So some of you might recall that I got a fake IPhone with Windows Mobile and it was working great, but now it won't boot, it'll sit at the blue Windows Mobile screen and not advance from there. I've tried pulling the battery and it doesn't help. Obviously I'd try a hard reset but the only buttons I have are, the on/off switch, a soft reset button, a camera, some sort of back button and 2 volume buttons. I've tried a combination of those buttons and I do recall getting a blue screen a while ago but none of those combinations have worked this time.
Can anyone help?
EDIT: FIXED!!!!!! Camera+Volume Up gave me a blue screen, after that it booted! So I didn't get any sort of tri-coloured screen but the blue screen seem to have Hard Rest it maybe.
Umm, obviously this thread is sort of pointless now but if someone else has a Daxian X999 and has the same problem then this should help them.
Thanks
Seems like i'm the first to try your way of hard reset with this phone. Thanks a lot, I thought my phone is dead, and now it works perfect.
What is a "fake iphone with windows mobile"?
Chinese knockoff?
jep kinda "chinese knockoff"
but its a quite good phone, though...
i just wish it would be possible to upgrade the os to wm6.1
It works but you have to push the camera the up volume and the power key at the same time. you get a blue screen then the windows screen.
It does not work with mine. I still receive only the Windows Mobile screen.
I worked for me a few times and now it just sits at that blue windows mobile screen and then it goes to a white screen or a tri color screen. And it wont boot any further. Anybody got a idea how to get it back up. I called the place i got it from and they dont answer the phone and dont return calls. Tronicvasion is the place i got it from. Their customer service stinks. I feel like i am let hanging, kinda stinks spending 437 bux for a 1 month old phone that crapped out. But i am glad i still have my trusty Tmobile Wing tho.
have you figured out how to hard reset? it isnt working, and I cant bypass the unlock code..
Hard reset is done as explained in the 1st post here, by holding a combination of buttons and then the power button, or the reset. now you have 4 buttons plus the power button, hold the upper ones (one side camera, other side volume up) in and then press the power button. Keep the buttons pressed for a couple of seconds thou. If the phone is on, you can do the same but instead of power, press the reset.
One last thing i saw is if i hold the vol up and vol down then reset, it does not reset, but only stay on blank screen, this might be helpful for some one who's hard reset does not work.
I also suggest removing all sim and memory cards before a hard reset.
Even thou my phone is "branded" Chinese knock off I personally think it's great, and very stable
Happy to have a iphone lookalike running Micro$oft Windowzzzzzz

Hi, first let me say im sorry if this has already been covered somewhere, i have spent all day searching the wiki and forum to no avail. If the solution is already here please point me in the direction and delete this thread.
I have just flashed my kaiser from the original vodafone WM6 ROM to Dutty's WM6.1 Hybrid v2 5.2.19716/5.2.19700. At first everything seemed fine, then when i tried to restore the backup id created with sprite backup it restored, reset and now wont get past the loading screen. It shows the vodafone splash screen then duttys htc screen then goes back to vodafone.
I used Hardspl 3.29 before flashing. I tried hard reseting which made no difference. i cant get into the bootloader (tried the camera, power reset thing loads) and i cant connect to my pc as it wont go past the splash screen.
I had a look at MTTY but it doesnt give the options described in the instructions and after reading the warnings about MTTY decided i shouldnt mess around with what i dont understand.
Any help will be greatly apreciated, i love my phone and the idea that ive just broken it scares the crap out of me.
Thanks
Sandy

first, are you SURE you can't get into bootloader?
I know it sounds stupid, but try REALLY pushing the camera button in while pushing the stylus into the reset hole. Once you get to the bootloader (tri-color screen), try flashing a different ROM
good luck

I agree here a lot of people don't realize the Camera button is a two stage button. It stops at Half-Press then you can push again to get Full Press. You need a Full Press to get into bootloader.
Just to clarify.
Press and hold the camera button and at the same time insert stylus in reset hole and hold until bootloader comes up.
In other words, do not let up until bootloader shows. It should take around 2-3 seconds.
yea ive been doing that. After trying many times i have found that holding the camera button down for around 2 minutes after the htc dutty series screen comes up brings up a white screen with the error message;
"the device is unable to boot either because you have turned off the device incorrectly or tried to install an application from an untrusted source. press send to reset or any other key to cancel"
The message dissapears if i let go of the camera button, and resets back to the vodafone screen and stays there. If i press the send button same thing happens (just an idiot check but the send button is the green pick up button right?) ive tryed the enter button and both soft keys but all to the same result. I have tried holding down each button on that screen as well and the error message stays as long as i hold the button but when i let go it just goes back to the vodafone splash screen and stays there.
I have tried holding the stylus with the camera button all the way through to this error message, doesnt seem to make a difference.
just to clarify, ive done what you suggest and still cant get into the bootloader.
Thanks for any help, this is driving me mad.
hold the camera button and use the stylus to press the reset button, and continue holding the camera button until the bootloader screen pops up.
i used to let go the camera button as soon as the screen go black, but then it just reset the device instead of going into the bootloader...
oh forgot to mention. Shotly after the dutty series screen comes up i get the window appearing sound but nothing comes on screen. suggests to me that maybe its trying to tell me whatswrong but i can see what it is. maybe, i dunno..

