First of i have looked in many thred but could not get my answer so I posting this.
I was on dutty's new wm6.1 rom but with radio 1.64 but due to constant freezing and gps issue i decided to go back wm 6.0. so i flash my tilt with Duttys Dualtouch v4 RTM.7. everything went ok but now issue is I can not reboot my phone. I after setting up date etc. customisation started and then soft reset. after that soft reset my tilt just hang at dutty's series screen does not go any further. I have tried hard rest, soft rest , going to three color screen and amny other that i can think of but every time i hang (htc log in center, hTc word in middle and dutty's series at right buttom screen). I waited for long time in that case phone goes into blank screen and when i press power it show me some wired screen with many colored dots. ( it that waht called I bricked my tilt). Is there any way to flash tilt via sd card? I show few thread on this site but they are for different brands phone. if there is a way can some one tell me how?
Reset to three color screen with USB
Hit reset, camera and power button all at a time, you will see the three color screen, put your usb port and flash with old rom. That's it....

LOL....should have flashed the radio first
Like the other person said...go the boot loader (aka tri color screen) and install a compatible WM6 Radio.

this is my first post
sorta new to htc, but i've worked some with flashing and working with motorolas, so i'm not totally new to all this. i've got an issue i haven't been able to find a thread about though. i've got a tilt/kaiser that got interupted during a file transfer and was going only to the "tri color" screen/ bootloader (i assume this is the bootloader screer). while in this screen active sync doesn't recognize the phone, but i've read that isn't really abnormal. i tried various hard spl jump spl "shots in the dark" but i haven't been able to figure out if there are actual programs that i need to use to install these roms, or if its supposed to just "work". mtty see's the thing sometimes, and doesn't other times. any how, after hours of messing around, i found that if i unplug the usb and bull the batter, then reinsert the battery and immediatly press the power button it boots. i thought i inadvertantly fixed it, but i tried to do a hard reset (soft keys, and stylus deal) and it went directly back to the multi colored screen. i pulled the batt and put it back in and didn't push anything and it went right to the same screen. i then pulled the back and did the immediate power button and it booted again.
so, all that to say, i know its not actually fixed, but active sync can see it now, so i assume my actual question needs to be: how do i actually "flash"/"reflash" the at&t rom and is that actually what i need to do?
the info on the tri color (and white, quad color??) screen is:
KAIS1*0
SPL-1.56.0000
CPLD-8
and at the bottom it will read serial if the cable is unplugged and usb when it is
thanks in advance for any help
first i would try a hard reboot tto do this yuo have to hold down the two soft keys and hit the reset button with the stylist what you are doing is a soft reset try this and let me know what happen
after that you have to flash hard spl inorder to flash a new rom
You need to install hard spl before attempting to flash a new/cooked rom, see the kaiser wiki, flashing without hard spl will brick your phone. If you have already tried flashing then try mtty task 2a to restore to factory default. Check the Kaiser Wiki, all the info you need is there.
let me know if you need help with hard spl
sorry, i've been out of town and haven't had any time to mess with this problem. i'll do some more reading about hard spl and flashing before i go much farther. i did try the hard reset with the softkeys and stylus but it just went back to the multi colored screen i remember. i also remember that after sucessully getting it to actually boot three consecutive times by holding the power button briefly after inserting the battery, i tried it a fourth time and could never get it to start all the way back up. we'll see how it goes and i'll try to post something difinitive either way. thanks for your help so far.
Hello forum members,
would you please help me have the BT HTC S710 Original ROM? I have only seen the BT HTC S620, which when I tried to flash with to rebrand, blanked my HTC S710 screen. When I turn it on, only the two green lights come on either side of the phone ear piece.
It means that a hard reset is not visible on my screen, there is no tri-colour display either.
I have tried other ROMS, and get invalid id errors and error 270. I have tried Dr Gonzo and related ROMS.
It's now three days, no phone no pim, I am lost.
Thanks for your attention.
YOSEFE.
PS. You may PM me if convenient.
Hi YOSEFE,
I have the same problem
I tried the 620 rom and just have the 2 green LED's. I cannot get a bootloader screen and attempts to flash new roms get to 3% and then I get errors.
Did you ever sort this problem out?
Paul.
Have you unlocked ur USPL in ur phone?
You tried to flash a S620 ROM to a S710???? Look in the Wiki, there is a link to the official ROMs on the ftp...

