Problem WM6.5, - HTC Tornado

Hello guys, first of all i would apologize for my last thread in which i posted a ware, im sorry for that. Anyways i have a problem. I updated my SDA with WM6.5.21234 Standard by Gregory Full. I've been using it for 2 weeks and today i installed the HTC Tornado Radio 02.61.01 from this post (b : WM6 => "the remote party has ended this connection") (i cannot post the link :s) ... and now when i switch on the phone the 1st load screen comes and the mobile is switched of I even tried re-flashing the ROM but no luck.

How far did the flash of the radio package succeed? There is a distribution file that updates the IPL + SPL before the Radio - the flashing stops at several % values but it must continue to 100% and do an automatic reboot.
What do the lines say on the 3-color screen if you go to the bootloader mode?

everything went well, the phone restarted automatically after installation and never turned on =( ... it say's
IPL 1.00
SPL 1.00.0014
Tornado IU

Are you sure about 1.00 for IPL and SPL?
They are quite old - the latest are 2.00 and 2.0..14
I suggest the following sequence:
1.) load the stock ROM from your operator -> check the status for IPL and SPL
2.) update to the latest IPL and SPL and Radio with the combined package from Nitrogens tagline -> check if the Stock ROM still works
3.) load the cooked ROMs as the cooks indicate to do (take care about the format BINFS <size>)

i ddnt get the first step

oooh yeah Thnkx alot man this forum rocks its ok now =)
thnkx for your help

The stock ROM is the one that is on the orginal device as it is "on stock" when you buy it in a shop. As you have Super-CID your device already, you can take any other Tornado "stock" ROM from any vendor - as you like.
The advantage of stock-ROMs is that they are usually complete and everything in there matches to the other. So if such a ROM works - your device does not have problem.
Then you can start to replace pieces one after the other...

got it .... thanks for your help =)

I'm in a little bit of a problem with my i-mate sp5. i upgraded to the wm6.5 and now the orange light by the ear piece keeps flashing as if its charging even when its not plugged it. everytime i restart it i get a different battery level. i brought a new battery and it does the same thing but it doesn't charge. any suggestions? This my i-mate burnt up?

Get back to a stock ROM to see if it is a device problem. If it works ok with the original ROM, then the battery and/or LED driver are screwed in the WM65 ROM. Be sure you load a ROM that has the proper Tornado OEM drivers cooked into it.

Yea i tried that too. Im still not about to charge it fully. the phone seems to get hot too. I thing maybe the phone is burnt out. Is there a place where i can use it as a trade-in or have it refurbished or is it best i jus buy a new one

yea i tried that already. it does the same thing. the phone wont died unless i take it off the charger but it will not charge all the way with either battery and the phone is always hot. with the old battery the charge icon stayed up even without the charger being connected but the charge icon never comes up for the new battery even if the charger is connected. with the new battery it charges a little then it will die very fast because its still tries to charge itself after i disconnect the battery. one time i set the cpu to 228mhz and it overheated and wouldn't come back on until i flashed it again. you think thats th problem? maybe theres a burnt out board or something

The HW controlling the charge is controlled via 2 different methods:
- phone off: the bootloader
- phone on: the windows driver
If the "phone off" gives the same results - try a different battery. The HW inside the phone is hard to break imho.

wrong rom update

After I mistakelt upgrade my s200 with a Kjam rom, the device will not turn on again, now I need to boot from the sd card has anyone an OS backup which work on Sd card?
I ll try to alive the device from sd card but I dont know how I copy the os to the sd card.
Do you have the bootloader alive?
thanks for your help, no I could only reach to Bootscreen when the wall charger plugged, but naturally I could not update the rom from the charger, so I think the only solution is using a backup image from the sd card.

