It's in Chinese but not WWE. Mixed reviews.
Can anyone confirm that this is a legitimate version or a fake one?

It is ajc2003 rom who produced this Fantastic Rom WM6.1 For Wizard OS 5.2.19521 built 19521 WWE. I think it is in Beta 1. Insead of calling it fake, I would call it hybrid, if it even is. Here is a link to show the progress he is making with it http://bbs.xbeta.cn/forumdisplay.php?fid=11&filter=type&typeid=64

downloading... ... ...

wow that's the newest wm6.1 build for the Kraiser!
That would be so awesome if someone already ported that one for the wizard.

The core OS is a leaked evaluation version from the Motorola Q8 (1.07.24R)
I am running it on my Faraday

well....what do you think so far??...feedback man!!!

Working great on my Fararaday. GnatGoSplat is the Cooker. He is the one behind this project; [Mar 24, 2008] Boring ROMs 5.2.1629 for AT&T, T-Mobile and now vanilla flavored!
Maybe you can ask him if he would port that build over and make it work with our Wizard

The 19202 I ported to Tornado and StarTrek are WM6.1 Standard. It wouldn't work well on a Wizard because you'd have to use the Dpad for everything, the touchscreen wouldn't work.
I can port any WM6.1, but Wizard should have the Professional version for touchscreen support.

Indeed the latest O2 (MWG) device Zinc II is running based on this build (refer to the pix attached)

just flashed this and also pulled it apart... i'm going to test it for a bit, but this version is basically TNT 19199. splash, customizing screen and version (CE OS 5.2.19202 (Build 191999.1.0.0)TNT) feel is the same too....
we'll see what's up with it, im guessing just a few modules were changed or maybe not even that, but still a good rom just like TNT's. too bad i can't find a real 19202...
btw, 19209 is available now... looks like a port of this:

I am in Las Vegas attending CTIA Wireless show. MS has officially released WM6.1 today at this event. I checked some phones running 6.1 on MS booth and found the OS version is 5.2.19204 (Build 5.2.19204.1.0.1) on Tilt and 5.2.19524 on a Touch Dual. I think the Wizard is just too old hence I didn't see any displayed.

What is the most generic WM6 wizard ROM?

I am looking for the most generic WM6 ROM that has the base and drivers, no tweaks or utilities. Like a retail HTC WM6 rom. Any suggestions? thanks
Also, any idea how to increase earpiece volume on the MDA (currently have XDA WM6 ROM).

Thats funny actually. You ask for a completely vanilla / stock WM6 rom with no extras. Someone points you to one that is pretty close to as vanilla, and you complain its missing "the new WM6 interface". Sounds to me like you are not wanting a stock rom
If you truely want plain / stock do a search for the Ingenetics rom. Its as basic and bare as they come and pretty much like what is delivered from Microsoft. Yes, its "older" too, but thats because there are no real roms for the Wizard after that one. Newer ones are ports from other devices.
Here's good list of roms from someone around here

I would request you if you can give me the Original Base Rom which Ingenetics submitted. I have searched a lot but could not get it

UPDATED: Would you like to see a cooked build of the new 19202?