Yes, I'm afraid I did, by mistake, flash 620 ROM to the 710 [feels rather stupid!]
Not happy with BT’s [mobile operator] own ROM and software that went on the phone, I successfully flashed Dr. Martin Gonzo’s Windows Mobile 6.1 v1.1 and have been using it for a couple of months but when BT launched their new phone software, I decided to try it but because it won’t work with WM 6.1, I needed to then revert back to BT’s old ROM and this was the only one available that I could find [feels rather stupid again].
The screen is completely black; only green LED's on each side of the earpiece shows any sign of life.
Connecting the phone via ActiveSync shows “HTC-S620 Connected” and I am able to browse the files on the phone but not having a display on the phone, I am limited to what I can do.
I have tried running RUU_Vox_HTC_WWE_1.34.405.1_4.1.13.54_03.10.90_Ship.exe but ActiveSync connection is lost and I hear the Windows hardware removed sound shortly after the progress bar is shown.
I’m at a loss as to what to try
Paul.
Shut it down, then hold down camera button and plug in the usb cable. The boot screen should appear and you should be able to flash the normal ROM!
I cannot get the boot screen, or any screen for that matter.
I have tried taking the battery out to make sure the phone is off. Reinserting that battery then holding the camera button down and then inserting the usb lead. The keypad lights up for a few seconds then goes out. ActiveSync then connects but the screen is still black
Paul.
[Edited: Sorry duplicate post]
Sorry for replying to my own post but a quick update...
I have managed to bring the phone back to life and reinstall Dr. Martin Gonzo’s Windows Mobile 6.1 v1.1 on it again.
This is partly assumption and not particularly accurate but the original poster (YOSEFE) might find this useful.
By installing the S620 rom on the S710, not only did I make the screen go blank, I think all the keys ended up remapped and mixed up, therefore any attempt to install Gonzo’s rom ultimately ended in failure because when the phone beeped and wanted a keypress to continue, pressing the left softkey for ‘OK’ or ‘Yes’ did not work because it had been remapped to do something else.
What worked for me is that when the phone beeped during the uspl_116_jockyw.bat install, I pressed the X or C key (I can’t remember the exact one now). One of these keys must have been the ‘OK’ or ‘Yes’ key after the S620 rom muddled things up. I only know this by trial and error over the period of today.
To my glee, the backlight lit up on the display and after a bit of tinkering, I’m back in action again
I won’t be installing a rom designed for another model again!
Paul.
Bat 'n' Ball,
sorry for not returning here to see your post. I will remember the possibility of pressing "X" or "C", should I make the same mistake as before, although like you, I should never do that ever again. However, technology being what it is, who knows?
In the end BT got me sorted out.
Thanks for sharing.
Hi, first let me say im sorry if this has already been covered somewhere, i have spent all day searching the wiki and forum to no avail. If the solution is already here please point me in the direction and delete this thread.
I have just flashed my kaiser from the original vodafone WM6 ROM to Dutty's WM6.1 Hybrid v2 5.2.19716/5.2.19700. At first everything seemed fine, then when i tried to restore the backup id created with sprite backup it restored, reset and now wont get past the loading screen. It shows the vodafone splash screen then duttys htc screen then goes back to vodafone.
I used Hardspl 3.29 before flashing. I tried hard reseting which made no difference. i cant get into the bootloader (tried the camera, power reset thing loads) and i cant connect to my pc as it wont go past the splash screen.
I had a look at MTTY but it doesnt give the options described in the instructions and after reading the warnings about MTTY decided i shouldnt mess around with what i dont understand.
Any help will be greatly apreciated, i love my phone and the idea that ive just broken it scares the crap out of me.
Thanks
Sandy

first, are you SURE you can't get into bootloader?
I know it sounds stupid, but try REALLY pushing the camera button in while pushing the stylus into the reset hole. Once you get to the bootloader (tri-color screen), try flashing a different ROM
good luck