Im holding the camera button for around 2 minutes before it does anything, then i get the above error message.
Do you have a storage card installed?
yes. tried taking it out and doing the same thing. no different.
anything else i could try?

OK But are you also holding your stylus in the Reset Hole?
If yes, And you can't get into Bootloader, well I think you are "boned"
Yes im doing that. Boned? really? What about the error message that eventually comes up? isnt there anything i can do from there? Any other way of reseting it so maybe the bootloader works?
And if its really broken, do you recon my network will send me another or have i just properly voided the warranty?
I'm not sure how many people, if any, have experience with this phone, but I'm taking a shot in the dark because I am completely out of options here. The phone is similar to the Cect M88, and the other Cect iPhone-clones available, although I'm not sure how similar the button layout is.
I installed PCM Keyboard last night, and all was working fine until this afternoon, when all of a sudden, my phone wouldn't wake up. I ended up having to pull the battery in order to get it to restart, but then it wouldn't boot past the Windows Mobile screen (the first one - didn't even make it to the second screen).
After several attempts to hard reset (top volume button + camera button + power button), I was able to get it reset, but even though active sync was running, folders weren't showing up properly on the phone itself. I did a soft reset, and folders then showed up, but this time active sync wouldn't load on the phone. Several more soft resets did nothing, but I kept trying, and finally... the phone froze up again to the point where it hung on the Windows Mobile screen again. Now, despite all attempts, I can't even get it to hard reset. When I push all buttons from an off state, the screen will turn blue (which seems to indicate some kind of resetting is going on since it normally goes straight to the WM screen) and then a few seconds later, the Windows Mobile screen will come up and hang. I've tried every combination of buttons possible, and I've tried hard resetting probably a good 20-30 times since this happened. I've removed the SIM card, removed the SD card... I've basically tried hard resetting seemingly every way possible, and yet it still will not reset and load up WM 6.0 pro like it should.
Any ideas on how I can get this thing to at least move past the WM screen? If I'm totally unable to hard reset, what would be the next best course of action? Since this is an off-brand phone with no support or any kind of warranty, are there repair places out there that can restore the OS? Is that something I can do myself? (Phone didn't come with any software or anything.) I'm at a loss here... I really don't want to end up with a $200 blue flashlight/paperweight. I know I took my chances when I bought it, but well... this stinks.
worked
hey man i know its old and hopefully you still have your phone.. ok what you need to do is let the phone die completely so you may have to keep the blue screen on and keep turning it on till your phone does this like you i have hard reseted serveral time to no avail but when the phone died i took out the battery plugged it in to the wall charger placed the battery in the phone let the red led light by the camera light up then i turned it on and before the screen could show the splash i did the hard reset phone is aye ok !! hope this helps man.. your post helped me..
eric
This is the craziest issue.. My slide to unlock is no longer working so therefore I can hardly use the phone except that I can take inbound calls. I have tried to factory reset using down volume, circle, reset. Please please please any other ideas are greatly appreciated! I am totally stuck with a useless phone and am having to use a BJ II for now! Uggh!
How come the hard reset didn't work? You need to hold down vol down and the dpad button until the tri-color screen appears.
The easiest thing would be to connect to your pc, then access the registry with ceregeditor. Switch HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Lockscreen\enabled:1 to 0 and soft reset. Then just unlock off the old screen.
Beats the heck out of me.. I hold the volume button down, and hold down the dpad and nothing. I have done it on reboot, I have done it from the lock screen and nothing. As for your registry idea I like it, its just too bad I cannot get the phone to connect to windows. I have tried it on 2 Windows 7computers now. Anymore ideas?
You need to figure out how to hard reset-you're clearly doing it wrong. Hold down vol-down and the d-pad button simultaneously. Keep holding them down. Then just soft reset. Don't hold down the soft reset-just tap it with the stylus. Wait until the hard reset screen appears, then let go of the other two buttons. There is really no way that it won't work, it's a bootloader operation and it doesn't matter what crap you have on your main memory.
I'm having the same issue. Just flashed the Energy Rom and now I can't unlock my phone. I'll try some of the suggested tips and let you know which worked.