I have been adding/deleting features and programs in the new 19202 build that NoThrills has so graciously released to us.
Due to it kaiser designed base, giving it amazing speed(even in complete stock form), I was curious as to how many people would like a cooked version released, with some bug fixes, registry tweaks, and also some added utilities.
If you would like this, please respond letting me know what you would like to see in this release. I have already cooked several versions for my own person use, and modified it for my own use.
Just let me know what everyone would like to see, and ill try my best to release a few builds to accommodate the majority.
First Release of my Hybrid OS 5.2.19202 (Build 19209) can be found here after I upload: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2069244#post2069244
Yes please!
I'd love to see the basic ROM with bug fixes and generic updates to the HTC progs. To many ROMs get stuffed with extraneous crap that isn't useful.
Cook away brother, as I'd enjoy the sampling.
I do not think this is a good build to cook from unless you feel like spending lots of time in the kitchen fixing MS screw ups! Has anyone noticed the screen tearing from the new .dlls? plus there are a few other things I won't mention since most of you haven't played with roms that long to understand what I am talking about.
What specifics would you like to see?
Such as apps to be added/removed
What bugs do you think should have priority?
etc, etc...
uDK just released a version...
I'd like to see a "If HTC could be bothered to put all the fixes and S/W updates in all one ROM, This is how it would look ROM"
Camera Fix
Camera Album
Comm Manager
Video Dialer
Calculator
Little fixes like backlight going out on call.
Removing of the useless Windows Update.
But most Important its clean!!! Fresh...
UC compliant for all us to enjoy the phone our way...
I like flashing other peoples work... But thats their work... The way they want the phone... Yes they add little bits and take bits out on request sometimes... But how nice would it be to have our own way...
Argh 1st post other than just a thanks so I babbled and lost my self...
Thanks for your suggestions. I am working on these fixes as I type.
So far I have completed this:
- Working Video Dialer
- Comm Manager(6 Button)
- Latest HTC Album
- Camera Fix(Latest which i have seen)... PLEASE post the cab that contains which fix you are speaking of.
- Calculator
- GPS Test
- Office and OneNote has been removed in the lite version
- Welcome Center removed
- HSDPA Icon added
- HTC Plus added(disabled by default)
- HTC Home updated(now with tab under today settings)
- And more!
all the latest htc apps.....audio manager,home,album etc.....plus total comander is a must...thanks

Well, I'm not a professional cook. But I flashed about every ROM that was ever out here, both on my Hermes and my Kaiser.
And despite of your reactions, AllTheWay and Austinsnyc, I really really dig this ROM. Never had a faster and snappier ROM before (even not Dutty's), no single freeze for 4 days, never needed to softreset.
I don't use voicecommander, but I dó use bluetooth (carkit, external phone), GPRS, HSDPA, phone, TomTom, Navigon, PointUI, PZPTools, etc. It all works great!
Yes, there are some problems reported, but aren't they also with Dutty's, Schaps, Alex's?
And yes, it may be a cooked ROM, but for me it's really worth further developing...

CE OS core 19900

Are there any official "test" ROMS that have been leaked with the 19900 build or are they all cooked versions?
I would assume that a cook had to get them from somewhere, but what I am unsure about is whether these files are being brought over from a device other than the kaiser?

Ha...yeah... well I am downloading the PDAVIET latest which claims it is 19900. Also there are some other's released, like HyperDragon's latest.
Since you have been doing some good cooking Laurentis, I am curious how often the cooks are using "system" files from other phones?
I know that they have been porting some apps (like the newest HTC stuff) from other devices like the Touch/Dual, but are they porting system (OS CE files) from other devices to the Kaiser?
thanks

So is what you are saying you can extract a polaris ROM and bring over the entire SYS directory and cook it into a Kaiser ROM? Just not the DSMs and RGUs?
How does one know what files can be brought over and also what advantage does it give?
Let's put it this way...if I wanted to cook a kaiser ROM, why would I choose to use Polaris' SYS, and how would I import them to ensure that it would work. Is there ALOT of additional tweaking to get Polaris SYS to work on Kaiser?
thx
what a surprising coincidence that the 'rounded off' build numbers aka 19400 19700 19900 come with no dsm/rgu, come from no OEM ROM to be found, and are released by the same individuals who flooded us with fake, hexedited, pointless WM6.0 builds that did nobody any good.
CE OS "sources" chopped up with stuff missing and lame excuses from the releasing parties are a waste of your time. my new motto: if i dont have an OEM .exe containing the source, its a bull**** release.

I was suspect of this too...which is one of the reasons I asked. Is the PDAVIET the source of these or not? It appeared (though I may be wrong) that the HyperDragon release was dated prior to that...but I don't know if there were others.
I think we should make it clear to the community that these versions may be bogus.