I agree here a lot of people don't realize the Camera button is a two stage button. It stops at Half-Press then you can push again to get Full Press. You need a Full Press to get into bootloader.
Just to clarify.
Press and hold the camera button and at the same time insert stylus in reset hole and hold until bootloader comes up.
In other words, do not let up until bootloader shows. It should take around 2-3 seconds.
yea ive been doing that. After trying many times i have found that holding the camera button down for around 2 minutes after the htc dutty series screen comes up brings up a white screen with the error message;
"the device is unable to boot either because you have turned off the device incorrectly or tried to install an application from an untrusted source. press send to reset or any other key to cancel"
The message dissapears if i let go of the camera button, and resets back to the vodafone screen and stays there. If i press the send button same thing happens (just an idiot check but the send button is the green pick up button right?) ive tryed the enter button and both soft keys but all to the same result. I have tried holding down each button on that screen as well and the error message stays as long as i hold the button but when i let go it just goes back to the vodafone splash screen and stays there.
I have tried holding the stylus with the camera button all the way through to this error message, doesnt seem to make a difference.
just to clarify, ive done what you suggest and still cant get into the bootloader.
Thanks for any help, this is driving me mad.
hold the camera button and use the stylus to press the reset button, and continue holding the camera button until the bootloader screen pops up.
i used to let go the camera button as soon as the screen go black, but then it just reset the device instead of going into the bootloader...
oh forgot to mention. Shotly after the dutty series screen comes up i get the window appearing sound but nothing comes on screen. suggests to me that maybe its trying to tell me whatswrong but i can see what it is. maybe, i dunno..

Do you have a storage card installed?
yes. tried taking it out and doing the same thing. no different.
anything else i could try?

OK But are you also holding your stylus in the Reset Hole?
If yes, And you can't get into Bootloader, well I think you are "boned"
Yes im doing that. Boned? really? What about the error message that eventually comes up? isnt there anything i can do from there? Any other way of reseting it so maybe the bootloader works?
And if its really broken, do you recon my network will send me another or have i just properly voided the warranty?
So my FUZE was working fine since I bought it when it first came out. It was on Stock ROM, Radio, and SPL. I decided to flash the EnergyROM to try out the new Manilla. I installed the Hard-SPL, flashed the 1.12.25.19 radio, and then flashed EnergyROM 2.0 32209. First thing I noticed was that the DPAD was HORRIBLE.
It would not correctly sense what I am pressing! I press home, and some times it doesn't register anything, sometimes it thinks I pressed left. I try the back button but it thinks I pressed right. I have had this thing since it came out so I know how to use the DPAD now, but whatever happened has completely screwed it up! I thought it was the ROM so I went to the leaked AT&T Test ROM which is also VERY nice. But the problem is still there, the DPAD just does NOT work correctly.
Also, I was unable to send an SMS earlier until I soft reset the phone. That had never happened before either.
Since it is not the ROM, it is either the Radio or the SPL. What I don't understand is that many many people have installed both the same Radio and SPL without any problems. How can I fix my DPAD?

Did you try flashing back to the stock ROM? If that doesn't work, I wonder if flashing back to stock everything (ROM, radio, SPL) might kick out the bugs (?)
Did you hard reset after flashing? That might be your problem. And what programs/settings did you install? I would hard reset-don't run UC-then see if the dpad is working fine.
I had the problem without installing anything over the ROM itself. When you flash a ROM, it hard resets, so what does hard resetting again do? I spent like 2 hours getting it the way I like it so I don't want to hard reset again. I tried reflashing the radio but it still had the problem right afterwards, but now it seems to have stopped. This is very weired.
EDIT: It started doing it again but if I put the phone to sleep and bring it back, it normally fixes it. What an annoying problem. I am going to try to flash a different radio and see what happens. I just like this radio so much its GPS actually works decently.

