: On your PC, go to Start > My Computer > Removable Disk drive (something like that; make sure this is your phone's Storage Card). Drag the .nbh of a GSM ROM there. Rename the .nbh "RHODIMG.nbh" (no quotes). Unplug your Phone. Take out the battery again for one minute. Now, go back into bootloader (hold Volume Down button and press/release Power button [keep holding the Volume Down button]). Follow the steps to flash the phone.
Good luck.

You did exactly the reverse of what I did, and the instructions already given are how I resolved it: put it in bootloader and flash a compatible ROM. I flashed a stock ROM just to be sure, but that's probably not needed.

See if you can do a hard-reset right now. While phone is off (which it is), press and hold Talk/Send, End, and Power button at the same time. Wait for a screen to pop-up. Follow steps to hard reset. That will bring it back to factory defaults.
If it doesn't work, maybe you could post your question on PPCGeeks, where a lot of CDMA people go. They might be able to help you.
Can you Unbrick a Touch Pro 2
Hi to all,
I'm a new here and a little desperate . I flashed my rom by using a raphael update instead of Rhodium. My phone got bricked. My phone is a Sprint HTC touch pro 2.
At the moment, it will not boot, when I plug it to my computer and it was looking for qualcomm cdma MSM drivers.
I tried sof and hardware reset including the boot loader. Nothing works. I also tried using different RUUs. Nothing works. I hope somebody can help me.
Fixed the problem...bought an android...ha,ha...

Well if you can power it on, and go to bootloader, then your phone is just fine. Just flash a Rhodium ROM.
I suggest take battery out, and put it back in after few seconds, to see if it powers on. If not, leave it in the charger, and see if it powers on.
After installing the HardSPL, I decided to flash my US Cellular CDMA phone with a GSM rom and of course it bricked it. The phone would only boot to bootloader, so I was going to have it repaired for $70. But if I was willing to flash my device, then I'm sure as willing to look for a DIY solution somewhere. Goodthing I searched this forum, because the answers where right here!
Just format your microSD to FAT32, install an extracted stock ROM kit to the root of the SD insuring you rename the .nbh to RHODMIG.nbh and place the other extracted files on the SD as well. Place the microSD in your HTC Touch Pro2 and boot to bootloader. You may have to take steps to get to the bootloader, mine booted to bootloader automatically anyway at that point. Follow onscreen instructions, and your Touch will be as good as new!
thanks a million for helping me unbrick my tp2
wow man thanks a million, i followed the instru and it worked but was slow so i did task 29 and flashed the rom i wanted and it works great, i really appreciate your help on this
How did you get to the bootloader menu. I am using CDMA HTC Pro 2 by Sprint. Thanks

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone has experienced the problem I'm facing:
I have the latest Energy rom, with Android 2.3 on SD card. Android proved to be quite unstable and requires soft resets every now and then. Most of the time I would let it boot into WinMo and then run Haret again to get into Android.
Yesterday I left in running in Android all day, and in the evening I noticed the phone had died. Thinking it was just out of battery, I just plugged it in, let it charge for a few hours, then tried to boot it up. But it just kept rebooting, never getting pass the Touch Pro 2 boot screen.
Did hard resets twice, same thing. Re-flash the rom, same thing. Took out SD card, flashed again, same thing. Everything I tried, it would not get pass the initial boot screen, and just cycles the reboot again. Oh by the way, the hard resets and re-flashes are all successful with no errors.
Anyone have a solution to this? Thanks!