My 2 cents:
-the PDAviet ROM is very different from latest HYPERDRAGON, both claiming to be based on 19900.
-the PDAviet rom is by far the fastest rom ever. Look at the benchmarks I've made. I've tried so many roms, and none was so fast, especially graphivally speaking.
But yes it has some strange bugs if you don't use the dedicated radio (see my signature), but other bugs are well known, like the HTC Home problem which occured also on dutty's latest.
- finally, to sum up, yeah I don't have the slightest idea from where those system files come from. I won't speak about PhamQuang, no idea of what he did, but you can surely ask Sakajati, i think I've read he works in a retail store something like this.
Yes I've been trying the PDAVIET today and it appears pretty fast. Usually I don't notice any speed differences in ROMs and if there are...I think they only change + or - 10%... so maybe I think this one is about 10% faster, but it is still hard to say.
I am going to keep running with it since it also is fairly lite on the apps and lets me install my own cabs which I am building and testing.
I won't worry too much about it since we are supposed to have the new HTC release this much..I really hope it comes and is running at least this 19900 version.
thanks.
Hi,
You didn't understand me correct here. Dsm's and rgu's are necessary for cooking rom. Sys dir contains the CE OS version and OEM dir the device drivers if everything is correct. So it's possible to take complete Sys dir from a dumped Polaris rom and port it to Kaiser. If you do a search with Google for 'Misar', you will learn how to port.
Cheers,
Leo

Best 6.1 ROM?

Hello,
I have started having frequent crashes with my 6.0 ROM-based VOX. I don't quite know what's happening, but it's no longer reliable.
So, instead of starting from scratch with 6.0, I'm thinking I'll jump to 6.1 to hold me over to my upgrade to ???? (X1? Touch Pro? Dunno!)
Anyway, there seem to be a couple fine 6.1 ROMs for the S710. Has anyone done an overall review and comparison/contrast so I can choose the right one for me?
Also, are there any compatibility issues with apps with 6.1? Doubt it.. but can't hurt to ask.
Any info greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jon

fastest amd most stable so far. Battery life is better.
I made the general experience that 6.1 is usually faster than 6.0 (except for really bad 6.1 ROMs, but fortunately there aren't any of those for the Vox)!

Which "new" ROM? I'm having a hard time keeping track. Is there a name/version you recommend? Is it faster than the "clean" one from fireburned?
I'm sorry, here is the link to the rom:

I only used it since yesterday, but till now it is very fast. I find it faster then the clean rom.
To be honest i am also searching for the ideal rom but my experience is that the roms from martin gonzo usually work very well.
Thanks. Is the Mona Lisa theme changable?
Do you have any idea what would make this particular ROM faster than other ROMs? Do you overclock?

There is no clear answer on this.
Before Dr. Gonzo Mona Lisa XIP 20262 / build 19593.1.1.7, i already tested Hikey same version ROM XIP 20262 / build 19593.1.1.7 but found unstable. Sometimes got freeze whereas it was latest. Same is the story with this ROM.
later tested Fireburned ROM XIP 20262 / build 19202.1.0.0 but found quite stable. speed wise both are same. Also fireburned mentioned somewhere builds 19593 are buggy when he was going to release version 1.0
So any ROM if it is 6.1, dont go for speed, speed is same but check for stability and responsiveness.

Well, LeFab's roms are best. I am fan of him. I would suggest try his WM6.1 clean version 1.1. Stable and very fast.
I've used Gonzo's 1.1 for a couple of weeks now, and am very pleased. No issues that I attribute to the particular ROM. Good set of "ingredients", and noticably faster and more stable than the 6.0 I upgraded from.
CHome is nice, but I quickly reverted back to my old Facade.
I particularly fancy the Vol up/down -> BT/Wifi shortcuts.
I had been seriously considering buying a Touch Pro, but with the second life my Vox has been given, I might postpone that for a long while - maybe even till the next generation appears.
Note that I've tried no other 6.1 ROMs, so am in no position to compare.
I have used quite a few ROMS and none of them gave me any trouble except the last one-MONALISA by Dr. Gonzo which freezes my vox everytime a aprticular application is used. The fireburned 6.1 ver 1.1 is very good, stable and fast. However, i am now using a chinese ROM by Hikey which uses latest XIP as pointed out by sk chattha. It needs a few customisations as its prinary language is chinese. But once changed to English it is running very fast and is rock stable in my vox contrary to what sk chattha has said regarding stability issues. The 96 dpi ROM - 1st version by zeeshan is also very good but fonts are too small for me. However, under all circumstances I would recommend fireburned 6.1 v1.1 and radio of 4,13,54.
Thanks.
I'm using the newest Neo rom with the latest xip of fireburned. Very fast and stable!