No, it doesn't do a full hard reset when you flash. A lot of crap is left over, and if you just start using the ROM, you get a bunch of random bugs, like, say your DPAD doesn't work. You're supposed to hard reset when the the phone asks you to align the screen. It's a must. Seriously, hard reset and start over and all of your problems will go away.
I reverted to my stock radio and the problem seems to have disappeared. I will try it out more tomorrow.
How is anything left over? It just seems so odd because I can't ever find anything from before when I flash a ROM.
It seems that I can still get fast GPS locks with this radio too, so I guess the A-GPS fix is all in the ROM.

They're not telling you to do the hard reset just for the heck of it; there's a very good reason for doing it. Not following the standard flashing instructions and then posting in the chef's thread that his ROM is buggy is just not cool.
It turned out to be the radio causing my problems not the ROM. I have never hard reset after flashing a ROM and never had a problem (and that time wasn't a problem because it was due to the radio ROM)
Not that I am asking for it, but unless there is actual proof that you need to hard reset, I don't think there is a point of doing it.
Ok the problem is back! So annoying. Does flashing the SPL hard reset the phone? I want to try going back to the stock SPL since that is the only thing it could still be, but I would rather not now if it hard resets.
Just get it over with and do a hard reset. Jeez, it's not that complicated.
roms and radios will not adjust the dpad i used the same rom u talk about and never had an issue
Hey petard, did you ever fix the issue with the D-pad ?
I have the exact same issue with my Fuze and can't figure it out.
It is a hardware issue. I had to replace it. My replacement worked fine until about 3 weeks ago where it just started to act up. I called for another replacement a couple days ago and should get it tuesday. They offered me a different phone (Epix or Incite) but I declined but told them to note it that I was offered a different phone.
In about 3 months (when my warranty ends) I will call for another replacement. If they have refurbed Touch Pro 2s by then I will ask for that, if not I will get another FUZE which will extend my warranty for 3 more months (you get 3 months or whatever was left of your original warranty, whichever is longer) and by that time they have to have refurbed Touch Pro 2s where I will then try to get one.

It figures, no easy fix. It's strange how it started to act up, mine crapped out right after a flash as well.
Good luck on aquiring the TP2 though.
Hi. I flashed my Blackstone with no problem using this tut:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505377
I flashed it using HSPL with pdaviet rom (wm 6.5, manila 2.6) and then new radio (1.14 AFAIR)
The thing is, in this tutorial it says:
Code:
(HSPL4d) Hard reset afterwards. Once or twice- up to you. Twice has been recommended. Turn off your phone. I personally do it right after flashing completes and I see the "Smart Mobility" screen. I just yank the battery out instead of waiting for it to boot up all the way and go through customization process just to hard reset Hold the volume down button and volume up button while you press the power on button. You should see a message saying "This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to the manufacturer default settings. Press VolUp to restore manufacturer defaults, or press other keys to cancel." Do exactly what it says...
The thing is, I thought yanking the battery out can be done in the place of hard reset! So I just turned off my Blackstone after flashing, then turned on, and when in the "smart Mobility" screen, I removed the battery. I then repeat it once more.
So, the phone seems to be working really nice, but it's kinda sluggish - I tried gfxboost and driverpack beta2, and no changes. So I thought it could've been working better if I have hard-resetted it after flashing in the first place So, what do you think? Will re-flashing with the same rom and then hard-resetting make any performance difference?
And about the problem I have - I followed this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=puL795s1bY4
But am totally unable to get into this hard reset screen. My phone simply loads and displays "smart mobility" screen, as if the volume buttons weren't pushed. And I am sure both of these buttons work! I have tried this multiple times, but to no avail. Can you help?
PS.: Ok, I get it. The way I did it is different than what the instruction states - I pressed VolUp,VolDown and then pressed Power repeatedly many times until I saw the hard reset screen. So, I ask once again - is it worth to flash once again? It doesn't work that bad. Definitely now slower when it was on stock rom, and much better than my friend's Omnia....
