Hi!
I have a HTC touch Cruise for about one month now. Starting with last week it started to say that the "main battery is low, device will close" even if the battery is charged (even pluged in). I tried soft reset, battery out, hard reset, nothing. So I decided to reflash it. Now, it gets to the Windows start up screen but after I can hear the sound for turning off device, and the phone turns off for no reason and without a message.
The original language was french, and it was flashed with a english version and olipro spl.
Does anyone has a idea how I can recover my phone ? I have tried to load several roms, none of them worked.
Please help,
Thanks
I have the same 'Main battery is very low' problem on my TC, even when the battery is almost full. I have this issue on Bepe's ROM, ASerg's ROM and also on the official HTC WWE ROM.
It occurs frequently when I soft-reset. When it happens, I can only succesfully start my phone after completely charging it (LED turns green).
I think it must be a hardware problem in my TC. Switching the battery with another TC-battery did not fix it.
Can't you use your phone at all?
Seems like I got the same problem as you guys http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=402765
Any solution yet?
Is it the same on your side, that when you boot up with the Charger plugged in you don't get past the first splash?

Hi guys,
Bit of a weird one this... my phone has been working perfectly normal for some 9 months now, but all of a sudden it has decided to play up when turning on the phone.
If I turn the phone on with battery power it hangs on the boot screen (which shows the version information) on doesn't get any further. If however, I boot with the USB cable plugged in (hence charging), the phone eventually comes ob after around 5-10 minutes!
I have tried installing a number of different ROMs (Qtek, Dopod etc.) but every ROM gives the same behaviour.
Would I be right in thinking that this is more than likely a hardware problem?
Thanks,
Stig.
if you experience the same behavior with different roms, it sounds like its an hardware problem indeed...
When the phone is on and running, do you have any problem ?
No problem when the phone finally comes on. Its certainly a weird one. I have since got it sorted via the insurance.
Recently screen of my qtek started to act werid. It was dark like only a half of the pixels flashed. I thought that it is a software problem because up to that moment phone worked just fine so I tried to flash it with a new rom... and I failed... about three times... now my phone is dead and i can't even charge it - no reaction (not even a light). What should I do (burry my best friend?) ? Can anyone help ?
If you cannot charge it you wont be able to flash it again since it is not allowed under 50% of the charge. I advice you to insert a charged battery. Got any friend with a prophet? then reflash it again, doing the whole procedure described in some other posts like:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=283245&page=2
you can find some roms there too
Hello,
i have a brand new o2 XDA Touch pro. After trying (unsuccessfully) to remove the CID to flash the original HTC Firmware (the O2 Firmware was lame), the XDA went off and is completly dead now. The last thing I was able to see was a strange display behaing (some strange look and fading off).
The phone does not react on pressing the Power-On Button! No reaction!
Can anyone help me or has anyone a hint how to hard-reset the device?!
So far I remember there was a trick by removing the battery for about 24 hours (this worked for my older xda mini s phone). May this work for this phone, too?
Please help me!!!
Best regards
Gabriel
Did you try the old tric to remove the battery and then put it back in? When you do the Hard-SPL it would remove the CID lock. It would seem to go dead and unresponsive as happened with mine. I just removed the battery and put it back in and it powered up fine. Checked the tri-colour boot screen to make sure it was done. It is in the thread for flashing your first ROM.
Hello wildcard,
thanks for your reply.
I already tried removing the battery. Yesterday I tried for about an our and completly off power (no USB Power or PC connected). Still no reaction after trying to power on with battery plugged.
I'll give it another try in about a few hours after leaving the phone powered off about 12 hours. So far the phone seems completly dead! I would be glad even to see any light / display going on with try-color mode, but anything keeps powered off after battery connected and giving the power-on button a try.
Best regards
Gabriel
UPDATE:
Phone still completly dead / no-power on possible after 12 hours power-off / no battery!
Tried several key-combinations for soft+/hard reset with battery and/or USB-Power even with plugging in while pressing the keys including power-on. NO Reaction
How can this be??? May it only be possible to send it in to O2?
I was unable to complete any CID unlock / HTC Firmware update on the O2 device. They stuck always on 0% or failed before this step and until that time the phone always rebooted into WM6 after battery removal. So I don't think O2 could blame me for doing anything wrong... and I don't understand why there is not even Power for Bootloader mode possible. I don't think that any software could harm the hardware in such a way that not even power-on is possible??!
Any ideas of developers to reanimate the phone? I will try keep power of for a few days now until I go to O2 with the phone...last try. For a XDA Mini S i owned once (that phone has been unlocked too), this worked once it had a similar failure... maybe I have luck in 2-3 days with my TouchPro phone.
Best regards
Gabriel
I am thinking that you may really need to send it in to O2. Might be your best bet, let's hope some one more ducarted than I am chimes in.
Hi folks,
I have some new problems but don`t know where they come from.
I have flashed the newest Version of the energy rom and everything was fine. One day my phone falls down and the battery and the cover get lose and the phone gets off. I put the battery in and powered on the phone but the phone stop at the boot screen. I`ve tried serveral thing like Reset, Hard Reset and again took out the battery for some minutes but still it hangs in the boot screen. So I transfered the flash on the SDcard and flashed the rom again. Everything worked great till 2 days later. I was searching something in opera and opera was very slow. I closed opera and tried to open it again but the whole phone freezed. So I reseted it and the phone started boot and showed the Energy Wallpaper and a small white box in the lower left side what is only shown when the phone is started the first time. But the phone freezed again at this point. After reseting the phone again ist hanged again in the boot screen. I flashed the phone again and right now it works fine but I don``t wanna flash my phone every two days.