AFAIK, it means that your battery is empty. Try to charge the battery with any working S200/100/110/9100 and you will be able to run the bootloader, then you will restore the device. Correct me, if I wrong.
the problem is not about the charger or battery, although the battery 100% it still cant be opened the problem is after load the Kjam ROM, the device reject to open, it could onyl turn on if the wall charger is pluged however I could plug the USB data cable at the same time. I send it to the service center hope they could recover the device...

This behaviour is typicel for a device with both broken image and discharged battery. The battery WAS at 100%, but the Prophet does not charge it if has no working OS, so the batery was drained until you tryed to reanimate the device. Ensure that the pattery is full with other, working device.
Walker;
I charge the battery with an other prophet I ll wait untill the light become green and battery is 100% then after when I tried with the boken prophet it did not reanimate the device. it is very interesting to see that wizard could work with prohet's rom but not vice versa
Flash wrong ROM consequences
Let me relate my experiences; exactly the same problem.
Update KJAM rom on DOPOD 818Pro ... Damn phone could not power on at all, at most on bootloader, plugin USB cable --> no USB word displayed at bottom.
Try to flash any RUU also no go ...
ON battery, could not power up at all, only plug in wall charger then managed to get to bootloader ... so all was lost.
Send to EBAY (where i bought from) and they flash the bloody Dopod 830 ROM..
During collection, plugin my own battery, same cannot power up... evidently the flash to Kjam killed my battery too !
The good thing was that with the 830 rom, my IPL became 2.16 (from 1.00).
So i reflashed to Dopod latest 2.15 ROM ok... further flash to AKU 2.3 hacked ROM also no problem.
SO, ultimately the cause was a killed battery from the ROM update.
Use a meter to measure contact pt 1 & 2 from top edge of battery, (supposed to be min 4.7V) I believe it's 0V or totally shorted out.
This battery cannot power on the phone, but still can be used as spare battery by power up with wall charger first, the battery still has it's 3.7V available to sustain operation.
So u can go buy a new battery and Flash to the correct ROM now.
Good Luck
to buyaoxiao;
Thanks for your comments but;
I think there is something more serious than the battery; I have two prophets, and I also try with the other's battery and still nothing happened, more than that, both of the batteries work with the non-broken prophet.
Flash wrong ROM
Hmm.. that may be true also.
I cannot really conclude as i was lucky the ebay shop i bought from agree to flash my S200.. i believed they had some trouble too as it took them a week to get it to Dopod 830 rom ... when normally they say 1 day will do. They refused to go into specifics though... (afraid that i demand for 1-1 exchange)
I have had the same problem, so that's why I decide to sent to dealer to try to fix it. Now I'm expect to have a call to pick it up. Hope they can improve my prophet to the new chip G4.
I tryed several times, hours to fix it, but no way. Sorry I can not tell you something good.
I am sure that there should be a way to fix those devices Jtag should not be the only way( if it really works) it is meaningless to loose a device only because of a wrong rom update

O2 XDA Neo almost dead... Help please...

I have a XDA Neo German version IPL/SPL 2.15.0001. I tried the Qtek rom with no vendor ID (Qtek shipped rom + noID.exe from Dopod noID version) and it stopped at 1% saying that the .nbf image was not made for it (but it was). I never unplugged the cable and it stayed with the 1% progress bar for a few hours. After that, something strange happened: it started flickering in/out of the bootloader mode. The frequency of the flickering increased and now the bootloader appears after a greater period of time and it stays on for 1-2 secs. What do I have to do? As I am affraid of unplugging the device (it's not even mine ).
P.S.: I tried several times to run the updater again and again, but with no result (it said it was not connected, though for a short period of time the USB icon appeared while in bootloader mode). While in bootloader only IPL & SPL fields appear, not the OS... Is this normal?
Many thanks... Urgent action needed...
hi,
try to set in bootloader and reflash with on old version of rom.
This was already an older version... And it doesn not respond to the key-combination commands (with the cable connected) ... What shall I do? Because I dont't want to unplug it and render it dead...
I solved the problem
I replaced the battery with another one without disconnecting the device. The odd thing is that the battery was 0% charged, though at the beginning of the upgrade it was 100%...
I don't advise you do to the same, as I don't really know the cause of this event.
P.S.: Use the Dopod Asia NoVendorID rom!

