External speaker? Does it have any way to plug the audio into the car stereo?? 3.5mm audio jack would be nice while the microphone continues to function on the Car kit.
I really want to know if this one has a GPS connection, so I don't have to swap my Holux GM 210 for a BT mouse......
Is this for the XDA or the XDA II?
their connector is suppose to be the same so it should work on both of them

Can you confirm it works with the XDA II?
How does it connect to the XDA II headphone jack?
Does it have an external headphone jack?
(Asking this because I'm currently using an iSound FM transmitter to play MP3 from my XDA II through my car stereo.)
Thanks.
Ed

Is this a professionally fitted car kit, hard wired into the power and radio system of the car ?
Also can you tell me what sort of GPS socket it has, I have a Holux GM 210 which has a PS2 type connector??
Cheers

Hey everybody,
I purchased the Prfessional car kit from Expansys for the XDA II and I'm having a few problem I hope someone can help me out.
When I inserte the Pda in the car kit this ared the problems I have fvind:

2 No sound from car kit or pda.
3 When the Tom Tom Navigator is saying the ruote non sound from Car kit or PDA
4 When an incomingb call is received swound is hear trought pda notg car kit, whedn you answer the call the car kit start working only to receive call.
5 I've noticed that if i put the headset in the 2.5mm jack at the bottom of the cradle the sound is hear throught the headset and it disconnect the car kit.
Any help would be very helpful.
Send already 2 email to expansys no reply call the they say that I can only contact support by email or forum now I'm stuck do no if it is a fault unit or the car kit work in this manner if it does it is useless.

eXpansis Proffesional car kit
I just had the kit installed and it looks ok. The problem is that the audio is only present when I'm on a call and it's only phone audio. What I need is a way to get the PDA audio (i.e. the navigation speaking) to come through either the car speakers or the speaker included with the kit. The fact that call audio comes through both makes me think there are two problems.
- The first problem seems to be that the kit only passes audio to the speakers when the mute signal is live for the car audio. This wouldn't be the case when listening to pda audio (navigation instructions). This seems more like a problem with the car kit which with a bit of work I could prob. get around.
- The second problem I see is that only phone (call) based audio is passed through the car kit. This problem seems to be more with the XDA. I wonder if there is a registry hack to force all audio to look the same. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS IS THE CASE? If so I would really appreciate some pointers on this.
I'm using the Navman 4410 BT navigation system BTW.
Thanks,
Lyndon.
i think it is indeed a software problem.
when i first got my xda2 i made my own carkit
1 cable with audio out to carstereo, connection to my gps, connection to the charging unit
sound like mp3 and voice calling was fine
now when i updated the ROM it doesnt work anymore, i know 100% that my carkit is fine.

You made your own XDA2 carkit ?
btw. for the Expansys carkit users: Does it have an GPS-connector ? Some dutch guy at expansys said it didn't. But then again, i had to give him the link before he knew they actually sold XDA Carkits

Lintech car-kit bluetooth adapter

I've got a Nokia 6310 car kit installed at the moment thats been redundant since I got my XDA2. I've heard about an adapter that can be used to convert this to a bluetooth car kit which will therefore support the XDA2 but I'm slightly skeptical as the manufacturers state it supports headset and handsfree profiles but works better with handsfree.
As the XDA2 only supports headset I was wondering if anyone had tried this setup?

Lintech Bluetooth
Hi slowndes,
I have been using this equipment for some time.
In fact, the adapter supports both handsfree and headset profiles but since the XDAII only supports headset the full capabilities of the adapter are not used.
This means that a lot of echo can be generated and also the noise reduction is not achieved.
In what concerns the bonding and pairing the procedure is faultless.
I hope I have helped you.
Lintech Adapter - for Nokia Cark 91 to Bluetooth
As you will see in my posting under bluetooth ear peices section. I have tried everything, yep I have a lintech adapter if anyone wants to offer me something for it...
However... great product if used with a handsfree profile of a mobile phone, if you have Headset profile your kn*ckered. The Lintech doesn't transfer incoming calls always to the XDA II and you end up ring them back... costing and frustrating....
Get and earpeice, take the gear out the car and have less clutter...

Nigel

hands free problem

I have an intergrated hands free kit that was used for my older HTC phone that just happens to fit this phone too, so I used it for a bout 8 mohts with no problems, but the sound was very poor so i ended up getting a plug in bluetooth one with a mic and speaker. Tghis was fine and the sound was okay and the in built kit charged the phone so all was well. The satnave instructions even came throught he plug in speaker so great.
Now when I plug in the phone it comes up with the stereo headset symbol and the plug in mic doesn't work. When I unplug formthe car kit the bluetooth works great.
Any thoughts

Using microphone of the phone when earphones connected

Hi!
i connected my phone to my car speakers via a mini-usb to 3.5mm adapter and i was wondering if i could use the microphone of the phone because this registers it as a headset and is expecting a mic from it.
it would be great to take phone calls through the external speakers.
never heard of it being possible
but then also didn't believe it was possible
to use the normal speaker when a headset
was connected but thats possible on some
phones where the headset is antenna for the fm radio
I use the factory HTC Fuze 3.5mm audio jack dongle that came with the phone, and I am able to use the phone's mic by default while audio-out is interfaced with my car stereo. The audio comes through the car speakers. I have been told by the caller on the other end that it sounds no different than me using a bluetooth headset.

Nexxus DriveUltra PRO Solar-Powered Multipoint Bluetooth Car Kit

Hi,
Bought a Bluetooth car-kit speaker from Nexus to my HTC Desire.
Nexxus DriveUltra PRO Solar-Powered Multipoint Bluetooth Car Kit
hxxp://wxw.amazon.co.uk/Drive-Ultra-Pro-Bluetooth-Car/dp/B004FQUSDO
I'm very satisfied with the speaker, it syncs very quick with the phone, the sound it loud and clear enough to maintain a conversation in bumpy roads. One of the best features I found on this kit, is that it has embedded a solar panel that recharges to speaker battery. This feature allows me to recharge the speaker via usb only once in a few weeks.

Sorry for opening up this old post, do you still have it? I just bought 1 off ebay but without a manual and I cannot figure out what the menu button does.
Any ideas or know where I can download a manual?
Sounds are crisp and clear and according to the wife she can hear me fine aswell, just wish it would auto pair without having to keep your finger on the top button whilst you turn the bluetooth on.
Regards
DC
Anybody any ideas?