Try flashing another ROM or try putting in another battery and see if the bootloop issue goes away. Kindly update the status of your post if you fixed the issue or are still having problems.
I was trying to put my phone back to S-ON after trying all the roms, i used the method of installing an unroot method i found on the web on my phone through terminal emulator.
Now my phone won't turn on, i've taken out the battery, left it for a bit and put it back in, and still won't work.
It';s definetly bricked, but i was thinking, if carphonewarehouse can't fix it, will someone let me know if they know anyways that i can fix it please.
It still charges just that it wont turn on no matter what i try.
THANKS
can you get in recovery mode?
Hey Guys,
I need help,
here is my problem:
My HD7 restart it self. After enter Pin i go to Pictures Hub and it loads, loads, loads after 5 min my device does nothing so i took battery off. My Device start up and stuck on HTC White Screen.
I can go to Tri-Colored Screen, can go to Restore(Checksum)
After one Restore everything works. Now the same problem appeared again. Now i dont want to restore my device again.
Is there a way to start the device without hardrest??
Hope someone can help me.
Sorry for bad english.
Sounds like you may have bad hardware. I'm assuming you've never flashed a custom ROM or anything like that? I hate to break it to you, but your only options at this point are probably either retore again and hope for some reason it works this time, hard reset and hope the problem was in writable storage and not in ROM, flash a custom ROM 9if your bootloader is compatible) and hope that fixes it, or get a warranty replacement for a defective device.
Thanks for your help. I have tested Custom Rom's and Stock Rom's but the problem doesn't go so i have read that it can be a memory card problem. I know my device felt sometimes to the ground so i opened the phone and the memcard was not really inside the socket so i but it inside and all works fine.
Hey folks...I'm running into a problem I was hoping someone might be able to help with.
Earlier today I pulled my phone out of my pocket at work and saw that it was off...I thought that the battery must have died sooner than I thought. I started charging it in the car on the way home and it wouldn't boot up like normal. It would get to the google or "dots" screen and then reboot. I again thought that the battery might just be really low. After getting home and charging the phone all the way I still can't get it to boot up. As of now, one of 3 things will happen...
1-The phone will turn on, get to the google screen and bootloop (usually when plugged in).
2-The phone will turn on, get to the google screen and freeze.
3-Get to the "dots" screen and either swirl forever or eventually reboot and do one of the above again.
I've read some threads where people suggest this is a faulty power button, that doesn't seem to be the case for me though because I can get into fastboot and it won't select anything or turn off without me doing it.
I've used WugFresh NRT and wiped/reflashed android. I'm running out of ideas. Do you have any others?
I was running the stock 5.0.1, unlocked, not currently rooted.
Thanks!

Yeah, that was what I flashed :/
If you can get into fastboot you "should" be able to flash stock images... Obviously this will revert any root and you will need to flash TWRP/CWM recovery after.
I assume you have a Windows PC with fastboot/adb setup and all drivers etc..
- Download latest "stock" hammerhead images (I cannot post links due to XDA rules... so: "developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#hammerhead"
- Extract the .tgz archive contents on your PC into a folder
- Boot the N5 into fastboot and plug USB cable from phone into your PC
- Go to the folder with the extracted files and run the "flash-all.bat" script on Windows
**Hopefully at this point your device will start to respond.. I.e, on fastboot screen, at the bottom you will see "writing" or something, as the script runs on the command window on your PC.**
If this works, you should be able to reboot once complete and then wait to see if you can get back into your phone.. then you can fastboot again and flash custom recovery, and then whatever rom.
If however you have a hardware issue (i.e, even after the above process it fails) then I am not sure what you could do... I guess ensure it has a complete charge. If you can get into fastboot and the buttons are responsive then it should not be a faulty power button.
Hope this helps :good:
Have you tried a simple factory reset? Reason I ask is it was working fine so sounds like something needs "flushing out" clear cache etc.

Hello! I am apologize for that I didn't read the OP carefully. This happened to me once in that particulary way, but it was immediately after flashing. OP says that it happened suddenly, without reason. So now I am the one, who doesn't read, right? Sorry for that.

Thanks for the responses, but I'm still having trouble.
I have been able to successfully write the newest stock android 3 times (1 without full wipe, 2 with) and the phone still can't boot up and goes through one of the three issues above.
I've also been able to get to the system recovery from the bootloader and I've tried wiping the cache and doing a factory reset from there and the problem remains.
I'd contact google, but I bought it at launch so I don't think they'll do anything for me since it's been 1+ years.

Sounds like you have a bad nand sector. From fastboot try:
Code:
fastboot oem lock
Then reboot into fastboot and check if it's locked or not. If the device isn't locked your emmc is corrupt and there is nothing you can do. If that is the case call Google and they will most likely help you out with a RMA.

I was actually able to relock the phone.
Luckily I called google and they're going to send me a replacement.
If anyone else has any other ideas, I'll still take them...I'd rather not be without a phone for the next week!
You won't be without a phone - they are sending a refurbish unit to you , putting a block on your credit card and waiting for you phone to arive at them. Once that happens they will release the funds.