I didn't say that... It's obvious though: the AS connection is cut off... I emphasized the idea that the battery was deffective and discharged rapidly during the first minutes of the upgrading (when the device works solely on battery power, without being charged)... Did you get my meaning now?

Need help. T-mobile wizard!

ipl & spl should always be the same, not 1.01 and 2.26
is you phone g3 or g4?
CID unlocked?
i think you should go back to the original rom from your provider and try upgrading again after reading all the stickys!
maybe thereĀ“s someone out there who knows better?

G3 and CID unlocked.

go back to your original provider rom to get ipl and spl the same number, and an uncorrupted ext-rom.
than use wizard service tool to see if your wizard is really cid unlocked.
hope you can flash with that bad battery drain!
Thank you for support.
another ideas?
Variosteph was right. You need to go to the t-mobile website and download the t-mobile ROM form there and reflash it. Your IPL and SPL need to be the same or it will cause major problems.

How I bricked my 8125

At The Beginning
I have a Cingular 8125 G3. I first began flashing new roms onto my phone 4 months ago after I unlocked it using "the definitive guide to unlocking phone" by DrDot. Everything went smoothly.
The Start of the Problem
A couple days ago, I was running the TNT 1933 with CoolCamera. SUDDENLY, my phone started to reset itself everytime I went on the internet, or downloaded emails.
The Attempted Fix
I decided to flash my phone to another rom, so I began by flashing it back to 1.05 rom that you use in "the definitive guide to unlocking phone" by DrDot, before flashing it to a better rom.
The Final Finally
In the middle of the udate process (for the 1.05 rom), my computer screen said, an error occured, and to redo the update. When I looked at my phone, it started to blink on the 3 color bars. It kept blinking until it died. Now it cannot read a charge or turn on. I tried leaving it on my charger overnight, hoping it would charge, and nothing (not even the charge light on the phone would go on. I also made sure the phone charger was fine, which it is. I even tried to charge it on the usb cable, and occassionally I see the 3 color bars flash). My phone is bricked.
buy a new battery and then flash a new rom
It is not bricked
I will try that

Okay, I'll try that. I'll let you know tonight.
keep in mind that when you are in bootloader mode (tri-color screen) the phone cannot be charged, this is why you should always have a 50% battery level when you flash a rom. A new battery should definately fix it, id flash it with a manufacturers rom that is known to work like the wizard love or t mobile 2.26
Everything is good thanks
I put a new battery in there and it is fine now. Thanks. How can I delete this thread? It is pointless now.
bringing the emty battery UP again with home tools
Please note that the following is highly experimental and if you consider to use the following "workaround" it is TOTALLY AT YOUR OWN RISK and i can not be held responsible for damages caused to your hardware or to yourself!!!!!
I had the same issue 2 times till now, what i made:
i took a USB cable (like the normal one i use for the wizard to connect it to the pc), cut off the mini usb jack. There are 4 wires in the cable we need the black one and the red one. The red goes to the + of the battery and the black goes to the - of the battery (on my battery the + and the - are marked), if on some batteries there are no marks for + and - you can use multi zet tool to check. The next thing is to put the cable in a free usb on the pc and the wires on the battery. Its quite difficult to find out the right place and position for charging the battery this way - but you actually need to charge it this way not more than 5-10 mins. Then you can boot normally and continue charging the "right" way. Use your old battery again. Thats all...