Is it a hardware failiure caused of the drop or is it a failure of the rom?
maybe post this in the rom thread?
maybe something inside the phone broke when it fell ? This random freezes shouldn't occur. I used Energy Rom 3 for about a week and didn't experience any freezes what so ever.
here's an ideea. Flash a stock rom and see if the problems still persist and if so, you should see your warranty and get your phone fixed.
hope that helped.
you should flash a stock rom then switch bak to nrg and if that doesnt fix it then youll have to get a new phone sorry mate !
Hi folks,
just have to wait 2 weeks for my new Vario IV from T-Mobile. So I have to work 2 weeks with this geek original Rom what is really ugly and slow.
same problem happening to me, except i have not dropped my phone.
should my phone crash whilst using it and i have to soft reset or pull out the battery then the rom will instantly reinstall itself and require me to align the screen again. sometimes i have to hard reset for it to do this.
I have problem flashing my HTC Fuze with the new ROM - I was using EnergyROM 2.0 but failed to flash to 3.0. I am however able to flash it back to the ATT ROM without problem.
Tried from USB flashing and from the microSD card - nothing works at this time???
Not sure what the issue are at this time.
This Energy v3.0 standard is a poor rom for
htc touch diamond p3700
hard spl 1.24
radio 1.00.25.05
Bad points-
have had it on for 30 mins and phone heats up,taskmanager in top right gone and phone freeze, using 89% ram standard , 98%after use, slide lock not working properly after power off, battery draining fast eg down 6% in 5mins,sometimes stert menu doesnt work.
Good Points-
manila is smooth as silk, everything is very responsive, quick, good programs built in,
one rom that could be the best but not for the htc diamond p3700
will read all the posts for problems for fixes
its not true!!!!!!!!!
i am using the same rom,,, and it works perfectly

Best ROM ever tried.
Hello guys, first of all i would apologize for my last thread in which i posted a ware, im sorry for that. Anyways i have a problem. I updated my SDA with WM6.5.21234 Standard by Gregory Full. I've been using it for 2 weeks and today i installed the HTC Tornado Radio 02.61.01 from this post (b : WM6 => "the remote party has ended this connection") (i cannot post the link :s) ... and now when i switch on the phone the 1st load screen comes and the mobile is switched of I even tried re-flashing the ROM but no luck.
How far did the flash of the radio package succeed? There is a distribution file that updates the IPL + SPL before the Radio - the flashing stops at several % values but it must continue to 100% and do an automatic reboot.
What do the lines say on the 3-color screen if you go to the bootloader mode?
everything went well, the phone restarted automatically after installation and never turned on =( ... it say's
IPL 1.00
SPL 1.00.0014
Tornado IU
Are you sure about 1.00 for IPL and SPL?
They are quite old - the latest are 2.00 and 2.0..14
I suggest the following sequence:
1.) load the stock ROM from your operator -> check the status for IPL and SPL
2.) update to the latest IPL and SPL and Radio with the combined package from Nitrogens tagline -> check if the Stock ROM still works
3.) load the cooked ROMs as the cooks indicate to do (take care about the format BINFS <size>)
i ddnt get the first step
oooh yeah Thnkx alot man this forum rocks its ok now =)
thnkx for your help
The stock ROM is the one that is on the orginal device as it is "on stock" when you buy it in a shop. As you have Super-CID your device already, you can take any other Tornado "stock" ROM from any vendor - as you like.
The advantage of stock-ROMs is that they are usually complete and everything in there matches to the other. So if such a ROM works - your device does not have problem.
Then you can start to replace pieces one after the other...
got it .... thanks for your help =)
I'm in a little bit of a problem with my i-mate sp5. i upgraded to the wm6.5 and now the orange light by the ear piece keeps flashing as if its charging even when its not plugged it. everytime i restart it i get a different battery level. i brought a new battery and it does the same thing but it doesn't charge. any suggestions? This my i-mate burnt up?
Get back to a stock ROM to see if it is a device problem. If it works ok with the original ROM, then the battery and/or LED driver are screwed in the WM65 ROM. Be sure you load a ROM that has the proper Tornado OEM drivers cooked into it.
Yea i tried that too. Im still not about to charge it fully. the phone seems to get hot too. I thing maybe the phone is burnt out. Is there a place where i can use it as a trade-in or have it refurbished or is it best i jus buy a new one
yea i tried that already. it does the same thing. the phone wont died unless i take it off the charger but it will not charge all the way with either battery and the phone is always hot. with the old battery the charge icon stayed up even without the charger being connected but the charge icon never comes up for the new battery even if the charger is connected. with the new battery it charges a little then it will die very fast because its still tries to charge itself after i disconnect the battery. one time i set the cpu to 228mhz and it overheated and wouldn't come back on until i flashed it again. you think thats th problem? maybe theres a burnt out board or something
The HW controlling the charge is controlled via 2 different methods:
- phone off: the bootloader
- phone on: the windows driver
If the "phone off" gives the same results - try a different battery. The HW inside the phone is hard to break imho.