I edited the registry with the above value and it solved my problem - Phone is no longer locked on bootup. Now my issue is that somehow my touchscreen is unresponsive (probably why I couldn't unlock my phone). I believe it's a hardware issue not a software one because it looks like liquid got under the screen somehow. Lame. Now I need to flash back to stock ROM and lock it so I can send it in under insurance.
Hi
Mate 8 was working flawless until today, my screen seems totally Off but the mobile itself is on. I can't find a way to force thereboot as this requires the screen to be touched, anyone was a solution as there is no english manual for this device ? I see a small hole on the top that i guess is for something. Does anyone had that problem and knows hos to soft reset the phone ?
You can hold the power button for 10 seconds, for soft reset. Did you try this ?
unfortunately yes, screen remains off while mobile is on. I can recieve calls but you cant do anything as the touchscreen remains off ... I think this looks to be a hardware issue. ****, i ve paid this device 829 USD from ali baba to get it quickly and now it will take ages to get another one from them, hoping they wont make any trouble.
Try hold vol Up and power button. Chinese menu should pop up, use a camera translate with another device(i forget what is what) format clear cache.
But of course it could be your screen is toast.
Screen off, phone still on just happened to me, too. After a while it rebooted by itself. Have the phone for one day now, this is annoying the crap out of me.
Hi everyone, I'm throwing this out there because I've run out of ideas about what has just happened to my U12+ (64gb) today.
I woke up and used my phone as normal, caught up on Twitter and the news, the usual apps etc. nothing untoward. The same routine I've had with my phone for the past 18 months of owning it with zero issues. My handset is stock OS (Android 9) and so not rooted or anything like that. Virtually all the apps I use are standard issue from the Play Store, nothing really "out there" and I have BitDefender installed to look after security. Same setup I've had for over a year. The battery was around 35% so I plugged it into my wall charger while I went off to grab some breakfast. When I returned a couple of hours later the light on the handset was green, I unplugged the charger and attempted to unlock it with my fingerprint.
The phone asked for my PIN, no big deal so I entered it. Black screen. Tapped the power button again, it requested my PIN again, I entered and... black screen. Okay, I was a little bit concerned now. I held down the power button so the haptic buzz occurred, held for 10/20/30 seconds, a minute... nothing, no restart. Tap the power button and it asks me for my PIN again and shows yet another black screen. I held down Power + Volume Down but again, nothing and no restart.
I asked someone to call me, the screen came to life and I could take the call but each time I tried to pull down the system tray in order to try and reach Settings to restart it asked me for my PIN, I entered it = black screen. The call was unaffected.
I removed my SIM + microSD card tray = same deal as above.
The phone is clearly responsive in some way and the screen does display to ask for my PIN but I can't get into it in order to reboot it. Extremely worrying.
Does anyone have any advice? At the moment I am faced with the prospect of simply allowing the battery to run out so the phone shuts down naturally but that is going to take the best part of 2 days.
I'm really disappointed because I was planning another 1-2 years use for this handset as I just bought a 1TB microSD card which has been fine in the phone for weeks so I don't think that's the cause. It is also genuine SanDisk.
Any suggestions or advice? Thanks in advance.
Hello, I hope you have made a backup with google backup recently... This does not happen often on android, but sometimes the system could have a problem. You can try this go the bootloader with the power and volume buttons , after recovery.. after apply a wipe data/ factory reset.. is will make a factory reset of your phone except the sd card. You should by fine after that and profit again.
Thanks, I appreciate your reply.
At the moment I am running the battery down until the handset switches off naturally. When it comes back on I will try to launch the phone normally, if that doesn't work I'll run the battery down again and attempt to reach the bootloader.
My photos are backed up to the cloud, I may lose some text messages but I managed to transfer the majority of my 2FA over to another Android device bar one.
At the end of the day if it's a choice between wiping it or a bricked/unusable handset then I don't really have one. What a pain.

At the moment I am running the battery down until the handset switches off naturally <----- why that??? Even on a bootloop or a black screen you can reset it hold the buttons power and the volume, you can go on the bootloader.

The first thing I tried to do was hold down the power button or the power button in tandem with the volume buttons but the handset won't restart. I tried loads of times holding it for different amounts of time and... nothing.
Trust me, I tried.
The only way I can get the device to switch off is by draining the battery. I'm almost at 20% so it shouldn't be too much longer.
Well I already got a black screen after flashing a module magisk.. I have holding the power button and the phone have restart no problem, same thing on bootloop. You need to be sure to hold the button correctly.

Yeah, I'm certain I was holding the buttons correctly. I tried about 20 times using different combinations just to be sure but the device would not restart. The haptic shock buttons are one of my least favourite features of the u12+, it's got to be said.
Anyway, the phone ran out of battery about 15 minutes ago. I left it alone for few minutes and switched it back on. It allowed me back in and the device appears to be fully functional again. I can unlock by thumb print, face or PIN without issue.
Basically, it's fixed. My only concern is I have no idea what caused it or if it will happen again.
Thanks for offering help though, I appreciate it. I'm not sure if this thread can be closed/locked now? I'll look into that.
Cheers.
Yes.. i love the buttons too i never got a problem with this. Great if is fixed! Maybe make a factory reset the next time.
I am wondering if the new flagship have haptic buttons too.. htc will announce it Tuesday.