Did wm 6.1 kill my wizard???????????

hellow to all . i resently installed wm 6.1 on my wizard and eventualy the battery ran out ,so i connected the charger and to my suprise it did not charge so i tryed with another charger and the same result. the thing is it was working perfictly with wm 5.0 and ever since wm 6.1 this happend.to do the install i used awizard to do the ulocking bouth sim and cid then i down graded the IPL and then flashed the PTG rom and it worked perfectly intil the battery situation.when i plug the charger the red light turns on but thats all it does , and it stays that way for days in a row . ive tryed two diffrent battries. can any one help or give any ideas on this situation, thanks in advance.
Most likely you have flashed a G3 IPL and SPL to a G4 device. If it is the case, then sorry that you've got a brick.
the device is a g3 and ipl spl is g3 the olny thing im not sure about is the rom, here is the link from where i got it.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...d=1#post2601705 , can any body tell me if g3 or g4 rom...thanks
please post the full link, its not complete..it gives a 404 Error
There is no G4-only ROM, all custom ROMs now are G3 and G4 capable.
Try to press the reset hole and see if it goes to RUU or not. If it still doesn't power off even though the charge light became green, then there may be a hardware error.
the problem you are experiencing imay be the amp on your charger.
Only an HTC wall charger can revive a flat dead battery.
This charger should say that it is 1Amp (1000ma)
If you use a charger from a motorola/blackeberry/USB charger it will not help you in this case.
Check your amp.
If you do not have an official wall charger, then the only way to revive is to get a new battery
yes i agree with SVI, because i myself faced this probm, when i got a new batt..i had to charge it fully firstt :/ but i went on with the upgrades..and the batt died on me..i used a motorola v3 charger but didnt work..then i went to the shop owner to replace it..and he said that there is a special chargers for these HTC phones, i bought that and its working perfectly now
hey guys thanks for the replies and ive tryed all those solutions ,the wall charger from my htc trinity and the wall charger from the qtek wizard it self and neather do anything.
the only thing that dose work is putting the battery from my trinity and holding it with my hand in place. it turns on but it dosent stay on for long .
it turns off in the following maner the screen starts going white and it stays that way.
i tryed going to bootloader mode and i succeaded but then it turned to the white screen.
changing the subject the IPL is 1.01 and the SPL is 2.18 the rom is a 6.1 ptg rom here is the link:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2601705&posted=1#post2601705 this link works i tested it. can anybody tell me if this rom is for g3 or g4 devices, the device with wm5 works fine . or can it be from the IPL and SPL not being the same. can any one tell me why this is happaning iv flashed so many devices and never had this problem . i my self have a qtek magicion, a htc trinity and a qtek prophet. well hope for some help thanks again.
Yes, first step is to ensure that you have a fully charged battery, a new battery is not fully charged so a desktop charger will be helpfull.
The IPL SPL difference is discussed by Dr Puttingham post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285435 step 16
"Watch the rebooting of your PDA, if BOTH IPL and SPL are 1.xx then great. Quite probably your IPL will be 1.xx and your SPL will be 2.xx. Rerun the button 1.05 ROM downgrade a second time and it will become 1.x on both IPL and SPL. You don't need to redo the unlocking."
Hopefully you can maintain bootload (press and hold camera button on start-up) with the new battery
Anouther hopefully usefull post is

Its sounds like a battery drain partial brick. Under normal situations, the phone will shut down before the battery is completely drained. This is so you don't end up with a completely dead battery. Sometimes, like when the phone is frozen or at the bootloader screen it will run itself completely dead. It sounds to me like you have a completely dead battery. To charge under normal conditions, your battery has to have enough juice to boot the phone one more time. See, when you plug your phone in, if its not on, it will turn on. During boot, there is no connection between charger and battery...the battery has to have enough juice to make it through boot at which point the phone enables the charger. The way I fixed my battery brick was by cutting the end off of a usb cable, striping the wires, and jumping a charge onto the battery.
Please refer to this blog for a description of the steps involved in this process:
http://www.asktheadmin.com/2007/06/htc-wizardcingular-8125-dead-battery_21.html
could be as stupid as the ongoing connection initiated by activesync:
check the schedule settings and change it to manually.