Windows Mobile 6.5 has gone gold?

Just found this article over on Engadget that proclaims that (via Twitter) Microsoft has announced that 6.5 has, indeed, gone gold.
Engadget Post here.
Cool, but haven't most of us flashed to some cooked v. already? Neat, but mundane-ish.
Sounds great! I hope microsoft will release it soon.
Can I still get it when my phone isn't flashed and is still on default software?
Ok, for those of you who had the at&t "Tilt" (Kaiser), if we use the same timeline....MS RTM'd 6.5, let's say they ship it in July. If we use that as a benchmark, and remember how long it took at&t to release 6.1 for the Tilt, it will be December 09 at the EARLIEST before we could see (if at all) 6.5 show up "officially" on the Touch Pro. LOL.......
If it wasn't for the cooks on XDA, we'd be slaves to whenever the carriers would get around to releasing updates. "Timely manor" is not in their vocabulary.

So how is this mundane? We have been running beta software up to this point.

Chill man, it's sarcasm. Did ya notice the eyes rolling? But it's not going to be a whole lot diff except for hopefully less buggy, and the beta's I've been running have been really pretty solid for the most part. I'm looking forward to this as much as anybody. Lets loosen up. Life's way to short.
Good news, but I don't think there will be many differences with current custom 6.5 roms. Of course it's good to have the latest stable version as the base for custom roms.

No gold, no happy!
6.5 is very slowly!
Might not be "gold" but the roms on XDA are pretty good. Installed 6.5 last night, MUCH faster than 6.1. UI has NO lag.

Either or. It's about a billion times faster.
The rom I downloaded, was RRE's series 6, 6.5 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=506837
He has the default wm6.5 interface (called chrome) & the tf3d interface. You simply toggle the one you want from the today screen.
My Fuze is MUCH faster... no screen lag, even when rotating. I'm still using the TF3D interface, haven't had much time to tinker with anything...too busy at work. If you've never flashed one, other than a rom update from a carrier (if yours is carrier locked), you'll need to do some reading. Read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=448008
Simple, straight forward steps on how to flash one.
I already knew what I needed, but ran the instructions step by step..."stupidly simple" as I like to call it. Once you get hard SPL changed,
flashing is the same (if you use the Rom Update Utility). It updates, reboots, and you are done.

I have been waiting for 6.5 to be out of beta before flashing. I will probably flash 6.5 tonight anyways...even if 6.5 is gold...it will be awhile before we get our hands on an offical release.
Yeah, if you have an at&t fuze....I remember when the 6.1 update came out...it took at&t over 6 months to finally release it "officially".
The 6.5 is the first "cooked" rom I've used. I won't use a "carrier" rom update
again. These are for lack of another term, bloat free.
This one has a few apps and some really nice tools that i download and install
anyway. The program "update" utility is really nice to have.

I chg's the rom on my Tilt from 6.0 to 6.1 and would like to do the same on my Fuze 6.1 to 6.5. Can this be done without reinstalling all my software or was it like the Tilt, start from scratch?
Start from scratch. One of the guys at work changed his tilt from 6.1 to 6.5 and loves it.

It's not officially out yet as I understand.
The link posted within the quote from my post above will take you where you need to go for the 6.5 rom. I haven't done it yet and it was really painless on my Tilt when I had it.
I am assuming that this ROM doesn't contain the bloatware that we have to deal with in the official "AT&T" ROM. I mention this cause there was a little trick that had to be done in order to bypass the bloatware load. It really wasn't that tough although it did take me a coule of tries before I got it right.
If you haven't modified your phone much then just follow the instructions. If you've added software and other tweeks... you will have to reload them again (based on the reply from "p51d007").
If you need help this board is awesome. Also you can send me a PM and I'll try to help best I can.
